Retail sources for new Palm Centro (Verizon?)

I recently lost my Palm Centro (Verizon), and would like to replace it with another Palm Centro. Unfortunately, it no longer seems to be avaiable from either Palm or Verizon. Does anyone know of a retail (not eBay) source for the Palm Centro (Verizon) that is not excessive in price (i.e., over $100?). I am hoping to locate a new one. Thanks.

You are looking for a discontinued model, so your sources are pretty much limited to after-market places such as eBay. I doubt very much that you will find any new ones at any traditional retail outlets.

Palm Centro - Verizon - will not recognize memory card

I have the new Palm Centro from Verizon. Had multiple problems with the pda and now with the memory card. I have a Sandisk micro sd 512MB card. It works on my old Moto phone and in the card reader on the computer but the phone does not beep when it is inserted and the menu says "no card inserted." I do not have another card to try at this time. Do I have a bad phone unit?

Did you follow Palm's Guide to Upgrading when moving to the Centro? Or did you sync to the same username of the old device?
If the latter, that is the source of your problem. You'll need to Hard Reset the phone and rename the /Backup directory on your computer before doing a HotSync.
How to Upgrade from a Previous Palm device to a Newer One: http://kb.palm.com/ and enter 12926 (General Upgrade guide) or 45175 (Upgrade to Centro) into the "solution ID:" box (lower right).

Will a att sim card work in a palm centro verizon phone

Long story,made short...I had a Palm centro 690 that got smashed,my carrier is with at&t,I purchased a palm centro 690 "verizon" no contract phone from e-bay without giving it much thought.Can i use my at&t sim card in it even though it's a palm centro"verizon phone?

No, you can't use a SIM card in a Verizon phone. SIM cards only work in GSM design phones, while Verizon is a CDMA phone. Totally different radio with no SIM slot at all!

Unlocking contacts for BT connection to 2010 Lexus RX (Palm Centro Verizon)

Easy enough to pair the Centro to the Lexus (with Navigation), however, contacts will not transfer as they are locked on the Centro. How can I unlock it and transfer my 900+ contacts?

When you say they are locked, do you mean they are marked as private?
Unless you make the records private, they should transfer to the car kit.
On Page 197 of the user guide are the instructions regarding private records. See if the records are marked as private and if they are, make them visible and then try again.
Go to the learn tab on the support page for the user guide.

Have you verified that your Centro is compatible with your Lexus?

Palm Centro Verizon, Palm Desktop 4.1.4, Calendar WILL NOT SYNC

as above. I tried to install the V6.2 desktop that came with the phone; the Hotsync crashes every time it starts (some HS20Log.dll problem), so I installed 4.1.4.
The calendar will not sync. It hangs forever and ever. Everything else syncs just fine.
I brought my trusty M515 home, synced it with the home computer, then synced the Centro to get the data. It synced ONCE (the calendar) and never again.
I reformatted the disk and reinstalled the OS (XP SP3), got the same V6.2 hotsync problem and reverted to 4.1.4, and that's where I am now.
Help.

Glad you got things to sync, just a quick thought.
4.1.4 is a rather old version of Palm Desktop. I would have suggested you try 4.1.4E, as it was designed for later devices and has some updated USB drivers in it...

Help me shop for new Palm...

I've had a IIIc for probably 10 years and it has my life on it. I love the touch screen, it's pretty rugged, the color display (easy to see) and the small size. I realize that it's pretty old and I want to shop for a new Palm.
I really only use it for address book and date book.
I have this little leather case for it that I keep business cards.
Any suggestions as to what a good replacement/upgrade would be?

Loudell, any of Palm's devices will be able to import your information - either a PalmOS phone, or one of the few PDA's still sold (but going soon!)
It all depends on what "bells and whistles" you desire. The Z22 is the most basic, entry-level model PDA and has no card slot, or wireless connectivity (other than IR).
The E2 is the mid-range device; it adds BlueTooth. The TX has a large screen, BlueTooth, and Wifi.

How to set "from" field in Versamail 4.0.1 EAS / Palm Centro Verizon

I have set up a Palm Centro to sync via Activesync using Versamail 4.01.00. All seems to be working normally but there doesn't seem to be a place to set the senders proper first and last name as the sender. When I send an outbound message the recipient receives the message from login "username" instead of "Firstname Lastname". Anyone know where to change this?

Data source for new FIGL

I generated the data source for the totals records of FIGL( new ).
But how to get the data source for line items?
Should I still use the 0FI_GL_4 for that?

N0 you need to create ur own generic datasource for line items - it is not delivered.
0FI_GL_4 reads BSEG and BKPF
where as the new Gl line items is based on table FAGLFLEXA

How to synch Palm Centro (Verizon Wireless) with Windows 7, 64 bit??????

I tried to sync with USB adapater that came with the phone but I get error message that device driver could not download. Can someone please help me.

You cannot natively sync a PalmOS device with a 64bit OS via USB - the solution is to do it wirelessly.

Picture messaging on palm centro, verizon?

i was told that i had to connect to the internet to view or save picture messages.
i have unlimited text messaging, so does that mean i can receive picture messages for no charge?

Unusually if you have unlimited text messages and a voice plan then it might mean you don't have a data plan. In order to view picture messages this will require data. I might be a good idea to contact your service provided for more information on what you need to do this. Verizon might charge you more for using something that you don't have.

Best source for new Treo 680

I just had a bad experience with a seller on eBay - but I still want to find a new Palm Unlocked GSM Treo 680 to replace my old 650. What would anyone of you suggest as the best place to find one from somebody reputable, since Palm no longer sells them?

Hi.. Welcome to the Palm forums. Personally I have never trusted Ebay however, I know alot of people who have gotten good quality products cheaply there. Go to a vendor you know is reputable like Amazon. I did check and they do have unlocked gsm 680s available.

Pages Templates - any sources for new ones?

Has anyone found a good resource for new Pages templates? It tried iworkcommunity.com, but was wondering if anyone has found others?

There's always mactopia.com. It's Microsoft's site, and the templates were made for Word, but you can import them into Pages.

Bought new Palm Centro, no way to power it.

Just got it from Sprint, both AC Adapter and USB cable are aftermarket in the retail box, meaning I have no way of properly (and possibly safely) recharge my Centro. It also came out the box at 0% as opposed to probably ~30%.
I would rather not return the phone for a refund, but right now it's pretty useless as a paperweight. Any advice?
Edit: If the genuine adaptor is a NetBit brand, then I probably will return the Centro.

I own two TXes, each purchased new (one from amazon, the other directly from Palm). The A/C power supplies which were packaged with them are distinctly different.
I don't think that Palm actually makes any of its own hardware...I sincerely doubt that it owns any of the assembly plants in China where the devices and accessories are made, with parts outsourced to all over the place. So what?
