Restrictions passcode forgotten...oops

i setup my iphone with restrictions on the internet usage etc so that it didnt connect to the net etc... or something like that, so my bill didnt sky rocket,
now i cant remember the restrictions passcode...
is there a way to remove the code, besides trying all the 40,000 combination's it could be... have resorted so far to trying a new code, recording the code, and waiting 60 minutes and trying another code combination.
i back it up loads, but because the code was put in when i first setup the iphone, i dont think i can restore it back to then... think i put it in before i connected it to the pc for first time...

Syncing the phone restores the apps, media and photos (if they are in your iTunes library). They aren't in the backup. You will lose all settings, app data and messages.

i set up a restrictions passcode some time ago and have now forgotten it. what can i do to reset my ipad i dont have much on it so dont mind reseting it. i just need to know the best way to sort this out.

If you can't remember the restrictions passcode then if it wasn't on the iPad when you last synced/backed up to your computer's iTunes then you should be able to restore to that backup and the code should no longer be on the iPad.
If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then you will need to restore back to factory settings - restoring to a backup that also contains the code will keep the code in place. Make sure that you've got any content off the iPad that you want to be able to put back on it afterwards, and then do Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings and then copy your apps/media/files back onto it.

  • Restrictions passcode forgotten, restored ipad but will restoring using a previous backup allow me to recreate the restriction passcode?

I need to recreate the restriciton passcode for IPAD. I restored the IPAD but wonder if I choose the restore from previous backup, will it allow me to recreate the restrictions passcode, or will the old one remain?

There are two ways to remove the restrictions passcode. You either restore the device as new, deleting all content from the device, or you restore to a backup that was created when there was no restrictions passcode on the device. The restrictions passcode is part of the backup, so if you restore to a backup that had the passcode on it, it will just put it back. If you cannot remember the passcode, those are your only two options.

  • HT1212 I have forgotten my restrictions passcode on my iphone. How can I override/ get past this problem & get safari back? Any help much appreciated!!

    Hi there!
I've forgotten the restrictions passcode that I set up. I've failed on 5 attempts. What can I do to get rid of it and access safari again?! I've restored original settings (which happily updated my software), but then restored the last phone back up which I made & so, of course, still have restrictions set as on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.

To remove the Restrictions passcode you will need to Restore the Device as New...
You will not be able to perform a backup as this would include the Restrictions passcode... which is what you have to remove...

  • I have forgotten my restrictions passcode and i dont want to lose any media on my iphone, or any apps, i am scared to back up my media for restore in future as these photos and videos mean a great deal to me, is there any way i could get around it? Thanks

I have forgotten my restrictions passcode and i dont want to lose any media on my iphone, or any apps, i am scared to back up my media for restore in future as these photos and videos mean a great deal to me, is there any way i could get around it? Thankyou if you can help; oh and last time i restored my iphone it didnt restore ALL the media only some and very improtant photos went missing :(

All media and apps on the device should already be in iTunes on the computer.
If you have forgotten the restrictions passcode, the ONLY option is to restore as new.
Then sync back any media, apps, contacts, etc back to the device.
You can not restore from backup as the restrictions passcode is included in the backup.

  • HT201304 ? I have forgotten my restrictions passcode and can't make any changes. I have already did a reset with iTunes but it still didn't help. The restrictions lock is still there.

I set a restrictions passcode and have completely forgotten it. I have tried to reset with iTunes but it just clears out my phone and when I turn it back on its still locked in the restrictions menu. U can't do a reset on your phone without it... So I don't know what to do.. Help!!!

    There is no default code.
    - Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes. For how to restore: iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    You have to either:
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • Ipad forgotten restriction passcode

    Hi
I have ipad with ios 7.
I have forgotten my restrictions passcode. (I'm sure I can rememnber it, but it is not accepted)
The only way is to reset ipad, but for that I need the restrictions passcode ... aghhh!
Tried again using itunes. For this I need to turn off "Find my ipad" in icloud on the ipad ... but icloud settings are greyed out , becasue restrictions are "on" , and I have forgotten my passcode .... aghhh again!
Next thing was to use icloud .. use the erase ipad function from my pc. But my ipad is showing as "offline" even though it is connected to the internet. It says it will erase when next connected, but it already is ! Aghhh again !
I wondered if this was because my ipday keeps asking me to accept icloud terms and conditions, but because I have restrcitions on , I cant access icloud settings to accept ! Agggghhh again and again !
Seems that I'm confounded every step .. any help appreciated , otherwise i Have to bin a £600 ipad because a have "forgotten" a 4 digit number
Any help on any of the above so I can reset my ipad and start again will be greatley appreciated

  • How to reset restrictions Passcode if it is forgotten?

How do you reset your Restrictions Passcode if you have forgotten it?

    Recover Restrictions Passcode.
If You Are Locked Out, Have Forgotten Your Passcode, or Just Need to Restore Your Device
    1. iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    2. iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    3. iOS- Understanding passcodes
    4. What to Do If You've Forgotten Your iPhone's Passcode
    5. How to Recover Forgotten iPhone Restrictions Passcode | The iPhone and iPad
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the
Back Up option. If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary
              to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore or have forgotten your restrictions passcode, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code or as a New device, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

  • HT1430 How can I reset my forgotten restrictions passcode?

How can I reset my forgotten restrictions passcode?

You need to restore the iPad as a new device and not restore the backup, if the backup contains the restrictions passcode. If the a kip does not contain the passcode, you can restore it after you restore to factory settings.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
There are also third party apps that claim to be able to recover your passcode for you. If you want to look at any of those just do a Google search "forgot iPad restrictions passcode".
