Resuming to last visited slide

How can I ensure the correct audio plays when I resume to the last visited slide for a Captivate file published using HTML5? Currently, when I re-enter a slide after answering yes to "Do you want to continue where you left off?" and selecting the button in the middle of the screen, the audio starts playing at the beginning of the file, instead of playing the audio associated with the slide on the screen. In other words, the audio is not in sync with the slides when you resume the course.

Can anybody tell me how can I disable the "go to last visited slide" option in captivate so that every time when i launch my captivate file from a LMS, it WILL NOT go back to the last visited slide? I know that Lectora has a checkbox for this but i can't seem to find it in Captivate.

Are you deploying on a LMS? In that case check the option 'Never Send Resum Data' in Preferences, Quiz, Reporting, LMS Customization Settings.
If you are not deploying on LMS, check if Self-paced Learning is disabled in the TOC?

About " Return To the last visited slide" feature

Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding to the function of Return to the last visited slide, and how I can customize the system variable, cpInfoLastVisitedSlid to limit some accessing in the project.
Since I don't know anyway to keep my word concise and clear, I will try to explain my question more...
Version I use: Captivate 5
Currently, I am working on a project that includes the course content and a navigation guide together.
Each Course Content Slide has 3 buttons:
Back to previous slide
Go to the next slide
Navigation Guide (goes to the navigation guide menu page )
The Navigation Guide is a 30-slide little session telling our audience how to navigate and print with pdf version. Here is how we structure the Guide:
menu Page, in the menu page, there are 4 button
button to go back to the last visited slide
button to section A
button to section B
button to section C
Section A in the guide
Section B in the guide
Section C in the guide
On each Section, there are buttons that can go to their sub sections and return to the menu...
the user accesses from any course content slide to the navigation guide. The frist slide they will see after entering navigation guide is the menu page with 4 buttons. If the user click " go back to the last visited slide" button, the button will takes to where the user was in the course content slide.
However, if the user click the other buttons to view the content in the guide. when they return to the menu, the last visited slide become the last page they view in the guide.... hence they can not exit the guide and return to the course unless we assign a button to go to a particular slide in the course content...
Here comes the question:
Is there any possible way to condition the system variable, cpInfoLastVisitedSlid, not to remember slide it visited in the navigation guide, and only remember the slides from the course session?

Our user had entered the group of slides explaining navigatio.
but, I don't know how to set the user variable for group of slide.... and if I should I combine the user variable with the cpInfoLastVisitedSlide... (Since it is all slide number...)
What I have tried is that created a conditional advanced action...

Captivate TOC navigate visited slide only problem. Visited topic can not click when exit and open again the training.

I have created the TOC and i want the learner just can click at the Topic they have visited. i have no problem at the first time viewing the training.
The problem is i read half of the training, for example I have Topic 1 - Topic 5, I just read until Topic 3 finish, then I exit the training. When i reenter the training, the Topic 1 - Topic 3 which i have already visited can not click, I can not review back those topic. At the TOC setting, I have enabled the Self-Paced Learning, Enabled Navigation, Navigate Visited Slides Only.
Is there any other setting I need to enable to make the learner can click at the topic they have visited when they exit and reopen the training?

I don't think you are understanding what I'm saying.
If you are using an LMS then the bookmarking you are currently using MUST be Resume Data bookmarking. It's the ONLY kind Captivate has that will work with LMSs.
If you are unable to navigate to a visited topic after resuming from the LMS then it's possible you've got some other setting in your project that is interferring with that navigation. For example, if you have NOT allowed Backward Movement in your Quiz Settings, then under certain circumstances that will mean you cannot navigate because resuming the lesson dumps you somewhere in the middle of the quiz and you're not allowed (by the settings) to go to an earlier slide.
Is that what you are seeing?

Why does safari re-open my last visited page instead of my homepage? I have the preferences set to always open to homepage in new tabs or windows or upon starting safaring.

Why does Safari open my last visited page?? I have gone into preferences and said to open to homepage when starting safaring or opening a new tab yet each time it opens to the last page I visited.

Hold down "shift" key and launch Safari
or hold down "option" key before quitting Safari to discard saved windows from previous session.
Disable Resume feature.

System Preferences > General
Uncheck the box next to "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps".
10.8 Mountain Lion
System Prefernces > General
Chckmark the box next to "Close windows when quitting an application".

Is there a way to force the revalidation of last visited page on start of Firefox whithout no-store directive?

When I set Firefox to start from last visited page and this page contains response headers Cache-Control:mast-revalidate and Expires:0 (not in meta tag) the page doesn't revalidated on the start of Firefox.
Is there a way to force the revalidation in such situation but using the cache as usual. I mean - I can't use no-store directive in Firefox (can in Opera and Chrome) since it prevents usage of cache at all (and Last Modified mechanism in particular) ?

Thanks try67, but it isn't a required field. As I mentioned, only about 20% of submissions will require filling it in.
There isn't a submit button. Not even sure what I would do with/or how I would implement a submit button. After processing the form, the filled out form is 'Saved As' to keep the original forms integrity intact. The 'Saved As' file is renamed appropriately, and then it is printed to a PDF file and attached to the appropriate customer file.

History - turn on columns "First Visited" and "Last Visited" replacing/instead of "Visit Date"?

Sometime before Firefox 3.x, in the History window -- it would show you columns of "First Visited" and "Last Visited".
Now you only get "Visit Date" which is equivalent to "Last Visited".
* Question -- anyone know how to bring back the "First Visited" column to the History window?
* I looked in about:config and couldn't find anything.
* I searched for a Addon and didn't find a current one. (There used to be an Addon called Extended History Manager that would show that column but an administrator disabled the download page for it.)

Having that column by default in the Mozilla suite browser. (pre Firefox) was awesome! And at least in Firefox 1 and 2 you could use Extended History Manager Addon. I miss "First Visited"! :(

Sort by Last Visited & Sort by Most Visited not working - blank screen

Recently installed FF 4.01 and can't get a history listing with "Sort by Last Visited" and "Sort by Most Visited" - in both instance all I get is a blank screen. I get full history listings with the other sort options, View Date & Site OK but not on last and most visited.
Running FF 4.01 on WinXP - SP2

I finally got it working - by a fluke. I accessed the drop down history at the navigation arrows by right clicking to check out if that was working and the next time I tried the view by last visited in the sidebar it worked as it's supposed to. So it seemed that it just needed a jump start.

Having an odd issue. Frequently, when I go to Safari, I see a popup that goes away in a few seconds. Looks almost like an app download, but disappears in a hurry and then goes to site I was last visiting. I'm stumped how to fix (popups disabled, etc)

Thanks for the update! Next, and this is like a last step for me, but I would quit Safari one more time, then clear all the Safari data from the phone with this info and then test it out again:
Safari web settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Clear information from your device
To clear your history and cookies from Safari in iOS 8, tap Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Clear History and tap Clear Cookies and Data.
To clear other stored information from Safari, tap Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.

How to get last visited directory in JFileChooser?

Hi,
I m using a swing application.
I just want to know if i select any fuile in JFileChooser once then if i again go to select file then it must open the last visited directory.
Can anybody tell me how to do that?

You just save the result of the last JFileChooser, and feed it into the next instance of the JFileChooser... or just reuse the first instance again and again....

My firefox always opens at my last visited website, instead of my homepage. I have checked my setting, and have set it according but still it keeps doing the same thing

Firefox keeps opening at the last visited site; even though the option for the home page are set to open at google/firefox. I have changed the option also to blank page but still the same results.

Make sure that you close Firefox properly to prevent session restore from restoring the previous session automatically.

Multiple forums have addressed the fact that Yahoo is hijacking new tabs. I installed the ShopAtHome toolbar - which I love - but then I get Yahoo installed (mysteriously and uninvited).
I would like the new tab to reset to its default of: either the panels of previous sites, or the blank page. The prior issues relating to netassistant do not work.

How does Craigslist remember my last visited location in private browsing?

This is for a Mac running OSX 10.8 using private browsing with no exceptions of any kind for any site..
I use a Craigslist bookmark for, say Pittsburgh. I then switch inside CL to, say, Los Angeles CL. I then close FF.
I restart FF and using my Craigslist bookmark for Pittsburgh I log in to CL again.
This is when the problem starts: Little Snitch (a program that alerts you to outgoing internet connections) asks for permission to log in the the Los Angeles site that I logged out from and restarted FF. SO CL KNOWS MY LAST VISITED CL SITE after I shut down FF

are you logging in to your CL account while using private browsing? (private browsing will only take care of traces left on your computer, but can't control what a website is doing with data that's available)

How to make login page navigate to last visited page?

In our application, there are many public pages. In certain page, users need to login and then add or edit something. But login page will navigate to page 1 by default. Uses need to click some times to locate the last visited page.
I defined a new applicate item "LASTPAGE", and a new application process "setpage":

Safari won't start w/homepage or last visited page.What causes this?

Safari will not start with my homepage or the last visited page. When I check the "restore windows when quitting box in "general Preferences" it will not stay checked. Therefore Safari always starts with a page that I visited days ago.

but I am not sure what I am running now after the restore, it looks like from the crash report that it has gone back to version 5 and maybe thats the issue, but software update reports there is no updates available.
The report indicates 5.1.6 is currently installed.
