Resubmitting a removed podcast.

I was creating a podcast for a client of mine, and decided to publish it to iTunes through my Apple ID in order to test it. Now that everything works fine, I want to re-submit it under my client's Apple ID. I successfully got it removed form the store using the <itunes:block> tag, but now every time I go to re-submit the feed, it says that the feed has already been submitted. I tried changing the Title and Link fields, as per a support request, but that still didn't allow me to submit it. I also cannot change the file name of the .xml file, as it is generated using a web-based application so that my client can add podcasts easily. How else can I get the podcast submitted? Thanks

Just try posting a new version of the feed (with <block> set to 'no', of course) to the same URL as before and see whether the iTunes Store picks it up. (Allow a few days). It may well do: if not, then I'm afraid re-submitting as a new podcast would involve a new feed name or new URL.

  • Remove podcasts from Artist  and Album list

It makes it difficult to select a particular artist if the large number of podcasts that are subscribed appear in the Artist and Album list. The way files are organized in iTunes this is not a problem- but in iPod it is a hassle. Is it possible to remove podcasts appearing in the Artist and Album list in iPod?

NO... I'm having the same issues and a quick search of the web reveals that Podcasts in 11.1 is COMPLEATLY BROKEN!!!
I've spent two days trying to fix this issue even including deleting all of my podcasts and restoring from the App Store and nothing works!!!

    Hi,
I cant seem to remove Podcasts on IPhone 4S that I downloaded on the IPhone.

  • Removing podcast feed from the directory

    Hello,
I have read up on how to remove a feed from the directory, but when I go to the store the option "is mine and I want it removed from the Music Store" is not present. Why would this be? Is there another way to remove a feed.
Also I want to remove this feed and replace it with one that has a similar title at a different URL. I want to change it from theantenna to The Antenna.
    Will this be a problem?
    best,
    a

Correct. There is no option for "is mine and I want it removed"...There is an option for "remove podcast" and a text box to explain. However, it's still up to the iTunes staff to remove the podcast and they seem to be quite slow in doing so.
Also supposedly if the feed no longer exists, they should remove the podcast from the directory.
Also, as an alternative, you might consider using the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag in you old feed's XML file at the old location to change the URL of your existing podcast to the new one. Change the <title> in the XML to change the title of your podcast, iTunes will pick up the change the next time it updates.

  • Podcast Favorite's List not removing podcasts

I have having some problems with my podcast favorites list. I cannot seem to be able to remove podcast from the list. When I click on "Remove from list" the option changes back to "Add to favorites", but when I go to the favorite's list all of those podcasts still show up.

I am experiencing the same issue. The latest update 2.3.1 did not fix it either. If I choose "Add to Favorites" it will simply add another instance of that podcast to my Favorites list, if I then choose "Remove from Favorites" it will only remove the new instance that was added, not the existing one that had been there all along.
    Cheers,
    Louis

  • How do I remove Podcast(s) from iTunes 12

My device is a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.9.5 Maverick and with iTunes 12.0.1.  I recently subscribed to a podcast that I was interested in.  Prior to subscribing, I set the Podcast settings to
    Limit Episodes>Off
    Download Episodes>Off
    Delete Played Episodes>On
Two days ago, the day I subscribed, I received 9 Updates, of those I downloaded two, and saved both.  Today, two days later, under 'Recent Updates", it still shows all nine episodes: I understood they would be removed or 'drop out' after 24 hours if not downloaded or saved.
In the "My Podcast" screen, I can right click on each episode and my options are, among others, "Mark as Unplayed" "Save Episode" and Download Podcast Episode"  I can change over to "Playlists" screen and have the same options, and get the same options when I click on the three dots to the right of each episode title.  I can't find any drop-downs, menus, other settings, etc that allow for manual deleting, or would indicate the episodes are miss marked in any way as to have reason to stay on the computer.  Is this a bug? or am I missing something?

Figured it out by accident.  When I disconnected by iPad, the Books section came up in iTunes and I saw the PDF's there.  I just clicked on the one's I wanted to delete and hit the Delete key.  They are now gone.  So easy.

  • Removing podcast episodes from iTunes 12 but keeping the files

I want to be able to remove a podcast episode from iTunes 12 but keep the audio file on my computer. This used to be an option, but now I am no longer asked if I want to keep the file. It's just automatically moved to the Trash. I like to archive podcast episodes on my external drive, but I don't always feel like getting the drive out when I'm done listening, plugging it in and dragging and dropping the files. I'm lazy like that. I would keep the episodes I plan to archive on iTunes until I feel like breaking out the drive, except that brings me to my second issue: my podcasts seem to all be set to automatically delete played episodes after 24 hours, at least depending on what view I'm in. I have "Delete Played Episodes" set to "Off" in my default podcast settings, and when I context click a podcast in the "My Podcasts" view and select "Podcast Settings" it says "Delete Played Episodes" is "Off". However when I go to the Playlists view, select an episode and click the "Settings..." button at the bottom, it always says the selected podcast has "Delete Played Episodes" set to "On", even if I click to change it to "Off" in that view. So there's obviously a contradiction there. I don't want to take the chance that my played episodes will be automatically deleted so the sooner I get them off iTunes the better. Unfortunately that means deleting them, then dragging them from Trash back to the iTunes Media/Podcasts folder and into each appropriate podcast folder, which is annoying. Please tell me that the removal of the "Keep the file" option is just a bug. If Apple is, for whatever reason, trying to discourage me from moving my played episodes out of iTunes and onto another drive, then I'm just going to stop using iTunes altogether.

The iTunes Store reads your feed at intervals and caches the contents (the information, not the actual media files): when you make a change to the feed it usually takes 1-2 days for this to be reflected in the Store. Pinging doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. Very occasionally it all slows down and can take several days.

  • Removing Podcasts from Nano Doesn't work!!!

OK Apple, what's going on? A quick search of this discussion area shows 34 pages of people having the same problem. Isn't it time to do something about it? GGGGRRRR!
I've tried sync'g my podcasts two different ways and in both cases, iTunes is updated properly, but the Nano itself is NEVER updated. The podcasts just sit there forever and I eventually get messages telling me that my Nano is out of space!!!
    method one:
Set the podcast folder in iTunes to update automatically,
set the podcast option to "keep all unplayed episodes"
I make sure that I scrub episodes all the way to the end, then update my Nano.
This correctly updates the podcast listing.
I then update the podcast listing and listened to episodes are correctly removed from itunes.
I then update the Nano and NOTHING HAPPENS. The episodes are left there!!!
    method two:
Set the podcast folder to manually update
create a smart playlist to include
all items with a genre of "podcast",
    limited to only 25 items,
    listed my most recently added.
I make sure that I scrub episodes all the way to the end, then update my Nano.
This correctly updates the smartplaylist & the podcast list.
I then update the podcast listing and listened to episodes are correctly removed from itunes.
    The smartplaylist is correctly updated
I then update the Nano new podcasts are sync'd, but the OLD ONES ARE LEFT BEHIND!!
The only thing that seems to work is to fully reinitalize my Nano. What a waste of time.
Come Apple, you've got the new word of the year in "Podcast" and yet your own software can't deal with them.
I'm not going to keep reformating my Nano every month. Windows Media Player & Xplay is looking better & better.

Then please help "the user" with his error! How can I possibly have it set up such that my smartlist on my Nano works properly, my smartlist in iTunes works properly, and my podcast section of iTunes works properly, but the podcasts are still left on the memory of the nano???
Here are my settings (you find the error!)
    1. Edit/Preferences/Podcasts:
    Check for new episodes: everyday
When new episodes are avialable: download all
    Keep: all unplayed episodes
    2. Edit/Preferences/iPod/Podcasts:
    Manually manage Podcasts
    3. Edit/Preferences/iPod/Music
    Automatically update selected playlist only:
    !Podcast
    4. Smart Playlist (called !Podcast):
Match ALL of the following rules
    Genre is Podcast
    Play count is 0
limit to 25 songs select by most recently added
    live update
So, with this set up I should:
    1. get all new podcasts and only keep those that are not listened to
    2. have no sync'd of podcasts based on "podcast" rules
    3. sync a Smart Playlist called "!Podcast"
    4. have a smart Playlist called "!Podcast" with only the 25 most recent songs in the genre "podcast"
    Where is the "user error"?
Sorry if I seem combative, but this is EVER frustrating.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Removed Podcast, Failing to Re Sumbit, Tried changeing name, Removed Podcast, Failing to Re Sumbit, Tried changeing name

I submitted a podcast a few weeks ago, but the title was wrong and I wanted to change some other things. Couldn't figure out how to do it. Emailing apple got no response. Then asked for podcast to be taken down so i could resubmit. Podcast was removed from store.
In attempting to resubmit the podcast I keep getting feed already exists errors, even though it is no longer in the store.
Tired changing Feed Name and Url many times. I am using Feed Burner.
Feed Title: Around the Trunk Podcast
    Original Feed: http://nightmaresofawriter.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
    Feed Adress: http://feeds.feedburner.com/AroundTheTrunkPodcast
    Orignal adress was: http://feeds.feedburner.com/AroundTheTrunk
I have tried many different options and name combinations for the Feed Address name with nothing working.
    Any help would appreciated.

There is a bug in the automated part of the submissions process which will tell you that a feed has already been submitted even if it's been removed from the Store. The workaround is to change the title, and if possible the link tag and the feed URL. You can always change the title back afterwards as long as doing so doesn't change the feed URL (it some cases it will and Blogger may be one of them, but if you are submitting the Feedburner version you can sort that out in Feedburner). You can't get round this by any other method.
If you create a weblog in Blogger the feed contain all the episodes, not just those with media: it's better for your podcast feed to be only podcasts and to keep a weblog separate. You could start an entirely new blog to be just the podcast, and keep the existing one for non-podcast episodes.
The 'enclosure' tag in the feed contains the URL of the media file and is required for iTunes. One of your episodes does have this - '1 - Gods Of Earth 09/02/12' - so whatever you did there is what you should be doing. Your descriptions in a podcast feed should be kept reasonably brief and shouldn't contain links - iTunes won't display them as working links.
You might find it helpful to look at my page on podcasting - http://rfwilmut.net/pc - which contains a sample basic feed. You aren't writing your own feed, and you can't amend the one you have directly, so it's not directly relevant: but it would just give you an idea of how the process works and what you should be looking for. I can't advise on the specifics of making a podcast in Blogger.

  • Can I remove podcast feeds on iPhone?

Hello. I've amassed quite a few podcast feeds on my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) and wanted to remove them to free up memory on the phone. (I don't syncy through iTunes on my mac, I download them direct to the phone.) I usually just swipe and delete and removed them all last night in this way. But now all podcasts and feeds appear ghosted and can't be played or swiped. The funny thing is, the memory seems to have been freed up, so although they appear ghosted on the phone, are not actually there. I just want to remove the whole list and start again. I've tried the Settings > Usage > Music > Edit route and podcasts ahev doisappeared too. Any ideas, anyone?

Sync iPhone to iTunes then delete them off iTunes then re-sync iphone via iTunes.

  • HT4623 how do you remove podcasts from the iPhone menu?

I subscribed to a podcast on the iPhone, (from the iPhone itself) but now can't seem to remove it.  Any ideas?  There doesn't seem to be a way
to unsubscribe from the podcasts on the iPhone or from iTunes.
I have all the latest software.
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks - but there are no episodes of the podcast itself.  It is the tile from the store that is clogging up space.  The podcasts themselves can be deleted - that's easy - but the subscription tile cannot - even though I am not subscribed anymore.
The podcasts are not on my syncing computer's iTunes either, so can't be removed that way either.

  • Remove podcast

I have a podcast showing up on my iPhone that I can't get rid of. It doesn't show in iTunes. And I deleted all the episodes and have gone in an unsubscribed. But it still shows up in the Podcast app on my iPhone.
How do I get rid of it?

Just incase anybody wants to know....
You click the "edit" button and then you get the standard "x" to remove. Why it doesn't have the same mechanism as apps I'll never know.

  • How can we remove podcasts with broken links?

The organization I work for has some old podcasts (2011) listed in iTunes; the links to all the MP3s are broken. No one in the organization has any idea who posted these items in the first place, so needless to say, we have no idea what account they're linked to. We'd just like for those podcasts to stop appearing in iTunes -- is there a way to flag the broken links so the podcasts don't show up any more?
    Thanks in advance.

The feed for that is still up at
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/RichardRohrHomilies
Ideally you should remove it, which would ensure it being removed from the Store (a cached version would show until they removed it) - however you will need the login to Feedburner to do this, which presumably you don't have. In that case you can only hope that the fact that none of the media files can be accessed will be sufficient.
The author is Father Richard Rohr at Holy Family Church, Albuquerque, and the 'Generator' (the technical source of the feed) is listed as the Center for Action and Contemplation.

  • How to remove podcasts ios5 through itunes10.5

I completed the upgrade to Itunes 10.5 and IOS 5 on a Verizon 4 phone and I was previously manually managing my podcasts through synching with the usb cord.  After the upgrade I no longer see the podcast symbol on my Iphone unless I insert a new podcast on to the phone.  If the phone synch's to Itunes after a fresh start, the podcast symbol and podcast are not visiable on the iphone.
Is there another way to delete the old played podcasts?  I was able to delete the podcast through the left to right swipe on the phone, but this seems inefficient.
If I use the auto sync feature, how do i remove the podcast after I have played them?  Simple uncheck the boxes?
    Any help is appreciated.
