Results sorting

Hi,
i try to set search results ordering by working in the query builder  - go to the "sorting" tab, set the results to be ordered by "lastmodifiedtime".
Seems that no effect on results order...
Is it a bug?
keren tsur

Hi keren,
If you go to Search Service Application > Search Schema > filter “LastModifiedTime”, you will find the property is mapped to:
Leave it alone and create a new property for your requirement. You could refer to OOB LastModifiedTime property, and map it to only ows_Modified. See if the property could make search result to be sorted by last modified time.

    Hi,
    in eh_onsearch
    result = qs->get_query_result( iv_adjust_params = lv_adjust_param ).
    After the above statement you  can sort the result by partner_type
         CALL METHOD result->sort

  • Search results sorting

    hello ,
    I would like to have a custom control that sort search results  ( A to Z or Z to A ), so , i created a dropdownlist with two entry : A-Z  et Z-A.
    When user click A-Z , i would like that search results display in the right alphabetic order from A to Z.
    How to accomplish my goal step by step ?
    Thanks.

    Hi Piing,
    To sort the search results, you need to define the results to sort by which managed property.
    As each result has many managed properties, I recommend to use Title managed property to sort the results.
    If that is the case, then we need to write the sort dropdown like this:
    [{"name":"A-Z","sorts":[{"p":"Title","d":0}]},{"name":"Z-A","sorts":[{"p":"Title","d":1}]}].
    After that, we need to edit the search results page and then edit the Search Results web part, then expand Settings and check Show sort dropdown. After that paste the above JSON inside the box and save the changes back to SharePoint.
    You can refer to the link below for details about how to write the JSON inside the sort dropdown:

  • ATG search result sorting logics

    I would like to get the list of all sorting options in atg search results and the priority and order of each logic applied in the search result. Any one please help me ?
    I am listing below the sort options known to me
    1. The default sort order --> sort by relevance
    2. The secondary sort order specified using docSort, docSortOrder , sortProp and docSortPred parameters
    3. Search result rule positioning @ ATG Merchandising ( BCC )
    4. Search property prioritization @ ATG Merchandising ( BCC )

    i think this helps you
    docSort
    ATG Search returns a list of result groups in its query response. Normally, the result groups are sorted in
    relevance order, but you may want to allow users to sort the final results by some secondary criteria, such
    as date. This secondary sort does not affect what results are in the result groups, just the order of the
    returned groups. Secondary sorting is performed before paging, and is controlled by the following
    attributes:
    <query docSort="mode" docSortOrder="order" docSortProp="prop"
    dcSortPropDefault="def" docSortPropVal="val" docSortPred="predicate"
    docSortCase="bool"
    The mode value specifies how the index items will be sorted, and can be one of the following:
    relevance —The default value, return items in relevance order, assuming the item set
    is a category

  • Spotlight Search Results - Sort by Date Modified

    Running 10.5.2 on a Mac Pro.
    Is there a way to sort Spotlight search results by date modified?
    Am I missing something really basic or is Apple kinda going insane?
    I also don't like that I can't search my files by filename without also allowing Spotlight to index the contents of my hard drive. I don't want my content indexed.
    Why does Apple use AES encryption for FileVault? It has an NSA backdoor...
    And while I'm at it, I can't network with my PB180 running System 7.5.5 anymore (OSX 10.2 let me).
    GRRR! I hate when progress gets senile.

    Rants will get you nowhere on these forums except banned.
    If you want to report this to Apple, send Feedback and send bug reports and enhancement requests via its Bug Reporter system. To do the latter, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure over submitting feedback is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

  • Ultrasearch search results (sort)

    Does anyone know how to change the search results, so the results are sorted by description or author not by score?
    Thanks.

    Currently when searching using Oracle Text the results are always ordered by score and it can not be changed.
    This feature is being considered for a later release.

  • SEARCH results sorted by LOCATION

    does lion have the ability to report search results by location? alternatively, is it possible to /exclude/ a location once the search has returned results?
    i am very much in need of a tool that will sort my results by location so i can do something as simply as collapse the folder that contains the majority of the results and simply look at (or move) the results that are /not/ in this location. at the same time i would very much like to do and/nor results so that i could /exclude/ a location.
    for instance, i have a lot of times that i need this but for instance if i am trying to see if i have music files /outside/ of a certain folder it would be very helpful to be able to sort these so that i was looking at the results that weren't located in the correct location. right now i am doing a scroll through thousands of results while trying to keep my eye on the file path at the bottom of the finder window.
    i have done this in the past and particularly where there are files in lots of locations this can be tedious to the point of being unmanageable.
    is this something accomplished in OmniDiskSweeper or WhatSize by any chance?
    thanks for any thoughts.

    How are you using this portlet? Are you
    (a) allowing users to enter criteria to do a search and
    wanting the results page to group the results or
    (b) are you using it for automatically displaying content
    via auto query portlets?
    Depending on your version of portal it maybe possible to get functionality similar to what you want with multiple custom search portlets on a page. Beware, in some versions of portal there are some issues when you put multiple search portlets on a page, as they dont work independently. Therefore its not guarenteed that the following suggestions will work, but its possibly worth a try.
    (a)
    - Create a results page and add 4 custom search portlets
    - Customize each portlet
    - Set the Portlet Title to be the grouping title
    i.e Categories
    - Set the portlet so it only searches for a single results
    type,
    i.e. chose category for Content typee
    - For the results page option, choose 'Custom Page' and
    select the same page (this ensures a search from this
    portlet goes back to the same page).
    - Now set your portlet you are using to run the search
    to display results on the results page you have just
    created
    - When you perform a search, the user is taken to your
    results page and each portlet should take the search
    criteria and display the results of each type
    - The next and previous buttons may not work independently
    between the portlets depending on your versions, if this
    is the case i would suggest turning the summary off in
    the portlets
    (b)
    - similar to a, but set all the 4 portlets to be auto
    query and enter the criteria. Ensure the submission
    form is not rendered below the results.
    Hope that helps

  • Generic search framework search result sorting accrding to header name

    HI!
    I need to implement new option to generic search result. There I should implement new sorting, user need to sort GS result according to header.
    How can I add sorting option to to my GS results. Do I have to used existing option to add sorting option?
    Thanks in advance.

    Unless you explicitly specify type=nosort, the result list is by default sortable by a column. When you introduce the new option in the generic-seacrchbackend-config.xml, if you do not specify anything explicitly, then, the result can be automatically sorted by that column by clicking the column header.
    Also, you can influence the initial sorting of the displayed result by a column. You can do so by specifying defaultSortSequence="ASCENDING" or "DESCENDING" as you desire.

  • What's the best way to sort query results?

    Hello All,
    I have a standard CRUD UI that now needs the results sorted, based on input from the UI. What's the best way to sort results by entity fields?
    I'm familiar with the conventional Java methodology using a TreeSet and comparator. Is this the best route, does BDB JE offer more convenient or performant alternatives?
    I looked through the documentation and saw how to change the indexes, but I'm just looking to change the order in the scope of the query.
    If my application were an address book, the UI would be sortable, ascending and descending, by date added, first name, last name, etc. based on which column the user clicked on.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven
    Harvard Children's Hospital Informatics Program

    Hi Steven,
    Using standard Java collections is probably the best approach.
    One thing that may be useful is to get a SortedMap (Primary or SecondaryIndex.sortedMap) for the case where you have an index sorted the way you want, and then copy the primary index into a TreeMap (with a comparator) for other cases. That way, you always have a SortedMap to work with, whether you're copying the index or not.
    I haven't tried this myself, just a thought.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to sort the subsite based on the date in descending order.
    You can refer to the following code snippets, it sorts the subsites by the date in descending order.
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    // When the body is loaded, the onload event handler executes each function whose name is contained in this array.
    _spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push("callCSOM");
    function callCSOM()
    $("#Button1").click(function()
    ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(RetriveSites, "sp.js");
    var currentcontext = null;
    var currentweb = null;
    function RetriveSites()
    currentcontext = new SP.ClientContext.get_current();
    currentweb = currentcontext.get_web();
    this.subsites = currentweb.get_webs();
    currentcontext.load(this.subsites);
    currentcontext.executeQueryAsync(Function.createDelegate(this, this.ExecuteOnSuccess),
    Function.createDelegate(this, this.ExecuteOnFailure));
    function ExecuteOnSuccess(sender, args)
    var subsites = '';
    var enum1 = this.subsites.getEnumerator();
    var siteCreatedTime = '';
    var array=new Array();
    while (enum1.moveNext())
    var site = enum1.get_current();
    array.push(new Array(site.get_created(),site.get_title()));
    alert(array);
    array=sortMethod(array);
    alert(array);
    function sortMethod(arr) {
    var i, j, stop, len = arr.length;
    for (i=0; i<len; i=i+1)
    for (j=1;j<len - i; j++)
    // change the "<" to ">" would be sort by the Ascending.
    if (new Date(arr[j-1][0]) < new Date(arr[j][0]))
    //swap(j, j+1);
    var temp = arr[j-1];
    arr[j-1] = arr[j];
    arr[j] = temp;
    //alert(new Date(arr[j]));
    return arr;
    function ExecuteOnFailure(sender, args) {
    alert("error");
    </script>
    <input id="Button1" type="button" value="Run Code"/>
    Results:
    Sort before:
    Sort after:

  • CM21/cm25 sorting of user defined field in table area

    Hallo,
    I implemeted the field MARC-MATGR in the table area of the CM21 with user exit CYPP0005 and now I'm trying to use the user exit CYPP0002 for sorting in order of this field like explained in oss note 605217.
    I implemented the coding like shown in the examples of the user exits but sorting is not workiing.
    By debugging the user exit I'm not shure where I can change the internal tables to get a result sorted by this "MARC-MATGR".
    Perhaps someone can help me giving me an hint how the user exit is working and what has to be changed ?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Volker

    Dear ,
    I have posted a similar kind of reply in one of the thread  which may help u defining the User Defined Tabel /Filed .Just check this Out :
    For cm25/CM21 : Assuming that you have all the other set up for Capacity Requirement in place , please note the belwo steps for layout design for CM25 OR cm21 or cm22( all you will be used same overall profile )
    1.Make sure that you have proper Overall profile defined in OPD0-Define Overall profile .Here u will define Time Profile , Startegy prfoile . Lay out Profile etc .
    2.To paint your layout your soultion is to Goto -CY38-Pop down the menu -Select the Lay out Key which have been used as lay out -Goto Change Mode (Pencil symbol)-Now you will find the fields are high ligheted as per CM25 dipaly in a sequnce -You can un chekcde the Filed like Operation , Operation text , Setup what ever you do not want to show in Order Pool and Hit SAVE butotn and come back .
    CM25 --> Settings --> Display Profiles --> Planning tab.profile --> I01 --> Layout ID ( Example : 'SAPSFCLA05') which is Main Capacity Lay out id .
    If you goto CY38-Pop down the menu -You will find Main Capcitity Lay out Id : Example SAPSFCAS01 -Enter this lay out and chenage accordingly as I have explained in above
    Once you save this , then go back to CM25 and execute with coupe of work centres to check how is the order pool looks now .
    Refer this threade for Layout Id and option which u may need for CM25 front end
    Exception messages in CM21 or CM25
    I hope this should work

  • Radix sort and deletions

    Strange problem here (but YAY it compiles G)...and I think it's in the delete method but I am not a hundred percent sure...
    I have a linked list that hold 5 pieces (word, date, orig, pos, def) of data per each linked list line. I also have a vector list that just holds the word itself for all entries into the dictionary. So, the theory is that I should be able to do a radixSort (or any other sort) on the vector and take what the vector returns and create a new list from the old linked list. Does that make sense?
    My list (from a text file) looks sort of like this...
    chereba;verb;to dance;05/02;jon smith;
    semrka;verb;to speak;03/01;jim jones;
    chersl;verb;to laugh;02/01;nancy doe;
    And when I run the print command in the main menu, I get this...
    Chapter c
    chersl (verb) to laugh 02/01
    nancy doe.
    chersl (verb) to laugh 02/01
    nancy doe.
    chersl (verb) to laugh 02/01
    nancy doe.
    Chapter s
    semrka (verb) to speak 03/01
    jim jones.
    chereba (verb) to dance 05/02
    jon smith.
    I think the problem is with the remove method...I don't think that it is doing what it is supposed to do...but I could be way off my rocker and totally missing what the real problem is. Can someone please take a look at this and shove me in the right direction?

    Why not implement the Comparable interface (int compareTo(Object) method) and let the Arrays.sort function handle the sorting?

  • Unable to get correct sort order for subquery

    Hi,
    I have this complex subquery and I am sort of stuck on how to get the correct sort order. Here is the query
    select *
    from
    (select r.ResultsId, r.TestName, p.ProjectName, h.PhaseName,
    t.TypeText, s.StationName,
    to_char(max(r.ExecutionStartDate) over
    (partition by r.TestName, b.ConfigValue, .ConfigValue,
    d.ConfigValue),
    'DD MON YYYY HH24:MI:SS'), r.Owner, t.Status,
    b.ConfigValue Language, c.ConfigValue Telemetry,
    d.ConfigValue Flex
    from Results r, Projects p, Phase h, Type t, Station s, Status t,
    ConfigResults b, ConfigResults c, ConfigResults d
    where
    r.resultsId = b.resultsId and
    r.resultsId = c.resultsId and
    r.resultsId = d.resultsId and
    b.configurationid = 1 and
    c.configurationid = 2 and
    d.configurationid = 3 and
    r.projectid = p.projectid and
    r.statusid = t.statusid and
    h.PhaseId = r.PhaseId and
    t.TypeId = r.TestTypeId and
    s.StationId = r.StationId and %s
    Order By
    r.TestName, b.ConfigValue, c.ConfigValue, d.ConfigValue)
    order by resultsid
    My results are sorted by TestName, ConfigValue but I am trying to the
    results sorted by resultsid
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    What happens if you add an order by r.resultsid to your order by statement directly in your subquery rather than doing an order by later?
    It will not work because I need to specify the exact fields that I use in
    the partition by statement.

  • Incomplete Finder find command results

    In Tiger I would use the search box in any Finder window to look for files. It would do a decent job of sorting and it displayed results sorted by "type" of file. With Leopard I cannot find folders or files in the user's Library folder (and other places). Is there a way to get Finder's find command to do a more thorough search? BTW I usually look for folders and files by name.

    system files are excluded from searches by default. to include them do the following.
    type command+f to bring up a search window. Click on "kind", scroll down and select "Other". in the resulting popup choose "system files" and set to include.

  • Sort the filenames to be loaded in data portal by date

    Hi,
    Filenames listed in Diadem File browser are sorted alphabetically.
    I would like to script how to load files in search results sorted by date of creation not by name.

    Hi Andre Rako,
    You mentioned two different ways of loading data into DIAdem (File Browser, Search Results).  Which do you mean?  There's no way to affect the ordering of the files in the File Browser, because that simply shows the same order as the files are in on disk-- the same order you see when you look with Windows Explorer.
    The Search Results is a different story, however.  After running any query, you can order to resulting Search Results list by clicking on the "up/down" icon at the top right of any column.  In your case you'll want to display the datetime as a property column in the Search Results and then click on the "up/down" (enumeration) icon at the top of that column.
    If you have DIAdem 2010 or later, you can also include the ordering of the Search Results as part of the query.  There is now the "up/down" icon to the left of the condition in the Condition Table (just to the right of the C1, C2, text).  You can click on this icon to set the ordering to be ascending, descending, or turned off.
