Retention period of a document in this folder (Days)? - Should be BLANK

In our R/3 4.7:
In SAP office (Business Workplace):
in Attribute of certain folder:
The Filed "Retention period of a document in this folder (days)" is being filled with some number.
The field should be blank but somehow it is being filled with some number. - Why is this happening? Any help is appreciated.

a default number for the retention can be set up.
Please check Tr. SO16 >> Tab: document org.
Here you will find the option where to set up the default value for retention.

Supplementing Senthil's inputs, you may also explore setting the deletion indicator on for the DIR's you no longer wish to retain prior to running the z-program.This can be achieved by adding the function module DMS_PROC_DOC_DELETE in the "Start processing" node.(SPRO > CA Components > DMS > General Data > 'Start Processing for Documents').
On enabling this FM, in CV04n results screen, use the button 'Process' to set the Mass Deletion indicator on for relevant DIR's. You may then run the deletion program in the background for the above selected DIR's.

Unable to index documents in the folder

Hi,
Index server is unable to index the documents inside the folder.
I had created a WebDav folder(MyDocuement) and mapped it to my personal drive. When I created datasource has this folder. I am able to index the folder but not the content inside the folder.
When I checked the
System Administration > System configuration - KM configuration> Index Administration
Index Administration is in green color.
When I check Index Monitor. It indexed the folder and got error to index the documents in the folder.
what should be the rights to index the documents I had given everyong rights to the folder in the KM contents for this folder.
When I check the Display queue. It has given the Unknown hostname.
please Let me know what should I do to index the documents inside the folder.

Hi Venkata,
As Robert has mentioned, check the parameters "Host" and "Alternative Host" in the URL Generator Service parameters. They should point to the exact portal address...
Also check last part of the document where it specifies about ..
<b><i>" This can slightly improve performance and you avoid problems with some WebDAV clients due to URLs that are too long. "</i></b>
Replace the prefix accordingly and check...

Archiving and different Retention period by specific interface

We want to specify different Retention period for different interfaces (audit reasons)... and based on search in SDN, it does not seem like this is supported by SAP...
Do any of you know if SAP intends to support this in future? Any ideas for overcoming this gap? or is this limitation deliberate (and has been kept in place for a reason)?

Actually I don't think we have this option of setting the retention period for specific interfaces,
but for the global interfaces in the system.
If you want to increase the time for Audit Log messages you need to change parameter 'messaging.auditLog.memoryCache' to false in order to persist the audit logs in PI 7.1 system. Take a look at note #1314974 for more details.
And notice that after changing the parameter to false, audit logs are persisted till the corresponding messages are deleted. The default retention period of messages on AE is 30 days, keep in mind that it could have a little impact on the data volume.
To increase the retention time in AFW, go to:
Services -> XPI Adapter: XI:
"xiadapter.outbound.persistDuration.default"
"xiadapter.inbound.persistDuration.default"
For the Integration Engine, it's under SXMB_ADM -> Integration Engine Configuration and Configuration.

Automatic deletion of material reservation after a given retention period

Hi,
we have an issue with materil reservation done through CJ20N
u2022To set a Retention period for a reservation, that is 14 Days, during this specific period which a reservation item resides in the system before being deleted by the reservation management program.order category is 20.
we were able to set the deletion indicator in MM,plant wise
but when we run the report MBVR it is not getting listed,it doesnt show any of the reservation done through cj20N
can any one give the reason why it is not getting listed.

Homescreen > Messages > > Options > General Options
Scroll to the bottom of that list and you should have a setting for configuring how long messages remain on your BB.

Is "/Documents" a reserved folder?

Hi,
I'd like to keep things in order in my second hard disk, and put all document folders inside a folder called "Documenti" ("Documents" in Italian).
While this disk is not my main boot disk, sometimes I might use it to boot, either to check some different system configuration, of for emergency situations.
Do I risk to lose al the documents inside this folder? Is it a reserved folder, or can I use it with no risk at all?

Under earlier versions of the Mac OS, there was a Documents folder at the top of the hard drive, but OS X does not use this folder.
However, if you ever install Classic support on that second drive, you do run the risk of overwriting that folder. You may wish to modify the folder name slightly to avoid this.

Yes, you can move your user directories to the HD and keep your OSX and Applications on the SSD drive.
Whether you partition your HD or not depends on how much data you have and how you propose to use your HD.
Are you planning to use your iMac as a Time Machine backup volume? If so, partition it off.
Do you have huge data files, eg video, music, photos?
How much of your 2tb drive will be "free" once it is loaded with all your data?
A little more information is required before the optimal configuration can be recommended for your use.

Anyway, I manage to do it by integrating Weblogic with IIS and install the Siteminder Agent for IIS instead of Siteminder Agent for Weblogic.

In SPRO - IMG - MM - Purchasing - Define tolerance limit for archiving. In this maintain the residence time 1 & residence time 2 for the Purchasinh doc type & also with item category also.
Define Tolerance Limit for Archiving
In this step, you specify how long external purchasing documents are retained unchanged in the database before being archived.
You can define two time periods, via which you control the archiving of the documents:
Residence time 1 for items without a deletion indicator
Before the deletion indicator is set for a document item, the system checks when the relevant item was last changed. In the process, a change in the PO quantity is taken into account in just the same way as a goods receipt, for example.
The date of the last change is compared with the current date. If no change has been made within the residence time 1 entered , the deletion indicator is set for the item.
Residence time 2 for items with a deletion indicator
For document items for which the deletion indicator was set manually or during the archiving run, the system checks how many days have elapsed since the deletion indicator was set.
The whole document is only archived if:
The deletion indicator has been set for all items of the document
None of the items have been changed during the residence time 2 entered - i.e. the last change is the setting of the deletion
The archived documents are then deleted from the database.

SARA Archiving Idocs and the retention period , RSEXARCB

I am having few questions on the Idoc Archivng -
1. I want to know the safe retention period for Idocs , I am planning to do archivng of Idocs which are 60 days older or more. How to determine the exact period for Idocs that we can keep in the database tables and also in the file system. What will the exact time in tables and also in Filesystem before we copy to a tape.
2. About program RSEXARCB , I want to schedule automatic background job for only Idocs which are in status 3 and 53 using this program every week. In this program I dont see any variable or any selection field where I can select this options. Is there any other program in SAP where we can select this options?
FYI - We are on ECC 5.0

                                                                                Diagnosis
A retention period has been entered for a profile value category, that
    is shorter than that of the billing document headers.
This is an invalid entry, because you cannot archive profile values
    before billing document headers.
System Response
The system does not permit you to save the retention period combination.
Procedure
Correct the retention period for the profile value category or the
    corresponding billing document header category accordingly.
Please guide.

Default Folders Policy/Items retention period not respected ?

Hello,
We have Exchange Server 2007 SP3 and we've set up a default folders policy to erase all mailbox content older than 31 days.
However in three mailboxes we've sampled this policy isn't properly applied : the mailboxes had mails newer than 31 days deleted ( some 20 days, some 28 days, mine had only 14 days old mails !
Can you please explain to me why this is happening?

tried to go with only deleting items from the inbox but it didn't delete those in custom folders(each user creates his own)... the other method worked though
