Retain Theme Properties

Hi All,
We are on SAP NW 7.3, to change the Theme have downloaded NWDS 7.3 SP07 PAT0000 and then followed the steps to download the 'EclipseThemeEditorVersion2_ReleaseIndependentPlugin.zip' and got the SAP Theme editor and used the file 'EclipseThemeEditorVersion2_Project_File' to get the standard themes.
After the above steps created a new theme 'MyThtme' (Copy of SAP Chrome) and when we tried to change any of the components properties (like background color of Applicatio, iView Trays...) it shows in the preview the new selected color, but when we save/generate the theme the colors are lost and it retains the original color.
Are we missing something here? Please help...

iCloud emails in the Trash are deleted after 30 days on the website, and this over-rides the 'never' setting in Mail. There is no way of stopping this. (The Trash isn't really intended as a permanent storage area.)
Try this workaround. Go to http://www.icloud.com and go to the Mail page. In the sidebar, click on '+' to the right of 'Folders' to create a new folder; give it a suitable name.
Now click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left. At the bottom of the pane which opens, set the 'Move deleted messages to' drop-down menu to your new folder.
I'm not sure whether, when you delete messages in the Mail application, they will go to the Trash or your new folder - you'll need to experiment. I have a nasty feeling that Mail will simply move them to the Trash as before. If this is the case you will have to move them to your new folder manually - dragging messages directly to this folder rather than hitting the delete key will be the easiest way.

Why does Flash Player Update ask for update preferences if it has no intention of retaining them?

I find it completely maddening that Flash Player Update asks me for my update preferences every time I update it. Retain my preferences if you're going to ask for them. Furthermore, I'm never going to install Mcafee, please provide me a way to disagree with their terms of service so you don't have to ask anymore.

I also find this issue deeply frustrating. Every time Flash Player installs it asks again, and every time it's reset the option back to "Allow Adobe to install updates". Unless I'm mistaken, the only people who see this window are those who selected the "Notify me" option previously, so there's absolutely no reason why it should be reset every time.
Except that I assume the reason is because Adobe wants to trick those people who simply click-through into choosing the "Allow" option. I can understand the security motivation for persuading people to have updates installed automatically, but for anyone making an active choice to have notifications, it's actually very annoying, especially when it must have been a conscious policy decision by Adobe.

How do I set up additional folders in Mail to enable me to move read e-mails yet still retain them

How do I set up additional folders in Mail (in the left hand panel under inbox/trash/drafts etc ) to enable me to move messages
that I have read. I do not wish to leave them clogging up the page but like to have folders for Apple/Amazon etc.
Any advice wouldbe gratefully received.
I can find the symbol to move the message but cannot figure out how to make the new folder

You can't create mail folders on the iPad. If you are using an IMAP/Exchange account you can set up folder on another device and they will be reflected on the iPad. If you have an POP3 account there is no way.

How to change style properties of text links

Hello to everyone.
There is a very irritating thing going on with the style properties of a text link.
I want my text that acts as a link to other pages, to retain the properties of a normal text. iWeb keeps underlining the text and changing the colour of it.
Is it possible to alter that without fiddling with the css file? I can change that if have to but that means that I'll have to manually edit the file in more than 50 pages...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is no way to do this in iWeb directly. As you have already alluded to, the only way to do this would be to edit the CSS files for your pages. You could do this by hand, but judging by your message it doesn't sound like you would have too much fun doing this.
I would suggest that you look into a program like MassReplaceIt...

This is basically a glorified find and replace type of tool. You can tell it to find a whole block of parameters in the CSS file and change it to whatever you like. And the benefit for you is that you can save these actions so that you can redo them whenever you publish the pages. MRI is smart enough to change only what needs changing. And searching out all the CSS files in all subdirectories is a bonus for you, Dmitris. Just point it at your site folder and let the program change all 50 CSS files in one click!

Properties lost when widget is updated

I have created a simple widget using the Widget Factory. I've entered some Properties in Captivate and it works fine. However, after updating the widget in Flash and then clicking Update widget in Captivate, my Properties are gone (although the change was purely cosmetic and all objects stayed the same).
Can a widget be written in a way that it would preserve its Properties between updates?
One way that comes to mind is that it could use User Variables to store its Properties and then intelligently read them as default values after update (similar to http://www.infosemantics.com.au/widgetking/2010/11/widget-properties-how-theyre-used/). But it would burden the course designer to create a variable for each widget instance times the number of its properties and naming them somehow specifically. (unless widget can create User Variables itself, but can it?)

This is the default behaviour that Adobe has designed for updating widget versions. It wipes out properties settings in the Widget Properties dialog. And at this time Captivate does not allow widgets to create user variables in the main project.
However, there's actually an easy way to get around this. Just add the same (old version) widget to another slide in your project and hide that slide. Make sure you insert the widget from the same folder location as other widgets in the project of the same name. When you want to update to a newer version of the widget, copy the new version widget to the original folder location so that it overwrites the old version of the widget, then go to the hidden slide in your project and right-click Update the widget.
This will update all widgets of the same name that were inserted from the same original folder (Captivate remembers the source location) but only the widget on your hidden slide would lose it's properties settings. All of the others in the project will retain them.

Properties Data Missing After Uploading on .ftp

Hi All,
We are having problems retaining the properties information in the .pdf files we upload to our ftp area.
Here's what's happening.
I have added metadata into the Properties area (I have tried this two ways; in Acrobat itself under File/Properties/Description - AND when right clicking on the file on the desktop, and adding to the Properties provided in the dropdown box). After saving the .pdf files, I uploaded them onto our .ftp - the metadata disappears. And I know this happens at the uploading process - to test this I uploaded a file with Properties data included in the file. Then I downloaded the EXACT SAME file that was just uploaded. Sure enough, all the Properties data I typed into the file is missing.
I don't know if this issue is with the .pdf files, our .ftp
Is anyone else having similar issues?
I have our IT guys working on the problem. Thot I'd help them out and see if anyone else out there had ideas.

How can I limit the number of emails retained on my ipad air?

How can I limit the number of emails that are retained on my iPad Air? Because of legal requirements of a long-term project, I cannot permanently delete emails relating to that project from my ISP's mail server. My gmail account contains over 17,000 emails and, upon setting up my new iPad, and updating to ios 7.1.1, I now have all 17,000+ emails taking up space. I would like to limit the emails by count as I was able to do on my old iPad running ios 5.1.1 OR to retain them based on date range. I have not found any instructions on the support discussions or general iPad blogs that allow me to do that. Any way around this problem?
I also miss the 5.1.1 mail search feature that allowed me to narrow the search by from/to/subject/all. Does anyone know if that feature is available using some little-known ios 7.1.1 feature?

BUG? JDev11.1.2 - Can't create theme from Fusion Blue Theme

Since JDev11 came out I have always been able to take the fusionblue.jar, "copy it", and create a custom theme from it.
After modifying the properties file, 11.1.2 won't let me .jar it because 16 .png files are missing... :( Is this a bug?
(Specifically, I am unjarring the fusionblue.jar. In the theme.properties file I am adding 1 line to the : colors.windowBackground=#B8B8B8; and changing the name property=EasyEyes. That's it, no other changes. e.g. Keeping imagebase=/oracle/javatools/themes/fusionblue)
Error Details: "Error: Unable to copy to output directory, U:\myTheme\src\oracle\javatools\themes\fusionblue\editortab_inactive_bg.png not found"
other missing pngs: scrollgrip_mousedown.png, scrollgrip_mouseover.png, doc_active_mouseover.png, dock_mouseup.png, minimizedpanel_mouseover.png, minimizedpanel_mousedown.png, editortab_active_bg.png, editortab_highlighted_bg.png, dock_inactive.png, minimizedpanel_element.png, scrollgrip_normal.png, accord_scnd_panelheader_inactv.png, accordian_prim_panelheader_actv.png
Confirmation: Looking in the imagebase (under the fusionblue folder that was jarred) the images are in fact not there... :(

Looking at the creating_themes.html (in JDev 11.1.2.1 release), the documentation has not been Updated since 4/18/2007. It also still has references to Oracle JDeveloper 11g Technology Preview (11.1.1)...
So it looks like Oracle exposed this feature in the TP and then completely forgot about it. I suspect the fusionblue.jar has not been updated since 2007 either and that is why it is missing all of these (new) Painter Types, etc.
I am currently looking into finding the main .jar that JDev uses and will retrieve the fusionblue ("starter") settings from there, as the internal Themes have been updated and do not throw these errors.

Problems with XY Graph "forgetting" plot properties

I am having trouble with an XT Graph in my loop.
The graph has 10 plots which at any time can have anything from 0 to ~1000 points, often some plots will have significantly less ploints than others. There is a user selectable option to display all points or just the most recent set.
My problem is that I want the graph to reflect the input data by plotting a single point at the time of an update, so I have a string of points rather than a line.
When I right click the graph and go into properties, I change the point style to solid circle and turn off line interpolation. I then click save these values as default, and save the vi.
However, once I run the vi, the graph always reverts plots 1 to 9 (not plot 0, this stays as I want it) to have no points displayed and line interpolation on.
Has anyone had this problem before? Ho did you fix it?
I know it can be fixed, as I had this probelm a few months ago on a similar vi and after weeks of struggle I solved it, however I just cannot remember how I did it.
Thank you for any help, at the moment I can't post any code. Note that the data the graph shows is all perfectly fine, just the plot properties are being forgotten.

In relation to the problem expressed in your initial post:

This is due to a bug in the LabVIEW software whereby any changes that are made to the plot properties (e.g. to change the colour of a plot) will not be retained, except in plot 0 which is unaffected. Our R&D department are currently investigating this problem so that it can be fixed in future version of the software. The recommended workaround for this problem is to pragmatically set the plot settings at the beginning of the code using property nodes.
As I understand it, this is not the main problem that you are experiencing. If you set up the properties for a plot (using some of the described property nodes) which is subsequently removed or rewritten on an XY Graph, my understanding is that there is no way that LabVIEW can remember and retain these properties.
As you rightly suggested, one way of conveniently overcoming this problem would be to set default plot properties so that when you remove/rewrite a plot and then add it again, it will always default to those properties. Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to do this though it has been recommended as a product suggestion so it is a feature that is under consideration for implementation in future releases of LabVIEW.
I think the issue you need to be addressing is the fact that you are at some point resetting the graph by sending an empty array to it such that all of your properties are lost. If you can find and remove this section in your code, you should be able to overcome your problem.

XML + XSLT - Retaining LF's in output

I am using FOP to process an XML file to a PDF using a XSLT. The
description column can have LF characters in it, which currently are
getting filtered out. I have converted teh LF's to the escape codes,
but this has had no effect (I do something similar with the greater
than symbol and that works). How do I go about retaining them. This
has been driving me around the bend for ages. Some guidence in this
would be most appreciated.

Thanks for your response it was very useful.
The attribute linefeed-treatment on its own didn't solve the problem, and another link I found suggested that may be a bug. However making use of the attribute white-space-collapse did seem to do what I wanted!
So it loks like the solution is to use one bug to fix another :) I'm sure that can't be good and is asking for problems later on. But for now it will do.

ALLOWED Cookies Exception List does not retain entries from session to session.

YES, I've searched the KB for an answer...no joy. I want to manage my cookies by adding the few sites that I want to allow cookies for, with all other sites being denied, and me being prompted every time a site wants to dnld a cookie. I believe I understand all the available settings, but I can't bet FF to retain the list of allowed sites from session to session, and sometimes FF won't retain them even immediately after I save them. I never had a problem with FF3, but now I'm having this problem with FF4.

Issue unsolved. Hoping to receive deeper analysis.
Thank you cor-el, that's a good suggestion, but, something I already knew. I didn't execute Clear Recent History...Clear Recent History is NOT the cause of the problem.
Additional Information: In Options\Privacy\History my settings are: "Use custom settings for history", Permanent Private Browsing mode = ON, Accept cookies from sites = OFF. Should I expect to be able to click on the Exceptions button, and enter urls into the exceptions pop up window as ALLOW, and expect them to be there in subsequent FF sessions? I've noticed that the Exceptions pop up window does not have an "OK" button as I would expect from observed FF convention...should there be one? After entering a url, my only choice is a "Close" button or the Red "X".
Follow on question: Is it possible that a data error occurred during install, preventing an applet from loading correctly, which would prevent the retention of list entries into the permissions.sqlite file? My permissions.sqlite file is located where the KB says it should be, shows a size of 2K, and a Date Modified of today. Note: I have continued to try to enter and save urls into the Exceptions List with an ALLOW value with no success.
Or, perhaps I should migrate back to FF 3.xx?

HT1677 Safari when set to private browsing and cookies from sites I vist has a problem. I want it to keep cookies from sites I use such as my email and comic sites. Right now it does not retain cookies that set up my choices of comics as site internal fav

When set to private browsing and only accept cookies from sites I visit does not retain them after I shutdown Safari and then later restart it. I also found out that even if I leave it in background and close the cover of my case it will not retain the cookies even though I did not deactivate it.
Things like email Ids and cookies that contain site specific favorites get deleted.
Here is a site where you can set a series of favorites which get stored as cookies.

Need to retain the values of LOV in Apex

Hi,
I had created three lovs namely A,B, and C in which A is the parent of B and C is an independent LOV. For parent child realtionship between the LOVS A and B, I had used the Ajax on demand process.
Now in my project all the three LOVs are mandatory, so what i want if suppose any user clicks on submit button without selecting any value from LOV C, then it must load to the same page and show an error. My problem is that after the page load, LOVs A and B are not retaining their earlier values and set to default values In my application I want to retain them.
I hope my problem is clear.

OK, now it is a different story.
First, you don't need to remove the page# from the action section as long as it is NOT in the clear cache attribute.
Second, You said that you are using AJAX to load the value of B , and I beleive that currently you have a JS that fires OnChange on item A. You need to call the same JS code when loading the page as follows:
In you page attributes :
Page HTML Body Attribute>> onLoad="your_function();"
where your_function is the same function you call when you change A's value to get B's value..

Using Portal Theme for a Web Dynpro ABAP Application

Hello everyone,
I've created a web-dynpro abap application that I display on one of my portal pages using a Web-dynpro iView.
Somehow, the WDA app never reads the portal theme properties and has the default SAP roadshow theme colors. I've tried almost everything including passing the theme as an application parameter using WDTHEMEROOT and WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET params.
Documentation states that the application should automatically read the portal's theme, but it never does.
Interestingly, I have one more web-dynpro java application that works fine and uses the portal theme correctly.
Am I missing anything? Are there special considerations for WDA apps to adapt to the current portal theme?
Any ideas, suggestions, solutions would be greatly appreciated.

What are the release and support package levels of both your ABAP system and your portal? If the ABAP AS has a later release or SP level than the portal, the Web Dynpro framework will always fall back to using the theme of the backend ABAP system. This is to protect the application rendering. Running with a theme (CSS and JavaScript) from an older release or support package level could cause the application to render incorrectly.
