Resubmit Feed/Reinstate Feed?

Hi,
I guess since I wasn't active on my old blog for very long time, my podcast channel was removed from the itunes store? Well, I have resubmitted my old RSS address [feed://vintagenewscast.com/?feed=rss2], but I have been waiting for over three weeks with no reply. I kept resubmitting, but itunes says "it's been submited already". Is there another procedure to get my feed reinstated? Or is it that Apple takes a longer time to approve podcast channels now?
Thanks..

I mean the title. If you can change the URL conveniently as well that might help, but you certainly need to change the title.
There isn't any hard and fast answer about the reason for removal - my own podcast hasn't been touched for three years - but I'm not even sure this is the reason, I'm just guessing. The only other reason (other than technical problems) might be a concern about copyright, though most of your material seems pretty old - I've not actually looked at any media files.
There don't seem to be any technical problems except that the server is being a bit slow to respond, though I wouldn't have thought slow enough to cause iTunes to see it as a connection failure.

  • Why SP2013 generate RSS feed subscription link with feeds:// not feed://

We are using SP2013 enterprise on-premise. Our users are using IE9. On any list or document library, click on top ribbon "List" -> RSS feed, it will goto a page with URL like
    /_layouts/15/listfeed.aspx?List=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
On the page there is a link "Subscribe this RSS feed". The link is redirecting to feeds://xxxxxxx. On my IE9 it throw a "web page cannot display" error. After some finding I think the protocol should be feed:// not feeds://. Is it a bug
for SP2013 or MS do it by purpose?

    Hi Mark,
Did you configure SSL for SharePoint web application(using https URL)?
It seems that the feed protocol will change to feeds when you enable SSL for SharePoint web application.
Please make sure that the Outlook 2013(office 2013) is installed in your environment.
If not, install it and then compare the results.

  • Made an error while changing the URL of the feed. Feed now unavailable

    Heya all
I have a Podcast which is as well in the iTunes Store. When I upgraded my software the URL for the link changed. Easy, just put a redirect there and ping the feed so iTunes can update it. Worked as it should. There is only one problem - I put a wrong new URL into the redirect: I forgot to add a / after the domain name. Now I can not correct it as the new URL is a corrupt one and can't be reached at all.
    iTunes Link: http://itunes.apple.com/ch/podcast/predigtcast-des-heilsarmee/id348536381
    Podcast ID: 348536381
    corrupt Podcast URL:
    http://predigten.homeip.netindex.php?option=com_sermonspeaker&view=feed&feed=RSS 2.0&tmpl=component
    correct Podcast URL would be:
    http://predigten.homeip.net/index.php?option=com_sermonspeaker&view=feed&feed=RS S2.0&tmpl=component
As you can see the URL is missing the '/' between 'predigten.homeip.net' and 'index.php...'
Is there anything that can be done? Would be a pity to resubmit the feed and loose the subscribers.
    Greetings
    Thomas

You could try contacting iTunes Support and explaining the situation, and ask them if they can redirect iTunes to the correct URL. I have to say that I don't think it's terribly likely they will do this - on the whole they tend to respond with form answers or send people back to this forum - but you can't lose anything by asking: I'm afraid it's your only option other than starting again from scratch. (If you do manage to get them to do this please do let us know for future reference - this problem arises from time to time.)
iTunes support, for problems with podcasts, is at
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.

  • Yammer open graph feed, "The feed you've requested does not exist."

When using the open graph embed feed for a page on which there are no comments yet, I am getting "The feed you've requested does not exist." in the embed frame. Once I post a comment (which works fine), the message disappears. I see the
same in the https://www.yammer.com/widget/configure page. Is this an issue that can be resolved on the Yammer end?

    Hi,
which is your environment, SharePoint Server 2013 or SharePoint Online?
For Yammer Embed to work, your SharePoint environment must satisfy the following prerequisites:
Your organization should have an active Yammer network (for example: www.yammer.com/contoso.com)
Your SharePoint farm admin should choose Yammer.com service as the default enterprise social collaboration   platform. Set this option in the SharePoint admin center for SharePoint Online and in SharePoint Central Administration for on-premises
SharePoint Server 2013.   Choose the yammer.com service and wait for 30 minutes before moving on to the next step.

  • 3GP feed - The feed has no episodes

    Hey iTuners,
Can someone please help me work out why the feed at:
    http://www.oneminuteworld.com/omw-rss.xml
Works in itunes when you subscribe manually, but thinks there's no episodes when I try to submit it to the podcast directory?
    Thanks!

.3gp files are often playable in iTunes or Quicktime, but it's not a filetype that iTunes podcasting formally supports. Use Quicktime or another tool to convert from 3gp to mov (or m4v or mp4) file type and it will be visible to the iTunes signup process when you submit the podcast.

  • How do I move my feed URL?

According to the Tech Specs page on the Apple site for Podcasting, it's possible to move your feed to another host without having to resubmit the new feed to iTunes. This is what it says...
"Podcasters occasionally need to move their feed from one location to another. In this case, you should not remove your feed. If possible, you should set your web server to return a 301 error and redirect when receiving a request for the old feed. Doing so will cause both the iTunes Music Store and the iTunes clients that have subscribed to your podcast to pick up the new feed URL."
This is great! I have just republished my podcast to a different server and now want to tell the world (including iTunes) about it. Apparently, all I have to do is put in the <itunes:new-feed-url>
FYI my old feed is: http://homepage.mac.com/ghreynolds/GuarroCasts/podcast.xml
    My new feed is: http://guarro.jellycast.com/pod/podcast.xml
It seems that the Spec sheet that I'm reading from assumes that I'm brighter than what I really am. I don't understand how to do it. It says...
"This tag allows you to change the URL where the podcast feed is located. It is added at the <channel> level. The feed format is: <itunes:new-feed-url>http://newlocation.com/example.rss</itunes:new-feed-url>"
Where is the <channel> level? Where do I enter this information?
Also, do I tag this on the end of my old feed? If so, where do I put it so that iTunes sees it as an update?
I'm very confused and I'm sure it's an easy answer.
    Someone help me??

I use Podcast Maker to upload my Podcasts with and I asked them. They knew what I was on about and did it for me quickly and easily.

  • Two id's point to the same feed

Hi, we are from Italy, and maybe someone here can help:
    The facts:
We have since 2005 an audio podcast and we obtained from iTunes an ID linked to this feed: http://www.feltrinellieditore.it/fs/podcast-xml/fpodcast.xml
In 2007 we opened a second podcast (video) and we obtained from iTunes another ID and originally linked to this feed: http://www.feltrinellieditore.it/fs/podcast-xml/fpodcast_video.xml
For unknown reasons the second podcast now points to the first xml feed (http://www.feltrinellieditore.it/fs/podcast-xml/fpodcast.xml). So the second one (the videopodcast) disappeared and if you check the two ID's you'll notice that you get 2 equal channels.
Can anyone help? Our aim is to back-up the previous situation with 2 separated channels.
We have just wrote to the support, hoping they will reply
    thanks

Both of your feeds include an unnecessary 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag. This is used when you want to redirect iTunes to a different feed. In each case the tag contains the URL of the feed it is actually in and so it's completely redundant.
The feed at http://www.feltrinellieditore.it/fs/podcast-xml/fpodcast_video.xml contains the tag
    <itunes:new-feed-url>http://www.feltrinellieditore.it/fs/podcast-xml/fpodcast_video.xml</itunes:new-feed-url>
I suspect that at some stage, perhaps when you created it, it contained the URL of the first feed (perhaps you copied the original feed to use as a template - always a dodgy idea), and that by the time you had changed it iTunes had already switched that podcast ID to the first feed.
(For reference, the two feeds' Store URLs are
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/radio-feltrinelli/id84983267
    and
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/radio-feltrinelli/id256773836 )
You have now painted yourself into a corner. You can't use the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag to redirect to the video feed, as it would affect both versions and you would be back where you started.
You could ask the Store to change the feed in use for the second podcast ID: someone did manage to get them to change a feed when he couldn't access the feed to add the redirect, and you could try this, but I honestly don't hold out a lot of hope for this. iTunes support is at
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.
Your only other method is to ask iTunes to remove the second podcast (256773836) altogether - the process is described here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#removing
You would then resubmit the second feed and start all over again. And I should remove those 'itunes:new-feed-url' tags.

  • Podcast feed problem

I have a podcast, Worship Ministry Catalyst, that used to be available for search & download via the iTunes store, I got an email saying there was a problem with the feed. I followed all the steps to fix the problem, checked to make sure my feed would work in iTunes per the suggested steps in the email and it does in fact work again. I then have resubmitted the podcast to the directory, as I was instructed to do so through and email from apple, but haven't gotten any response. I need to see what I need to do to get that back in the store.
I submitted an email to support and got this response:
    1) Change the title and link fields of the RSS feed to something other than what they are now.
    2) Resubmit the podcast feed via iTunes.
    3) Once you have successfully submitted the podcast, you can change the title and link fields back to what they were.
The problem is, I don't want to change our feed, as we have many subscribers already on that feed. And I can't find anywhere through itunes that I can change it anyway.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you submit a feed the iTunes Store initially checks only the top episode of the feed. Your has no media file enclosed or even references. iTunes does not display episodes which have no media files, and as it cannot see a media file in the top episode is it returning the error you see.
You can have a mixture of episodes with and without media files in your feed if you wish: as said, iTunes will not display those with no media files; but when submitting your top episode must have a media file.

  • Transferred feed not updating new episodes..?

    Hi!
A few years ago I started a podcast, got it online w/iTunes, and all was well.  But after a time the show went on hiatus.  After a year or two I began revamping the show, put up a new blog, transferred the data from the old blog to the new, transferred the feeds via Feedburner, and all seemed to be okay.  And now that the show's begun again, I can see the new ep. on the RSS feed, but it's not coming up at all in the iTunes store.  Thinking I might have to resubmit the URL, iTunes told me the feed was already in use, so.. I'm guessing the feed transferred correctly.  Now I'm just wondering if there's anything else I have to to do to facilitate the transfer, make it take on iTunes, etc., so the new eps show up as they get published.
The blog (and feed) is through Blogger, at http://eclectipod.blogspot.com/
And the Feedburner URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/eclectipod (or http://feeds.feedburner.com/eclectipod?format=xml
I guess you could so all signs point to "go," but for some reason it's just not showing up in the iTunes store.
(Also, as I'm like 3 years out of practice, any pointers on editing what's seen in the iTunes store would be great too- like image, credits, etc.)
    Thanks so Much!
    Y.

Eee!  You're a genius!  I changed the name in the General Settings tab in Blogger, and that allowed me to re-submit the feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/eclectipod?format=xml), so it would be accepted for review by iTunes!   Now I only hope they'll accept it, and combine it w/the old data on the original feed, instead of either deleting the old one, or denying the new.  -And at some point, I also have to find out how ACCESS and EDIT my XML code, so I can do all the tag editing that iTunes talks about (but seems to take for granted that people can get/have access to. ;P)   -Cause I have NO idea how to edit my XML feed itself.  (To say.. put the <item> tags in that they discuss in their Podcasting instructions, or remove the ugly "CC" image that's at the top of my feed.  It's statement is accurate enough, but that image keeps coming up in the Podcast Pickle Player instead of my show's main icon, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to alter that.)
Thank you SO very much.  All this podcast meta tagging, altering and such can be SO frustrating.  (And I'm normally a pretty geeky, web-savvy girl, so this has been driving me NUTS. *lol*)  You rock!

  • ITunes not updating RSS feed.

I am hoping someone will be able to help me figure this out:
After a hiatus of several months, I have started releasing new podcast episodes. The last episode in the iTunes store directory was Nov. 14, 2012.
In the last week I have released 2 new episodes, but since the content was time sensitive I backdated them. I changed the Nov. 14 podcast to July 20 and then added a September 15 and a February 22, 2013 episode.
The changes show up through iTunes software, but not in the iTunes store. It still shows the last episode as being Nov. 14, 2012. It has been 4 going on 5 days without any changes.
Also, iTunes is not displaying my podcast logo, even though I have uploaded a 1400 X 1400 jpeg.
I have checked and the podcast feed validates without a problem.
I am at a loss as to what to look for or try next. If anyone has any ideas I would be very appreciative for any advice.

    Hi Roger,
I contacted Apple and received this confusing reply (cut and paste below). It is confusing on 2 counts; 1) My feed validates just fine and 2) within minutes of receiving it, iTunes updated my feed to show 2 missing episodes.
Still, the artwork is not showing and I posted another (backdated) episode over a week ago and it still hasn't shown up in the store yet either.
I am wondering if I should resubmit my feed as the Apple support email suggests but do not want to loose my current subscribers.
    Any thoughts?
This is the email I received from Apple:
    Dear Malcolm,
Welcome to iTunes Store Customer Support. My name is Abdul and I will be happy to assist you.
I'm sorry to hear that you have been unable to get your podcast listed on the iTunes Store. Addressing your concern is important to me.
Malcolm, it appears that your podcast's RSS feed is not validating. To help find the problem, you may want to use a feed validator, such as this one:
    http://www.feedvalidator.org
You can get help with many specific issues, learn how to test a feed, and view a sample feed in the iTunes Making a Podcast page:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html
If you can successfully subscribe to your podcast and listen to each of the episodes, try resubmitting the feed to the iTunes Store. If you receive a message that the feed has already been submitted, the iTunes Store is detecting that the podcast is a duplicate. Please follow these steps to resubmit the podcast:
    1) Change the title and link fields of your RSS feed to something other than what they are now.
    2) Resubmit the podcast feed via iTunes.
    3) Once you have successfully submitted the podcast, you can change the title and link fields back to what they were.
If you're still having trouble, consider consulting the Apple Discussions forums, which have a wealth of information about specific issues. Click Producing Podcasts in the Pro Digital Production area of this page: http://discussions.apple.com
I hope the above information will help you.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
    Have a nice day!
    Sincerely,
    Abdul
