Restrictions passcode~reset

I want to rest my restrictions passcode and I tried watching many youtube videos on how to do so but all of them told me to download icopybot which I don't to do, so is there any way I can reset my restrictions passcode without icopybot.

The only way is to restore your phone and set it up as New. There were other ways, but Apple has fixed the known loopholes. If there were an easy way there would be no point in having a Restrictions passcode, as any reasonably smart kid, the one you set the restriction to protect, would find it.

  • Will my Restrictions passcode reset if I restore my iPod touch?

Any suggestion or idea is fine as long as it doesnt get too complicated or confusing. Please and thank you.

If you restore the iPod from a backup that was made whn the Restrictions passcode was on the iPod the Restrictions passcode will also be restored.

    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • Ipad resetting the restrictions passcode

I need to reset my passcode in Settings/General/Restrictions on my iPad. Is there any way to do that?

    HI King Penguin!
I have a problem with my iPad 2
I have been wanting to switch off my restrictions passcode but I can't do that because I have forgotten the passcode! Now looking at your recent posts to help another person, I can't seem to delete all of my data on my iPad because I have "foolishly" restrict it with the passcode I can't remember. Now is there anyway were I would be able to reset my restrictions passcode in any means possible! All I want is to have my restrictions passcode reset completely, and I don't care if I have delete everything from my iPad in order to accomplish what I want to do!
I have tried to guess but I have guess incorrectly about 19 times and it's really getting on my nerves, especially if I want to download a a game from the App Store which is age restricted but I am the correct age to have that game!
    Please could you help
Thank you for your time, Crypt.....

  • My 6  is not allowing me access to icloud nor to any of my email addresses.  I've tried to reset it but it is asking me for my 'restrictions' passcode and I never set one up. What should I do?

My 6+ iphone is not allowing me to access icloud nor any of my email accounts.  I've tried to reset it but it asks for my 'restrictions' passcode which I
did not set up.  I can't reset it via itunes either because it says I have to turn 'find my iphone' off but it is off.  What should I do please?

    Hi nadzpad,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your iPhone 6 Plus. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing or describing. If you are being asked for a Restrictions password, you may find the following article helpful:

  • How do I reset an iPad 2 to factory defaults when I can't recall the Restriction passcode?

I have tried all of the suggested reset methods and still cannot reset to factory defaults. Somehow I setup a restrictions passcode that I can't find or remember so I seem to bee stuck.
    Does anyone have a solution?

The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings.
Follow the instructions in  iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.
     Cheers, Tom

  • I wish to reset my ipad.  However, when I selectGeneral Reset Erase all content and Settings, I am prompted for a a Restrictions Passcode (which I have never set).  I have now entered random codes 11 times and the ipad not reset. How do I get past this?

I wish to reset my ipad (as advised by the Apple Store) to attempt to resolve an issue with a non-responsive part of the screen..  However, when I select General>Reset>Erase all content and Settings, I am prompted for a a Restrictions Passcode (which I have never set).  I have now entered random codes 11 times and the ipad has not reset. How do I get past this?  I am now at the point where I have to wait 60 mins before I can enter another random passcode.  I just want the ipad to clear down, erase everything so I can start again.

The other option is to force iPad into Recovery Mode.

  • HT201304 ? I have forgotten my restrictions passcode and can't make any changes. I have already did a reset with iTunes but it still didn't help. The restrictions lock is still there.

I set a restrictions passcode and have completely forgotten it. I have tried to reset with iTunes but it just clears out my phone and when I turn it back on its still locked in the restrictions menu. U can't do a reset on your phone without it... So I don't know what to do.. Help!!!

    There is no default code.
    - Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes. For how to restore: iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    You have to either:
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • How do I reset a forgotten restrictions passcode

About 3 years ago I took my old iPhone 4 up to get it's photos transferred to my next phone, they set my restrictions passcode on and it took away several of my favorite features (assistive touch, action movie fx, store, etc) they gave me the password and I put it on my computer, since then my computer crashed and Only the most important files were recovered.  I can't reset the phone because that's restricted.  I am thinking about turning on my login passcode and the 10 times reset feature, but that's going to take a very long time because after 3 failed attempts it starts disabling the phone for longer and longer durations.  I backed up my phone on my computer but I don't know if it backed up my restrictions passcode or not, I have a mac mini if that means anything, my computer is capable of reseting my phone, but I am currently at my grandparents house and don't have access to my computer and my Grandpa's computer that he let's me use is so slow that recovery mode will shut off like 6 times before that computer could do that.  Let me know if you have any suggestions and thank you in response

    Hi
Unfortunately you cannot find out the restrictions code on the phone they only way would be to restore via itunes on your usual syncing computer, if you connect and click restore it should skip through the password but note it will download the lastest ios version and update.
    Hope this helps

I New to reset my opine 4s and can't because I don't have a computer and it says I have to have a restriction passcode and I don't know it. Please help.

The short answer is, you don't.
The long answer is, you'll either need to get access to a computer and use Find my iPhone on iCloud.com to erase the phone or put the phone into recovery mode and restore it using iTunes.

  • How to reset restrictions Passcode if it is forgotten?

How do you reset your Restrictions Passcode if you have forgotten it?

    Recover Restrictions Passcode.

    5. How to Recover Forgotten iPhone Restrictions Passcode | The iPhone and iPad
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the
Back Up option. If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary
              to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore or have forgotten your restrictions passcode, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code or as a New device, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

hello. i forgot my restriction passcode. i havn't back up so i can restore. i want to reset my iPhone4 as new.. please help me.. please???

The Restrictions passcode is part of the backup, so you would not want to restore from backup. To restore as new, just connect the phone to the computer and iTunes, and restore. If you cannot just click on restore, you may need to put the device into recovery mode. Search for infomation on that.

  • HT1430 How can I reset my forgotten restrictions passcode?

How can I reset my forgotten restrictions passcode?

You need to restore the iPad as a new device and not restore the backup, if the backup contains the restrictions passcode. If the a kip does not contain the passcode, you can restore it after you restore to factory settings.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
There are also third party apps that claim to be able to recover your passcode for you. If you want to look at any of those just do a Google search "forgot iPad restrictions passcode".
