Need Help to understand what SAP short term study or course would help me to understand the requirement if I am holding a decision making position in any organization to opt SAP into it. is there any certification in the perspective of END USER only.

If you are looking for a end user training, I'm sure there are SAP tool and techniques conducted by SAP. Before that you need to finalize on the module you are looking for based on your prior experience or expertize. If you are in Finance area, then learning the end user courses for FICO would help.
Modules in SAP are dynamic catering to specific needs of customers. It has broad classification of technical and funcationl areas. technical areas deal with exploring options in specific SAP technologies, where as functional is more from a design and picturizing the specific business area (Like retail, medical, insurance, manufacturing... more Industry specific). Later part would come only with expereince and the former with technical skills with technology.

Error during DatabaseCopy using SAP tools for SQL Server (v7.12)

I'm trying to perform a system copy from PRD to QAS. The database has been mounted to QAS via detach and attach method. I did a DBCC on the database and everything looks OK. I'm running SAPINST (SAP Tools for MSSQL) and selecting the Database Copy option. The source database has a schema of DBO. Both PRD and QAS are running SAP 4.7/Basis 620. The target schema is QAS. SAPINST fails in step 2 (Define Params) with:
"This service cannot be used for a system with SAP ABAP release 620"
Is this message misleading? Has anyone receive this message before.
UPDATE:
I donwloaded the latest version of SAP Tools for MSSQL and now it failes during the execution phase on step, "Convert DB objects to new schema".

This is looks like permission issue on source folder
Copy source in to your local drive and try again.
I had same issue and able to resolve after copy EXP1 EXP2 and EXP3 folder in to local drive C: with Everyone full access

Seldom have I found process content which sufficiently explains both manual and automated processes in a format which is sufficiently simple to engage discussion (between project teams and business representatives). Is there a way to strike the required balance - simplicity for the sake of engagement; yet rich enough to record SAP dependencies, system requirements and so forth.

Portal: Disable the SAP tool bar and enable a pop up in SAP IAC iview

Hi Experts,
My requirement:A user will open the ESS->Bank details iview (which uses the standard transaction PZ03) and would like to edit a record. So, he clicks on the change button and a screen to edit the record comes up. Here, he edits information as required and now decides not to save these changes. Then the user clicks on the back button and a pop up dialog box appears which asks the user if he would like to proceed without saving the changes. Once he clicks on OK, he is taken back to the previous screen. Also, in the iview, the SAP tool bar must be invisible.
I can achieve the dialog pop up to appear using these ITS parameters:
~popups = 1
~generateddynpro = 1
In this case, the SAP menu tool bar is very much visible.
If I give the ITS service parameters as
~webgui = 1
~webgui_simple_toolbar = 1
~popups = 1
~webgui_popups = 1
Here, I'm able to disable the SAP tool bar but my pop up dialog box does not appear.When I click on back button, I continue to remain on the same screen instead of the pop up dialog box getting opened.
If I give both ~webgui and ~generated dynpro together, it's not helping either.I cant see the pop up again, but able to disable the tool bar.
Need some inputs to fix this issue.
We are on EP 7.0, ECC 6.0 and ESS/MSS 50.4

An implementation of Webdynpro based UI could be estimated by a 'standard' technique like any other U:
1. Try to count the number of views/screens/popups in your application. The estimation time will be proportional to the quantity.
2. Try to count the number of external interfaces would be used in the application. For example, quantity of necessary BAPI invocations (RFC), quantity of Web-service invocations or EJB calls. Also quantity of native JDBC queries if any.
Test = Nviews x Hview + Nint x Hint, where Hview & Hint time in hours for average implementing of one UI view and time for adding of average service invocation.

What SAP tool do you use to manage daily and weekly tasks etc

Hi guys
I'm new to basis and am going through setting up my (and others) daily tasks and would like to know if there is an SAP tool that I can use to manage them.
This way all my tasks can be used by other administrators if I'm away, I can report on tasks completed etc for compliance and I can monitor whether contractors etc are doing their jobs properly.

1. If your query is related to daily system administration/monitoring tasks, you can make use of the Central System Administration functionality within SAP Solution Manager, which enable you to schedule the Basis related tasks along with the required frequency.
This is a good functionality.
If any of the tasks is not performed/left open, it generates an open action item icon in the initial dashboard of Solution Manager.
With this, you/ your team can also make a note of the tasks they have performed and finally you can generate report from it.
2. Along with the above said functionality, you can also use the Service Level Reporting functionality which gives an overview of the Service Level performance of the systems.

ERROR: The new SAP tools in /usr/sap/DEV/EHPI/abap/exe cannot connect

Hi All.
I am attempting to upgrade my ECC 6.0 EPH3 system to EPH4.(System 'i' V6R1M1) I am hitting an error on phase PREP_INIT/CHECKPROF_INI which states 'ERROR: The new SAP tools in /usr/sap/DEV/EHPI/abap/exe cannot connect to your database.' The log file /usr/sap/DEV/EHPI/abap/log/DBCONNCHK.LOG contains more details about the failure.
At this point I see the processes has created to additional kernel libraries: SAPDEV70UP and SAPDEV70U2
I am logged on as DEVOFR per the documentation. DEVOFR is the owner of all objects in /usr/sap/DEV/EPHI.
Here is the error from DBCONNCHK.LOG :

Also we must understand that SAP cross applications (xApps), xKN (Knowledge Network) and xEPM (Employee Process Management) target the customer needs by not starting from a transactional business scenario but rather from a people-centric work process. Hence for the customer targets it is important that new design ideas are tested with users to ensure that the design truly fits the users' needs.
Apart from this we also have Wireframe as a toolbox element in Visual composer which displays the outline of model element.

check whether port 21200 is not used by other application,
use start -> run-> cmd
and enter netstat -ano to identify port used by services.

Any SAP tool that will perform audit logging views of personal data?

I am wondering if there is a SAP tool or a third party tool that will perform audit logging of end users when viewing personal data?
The audit record should contain: who is viewing, what data is being viewed and the date/time stamp.
This is required to meet data privacy legal requirements.

SAP Tools for SQL Server issue

I used SAP tools to upgrade the database after upgrading MS SQL Server 2000 to MS SQL Server 2005. In the middle of the process I got the following error:
MDB-05053 Errors when executing sql command: .
sapinst.log and sapinst_dev.log shows this error first:
FCO-00011 The step RunMAXConversion with step key |SAPMSSTOOLS|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|MssSysCopy|ind|ind|ind|ind|4|0|MssYukonUpg|ind|ind|ind|ind|5|0|RunMAXConversion was executed with status ERROR .

please open a command prompt, switch to the installation directory under Program Files and set the environment variable
set SAPINST_MSS_LOG=0N
Start the sapinst tool again from the same location from this command promt. Then a MSSLog.log is written during the run. Check the log for additional errors.

I have to run crystal reports on different report server versions. This is a repetition of the tasks as it requires installation of report servers and executing reports on both. Is there any SAP reporting tool which simplifies all these tasks , runs the report at the same time on different report servers and gives output for both executions?
