Resubmit Feed to iTunes

Hello,
I am having a problem with my podcast feeds.  My websites were removed via goDaddy recently.  I rebuilt the sites and uploaded all audio.  My podcasts were removed from the iTunes directory and when I try to resubmit my feeds to iTunes it tells me that the "feed has already been submitted".  The Blubrry feed works well after restoration but iTunes is a problem.  Please help...sites are below.

Thank you!

You've fallen over a bug in the automated part of the submissions process whereby you are told a feed has already been submitted even if it was subsequently rejected or removed. The workaround is to change the title slightly - you can change it back once accepted provided doing so does not change the feed URL. If you can change the feed filename, and hence its URL, this is also a good idea, as is changing the URL in the 'link' tag (this can easily be changed back afterwards).
The feeds themselves appear to be fine and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes (this is something you can do to check they are OK - if you do it after adding each new episode you will find out quickly if there is a problem).

  • Need to resubmit feed to iTunes store

i needed to install and update to my site's blog, where i publish my podcast.
    the feed is http://tdjacobs.com/blog/?feed=podcast
the old episodes are still in itunes but new ones are not there. the blog is now updated to the new version and i need to resubmit the feed. itunes says this feed has already been submitted...which of course it has.
i sent the issue to apple support and got a reply i don't know what to do with. it said to change the title and links of the feed, resubmit it, and then once it is accepted, change them back. i have no idea how to change the title and links.
is there a simple way to do this?
    any help out there?
    thanks,
    tom

You have two different feeds running. The one you linked to above is
    http://tdjacobs.com/blog/?feed=podcast
and this contains episodes 11-21. However the feed which is being used by the Store is
    http://tdjacobs.com/blog/?feed=rss2
and this contains only episodes 19-21, and these episodes also show in the Store.
So both feeds have the latest three episodes, but the earlier episodes show only in the feed which iTunes is not using.
So you need to do one of two things. You could revert to keeping the second feed I list up to date, and then whatever is in that is what will appear in iTunes. Or you could redirect iTunes to the first feed I list, the one you originally linked to. However in order to do this you need to add a special tag to the feed iTunes is using, and I don't know whether you will be able to do that if you are using WordPress - possibly you could download the feed, add the tag, and reupload it. The method is described here.
Unfortunately the feed iTunes is using, though it is reading it, lacks a declaration in the top section without which the redirect probably won't work. You need to add the line
    xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd
within the rss tag so that the top of the feed reads like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rss version="2.0"
    xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"
    xmlns:wfw="http://wellformedweb.org/CommentAPI/"
    xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"
    xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom"
    xmlns:sy="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/syndication/"
    xmlns:slash="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/slash/"
    xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd">
You are the second person in the last couple of days who has a mixup with a Wordpress podcast - I think what is happening is a mixup between the rss feed for the podcast and the one for the blog - you may have submitted the latter in error. I'm afraid I can't advise on exactly how you would do all this in WordPress.

  • Resummiting the feed for Itunes podcasting

I use Podbean for summiting my podcast on iTunes, I accidentally pressed the block podcasting to “yes”. It deleted my podcast from iTunes, I am trying to resubmit the feed but iTunes is giving me error telling me that the feed already exists. I am not in a position to change the name of the feed. Is there any other way to resubmit the feed back to iTunes?

It's very frustrating for you, but you've done all you can with the feed, which looks fine. The only thing I can suggest is that you try getting help at [email protected] , but I have no idea how likely they are to respond.

  • I am unable to submit my RSS feed into iTunes

Podcast RSS feed not being accepted by iTunes
I have registered my main podcast RSS feed in iTunes successfully. I want to migrate this RSS feed from feedburner to PowerPress, but I want to prototype it first before I move the real feed. To that end, I created another Blogger blog site and Feedburner rss feed that has the same settings as my main feed. The feed is using SmartCast to configure the RSS feed for iTunes compatibility. I cannot get the test feed to load into iTunes though. I get this error message:
Podcast cover art must be at least 1400x1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.
I had the artist give me a 1400x1400 pixel version of the logo in RGB color space (I’m not sure how to verify this).  Here is a link to the logo, if anyone can tell by looking at the picture or site what is wrong that needs to be fixed. http://s24.postimg.org/lvuuf7v91/ARP_logo_i_Tunes.jpg
I have read as many forum posts as I can to try and solve this issue and nothing has worked so far. Can someone tell me what is wrong with my image or RSS feed that is causing iTunes to reject the feed?
    Here is the RSS feed:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" media="screen" href="/~d/styles/rss2enclosuresfull.xsl"?>

  • ITunes showing broken chain link image instead of feed or iTunes tag image.

    Hello,
I am the owner of this podcast & I have been experiencing issues with trying to get iTunes to show my new site image. Originaly the feed was using a generic Wordpress image for the podcast's page and for the podcast's image in the store. Ever since I have changed images by first changing the feed image, the generic Wordprss image still shows for the podcast's store image and the podcast's page image changed to a large white background with a chain having a broken link in the middle of it.
I assumed that this meant the url for the new image was corrupt or something was wrong w/ the XML code, so I imediately switched back to the previous Wordpress image & configuration. This did not fix the problem, so I went in and then changed it back to the new one and tested the url for the feed image tag and the itunes image tag. Both urls for both tags bring all browsers to the image at that location. I then went ahead & started checking the XML code against all the validators out there, and the feed's code was passing all of them with NO mention of any issues regarding the image tags (this includes validation tests against the original feed at Wordpress.com). I know the feed is still working in iTunes because iTunes shows changes to other components to the feed like episode descriptions, new episodes & etc..
I also know that the image is fine, because I attached it to the ID3 tag for the most recent episode, (19), and the coverflow, plus the podcast thumnail view both show the image perfectly.
I have also compared my tags w/ the tags of other podcasters I know whose images are working properly in iTunes.
I feel I have done everything in my power to verify that all of my settings are configured correctly at this point. Unless there is something I have missed that you can point me too, can you please take a look at your end to see if there is anything corrupted in iTunes regarding my podcast that is preventing image updates to occur according to specs?
Please help as soon as possible because this issue has been occuring for the past 4 days with no end in sight. As a result of this issue, people who are seeing my podcast's page are going to be under the impression that it is broken and no longer working for them to subscribe to.
    Thanks for your time,
    John D'Agnese

    Hi,
I'm having a similar or near problem with the service under:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/
Actually, we are using the services for search and lookup, respectively:
    http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsSea rch?
    http://ax.phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsSearch?
    http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsLoo kup?id=
    http://ax.phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsLookup?id=
But, we didn't found any forum or other questin repository about the API.
Trancing the routes for DNS, the host and WebObjects server responds fine. But, the service package http://ax.phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/* is so much instable. Sometimes, this responds normally, but often it's not working well.
The problem was detected in Feb 4, but maybe its started in Feb 3.
Can anybody help me or can redirect me for the correct forum to discuss this issue?
Thanks a lot for this forum entry,

  • Podcast feed in iTunes Store hasn't updated since January!

    Hi,
Our podcast feed which we have been running for over a year now stopped updating in iTunes Store and is still showing the latest podcast as Jan 2013 even though we put out 3 new episodes a week. If you are subscribed it works but people keep reporting to us about the iTS being months behind and it is bothering my employer.
Our server was running slow and I have since fixed the problem and it made no difference.
I reported a problem with the feed in iTunes and it made no difference.
I relocated the feed to another server using a different system and url which is much faster using 301 redirect and placed all files on a high speed cdn but this has made no difference either... Also updated images too.
I reported the problem again to iTunes and nothing changed.
Help I need to get this sorted as I don't know what else to do!!!!! We can't start a new one as we have too many subscribers.
    iTS page: http://www.itunes.com/podcast?id=564972472
Old feed URL (301 redirect): http://nexuschurch.com.au/podcast-feed/feed.php
    New feed URL: http://www.nexuschurch.com.au/podcast.rss
    Thanks,
    Seth

Your Store page lists 68 episodes running from 12 Jan 1012 to 19 Jan 2013. Clicking on the 'Subscribe' button brings up the feed at
    http://www.nexuschurch.com.au/podcasts.rss
This feed has 15 episodes running from February 3 to 11 March this year. The old feed URL you give successfully redirects to the feed now in use in a browser, and evidently also when subscribing in iTunes; but it looks as if it is not working in the Store page. The correct method for redirecting a feed involves placing a special tag in the original feed and is outlined here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
According to Apple's own documentation a 301 redirect should work in the Store, but it looks as if for some reason it isn't.
All I can suggest is that you place a copy of the feed at the old URL, adding the redirect link as described in my page, and remove the 301. This should move the Store to the present feed - it will probably take a couple of days or so to catch up.
If for some reason you are unable to set up the feed at the old URL you can try emailing them at podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to move the Store - give them the Store page URL and both feed URLs.

  • Circular Redirect - Can't submit my feed to iTunes.

Hi. PLEASE Help! Anyone know what i am doing wrong? My feed works if i subscribe to it using the advanced feature in iTunes. WHen i try to submit, it says "We had difficulty reading this fee. Circular redirect to 'http://www.tmicast.com:80/la-hoops/'
My feed that works through advanced is: http://www.tmicast.com/la-hoops/?feed=rss2
    Thanks for the help.

Looking at the code, it appears that you do have a circular redirect of the actual feed itself.
You have a line that says:
    <itunes:new-feed-url>http://www.tmicast.com/la-hoops/?feed=rss2</itunes:new-feed-url>
That line is there to tell iTunes where to find the feed if you've changed URLs recently. However, in your case you have not. So, it goes to the feed and is told to redirect to itself then redirect to itself then redirect to itself...
Delete that line and you should be good.

  • Error submitting feed in itunes, But Feedvalidatororg says it's good

While trying to submit the feed in iTunes, it gives me an error message saying *error parsing feed: Invalid XML: Error on Line 1: The element type "META" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</META>"*
The feed has been validated by feedvalidator.org as shown below:
    http://www.feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload696.mediafire.co m%2Fncjmniyxnthg%2Fznijmzmalrj%2FEssentialTrance.rss
Is there something wrong that I am doing? This is the first time I'm doing this.
Thanks in advance for your time!

The URL of your feed, according to the FeedValidator page (which doesn't give me the same error it did you) is
    http://download696.mediafire.com/ncjmniyxnthg/znijmzmalrj/EssentialTrance.rss
Opening this in a browser produces a redirect to
    http://www.mediafire.com/?znijmzmalrj
which gives a link to download the file. This won't work in iTunes: you must give it a URL directly to the feed. The test is that if you open the URL in a browser it will treat it as rss and display the contents.
Although the extension of .rss will work it would be better if the extension was .xml

  • Replaced Podcast. Works on feed, but iTunes hasn't recognized it...Any ideas?

    Hello,
I'm having a problem and would appreciate any help. I accidentally exported an MP3 podcast file with one of the audio tracks turned off and uploaded it to my wordpress site without realizing it. I use Feedburner to create my feed that iTunes reads to get my podcasts and it worked out fine and put up my latest podcast. My friend let me know that I was missing something, so I fixed it and uploaded a new one with the same name and everything. It works fine in the feed, but the podcast has disappeared in iTunes. I assumed that it would and would eventually re-appear, but it has not. Any ideas?

    Sure.
Here is the URL to my feed:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/BOEG-EvilGeeksPodcasts
And here is the URL to my itunes store page:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/brotherhood-evil-geeks-transmissions/id59179 5202
What's even weirder is that my laptop is subscribed to the podcast and when I launched iTunes today it downloaded the new one with the updated audio, but it is not visable online or in the store itself. Its really odd?
    Thanks for your help Roger!

  • RSS Feeds into iTunes U

Our podcast feeds into iTunes U stopped working in January. However, the feed URL's work just fine outside of iTunes U. For example, our Engineering Works! series in iTunes U does not reflect new weekly content added since January. What steps should we take to make this feed work?
    http://engineeringworks.tamu.edu/?feed=rss2

If you go into iTunes to edit the course, edit the tab, there should be an error message telling you what / where there was a problem (if any). iTunes can be vague at times with these errors, so it is also helpful to validate the feed to see if anything is amiss. I use:
    http://www.feedvalidator.org/
which is much more strict than what iTunes U will accept. If there is no error, and it just times out, check for duplicate tags within the rss feed, broken URLs (ie, 'link'). If all is well, you could check with Apple.

  • Newbie podcaster struggling with submitting feed to iTunes--please help!

Hi, I have a new podcast (one episode so far). I've posted the audio file and show notes on a WordPress.org site at: http://www.workstewpodcast.com/
I have a link to this site from my main site (http://workstew.com/) which is in a WordPress.com template.
In the podcast site (i.e. the WordPress.org site) I installed the Blubrry/PowerPress plug-in and submitted the "recommended iTunes" feed to iTunes. The feed validates when I use the validator...but 1) when I use the iTunes Advanced 'subscribe' function, I see Work Stew Podcast show up in my list of podcasts but I can't download the actual episode and 2) I got an email from iTunes saying:
The podcast located at the URL shown below has been blocked or removed from the iTunes directory as a result of technical problems with the feed.
    Name: Work Stew Podcast
    Feed URL: http://www.workstewpodcast.com/?feed=podcast
What am I doing wrong? Would so appreciate any help in getting this whole iTunes thing sorted out!
    Kate

Your feed validates, and I can't see anything wrong with it. I just subscribed to it in iTunes and it worked fine, downloading the episode. There is currently no obvious reason why there should be a problem: but the fact that you were unable to get the episode to download suggests that perhaps the server was not responding at that time. Certainly a failure to access the media file would get your podcast rejected.
I don't know anything about blubrry.com - you could ask them whether there has been any technical problem. You do need a reliable server if you're going to run a podcast.
You should check it immediately before re-submitting to make sure it's working: you may be told that a podcast of that title has already been submitted (this is a minor bug in the system) in which case you will need to make a small change to the title - you can always change it back once it's been accepted, provided that changing the title doesn't change the feed URL (as for example it would in iWeb), so that's something you will need to check.

  • How Can I delete an RSS Feed in iTunes/podcasts?

I have an old rss feed that I want deleted in itunes. I have created a new rss feed and it's up and working great. I want the old one deleted.
I have used "Report a Concern" and asked itunes to delete the old feed, but nothing has happened. so I went to the files and renamed them all and re-pinged the page so itunes would realize that the feed no longer works, but that hasn't work either. I've searched the forum but can't seem to find out how to have itunes delete the old podcast feed.
    Any ideas?
I realize that I should have done this a different way, but I didn't know that then... I do now.

Just to confirm that you originally had a podcast accepted in the iTunes Store, and now you have had a second version accepted with a different Store URL? The procedure you have followed is the correct one, though I don't know how long it's likely to take the Store staff to get round to removing it. Just remove the original feed from the server: it will still show in the Store, which has cached it, but obviously subscribing won't work, and the absence of the feed may encourage the Store staff to remove the Store page.

  • Error when submitting podcast feed on iTunes

When I went to submit a podcast in iTunes, I received an error that said, "We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code: 500"
I have run my url file through www.feedvalidator.org for verification which state it is good. My url I am trying to submit is:
    http://www.sonlightchurch.org/mediaservices/channel310.xml
Can anyone tell me what might be the problem with this?
    Thanks.

Testing it by using iTunes menu Advancesd>Subscribe to Podcast works fine for me: please try that and see whether it works (what this does is to subscribe your own copy of iTunes to the feed without going through the iTunes Store, and it's a useful check as to the validity of the podcast).
If it works for you, then try submitting it again. If it still doesn't work then you will probably need to contact iTunes Support.
If testing it doesn't work for you then you have a local issue of some sort.

  • Trouble submitting my feed to itunes - 'submit' button doesn't work

itunes is not allowing me to submit my podcast.
I'm going to http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html then clicking on 'submit a podcast'
    I then enter:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheStartupStudio
the button that says 'continue' doesn't work when I put my mouse over it. But if I hit the enter key, it does take me to the next screen.
first problem: itunes is not picking up the most recent changes I made to my description
BIGGER PROBLEM: if I go to submit it and try to push 'submit' or hit the enter key, nothing happens. I have had this problem for weeks.
