Resynched songs showing up as "purchased"

Recently had a hard drive crash, reinstalled Itunes 9 and brought songs back from an old backup. I wanted the all the latest music from my Iphone 3GS to sync with Itunes so i used a third party application by Wind Solution (Copy Trans)and it worked great. However, it wouldn't create a playlist, tried authorizing (it did), tried transfer purchase (it did) and then signing out & in but to avail. Then I noticed all my songs are "purchase", even when I rip a CD. What am I missing???

Yes, that's pretty much it. However it isn't Apple that removes things from the store. It would be the rights holder (usually the recored label) since Apple doesn't own the copyrights to the music is sells.
However, keep in mind that as long as you have the tracks downloaded to your computer they will still be in your iTunes library.

What do you mean by 'does not work' ? If you would like help from these user-to-user forums then more info would be useful.
Do they songs show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes ? If they do, but they don't have the cloud symbol against them for redownloading, then do you still have them listed in the Music part of your library (where you would click on them to play them) ? If you do then try deleting them from there and they should then get the cloud symbol against them in Purchased for redownloading.
If you are in a country where music can't be redownloaded,or if you've changed countries since buying them or they are no longer in your country's store (content providers occasionally remove their content), then you will need to copy them back from your backup of your downloads/library.

Songs that I have purchased through iTunes on my iphone appear in my itunes on my laptop and show up in itunes on my phone but they will not play.

The songs show up on my itunes on my iphone4S but when I go to play them they just skip over to the next song.
I had to restore my phone and the last backup I did was corrupted and I had to use a back up from June, the songs that are being skipped over were purchased after then. But they are showing up on my itune on my laptop....

Downloading past purchases from the App Store ... - Support - Apple

I have songs that have been purchased and they show up in my I tunes but the are not showing up bold like all other songs in my library, they will not let me download from the cloud and will not load onto my ipod.

I have a handfull of songs in my library that are not showing up bold like the other songs. When I click the icon to download from the cloud nothing happens and they will not load onto my ipod. When I look for them in the purchased area they show up as purchased and downloaded.

Audiobooks are not currently part of the content that can be re-downloaded.

So i've found the answer to this by clicking on every menu and setting in the itunes store. It turns out some purchases in the cloud can be hidden probably as the result of an interrupted transfer/sync/backup or a network outage. To unhide purchases 'greyed out ' items , go to the Itunes store (on the PC) click on your account name and select view account. (you'll be prompted for your itunes password) once you are in scroll down to the purchase history section. there should be an option for hidden purchases. click through and click on unhide purchases, redownloadble purchases. any hidden purchases will then show up. click on unhide to reactivate and download. This may only work for purchases in the cloud.

You are trying to find a loophole to circumvent a basic rule that prohibits the transfer of purchased content from one Apple ID to another.
Content tied to an Apple ID are bound to that Apple ID forever. You can not merge or trade accounts. Well, not (officially) anyway...

There is a similar setting for Videos on that Settings screen, so if you leave that 'on' you may have similar happening in the Videos app

It sounds like there’s a grayed out song in your iTunes library that can’t be played or downloaded again like other past purchases. Try taking a look at the article linked below and verify the computer is authorized to play that content.

Songs appear to be missing
Songs containing DRM (Digital Rights Management) might not appear in iCloud, or might appear grayed out. This can occur if your computer is not authorized to play that content. Try authorizing your computer, then manually update iTunes Match. To determine what Apple ID your computer needs to be authorized for to play a specific song:
Locate and select the song in your iTunes library.
Choose File > Get Info.
In the Summary tab, locate the Account Name field in the right column. Write it down.
Click OK.
Choose Store > Authorize this Computer.
Type in the account name from the Summary field and enter its password. Click Authorize.
Choose Store > Update iTunes Match.

Purchased new computer and have opened iTunes and imported my entire library into iTunes (library is on an external disk). Only some of my purchased songs showed up under Store/Purchased. The purchased songs are in the library, they are just not listed under "Purchased" as well. Any way to fix this?
