Retain formula on retrieval sometimes doesn't work

Hi,we are using a spreadsheet to retrieve data form essbase, which includes some formulas. This works perfect most of the time. For some reason this same spreadsheet kicks out all formulas upon retrieval eventhough the retain on retrieval box is still checked. This happens at random, and if I disconnect from essbase for about two hours the thing works perfect again...Any idea what the cause could be... I'd appreciate your inputs. Thanks :-)

It is true that multiple sessions will interfere with the "retain on retrieve" settings in one session if the other has this set differently.You can however add some VBA code to set the settings before doing a retrieval. Compositing in KDE sometimes doesn't work on Nvidia hardware

I tried searching whether similar issue was already discussed on the forums, but didn't find anything; sorry if I missed it.
I have two different systems with Nvidia hardware, one with a 9500M GS, and another one with a GTX 580. After updating to KDE 4.11 (as far as I remember, this issue started appearing at about that time; now it still happens with KDE 4.12) compositing in KDE sometimes doesn't work. By "sometimes" I mean that once in a while I boot the computer and compositing isn't working, then I reboot and everything is fine. Sometimes hitting Alt+Shift+F12 twice helps, but sometimes it doesn't. I didn't gather statistics, but it seems to happen on the 9500M GS system more often than on the GTX580 one. On the former it happens once in about three boots, while on the latter it's something like once per ten boots, but I may be wrong.
I use proprietary driver, since I sometimes use the computer for gaming, and the opensource driver is still not quite up to the task. Btw, games work fine even when compositing doesn't work.
I haven't noticed any similar issue on my other machine with Intel graphics.
If anyone could help in identifying the cause, I would be much obliged, because I have no idea where to start searching.

Good guess but even if I miss the word or any text, in normal use it still brings up the menu (with options limited to 'zoom in' and 'zoom out'). When I'm not getting the menu for word correction I'm not getting any menu in the body of the document at all - it's strange!

Essbase not retaining formulas on retrieval in Excel

Good Evening!
Has anyone seen an instance where essbase won't retain formulas on retrieval in Excel?
We are using Essbase v6.5.4
apparently rebooting the computer fixes the problem, but that is irritating.
Is there a patch or a setting somewhere?

Yes, there is a setting.
Go to Essbase->Options->Mode (that's a tab)->Formula Preservation/Retain on Retrieval.
You'll have limitations on pivoting dimensions on and off but the add-in does a decent job of keeping the formulas (mostly) on sheet.

My suggestion:
1) Always using MAC AIR with the power plug in.
2)Don' let the power level of battory fall under 30% percentage.
3)If the MAC can't be recharged now, just let it be with power plugged, WAIT...

It's definitely not the ear phones it's the ipad because I've tried too many different headphones. It's been 7 months that I've bought it from the apple store so would you be able to fix it. Unload All Modules sometimes doesn't work with LabVIEW

TestStand's File >> Unload All Modules (and its RunState.Engine.UnloadAllModules() function) sometimes works and sometimes doesn't (with LabVIEW). When it doesn't, I have to quit LabVIEW to make TestStand unload LabVIEW VIs, otherwise I can't edit them.
Is there an "Unload All Modules" command that works all the time?

Hm, i assume that you have callbacks defined which do call those modules. Possible callbacks to look first are: SequenceFileLoad/Unload, FrontEndCallback.
Another possible reason is that there are components running in the LV RTE (runtime engine) calling into the VIs you try to debug/modify in the development environment.
Can you pinpoint the "lock" to specific sequences/modules? Do they lock only after specific sequences/modules have been executed?

If you do not hear sound from the iPhone speaker, try these steps:
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.

Reply sometimes doesn't work in Mail 3.0

I upgraded to Leopard by doing an archive and install, and everything seem to be working great! However, the 'reply' function quite often doesn't work in Mail. If I quit and restart the program, then the reply is saved under "drafts", but doesn't contain any text - including the wording of the email I was trying to reply to. I get the following error-messages from the console:

I've been having the same problem (though I haven't looked at the console yet to verify the same exact error).
There doesn't seem to be a situation that I can identify to cause the problem (i.e. waking from sleep mode), so it's difficult to reproduce consistently. The error seems to happen randomly. Last night I was getting the error every time I sent a single message. So I'd create and send a message, and then the next message I'd try to create or reply to, I couldn't. I'd have to quit Mail and start it again to gain functionality.
When I do have the problem where the compose window isn't created when replying, I also can not start a new message, note, or forward a message. Basically, no new windows can pop up besides the windows that are already there in Mail. When I quit mail, every window I tried to create by replying, making a new message, or forwarding, appears in the draft folder, just before the program closes. Then, the next time I open Mail all the windows appear that I tried to create, with no text in them. Very strange. Looks like this poster has a similar problem.

Home button issue (button sometimes doesn't work)

I have the problem that my homebutton sometimes does not work. I want to go to multi tasking view for example, so I press it twice, but I just go to the menu like I would have pressed it once. Same happens when I want to go back from Standby and I press it once... Nothing happens. I sometimes have to repeat it 5 times until it finally works. Why is this happening? Is this a hardware issue (like the person in this thread claims: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1969583?tstart=0) Or is this software related? Some websites say that this problem appears since version 4.1 and according to a websites voting 59% of 11500 votes say that they have that problem.

Why can i not make a compilation (Also adding artwork sometimes doesn't work)

Has anyone experienced this issue? I am on itunes 12.1.1.4 windows (64bt).
When making compilations (grouping songs together as one album) i found some would work and at others times others wouldn't, i found this with the artwork too.
It seemed random at first and i couldn't find a solution. BUT!! I am here to report after many hours, i found the fix.
The trouble lies with the length of the album name, not sure if it also lies with song names too and artist names ect.
But for me, i was in albums section and fed up with seeing 40 or so songs which belonged to the same Album all on there own when they should be together. Also having no artwork. For though's that dont know how to solve this!
Select the songs you would like to bring together as one (compilation)
Select the first, hold shift and select the last.
Right click and select get info.
In the first column under details scroll to the bottom and tick the box that says
ALBUM IS A COMPILATION OF SONGS BY VARIOUS ARTIST.
In my experience this would not work all the time. so this brings me back to my original point. Reduce the size of the name of the album, this has to be done on all the songs which you can do manually, where they are originally stored in windows file. There is many tutorials online for this so i wont go into detail.
(you will have to delete songs/albums from itunes and then after fix re-link in to itunes)
Also my advice which is what i did because i didn't want to do them one by one, is to find a program that does it automatically. there's many out there that are free to try or just free. But anyway i hope this helps others.. As soon as i reduced the ALBUM name size.. compilation worked as normal, and so did Album artwork..
TIP: Find album art work you want, download and save to desktop or a folder you can find easily, right click album in itunes, select get info, artwork column and add artwork...(this of course is if itunes doesnt do the job for you) ENJOY..PEACE

I suspect that your suggestion to "reduce the size of the name of the album" is actually ensuring that the album name is identical for every track. iTunes is somewhat sensitive to non-obvious variations in some of its metadata values (suggestions include trailing spaces, inclusion of non-printing characters, etc.) - this seems to be more pronounced in iTunes 12 than in earlier releases. Another way to do the same thing is a add a dummy character such as "x" at the start of the common album name; if this then groups the tracks correctly, then edit it again to remove the dummy character and restore the correct name. I have album names in my library that are over 100 characters long without issues. I can't find a reference to an actual maximum length - I'm sure that there is one, though its possible that this is more a limitation of the embedded properties of media files in Windows rather than an inherent limitation of iTunes. Your suggestion to "Reduce the size of the name of the album, this has to be done on all the songs which you can do manually, where they are originally stored in windows file." is OK as long as you do so before adding the songs to your iTunes library. If you do so afterwards you may end up with apparent inconsistencies - iTunes will only update what you see when you play any songs that had their metadata edited directly in the media files.
You can achieve the same result by editing fields within iTunes - just select all the tracks that should be part of the album you're interested in (use Shift-Click to select contiguous tracks, Ctrl-Click for those that are not), then right-click > Get Info. Sometimes you'll see an obvious mis-match of values if iTunes displays "Mixed" in grey text in the Album field - in this case you can just type in the correct value and it will update all the tracks. Otherwise use the "prepend a dummy character" method as above to enforce identical values.
In general, compilation albums (i.e., those containing tracks by several different artists) will be grouped correctly in iTunes if:
the Album value is identical, and the "Part of a Compilation" flag is set for all tracks, or
the Album value and the Album Artist value are identical for all tracks
The "Part of a Compilation" flag is really only necessary for older models of iPod that don't recognize the Album Artist tag - the second option above gives some additional flexibility, in that you can decide how you want to label the "collection of artists" responsible for the album (if you leave Album Artist blank and set the "Part of a Compilation" flag then iTunes will automatically list it as being by "Various Artists") and you can also set the Sort Album Artist value. As an example of the latter, I prefer to sort the classical albums in my library by composer rather than artist; I have a number of albums that contain several works by the same composer but performed by different orchestras/conductors/soloists. Using the second approach listed above, I can:
set the Artist value on individual tracks to the correct value - this will not be a common value for all the tracks making up the album
set the Album Artist to "Various Artists"
set the Sort Album Artist to the name of the composer - so, for an album collecting several works by Beethoven, this would be set to "Beethoven, Ludvig van" and would be listed along with other recordings of Beethoven's works.
Two other consequences of the alternative approaches to tagging compilations:
using the "Part of a Compilation" flag:
all compilations will appear at the end of an artist-sorted list of albums
if you have configured iTunes to manage your media folders, the songs from each compilation will be stored in iTunes Media\Music\Compilations\album_title
using the Album Artist method:
compilations will be sorted based on the Album Artist (or, if set, Sort Album Artist) value - so if you set the Album Artist to "Various Artists" and leave the Sort Album Artist blank, these will be sorted with the V's - in my case, such compilations sit between Van der Graaf Generator and Suzanne Vega (sorted, of course, as "Vega, Suzanne")
if you have configured iTunes to manage your media folders, the songs from each compilation will be stored in iTunes Media\Music\album_artist\album_title

Auto-scrolling of list view in Finder windows sometimes doesn't work

I've noticed a minor bug in 10.4 that doesn't seem to show up in 10.3.9, and I thought I'd comment on it here because it's mildly annoying, and I'm not sure that anyone at Apple is aware of the issue.
My Pictures folder is pretty large -- I have over 6,000 items in it, some of which are themselves folders. I've got this folder set to list view. My typical usage pattern is to open a Finder window for my Pictures folder, start typing the first few characters of a file name, and then search from there. In 10.4.3 and later (up to and including 10.4.6 as of this writing), if the file in question is outside the viewport of the Finder window, the thumb on the scrollbar will jump to the correct location, but the actual viewport won't scroll to match; therefore, the file that gets highlighted isn't visible.
The work-around is to manually scroll the contents of the window so that I'm "closer" to the file I'm looking for; alternately, I can type characters to get the ball rolling, and then hit the up or down arrow key a couple times (once won't do the trick) which will force the viewport to jump to the correct scroll location. Using this second method, I then have to move the selection back to the file, which is annoying since it's forcing me to use extra keystrokes.
Interestingly enough, if I am careful and click on the scrollbar thumb without moving it too much (after typing the first few characters of the filename I'm looking for), the viewport will usually "snap to" the appropriate position. This suggests that the logic to auto-scroll the contents of a Finder window got subtly broken between Panther and Tiger. It just seems weird to me that the scrollbar thumb would jump without the viewport following suit automatically.
This wasn't a problem in 10.3.9. I realize that we're being encouraged to use Spotlight and other search features, but since my pictures directory is already an alphabetic list view of files, why should I be forced to do a Spotlight search when I know what it is I'm after?

Adress syncronization from 8310 sometimes doesn´t work witt BES 4.1.6

We have BES 4.1.6 with Lotus Domino 7.04. Sometimes I have a problem with synchronization of adressbook with Lotus Notes. It is always different user and differnt interval between errors.
In 8310 failed entry wireless synchronization in option of adressbook. I have only grey field and can not activate synchronization. Of cours I checked service book and also resend it through blackberry server. It didn´t help.
I solved this problem only after I disabled and then enable in BES server configuration wireless synchronization for adressboook.
My question is: Does anybody know about this problem?
Can I see anywhere in log file of BES if synchronization for adressbook for all user is work?
Because I knew about this problem only after user found that some contact failed, only then I checked the configuration. It was off for about 3 monthes. If some users have more as 1000 entry it is difficalt to know if everything is working fine.

The first step is to enable logging of sieve filter functionality i.e. add "LOG_FILTER=1" to option.dat, recompile the MTA config (./imsimta cnbuild), restart the MTA (./imsimta restart) and retest. You should then see additional filtering related information added to the mail.log entries.Got tired of waiting for the uncooperative spammers to send me a spam with spamscore between 5 and 10, so lowered the required spamscore before sending to spamfolder to 1, and sent myself a test-mail from another account. :o)
(I did this many times before one mail that should have gone to the spamfolder didn't.)

Sieve fileinto sometimes doesn't work

I have set up spam and virus filtering in messaging server, with highscoring spam (>=10) being deleted and lowscoring (>=5) going to a "Spam"-folder.
This works most of the time, but sometimes I get a bunch of spam with spamscore between 5 and 10 in my inbox. Clearly these should have gone to my spamfolder, but they don't...

USE_CHECK=0As you can see from the spam.test-file, I have commented out addheader "spam-low" "true";. With this uncommented, all mail with spamscore >= 5 get that header (apart from the ones that are discarded).. Even the spam that ends up in my inbox with spamscore >= 5 get this header. So, apparently it correctly identified it as spam-low, but fileinto "Spam"; did nothing....
How can this be? It would make more sense if no spam entered the spam-folder, but that's not the case... Some spam enters the spamfolder, and some my inbox....
What am I doing wrong?
