Restrictions Passcode not accepted!

My password and restrictions passcode have always been the same. My passcode is accepted; however, my restrictions passcode won't accept and as has classed me as having 13 failed passcode attempts. When I try to erase all contents and settings or even just reset all settings, it goes back to the code screen and wants me to enter the code! Anyone know how to fix this? If I do a full recovery to new phone status, will my backup on icloud or my itunes replace all my apps & contacts, or will I have to start fresh? Is there an easier way to eliminate the restrictions passcode without losing everything? My phone, email and contacts are all used for work, so it's very important that I don't lose any info.  I will admit that I am not an expert to computer operations or apparently my cellphone, so please, simple and easy explanations and instructions would be great thanks!

Just restore the whole thing then try again

  • After disabling Autolock and trying to disable Passcode Authentification, iPad continues to ask for a passcode, but old passcode not accepted

I wanted to turn off Autolock and Passcode Authentification.
    I set Autolock to "never."
Then, I set Autolock after Replacing Smart Cover to "off."
Finally, I tried to turn off Passcode Authentification. My iPad asked for my passcode. I entered it, but my iPad wouln't take it and asked me to re-enter it; perhaps my finger had slipped. So I entered my passcode again -- and this time correctly, I'm nearly certain. Still my iPad wouldn't take it and asked me to re-enter it.
Not thinking I could have changed my passcode (and how could I have if, according my iPad, I never entered my old one correctly?), I let my iPad go into Sleep mode and returned to work on something else.
And now I can't unlock my iPad. I put in my passcode, and the thing won't take it. Disabled for 60 minutes at this point.

Hmm, I did receive an email saying that the thread was deleted, but did not explain why for some reason. It sounds like the Level 7 guy caused this. I will call Apple tomorrow to find out who is responsible. And see if I can lodge a complaint against that user. Maybe it was because of what the Level 7 guy was saying.
There was useful information posted in that threat that addressed the issue that I am experiencing. I will try to reiterate from the apple website, it says.
    Recovery mode
If you've never synced your device with iTunes, or haven't set up Find My iPhone, you'll need to put your device in recovery mode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
This will erase the device and its passcode.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button, then "slide to power off" to turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button and plug the device into your computer. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. Don't release the Home button.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK. Then restore the device.
If your device doesn't go into recovery mode, try steps 1–4 again.
They suggested that I try this over again until it works. It did not work for me the first time.

  • My 6  is not allowing me access to icloud nor to any of my email addresses.  I've tried to reset it but it is asking me for my 'restrictions' passcode and I never set one up. What should I do?

My 6+ iphone is not allowing me to access icloud nor any of my email accounts.  I've tried to reset it but it asks for my 'restrictions' passcode which I

    Hi nadzpad,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your iPhone 6 Plus. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing or describing. If you are being asked for a Restrictions password, you may find the following article helpful:

  • I wish to reset my ipad.  However, when I selectGeneral Reset Erase all content and Settings, I am prompted for a a Restrictions Passcode (which I have never set).  I have now entered random codes 11 times and the ipad not reset. How do I get past this?

I wish to reset my ipad (as advised by the Apple Store) to attempt to resolve an issue with a non-responsive part of the screen..  However, when I select General>Reset>Erase all content and Settings, I am prompted for a a Restrictions Passcode (which I have never set).  I have now entered random codes 11 times and the ipad has not reset. How do I get past this?  I am now at the point where I have to wait 60 mins before I can enter another random passcode.  I just want the ipad to clear down, erase everything so I can start again.

The other option is to force iPad into Recovery Mode.

  • My passcode is working to unlock the screen but does not work with restriction passcode. Should they be different?

My passcode is working to unlock the screen but does not work with restriction passcode.
Tried it several times but it did not work, though i can use the phone and all features even after 13 failed attempts.
Should restriction passcode be different from what i set?

There is no default restriction password. If you didn't set it someone else may have. If you can't find it then you may have to follow the steps here:
Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or ...
Do you have a backup which might not have this restriction passcode? If so restore to that backup?
