Just uploaded and converted my file using ExportPDF. Word file was created without issue. When it is opened all styles are maintained but text is jumbled:

My Office 2007 Word Files are all corrupted. Can't open any of them.

I can create and open new 2007 Word files. However, all my files prior to 10/27/2014 cannot be opened. I get a corrupted message. Says the file cannot be open because there are problems with the content. Then asks me if I want to
recover the content and when clicking yes, I get the same corrupted message. Something happened on 10/27/2014. I have three files in my Word directory that I did not create. One is an Internet shortcut called "Install_TOR" which
when accessed tries to bring up a site called paytordmbdekmizq.torpayusd.com'80314 but the Internet is unable to display the page.
The other two files have the same content; one in HTML and one in text. Both called Decrypt_Instruction. The content is:

Version 9 std - PDF embedding from Word files containing PDF linked files

High,
is this possible with the Version 9 Std?
If not, please indicate which upgrade I need.
I wanted to embed inside a PDF all the PDF that I hev embeded inside my Word file! (I mean, that these PDF are still readable,not only the logo PDF)

How would one convert Word files containing audio to a PC?

I'm not sure if it's possible, but how could I convert Word files that contain audio from a Mac laptop to a PC laptop? I really would appreciate any help, as I truly need these files for academic reasons. Thank you

My word files are all corrupted- when i open 'get info' under "More info" they all have 'Photos for Personal Use or Home Display" and Authors: technology

My Word files are corrupted. When I open 'Get Info' then 'More Info' I find 'Photos for Personal Use or Home Display' and 'Authors' : Technology. - Nothing to do with the file I'd just written. My most recent files can't be saved or opened.
Is this Malware or some other kind of attack? I grabbed photos yesterday from what seem to be freely available pictures online. I discovered Firevault and Firewall were both turned off. (I hadn't checked before.) Any suggestions?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Can't Convert Word File Containing Lotus Tables

I'm having an ongoing problem converting a specific type of Word document to .pdf format. My OS is Windows 7 Pro and I'm using Office/word 2007 and Acrobat 9 Standard with current updates, etc. Pretty much the only thing I use Acrobat for is straightforward conversion of Office documents to .pdf, and it always works well except in this particular instance.
I write routine reports in Word that include tables inserted from old Lotus (.wk4) files. To import the Lotus pages into my word document, I use Paste Special with the Picture - Windows Metafile option. This imports them just fine and is the only approach that works reliably. However, when I later attempt to convert this report to a .pdf file, the pages with the Lotus tables are garbled. Everthing else is perfectly fine. When I print these garbled pages, the hard copy looks excatly like what is on the screen.
I had the exact same problem with Acrobat 7 (my previous version) and I'm working with a fresh install of Acrobat 9 on a desktop computer that I built from scratch last month (new OS and everything). All these same problems occur on my laptop, in exactly the same way. As a check, I just tested this on my wife's XP-based desktop (with Acrobat 9 Standard, Office 2007, etc.) and it had the identical problem.
It appears to me that the issue I'm having is related to the specific images I'm importing into my word reports, not the version of Acrobat, the operating system, or anything else to do with the computers or installed software. At this point, I'm forced to pay for and use a conversion program by Nuance which works fine, but I'd much rather have Acrobat doing it's job for me.
Are there settings within Acrobat that might fix this problem? If anyone wants to test this using one of my documents, I can e-mail it to them. Thanks in advance for any help.

It's been quite a while since Acrobat worked for this particular application, probably several versions/years ago. I use the program for more general things and it works fine, but for these reports (which are very important to me) I've had to use the Nuance product, which works with no problems. I'd rather not switch over to that program, though. I'd much rather just get Acrobat to do what I imagine it shoudl be able to do.
BTW, this afternoon I tried changing some settings like unchecking "Convert Doc Info", "Create Bookmarks, etc.", and nothing improved. These are simple word documents with very little formatting, no links, nothing. It's just this one type of table that's failing. The tables end up being converted, but some of the numbers within the tables are all garbled. The bits of text within the tables are fine.
BTW, I'm using AA 9.5.5 and did yet another update this afternoon (to no avail).

Excel & Word file don't display text after 10.6.4 update

Installed 10.6.4 update last week on an iMac and the cells within my excel sheets went blank. The data is still there but do not show up on screen. Tried several variation of start up and even reinstalled Office only for problem to exist still. New documents will display text but most of my existing office documents appear blank.
So... Today I reinstalled snow leopard and my text was back & displaying until I ran the OS updates. Every thing was fine until 10.6.4 and poof!!! there went my text in office. This glitch even effects some existing word documents. Graphic, images and pdf's don't seem to be effected. Any body else having this problem?

I've been experiencing the same issue. I upgraded to 10.6.4 and I lost several fonts. The interesting thing is I also lost several power point images I had created. Shapes and lines were missing even though they did not involve the offending fonts, at least not directly. There was text elsewhere in the image that used it. Why this should obliterate the rest of the images I don't know.
The three offending Fonts for me were:
1) Times New Roman
2) Arial
3) Brush Script MT
Anywho, I managed to fix this on my machine so I'm posting how I did it here. I'm not so sure as to the why, but here it goes.
On my machine I have 4 font folders
1) -> System -> Library -> Fonts
2) -> Library -> Fonts
3) -> Users -> Me -> Library -> Fonts
4) -> Applications -> Office X -> Office -> Fonts (yes, I'm still running Office X from 2000)
Inside of the Font Book application, it was kind enough to point out I had duplicate fonts. Some of these were the fonts in question and others caused me no troubles. Go figure. Anyway, disabling one or the other of the duplicate fonts did not fix the problem.
Here's what did, though. In my case the duplicate fonts existed in the second of the font directories above (henceforth referred to as Font2) and the third of the font directories listed above (Font3). I browsed to these directories and copied the fonts to my desktop to have a back up. Back in Font Book, I told it to remove each instance of the Arial and Times New Roman fonts that would not display correctly in Excel (for the moment, I left Brush Script MT alone, kind of like a control)
Now at this point there were no Arial or Times New Roman fonts in my Font Book. Turns out they were removed from Font1, Font2 and Font3, so good thing I have a backup.
1) Opened up Excel. It did its font menu optimization thing and sure enough, I couldn't see anything.
2) I close Excel.
3) I double clicked on Times New Roman that I had in Font4. Font Book opened it and I chose to install it. It put it in my Font3 directory.
4) I opened up Excel. It did its font menu optimization thing. Suddenly I can see Times New Roman again!
5) I close Excel.
6) I double click on the Arial Font from my Font4 directory. Font Book opens it and I install it to my Font3 directory.
7) I open Excel, it does its font menu optimization thing and suddenly I can see Arial!
8) I close Excel.
Now at this point I'm wondering if my old font files got corrupted and because I was installing using the ones from my Font4 directory (which avoids the system directly) I was getting them back. So to test, I told Font Book to remove Times New Roman again, I go through the test of opening and confirming in Excel, and then I install the Times New Roman font from my desktop that I had copied out of the Font2 directory. Everything works fine in Excel. So it's not the file that was bad.
I was also wondering if I needed to remove all instances of the fonts or if just one was causing the trouble. So I go back to Font Book and remove the instance of Brush Script MT that was in my Font3 directory. When I opened Excel I still couldn't see anything.
I reinstalled the copy of Brush Script MT from the desktop and tried removing the other instance of the font, the one from the Font2 Directory. Excel still shows nothing. I then reinstall the associated font file from the desktop. Excel still doesn't like me.
Finally, I removed all instances of Brush Script MT and installed at random one of them from the desktop. Suddenly Excel likes it.
So I don't know what the problem was, maybe an associated was bad, but either way the only way I could get my fonts back was to remove all instances of the bad fonts from Font Book and then install the font again.
In between removing and installing I would go into Excel where it would refresh its Font list at startup. Not sure if this had anything to do with it either.
All my fonts now display correctly and all my powerpoint drawn images show up as well. I hope this helps someone else!

When you convert a PDF file to Word, the PDF file remains on your system. So, files should not be automatically converted to a different format because you've signed on to ExportPDF. What may be happening is that the filename association has changed on your system, and your operating system has associated different file types with the .doc or .docx filename extension. Are you on Mac OS or Windows?

How to remove frames from a exporrted Crystal Report10 ms word file

Dear All
I am generating reports in MS Word Format from Crystal Report 10 Export. The problem is that I have to change the formatting of the report, once it is exported to word file but the exported word file containing so may frames and due to these frames, I am unable to format the word file, copy/paste like MS word can.
Please give me some solution to remove frmaes from word file or tell me some settings in the crystal report at the design time to generate report without frames.

I tried "MS Word" and "Rich Text Format", but both were same. Frames each text fields

Exported Word files set off virus alerts for Windows users.

Work for a communications agency. Many of us prefer to write our copy in Pages, then export to Word files when sending over to clients to review. But, our exported "Word" files set off all our clients virus alerts like clockwork. Is there any way to prevent this besides exporting to RTF or PDF?
I've been told that Pages files exported out to Word files contain benign "macros" under the hood. And that virus alert programs on the Windows side see these macros (however harmless they are) and warn the user to not open, or trash the files.
This is causing hardship for us wanting to switch over to using Pages full-time. To our clients, it makes it seem as if we are careless, or are sending them files with viruses all the time.

As far as I know, there is no macro in files created by the Pages export process.
I'm on the Pages forums since two years and never read any message about such a behavior.
My guess is that the problem is not in Pages.
Maybe you are using the same anti-virus than my brother.
