Result row display in a Bex query in BW

Hi ,
I have a problem where the result rows are not getting displayed for row where only one line is getting displayed.
Basically, in column i have a 2 columns one is a normal characteristic for customer and another is a hierarchy field (Product Hierarchy) against some key figures.
But , for a given customer and product hierarchy their is only one line occuring .
Here, the result line is not appearing .
This condition is appearing only where their is a single line comming up.But, where multiple lines are appearing , the result line is getting displayed.
The results are not visible at the level 1 when there is only one occurrence and even if the option in Query Designer is :- results rows is u201Calways displayu201D.
Is their any other setting i need to do in order to correct this.

hello Balaji,
i had a similar problem with a query.
in this query a resultline was never shown for a characteristic - even when i choose the option "ever show result line" for this characterstic.
which sap note did you apply?

Query with a condition - Overall results row displays incorrect value

Hi All,
I have a bw query with top 40 conditions. However, The Overall Result Row Figures Do Not Equal The Sum of the Column Rows.
Although the top condition is activated, the overall result still displays the overall result of the whole report.
I have 3 columns in the report
Selected Period
Prior Period and
Variance
The formula for variance is (Selected Period/Prior Period)-1.
Does anyone have an idea to fix this?

Thank you so much for your reply, however this does not solve fully the issue.
Changing the properties to "Summation" will indeed provide me with the correct sum for the "selected period" and "Prior Period." However what I need in the Overall Result Row for the "Variance" column is not the total but instead the value when the total of Selected Period is divided by Prior Period then minus 1.
Overall Variance = (Overall Selected Period/Overall Prior Period)-1
Do you know a way to make this possible.

Doubt on Rows and Coloums in BEx Query Designer.

Hello, Experts.
I have a Doubt in BEx Query Designer.
In the Rows I have a Fiscal year Period, if the user enters the Fiscal year period for e.g. : 001/2006 .
in the columns i have forecast for the Fiscal year period which user entered ( 001/2006 ),   and we have another column pervious ( Prior )fiscal year period ( 001/2005 ).
My Questions is , as we are Restricting with 001/2006 will the query retrieve the values of 2005 or not?

yes i am Doing Offest.
I moved this Fiscal year Period to Free char,   and i Restricted with Pervious Fical Year period and Fical year period . it worked. but
when i kept this in Rows and deleted Previous Fiscal Year period . it is displaying blanks.   in prior years forecast.
is it because i am Ristricting it to only fical year period which user entered
         Colums--> Forcast ( User Entered year )          Prior year

Junk characters displayed when viewing BEx query through WAD

Hello,
I am trying to display the results of a web report containing a BEx query through the "Execute in the Browser" option in WAD. But, junk Chinese characters keep showing up in the display. Also, if I try the same with one of the older web reports, they display fine. But, the moment I make a copy of these and execute without any modifications, the junk characters show up again.
I tried executing through RSRT and there my report works perfectly. So, what could be going wrong or am I missing something?

We figured it was related to the Unicode charset while I was going through the source code. I don't think there is any permanent fix yet. But, I followed the posting below and am trying to temporarily fix the error:

Count Rows before Excecution of BEx Query

Hi all,
I would appreciate it if someone could help me in the following matter:
I have a BEx query with a large number of rows / records (sometime about more than 100.000 rows) depending on the selection in the selection screen. I would like to count the number of rows of the selection before excedcuting this query in order to send an error message, so that the user needs to make a new selection with less rows due to the fact that we get short dumps. The problem I have, I cannot find a function module or something else to get the number of the selected rows.
Can anyone help me to solve this????

Hi all,
I have solved the problem. I have modeled a DSO with all data of all my Cubes and wrote a programm in the User-Exit for reporting variables that counts the selected rows before excecuting the query. A warning message is also programed, when the user choses too much rows.

is it possible to set whether to display the result row of each characterisitc on the 2004s Web report? On BW 3x web report, it is possible. But on 2004s, it seems not to be possible.

To get result as ratio in the BEX Query designer

Dear Experts,
I would like to know how can we give the result as a ratio rather than summation.
In our case , We have 5 vendors we have a 3 vendors as premium vendors 2 as non premium. I am getting the Premium vendors with value 1 and non premium as value 0 in the keyfigure. I want to get the result of this keyfigure as 2/5 = 0.4
(total premium vendor/ Total no of vendors) .
How can i achieve this. Kindly help on this.

Hi,
Create a counter on vendors. Change the CKF with definition as follows:
KF / counter.
So, for premium vendors it will be 1/1 = 1
for non premium vendors it will be 0/1 = 0
For the example given by you, In the result row you will get 3/5.
Note: in the result row it should be sum of KF / sum of counter otherwise it will simply display 3 in result row.
For that you might have to create a CKF on the KF with aggregation as summation and a similar CKF on counter with same aggregation.Then use these 2 CKFs in the formula with standard aggregation.

Issue in Result row display for free char drilled for query with structures

I have a structure in the Row with various calculated subtotals for e.g:
Total Interco sales(selection on some G/L accounts)
Total ext sales(selection on cost center+group accounts)
Total Revenue (formula in structure) = Total interco sales + Total ext sales
In the column I have the key figure called balance.The net effect of this is in the report out we have :
subtotal**********balance
Total interco sales*100
Total ext sales*****200
Total revenue*******300
This is fine in the initial layout ,but when there is further drill down say on the G/l account then the account numbers are repeated for total revenue as well .For e.g
*********************G/L account Balance
Total interco sales 11100********50
*********************12000********50
*********************result --->*****100
Total interco sales**11100********50
***********************12000********50
***********************Unassi******100
***********result---->**************200
Total revenue******11100********100
***********************12000********100

However the users dont want to see the g/l account break up for the total revenue in this case.i.e if g/l account is drilled down then only the break up should be seen for total interco sales & ext sales and not for revenue.i tried using supress individual result in case of total revenue but it was not helpful.Also building something like hierarchy with text nodes isnt feasible since there are a lot of subtotals with different char restrictions.Any ideas on how to achieve this?

There isnt a way to achieve this,but as a workaround we built selection in the structure.

Display Title in BEX query for Master Data Field

Hi All,
Appreciate if someone can assist me in this.
When we display query result, we will have results of master data field for as master data and Text, e.g Customer and customer text.
BEX display:
Header Line : Customer
Display Line : 90002011 Mary Kay
90002023 John Smith
For the header Line, we have title 'customer', can we have the title for 'Customer Description' instead of having it as a blank field.
Appreciate if someone can assist me in this, I cant find this issue posted by anyone.

Hi,
For one object you can not have seperate description for key and text.
Either you need to have seperate object. Check if your Customer object is having some name attribute then display cutomer key with name attribute so that there will be two object and you may change the description in report display.
If this is not possible then you may not have dirctly in reporting. You need to stage one more object in staging area with same cutomer field then one you may use as text the other one as key.

Display problem in BEx Query

Hi All,
i am having a strange problem when i execute a query in the BEx.
i am having a Master data infoobject C_PARTNR2 and it is having a compounding Char. C_ATTRIB.
Also it has some attributes like 0STREET60 and C_LINKO and several other characteristics.
the problem is - when i execute the Query it shows the two attributes ( 0STREET60 and C_LINKO ) with ' # ' values.
Whereas the data does exist in the P and S table of C_PARTNR2 infoobject. All other attributes are shown properly. but the above two attributes are shown with the ' # ' values.
Any idea if anybody has come across such a kind of problem ?.

Rows ino Columns using BEX query

I got DSO with declaration records. Every declaration can have several versions, say:
DECLR_ID VERSION   AMNT
1111                 01         1000
1111                 02         1100
1111                 03         1500
1112                 01         5000
1112                 02         4999
I need a query to compare final version with corrections (previuos to last versions). The result table must look like this:
DECLR_ID VERSION   CORR_AMNT      FINAL_AMNT        DIFF
1111                 01         1000                     1500                 500
1111                 02         1100                     1500                 400
1112                 01         5000                     4999                   -1
is it possible by query designer to get results like this by not using any InfoSet?

There is one possible provided if the version are less,
Create the restricted KF, for each version where in keep amount as common in all RKF. Then create the calculated KF again for getting the difference of Last version Restricted KF and starting Restricted KF and continue the same for remaining keeping the Last version Restricted KF as common.

Solution:
The program ID "IGS.CB3" of the IGS_RFC_DEST needs to match what is defined in the IGS XML profile..
Please use trannsaction "SM59" to make the change..

Result Row in the query output

Hi,
If I restrict a characteristic by hierarchy then I cant have the result row displayed. If the hierarchy active is removed then the result row gets displayed. All characteristics are marked to show the result row.
This characteristic is Account Number. If in the query definition I remove the restriction on account numbers and just select hierarchy active and the required hierarchy in the properties then I get the result row in the output. But now it also displays all the unassigned account numbers in a separate node Not Assigned Account Number (s).
I cant even restrict it in the output with hierarchy active selected. When I do select filter value in the output the options Include in Selection and exclude from Selection are grayed out and hence cant select it.
Please advice on this issue

I think you misunderstood my issue.
My problem is not that i do not want to see the field. But instead, i do not want to see only the results row in the query output.
I need to have the results to populate a calculation via sumct formula.
My question is, can sumct be populated if i hide/supress RESULT row ?

How to hide exception display on results row

I have an exception on my query, showing when the value of a certain formula is 1. I am hiding the results row display of that formula. It's being displayed as a hierarchy. The value doesn't show on the result nodes but the exception shows. How can I avoid the exception being shown on the result row?

In the Exceptions, Goto Cell Restrictions Change the Operates value to Everything Except Totals.
Then Exceptions will not be displayed for the Result Areas.

Query designer and Standard deviation result rows

Hello everyone,
Here is my problem.
I have a key figure for which I do not want any decimals. So in the Number Format : Number of Decimal Places = 0.
I thought the result rows would follow the same rules by not displaying any decimals.
But using the Calculate Result as ... "Standard Deviation", even though my key figure is define with no decimals, the result row displays 5 decimals anyway !
Why? and is there any way I can suppress the decimals of my results rows with a Standard Deviation

Hello Jean,
First I would try to unmark flag 'Use default Settings' below Number of Decimal Places in Query Designer.
If this doesn't help you could set Decimal Places in the Provider specific Properties in Key Figure of the MultiProvider used from 'Not defined' to 0.
Also you could change the number of decimals in InfoObject maintainance of used Key Figure (in RSA1).
But then you have to check other queries where this Key Figure is used.
