Value only articles Represents a group of articles whose inventory is to be managed on a value basis, but not on an article basis.
Use
All goods movements for this group of articles are posted to the value-only article. The delivered price and sales price are updated, but not the stock quantity.
The categories of value-only article are:
u2022     Hierarchy articles
u2022     Merchandise category articles
u2022     Group articles
Use article type - WERT
To allow you to manage stocks on a value basis, profiles have been created in Customizing for Valuation and Account Assignment in Profiles for value-based inventory management. These profiles are valid for the whole client and specify for a site whether and in what form value-based inventory management is allowed. You must assign the profiles to the site in site maintenance.

  • "Value Only" Merchandise Category???

    Hai,
    I created a new Merchandise Category and tried to create a "Value Only" reference article for it. But when I choose the "WERP value only", I am getting an error that "value only can't be used as the article type". Is there any way to create any Merchandise Category as "value only"?
    Regards,
    Maheshwaran. I

    Hi,
        For value only article you have to create like this.
    1. Create Merchandise Category in WG21... then create a MG Reference Article with article type FOOD (excl. perishables), here maintain all the details in (basic data, listing, Purchasing... all the views).
    2. After creation of that go to WG22.. enter the merchandise category then click on "MC category Article".. now you can start creating Value only article.

  • Using BOM's in a Retail System with Value only articles

    Hi
    I have a few questions that i would appreciate some assistance on.
    Background : I am trying to setup BOMs with articles that are assigned to a Value only Merchandise Cat Article. The BOM process does not allow such an article because the articles are not listed in the Site.
    I have setup a Merchandise Hierarchy and assigned a Mercchandise cat group for one of the levels as I want to do Retail costing at department level for the specific group of articles in the specific MC. I have therefore assigned a Value only MC article to that level.
    I have updated the Site with the corresponding indicator for the MC to be managed at group level.
    All articles in the MC group (value only), are not updated in MARC and hence the error when trying to include this in a BOM.creation CS01
    How do i get around this?
    I am able to create Sales sets for the finished article and assign the value only articles to this Sales Set article in transaction MM41. What would be the limitations in using this function instead of BOM?
    Are there any issues to consider by using BOMs or Sales sets?
    The objective is to handle components on an department valuation basis and not on a stock count level hence the MC valua only article.
    Please send me any feedback or experiences you may have on this.
    Thanks!
    Pat Pillay

    Just wondering if you came up with anything.
    My macbook doesn't even have a firewire input, but it does have an ethernet input.
    I'll probably need something faster than the USB being that I want to record live drums while listening to other tracks at the same time. You're not the first I've heard mention that ethernet is even faster than firewire.
    Thanks

  • Value only article(IS Retail)

    Hi
    Can anyone help me to know the Value only article process in SAP Retail system .
    How in POS level the keys associated with Merchandise category post an issue in SAP central system .
    The significance of inventory profile maintained in the site master

    Hi Kumaran,
    Value Only articles are called as Article Type WERT
    All goods movements for this group of articles are posted to the value-only article. The delivered price and sales price are updated, but not the stock quantity.
    To generate listing data for value-based inventory management in sites, you use a background job. You can define this background job with transaction code SM36.
    Hope this info useful.

  • How to implement value only articles in SAP retail.

    Hi
    I have gone through the sap material on Value only materials, but i am not able to get hold of how value only materials would be implemented in SAP retail. Should we use WERT material type to start with or is there any other way to implement the value only materials.
    Any material or links leading to step by step procedure to implement value only materials would be highly appreciated.
    regards
    mohammed

    Please have alook at

    Material type WERT is correct.
    In Material type maintenance you can control at all if a store will be value only inventroy managmenet or both.
    Further in the Site master WB02, you can control it on MC level.

  • Value Only Articles

    Hi all,
    We have the value only articles set up at the merchandise category level. This is how it functions. We buy as indivitual SKU in the warehouse. The store orders from the warehouse as indivitual SKU. Warehouse  GI out as indivitual SKU and when GR into the store it turns to the group posting SKU. The accounting docs are created in the GI stage. Then this article is sold as a different article  (which has a material master in SAP)  in the POS system.
    I would like to know how the moving average price and selling price are determined for the value only articles as this is managed on a value only basis without the quantity. We use moving average price and retail.
    Thanks

  • ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG Classic Report

    I am trying to create a report but get a ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column error. I am a fairley new to Apex and my SQL skills are far from expert level. I have 3 groups we will call 'A' 'B' 'C'. 'A' is the best group 'B' is the next best and 'C' is the lowest group. Let say there are 5 people they all want to be in group A but where they are placed is based on their audition score and the users selection.
    Joe score is 50
    Beth 40
    John 30
    Ken 20
    Sally 10
    The user selects that he wants 2 people in group 'A' and 1 in group 'B' and 2 in group C. The SQL needs to rank Joe and Beth in Group A. John in group 'B' and Ken and Sally in group 'C'. The user does this type of selection for about 15 different instrument groups to make up group (band) for 'A', 'B', and 'C'.
    Here is what I have come up with that gives me the error mention above when creating a report but works in SQL developer. There is probably a far better way to write this than what I have. I am open to suggestions. Band 'A' SQL example is for all instruments. SQL's for 'B' and 'C' are just a samples of the whole thing.

    Welcome to the forum: please read the FAQ and forum sticky threads (if you haven't done so already).
    When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    <li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
    <li>Region/item type(s)
    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.
    You should also always post code wrapped in <tt>\...\</tt> tags.
    I am trying to create a reportWhen asking a question about "reports" it's firstly essential to differentiate between standard and interactive reports. Which is it?
    but get a ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column error.Where and when do you get this error? When creating the report? Or running it?
    There's also an obvious bug (repeated many times):
    and a.festival_year = ':P6_YEAR'
    ORDER BY total, a.ID DESC NULLS LAST)
    WHERE Stu_Rank &lt;= (select hb_piccolo from festival_years
                   where year = ':P6_YEAR')
    ...<tt>':P6_YEAR'</tt> is a literal string, not a bind variable reference. <tt>':P6_YEAR'</tt> seems an unlikely value for <tt>festival_year</tt> and <tt>year</tt> values. It should be:
    and a.festival_year = :P6_YEAR
    ORDER BY total, a.ID DESC NULLS LAST)
    WHERE Stu_Rank &lt;= (select hb_piccolo from festival_years
                   where year = :P6_YEAR)
    ...or even better:
    and a.festival_year = to_number(:P6_YEAR)
    ORDER BY total, a.ID DESC NULLS LAST)
    WHERE Stu_Rank &lt;= (select hb_piccolo from festival_years
                   where year = to_number(:P6_YEAR))
    ...if the <tt>festival_year</tt> and <tt>year</tt> columns are of type NUMBER. There's a possibility that this bug is in fact the source of your error...
    Furthermore, this is a long piece of SQL. It may be that APEX can't cope with the length. However it's also very repetitive: we see the same SQL pattern repeated many times and UNIONed together. One way to reduce the length of the query would be to replace some (or all) of those repeating patterns. This will not only make the query more APEX-friendly, but it will probably be more efficient and easier to maintain too.
    I recommend that you Re: 2. How do I ask a question on the forums? that will enable others to have a go at this. Reproducing the app on apex.oracle.com and posting guest developer credentials would also be helpful.

  • Diplay Characteristics values only on hierarchy leaves

    Dear All,
    I have an issue in the BEx Query Analyser.
    I have a hierarchy which displays values of the other characteristics as follows:
    E       | William
             | John
    > EA | William
    > EB | John
    The hierarchy nodes diplay all the values of its sons.
    Want i want to do is diplaying characteristics values only on hierarchy leaves....
    How can i do it ???
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello ,
    You can try this:
    You can create different Level as an InfoObject and assign infoobject to info object(Want i want to do is diplaying characteristics values only on hierarchy leaves....)  as a navigational attribute. Then you can use this in your report and and create a filter on it.
    Thanks.

  • Error M7 311  "No Special stock defined for value only material"

    I had this in the SD forum however someone suggested to go to the MM forum.  Here is my issue
    I am receiving an error when trying to receive our demo unit in as an inbound receipt off of an RMA (this is our normal process when we send a demo unit to customer).
    The error message is "No special stock defined for value only material" I noticed that the MRP views were not extended so i tried to extend those and it still gives the same error message in our testing client and also created a new RMA to see if same error exists and it does, please advise
    NOTE:  In our Accounting 1 tab we are not utilizing the valuation category in the Accounting 1 tab of the material master.  RMA is a Return of a material for service.  Our Demo units after issued to customer for a demo come back using this method to check and service if needed before putting into stock.  Material does not have a procurement tab as this is considered as an asset.  No split valuation.

    Dear Kimberly
    Issue:No special stock defined for value only material
    This mesaage will come up when you have active the valuation category for the material in Accounting 1 view
    but not  extend the valuation type for that material, due to this reason syestem is not able to find out  the exact valuation for the material,   You can opt for 2  suggestion
    1 Extend the material in  t. code. MM01 for the right valuation type
    2 If you dont want to  use Valuation category ( if you dont want the split valuation for the material) you fst settle the all Open PO and quantity for that material  and  then archieve the material and recreate again
    Please let me know  if u  have any query

    Hi,
    Why the value to be negative. I think you cant enter negative value for a material. Kindly explain me your scenario.

    I'll appreciate for anyone who can help me solve this problem.

    Hi Zhenquan,
    The issue is that you can not direct insert more than 4K (as you have discovered). Two methods I use in this situation are:
    1) sql statement or procedure that returns a lob locator into an ODP.NET OracleBlob parameter such as:
    insert into the_table (primary_key, blob_column) values (pk_value, empty_blob()) returning blob_column into :blob_parameter.
    Once you have the OracleBlob you should be able to write/update the data.
    2) use an anonymous pl/sql block or package that uses the dbms_lob supplied package to work with the LOB.
    Here is a simple console example...
    SQL> create table blob_test
    2 (
    3 blob_id number,
    4 blob_data blob,
    5 constraint blob_test_pk primary key (blob_id)
    6 )
    7 tablespace users;
    Table created.
    Sub Main()
    Dim strFileName As String = "c:\temp\testimage.jpg"
    Dim fsBlob As FileStream = New FileStream(strFileName, FileMode.Open)
    Dim bytes(fsBlob.Length) As Byte
    fsBlob.Read(bytes, 0, fsBlob.Length)
    fsBlob.Close()
    Dim con As OracleConnection = New OracleConnection("User Id=/; Data Source=lt8i")
    con.Open()
    Dim trans As OracleTransaction = con.BeginTransaction()
    Dim sql As String = "insert into blob_test (blob_id, blob_data) values (1,empty_blob()) returning blob_data into :blob_parameter"
    Dim blob_parameter As OracleParameter = New OracleParameter
    blob_parameter.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Blob
    blob_parameter.Direction = ParameterDirection.InputOutput
    Dim cmd As OracleCommand = New OracleCommand(sql, con)
    cmd.Parameters.Add(blob_parameter)
    cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
    Dim blob As OracleBlob = blob_parameter.Value
    blob.Write(bytes, 0, bytes.Length)
    sql = "update blob_test set blob_data = :blob_parameter where blob_id = 1"
    cmd.CommandText = sql
    blob_parameter.Value = blob
    cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
    trans.Commit()
    End Sub
    This sample was tossed together pretty quickly, so it is not a complete, bullet-proof sample, but hopefully it will give you what you need to get started. The 'testimage.jpg' file is just over 5MB in size.
    Hope that helps,
    Mark

    However, I am getting the error 'ORA- 01461 : Can Bind a long value only for insert into a column error'.
    I tried a lot but cant get rid of.
    Any help gurus ?

    You have an error in the code:
    1. you don't provide a value for 'what' - you have to tell Oracle what it should execute when it submits the job.
    And remember - with ISUBMIT the next_date parameter has datatype VARCHAR2 - SUBMIT uses datatype DATE. So make sure you provide a VARCHAR2 value and do not rely on implicit conversion.
