4.5 to 7 would be great, compared to the 1.5 I'm currently getting.
I was told my settings are correct. Could there be anything preventing higher speeds?
Thanks!

  • I need to boost my wifi signal from my Time Machine.  What is that device called.  it plugs into the wall.

    I have an apple booser that plugs into the walll to help boost my wifi signal.  I went and purchased another one and they sold me the airport express and it does not have the wall plugin.  What is it that I need to exchange it for?  You would have thought they would have sold me the right thing!

    Does the old still a good product?
    Yes
    So, this is all there is all there is available to boost my signal in hard to reach areas with Apple devices?
    You could try an AirPort Extreme instead of an AirPort Express. The issue may be size. Imagine eight of your A1392 models all stacked on top of each other.  It does have a better antenna setup, but I doubt that you would notice much improvement in your situation.

  • Need wifi booster

    Have a TC set up in living room and Airport Extremes in bedroom & kitchen. Live in apartment building in city. Cannot consistently stream music through Airtunes to speakers set up with Air Extremes. RSSI levels dip to -70 - -80. Do I need a wifi signal booster? Any suggestions?

    The problem with using RSSI and other things like the "bars" at the top of the screen that measure signal power is that they tell you nothing about the noise which also might be present. Good signal strength with high noise = a poor quality connection.
    A better tool might be SNR or Signal to Noise Ratio which can be used to determine connection quality.
    If you have a Mac, you can determine the SNR at a given location with a few steps as follows:
    First, power off both AirPort Express devices
    Move you laptop as close as possible to the location of one AirPort Express
    Hold down the option key on the Mac while you click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen
    Click on Sysem Profiler
    Scan down the list on the left side of the window and then click on AirPort to highlight it
    In the panel to the right, look for the name of your wireless network and the listing for Signal / Noise. An example might be something like this......Signal -70 dBm / Noise -90 dBm
    Jot down the readings that you see for the location of one AirPort Express and then perform the same procedure at the location of the second AirPort Express
    Post back with your results and we will continue

  • All tracks need volume boost. What is the best way?

    I recorded a 16 track album with Logic and all of the bounced mp3s are very low in volume compared to my other songs in itunes. How do I equalize all of these songs? Thanks
    Salutations.
    -RyConn M.D.

    Well, that's my personal opinion, but you'd better export your songs one by one into aiff and then use an audio editor like Wavelab or Soundforge to analyze levels, normalize the files, if necessary and add some pre-mastering processing (like, say, exciter, master compressor, master limiter, etc). Then you can export your songs into mp3.
    Similarly, after exporting into audio, you can then import the stereo-files into a Logic project and do normalizing and mastering there. And after that export into mp3.
    Second way is going to the near-by mastering studio (or whatever pro studio) and ask them to do the job for you. It's relatively cheap these days. They can even fix some mixing problems, if there are any (provided you have a hard-drive with your projects at hand). And you can sit there and ask them questions and learn how to do it yourself the next time

  • Need booster - which coax to use for the links?

    I probably need a booster for my Freeview signal/BT Vision.  Can I ask if normal coax cable is used to go from the booster to the BT Vision box or can anyone recommend a type to use?
    Many thanks

  • Free booster offer

    has anyone managed to get a free boster with the sk go sign up offer that is plastered all over the tv at the moment.I need a booster as the wifi stability is terrible yet paying extra with no guarentee is not something i am willing to do.i set a sky id, signed up for sky go, downloaded the app and wherever i go to apply for a booster it says £20.i took my phone to a sky stall to ask and they were oblivious to the offer, showed them the add and they fobbed me of saying it was for sky go extra. i pointed out that the add stated free, no extra cost sign up (p&p) only went to the web address for the offer, they tried nd failed then told me i had to ring up the help team.i did this, they were oblivious as well i drected them to the website, the guy even said he would do it as it was a good deal and then he told me its automatic and you get an email response.i have had no email so rang again to be told i had to send an email...... sky do not accept emails !!!! he could not provide me with an email!!i tried again and was told i had to do an online chat, which is constantly busy!!!!!I have had pretty much nothing but poor customer service from sky regarding my wifi and broadband and nothing looks like its going to change here!If they fail to resolve this as well as other problems am i entitled to go to the advertising standards agency and cancel my sky without penalty due to false advertising and mis representation without penalty?

    I have to ask why no one has just visited the wireless booster page from the Sky Shop section?
    The free offer seems to have ended as on the Shop page it is now showing Existing Sky Broadband customers
    Sky Wireless Booster
    £20
    for all Sky Broadband customers
    Get your Booster
    £2.18 Sky Wireless Booster delivery charge applies.
    You could also check the offers section of your mysky page to see if the free offer is available there.

  • How to boost Frame Per Second?

    Ok I see all these games that get a good 30-60 fps. I have a game I created that is 2d with some .png images. I need to boost my fps from 16 to 30+ How would I go about this? This is how I have it set <Main Applet> -> <swing.timer(1ms)> -> Repaint() is that the only way to get good fps?

    I actually made a game with several hundred fps, I had to slow it down though - it was ridiculous.
    When you press the left key, the character would move 1 pixel per frame - and it looked like it was teleporting.
    Try something like this (Note: wait is just a method I made that waits the provided amount of milliseconds):
    long lastTime, nextTime;
    public void capFrameRate(int time) {
      if(lastTime == 0) {
       wait(1000/time);
      else {
       nextTime = System.currentTimeMillis()-lastTime;
       if(nextTime < 1000/time) {
        wait(1000/time);
      lastTime = System.currentTimeMillis();
    }It may also be because you are using png images, png usually are larger in size than jpeg (and gif, I think).
    Note: it is always a good idea to load the images prior to gameplay or it will halt until the image loads.
    EX: If you made a game where if you get hit by a laser, you'd blow up - the game would halt while loading the explosion for the first time.

  • Best signal booster for airport express

    Need to boost the signal in my house for better coverage. I have a model A1264 Airport express.
    What is the best and easiest way to increase signal coverage without having to to move the location of the airport.
    Thanks,
    JJ

    Add another AirPort Express and configure the setup to "extend a wireless network". Keep in mind that you will need to locate the new "remote" AirPort Express where it can receive a strong signal from the "main" Express.
    Apple's instructions for this setup are here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4259
    The example pictures two AirPort Extreme devices, but the set up for two AirPort Express devices is exactly the same.

    Can someone help what am I doing wrong here?

    Thanks. Yes, stlport was one of the issues. There are few other changes too. I found them in another thread which lists the exact steps for compilation. Below is the link:

  • What is a compatible signal booster for the ipad?

    There are a number of signal boosters for cell phones.  A few of them advertise that they work with aircards.  Does anyone know if there are signal boosters compatible with the ipad or what specifications I need to research?  It would be good to be able to access verizon when I'm traveling if I need a boost in signal.
    Thanks for your input.
    Alan

    There isn't one, and there won't be one. Apple and Adobe could never get a flash player that worked. And now since Adobe has ceased all production on mobile flash, there won't ever be one.
    Your best alternative is to explore the app store for browsers that support flash and see if one of them will do what you want.

  • External  signal booster for Airport extreme card

    I'm trying to find a solution to boosting the signal receiving capabilities of my Apple 15" Powerbook G4 with an Airport Extreme Card.
    I live in an area that receives several WiFi non-encrypted signals, which my Airport can detect (weakly), but I need to boost the signal that the airport receives.
    Let me make this clear, I am not attached, or connected to ANY router, or DSL system, I am only receiving open WiFi signals.
    I need to find a signal booster, or directional antenna. (I’d rather not crack open the Power Book to attach the hardware).
    I’ve looked at several 3rd party options i.e. Linksys, Netgear, Hawkings, D-link, most do not support Mac ( so often)
    I currently use a Hawking Tech directional PCI wireless card 802.11 B/G mixed mode. It works well enough with Mac, but it is often buggy, and yes I do turn of Airport when I use it. But I’d rather use the built in Airport with an external booster. I’m open to suggestions, Mac or 3rd Party, though the ‘Pringles can’ doesn’t work. thanks

  • Is airport express a booster to airport extreme

    i need a booster shot for my airport extreme...is airport express  a booster?  thanks

    Not really a booster but a distance extender.
    An Airport can "extend" the WiFi created by another Airport.  It can not extend a non-Apple WiFi.  You need TWO Airport units, one to function as the main radio and the other to function as an extender.  I used two Express units.
    Configuration is simple if you start from a factory default condition.  Connect the main Airport to AC power and finally to the Internet modem (or modem/router).  Open Airport Utility on your Mac or other computer and accept all of the recommendations.  After confirming that it works, insert your desired administrative and WiFi passwords.
    Then connect the extender to AC power.  As before, open Airport Utility on your Mac or other computer and accept all of the recommendations.  No need to add password info.
    Do not expect the Airport to respond instantly to the configuration commands.  BE PATIENT!

  • Best home/office cell phone signal booster

    Can anyone recommend a cell phone signal booster for the 4/4S?

    Sure.  If it's for a car, that's easy. If it's for a home or office, answer the following:
    What carrier or carriers do you need to support?
    Over how large of an area do you need to boost the signal?  One floor or multiple stories?
    How strong is the signal strength outside of your home/office (Ideally on the roof where you'd need to mount the outside antenna)?
    With that information, it's possible to figure out what signal booster would be best for you.

  • How to boost my ear buds playback volume?

    I have an iphone 5 and need to boost podcasts and music volume through my earbuds. I have iOS7 and can't find a decent app that works.

    In Settings => Music see if the Volume Limit is turned on.  If it is turn it off and see if this help.  I have always left this turned off because it does keep you from turning the volume up to a high level.
    I get that they are trying to help us not destroy our hearing, but it is too soft for me when this is turned on .
    Also what earbuds are you using?  Have you tried a different pair? I have never liked the ones that came with the iPhone. They sound to tinny to me and the overall sound quality is terrible.
    I have a pair of Skullcandy earbuds that I really love. They cost $50 but they were worth it because of how much I listen to music on my phone.
