Resume Install?

I started the download of my selected applications last night before I left the office. When I cam in this morning, the Photoshop install had failed. The disk images for inDesign and Illustrator were on my desktop and I had to manually install them. Acrobat and Muse had also (theoretically) been downloaded but hadn't installed. All that was on the desktop for those two applications were the CCM files.
So I go to try to install Photoshop again and it starts an entirely new download. 3 hours later, the download finishes and the INSTALL FAILS AGAIN! It says the download was corrupted. In the meantime, it has begun (at my request) downloading Acrobat and Muse again.
So, there are several questions. First of all, why is my Photoshop install failing? Second, why do these applications have to be downlaoded again? Aren't the install files stroed on my hard drive? I really don't want to wait another 9 hours to try installing Photoshop again just to have it fail.
While inDesign and Illustrator seem to be working well, it seems a little odd to me that I have to quit ALL Adobe apps to install discrete applications. What gives?
I just signed up for the Cloud yesterday and I had hoped to be able to use all the new apps today but it appears this won't be happening. Can anyoine offer advice to get me up and running?

I would recommend beginning by diagnosing what is causing your installation failure.  Please utilize the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/ to review your installation logs.  Also for your next install of Photoshop I would also recommend utilizing the trial of Photoshop CS6.  This will prevent you from needing to download again if it is unsuccessful.  Once you have installed simply sign in using your Creative Cloud Adobe ID.

  • Help - Finished downloading photoshop trial, was prompted to restart comp, now can't resume install!

    Hey all,
I have just finished downloading the photoshop trial version which was almost 1 gig, and when it started to install it told me that my computer was due for a restart so i quit the install and restarted my computer, and now when I start up the download manager again I can't find any way to access my previous download so I can install it. It seems that it is going to make me download it all over again which is not really an option for me. Is there any way to resume that initial installation again so I do not have to download the entire thing all over again?? Just because it said I was "due for a restart"...  I shouldve ignored it and continued with the installation  @_@  but I was just trying to do the right thing.
    Please help, thanks so much.

Copying information from this doc: Adobe Download Assistant FAQ
    Where are my downloaded products?
When you start the download, the Adobe Download Assistant prompts you to select a destination folder for the trial products. To locate products downloaded using the Adobe Download Assistant, navigate to the folder you selected when you started the download.
Note: Trial products that have only partially completed their download have the filename extension .adadownload. If you see such files, restart Adobe Download Assistant and resume/complete the download and installation. (See How do I pause and resume interrupted downloads?) If you remove products from the Adobe Download Assistant queue, any partially downloaded products are removed from your system.

  • Battery died while installing Mavericks. Installation corrupted. Wont boot or resume install.

    Greetings,
A friend just called in a panic. He updated to Mavericks without plugging his MBP in. The battery died while updating and the computer won't boot into OS. It boots back into the installer but won't continue. Disk utility cant repair it. Any idea of how to help him? (he has no backup)
I may have him ship it to me, if it mounts on desktop I'll clone it, reinstal Mavericks, migrate his data.
What generally gets corrupted when a Mavericks installation is abruptly cut short?
Is there anything else to have him try before he ships it?

If his Mac is capable of it, I'd try Internet Recovery.

  • App is stuck installing

i tried to update an app and it is now stuck "installing..." and i am unable to delete it ive tried restarting my phone, signing in and out, uninstalling/installing it on my computer, making sure there arent other downloads, and making sure there are no restrictions and nothing seems to work

Have you tried a reset to see if it resumes installing after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • New install. The install software freezes at the restart prompt!

Folks, hello just had the Triple installed the install software freezes at the restart prompt.  When I open the "Resume install" form the shortcut key same issue.  I have to ALT,CTR,DEL to close it.  I'm running Vista.  Thoughts please  Thanks

If you already accepted the Fios Bundle Terms then I wouldn't worry about completing that software install.
Unless you want the Verizon toolbar and Help & Support bloatware.

  • Just upgraded iPhone 3GS to IOS5. Now there's 21GB of Others.  How to get rid of it?  It's taken up all the space on the phone.

Just upgraded iPhone 3GS to IOS5. Now in itunes I can see there's 21GB of Others.  I have no idea what is that.  I didnt have that before the upgrade. How to get rid of it?  It's taken up all the space on the phone.

I posted a fix for this temporary issue earlier but here it is in short:
The memory "hog" that is "others" seems to be the OS as it's installing. It seems to want more than 12GB and you may get stuck at the point where iTunes tries to load everything back on and the iPhone has run out of space. What you need to to is un-check the "sync" box at the apps, music, podcasts and other sections, then click the button to sync iTunes with iPhone. This will result in iTunes deleting all the data it restored, but you'll put it back later. Once you caused the deletion of most of the data, iOS5 will resume installing and then "magically" shrink to less than 1GB. Then you can place check marks back in the boxes and re-sync all your apps and other data. You will have plenty or memory left.
I followed the above procedure and my iPhone works perfectly.
    Hope this helps.

  • P35 Platinum AHCI/RAID 0

    Hi, my system
    msi p35
    q6600 (GO Step)
    2 x 1ghz Corsair 800mhz
    2 (NEW) SATA2 WD 250gb hdds
i now have the latest (1.8) bios version and want to install XP home(32) as AHCI RAID 0,
i previously had 2 sata1 hdds setup as raid 0, worked fine,
now when in bios i set to RAID or IDE then run the xp setup/F6_raid driver_/xp sets up ok, reboots, then resumes install from hdd (GUI)
However when i set it upin the Bios to AHCI-(apparently ahci stil allows the simultanius usage of raid such as 0,1,5) i go through the `F6` step of xp instal, choose `AHCI ichr9` driver, theres only 1, windows setup will see it as 1 large hdd, formatt, copy setup files ok, pc restarts,....obviously now i have eject the floppy disk used and setup should resume from hdd, but it doesnt, it just goes all the way til its asking if i wanna run XP setup again
so, i check in my bios, still set as ahci, but no raid listed in `boot order` list, 2 seperate WD hdds
i have also tried leaving the setting in bios as RAID, create an array, then run XP setup and try n use the AHCI driver, windows setup fall over and give the `no hdds found` error...
IF ANYONE CAN HELP I WOULD BE VERY GREATFULL  !!
    Thanks.

right, have just been loking in the Intel website, when RAID is set in bios, ahci feature are present also, i was assuming it had to be set to ahci to get those features ok,
I am glad you found the official Intel information yourself.

my board has the Ich9R intel chip on board, i`ve installed as Raid and update everything from the live update utility, however the Intell matrix storage console i have only shows my hardware as ich8r, is there no sofware avaliable yet, i looked and couldnt find anything on lga775 chipsets regarding the I.M.S. console sofware, just wondered, thanks.
The same driver is used for ICH8R RAID and ICH9R.  I suppose that is the main reason the Intel Matrix Storage Manager shows wrong information.  Which Version are you using? Did your try the latest release offered on the Intel Download sites?

  • At a Genius Bar appointment yesterday, we determined that I needed to go to Mountain Lion from Lion.  I purchased Mountain Lion at the Bar, and paused the install so that I could resume from home.  Now I can't find it to resume. Not in Downloads. ?????

When I upgraded to Lion, my Parallels stopped working and I got a Bootcamp error message.  It had worked fine for the prior year.  I upgraded to Parallels 7.  No luck. At the Genius Bar, the Genius uninstalled Bootcamp.  No luck.  I still get "The Boot Camp partition /dev/diskOs4 used by Hard Drive 1 is missing."
Another Genius suggested upgrading to Mountain Lion.  While at the Bar, I purchased Mountain Lion and then we paused the install so that I could resume it at home.  Once I got home, I can't find the Mountain Lion installer to resume.  It's not in the Downloads file.  Any clue?
My business programs all run on Windows, so I have to get it operating.  The Genius Bar isn't much help.  Does anyone know how to get Mountain Lion installed?  How to get Parallels working?

The "Geniuses" (and I use that word in sarcasm) at the Bar are lying to you. Upgrading from Lion to Mt Lion will not fix whatever problems you are having. In fact it will most likely make them worse.
If you want to try installing Mt Lion to fix the problems you are having you will need to open the Mac App Store link in your Dock, Login to your Apple ID account for the MAS and go to your Purchases area. Mt Lion should be in there and you will be able to do a proper download. Once you either set your Mac into sleep or shut down and then left the internet connection at the Bar all record of that download was lost. So you will need to restart it again from the beginning, like described above.
    Good Luck

  • Resume results in blank screen after trying to install printer

Yesterday, I tried to install a network printer (got some trouble with cups, avahi, ...). But after a successful installation, I noticed that resume from suspend doesn't work anymore.
I tried to disable all services I had enabled, but to no avail. I tried to look for something related to cups or printer drivers blocking resume, but couldn't find anything about it.
The suspend log also doesn't reveal any problems.
I don't know how to debug this further.

I dont believe it has anything to do with printing.  There is a known bug in 3.17.3 / 3.17.4 that affects i686 kernels

  • Problem with Resuming and Installing Apps Purchased using Mac App Store

Recently I have been trying to download and install AeroFly FS which I purchased from Mac App Store (17GB) and with my internet connection it take some 4-5 days to download that.
    I have 2 problems.
    1) Resume download don't work if I happen to reboot my macbook pro for some reason after pausing the download before the reboot. When I reboot and try resuming the download... the resume button changes to install, and the download start afresh, I technically lost all my previous downloaded data.
    2) The app was 17GB ( I guess thats the installer), and I had some 25GB left after the download completed. But it gave an error saying while installing that not much disk space. So I moved/deleted many item on my drive and got the disk space to some 37GB Free. But it was still giving the same error of not much disk space.
So, I thought the new avaialable diskspace was not accounted for. So, I rebooted the macbook. And to my agony, I found the roboot wiped out the 17GB installer I managed to download from Mac App Store.
So, far i have wasted almost more than a week trying to download and install this app. Now, I am re-downloading it for the third time.
Any Help will be highly appreciated.
Any Tips on how I can move the installer once it sdownloaded to my external HDD, and where can i find this installer which App store downloads?
    Regards,
    Sapam

    Hi ...
37GB of free space is not enough.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 20% free disk space.
