Result analayis information

Hi all,
Till now we are not used result analysis for the service orders.
our scenario is Salesorder-service order-confirmation-TECO-DP90-Billing request-Billing document.
In what way KKA1 will help business and pl share it with me if possible with live example.

RA would be used only if accruals and deferrals of costs are required based on some valuation methods
In service orders, most of the orders are of short duration and usually finish within a month or so - meaning not like projects which take longer time to complete. In that context the need for RA in service orders may not be there.
You may of course have specific service order types where the duration spreads across over a few months and you should consider RA for those orders only. The transaction KKA1 will calculate the results based on your valuation method and provide the calculated data like calculated costs and calculated revenue for the period which will post to FI and will be reversed when the order is TECOed
eg consider an order where you will get revenue 100 only on completion say after 3 months
in the first month you would have incurred some costs say 25 against a total plan cost of 75 - what is the revenue you can assign against that expenditure - this is calculated by the system via KKA1 based on valuation method
cost based method
cal revenue = act cost/ plan cost * plan rev
                 = 25/75 * 100
                 = 33.33
So although you have not received any revenue the cal rev (based on work done) = 33.33
So that month you order made a profit of 33.33 - 25 = 8.33
