Results from the OCZ Vertex 2 SSD

Hey All,
I just installed an OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD. At first I had some lag (about a minute) before the Apple logo would appear at the boot screen. I thought this might be the drive being unresponsive, but as it turns out a quick SMC reset fixed it.
I now get a full restart in 37.2 seconds. Cold boot in just under 24 seconds. Photoshop is 5 seconds flat, and wake from sleep is instant. I'm pretty pleased with this upgrade. It definitely put some new life into my MacBook without breaking the bank.
I have also noticed considerable battery life gain over my WD 7200 scorpion HD that I replaced.
This is a great upgrade for anyone looking.

just for info: with AJA System Test i get 255 MB/s Write and 202 MB/s read speeds.

Very slow OCZ Vertex 3 SSD on Pavilion MSI MS-7184 problem

I´ve becomed an gift from a friend in a form of an Pavilion Desktop PC.
The first problem is that I don't really know the Pavilion type of this one.
What's sure is that it is equipped with an
MSI MS-7184 motherboard
2 GB RAM
Radeon HD 6570 graphics and it has the
BIOS ver. 3.48

Here is my second (big) problem with it:
I've buyed an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD hoping that I'll upgrading and boosting my WIN 7 Ultimate speed. Not my day .... it goes soooooo slooooow. I've tryed bothways, that is, copying the System partition to the new SSD, and new installing the WIN7 Ultimate on the SSD drive.
I've searched the net over SSD behaving slow issues and the only relevant things that I've found were that I have to enable the AHCI HDD access option in BIOS, option that I don't have in my BIOS.
Any help aprecciated!!!

Please post the HP product number for the PC.
Do you know what firmware level your Vertex 3 is running? Firmware version 2.22 is the latest. If your firmware is 2.06 of lower then you must update incrementally. I wouldn't update the firmware if you should decide to return the SSD. See my below information.
I believe that the MSI motherboard only has SATA I which is very slow for a VERTEX 3 which to run at full performance. Frankly, I am surprised that the VERTEX 3 even runs on a SATA I port as many SATA III SSDs will not run on a SATA I port. Review this OCZ VERTEX 3 document.
You might want to see if you can return and exchange the SSD for another that is backwards compatible to SATA I. Perhaps the Vertex-2 or Agility-2 would run better for your needs.

T530 combined with OCZ Vertex 4 SSD

Hi,
I just ordered a T530 from Lenovo with the stock 320 GB 7200rpm HDD. My plan is to replace it with a OCZ Vertex 4 SSD drive, which I've heard is an excellent SSD drive. However, I'm concerned, the person on tech support reported that the T530's internal HD is 7mm, but the dimensions on the OCZ are 99.8 x 69.63 x 9.3mm. However, some people have said that the T530 drive is actually a 7mm drive with rubber rails around it. Does that mean it would be easy for me to just remove the rails and install the SSD drive, or should I just try to find a 7mm SSD drive? Unfortunately, OCZ doesn't appear to make a 7mm version of the Vertex 4.
Some people have reported problems with the Crucial M4, so I'm going to steer clear of that one. If I can't get the OCZ brand, are there any SSD drives you all would recommend? Stability is my foremost concern, and then speed. Some people have recommended the Samsung 830.

Why do I get two different results from the same coefficients?

I am getting two different results from the Polynomial Evaluation function.
For the first one, I am getting the coefficients from a Polynomial Fit function. I feed the coefficients from the Fit function into the Poly Eval function and get the correct result of 12.8582 when I evaluate 49940.
For the second one, I create constant array of the SAME values that were returned from the Polynomial Fit function (i typed them in). However, I am getting an incorrect result of -120.7913 when I feed the constant array into the Poly Eval function when I evauate 49940.
How can this happen when I am using the same array values?

are you sure about using the "same" coefficients?
Did you compare them? Did you (atleast) set the display properties to 17 significant digits?

How telete the reporting results from the workbook via the BEX menu functionality

That functionality is not available in the Bex 7 Analyzer, just in the Bex 3.x functionality. To delete workbook results, we simply select the rows of data (but NOT the titles) and delete the rows in excel. Then save the workbook.
If you delete the titles you will delete the analysis grid, and you will have to recreate it.
You can also change the variable values, click "Cancel" and the workbook then shows no results for any query related field. However, this includes the navigation panes and text elements, which produces a rather blank looking workbook.

For those who have not received the e-mail from E-Book AG Settlement Administrator, here is something to check.
The e-mail I have associated with my iBookd (iTunes) account has a "Moderate" spam blocker on it.
My son called and asked if I had received my credit, as he had. He advised he found it in his "Known spam" file.
I checked my account and it was not in the spam folder, why it should have been is beyond me. For the heck of it I checked the "Known spam" file. There it was, received on 26th. Thank goodness I didn't have the account set to automatically delete known spam, or it would have been gone. If I hadn't have checked it would have been purged automatically in 15 days.
There is no logical reason for this e-mail to have been considered as "Known spam", but there it was.
Possibly Apple wanted to comply with notifying those affected in the case, but was hoping many wouldn't find the authorization for rebate in time. Something to consider.

ATTO's R644 will boot OS X if you flash it with the efi64 flash update file from the Mac OS X Flash Bundle. After using Carbon Copy Cloner to clone our OS X boot drive to a triple SSD RAID set, we confirmed that the R644 does boot OS X. The HighPoint RR2721 (and 2722) does not have an EFI BIOS so it can NOT boot OS X. (That is confirmed as true.)

so given the limitation of the Mac Pro bandwidth you don't benefit from 6G SSD w/o a controller, and if you really can't off load the files and point to non-boot drive with a symbolic link or something you would be stuck with bootable controller and stripe of JBOD I guess, with a set of 2-3 SSDs (If you need 800GB and using SSD and have enough I/O writes in a month plan on at least 30% for provisionng.
