Retina MBP early 2013, fans overspeed: Is there any Apple's official answer to fix the problem?

I have the same problem with the fans as many others. The fan overspeed up to 5900 rpm for no reason. My system's temps are all less than 45c. The normal
should be to gradually increase according the temperature. Did Apple answered officialy to that? I have my Mac for about 10 days and I am thinking to return it...

Return it. It's because of the flash storage and the problem should be able to be fixed with a software update, but Apple won't make it a priority to resolve unless it affects their income. So, return it and get a new one and then return that one if it has the problem and keep doing that until you get one that works.

I have Elements 12. It's an upgrade in most respects from the old CS2 I used for years. Except there is apparently no measuring tool. How can this be; is there a plug-in, or will Adobe fix the problem? Anyone know a way around this glaring omission?

Hello again. When I said PSE 12 was an upgrade on CS2, I meant that simply from an informal point of view - and it is: it's better software in most respects. In expert mode, the features and functions are much the same as in the CS2 I had before, but enhanced and slicker. Less 16 bit colour depth and a few other things of course. Unfortunately, as it now transpires, the "few other things" has turned out to include the measuring feature.
Thanks for the work-around - only problem is ... to what Info Panel are you referring when using the line tool? I've looked around but can't see the line length being shown anywhere. Thanks in advance for any light you might be able to cast on it.
Incidentally, I upgraded my written-off Canon D5 MK II with a D6. To me it's an upgrade - it's a much better camera - though by the letter of the law, the strict upgrade path would be to a 5D MK III. One can use the word "upgrade" in this informal (but entirely meaningful) sense, I hope, without being sent to prison!!

is there going to be an update to fix the problem of cropping photos to use as wallpapers?

There is no "voicemail bug".  Mine works just fine.
Try resetting your iPhone.  Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.  You will not lose any data.

  • Retina MBP Early 2013 - Crashes on Mavericks, chrome related?

I get complete freezes of the system every now and then (it's not common at all, maybe once every couple weeks), and I have to do a hard restart with the power button. However, the odd part is that I can't ever find anything in the logs to suggest that there was a crash. I use chrome, and it usually happens when I'm on chrome - could that be causing it?
I recently did drop my laptop, not hard, but very slightly, and the screen was a little dinged from that. Could this be causing freezes?

Absolutely. Get rid of Chrome and use Safari.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller
      10. Spring Cleaning

  • Will there be an update to v29 that fixes the problem of not closing? Reset, disabling add-ons, etc, did not fix it.

After upgrading to v 29 four days ago, Firefox will not close 9 out of 10 times...get the error message that says Firefox is still running, close it or restart. The only way I have been to fully close Firefox is to force it to close by running CCLeaner or computer restart. I have tried disabling add-ons, safe mode, etc. I do not want nor should I have to lose settings by a reset. Given the other posts re: this same problem, this appears to be a Firefox v29 problem and not a user/customer problem. This is on a Win 7 machine running AVG Free.

    I have the same problems.
    Tried version 30beta without success
Have to unload the Firefox process with Taskmanager
I like the new version 29 but have gone back to trouble free version 28.
Unless the problem can be fixed I will regretfully go to Chrome.
My system is Win 7 (64Bit) with SP1 and all updates.
Extensions are ADBlock, Better Privacy, Disconnect, Self-Dectructing Cookies, Foxflag, Colorful Tabs, HTTPS-Everywhere

The main error in this position is thinking ANY sized SSD can be "storage"
Any Macbook SSD should be idealized as a working platform computer system, containing all your applications, documents, and weekly-use necessary files; and all media files such as ‘big-data’ (music/PDF collections/video/pictures), unless directly needed in the near future, should be kept off the computer and on external storage USB or likewise bare hard drives.
You cant do what you want without removing the internal SSD
Officially, it is not possible for an end user to upgrade the storage in any Retina Display MacBook Pro model after purchase

  • Macbook Pro Retina 13' Early 2013 and 45W Charger

    Hey all,
I need to buy a new charger for my MBP Retina 13' Early 2013 and I want to know if I can use a 45W Charger Magsafe 2.
    Thanks to all !

no you can not - it doesn't not have enough power to charge your battery.
stick with the 60 watt charger.
    from apple's website below:
For instance If you have a MacBook (13-inch Late 2009) that normally uses a 60W adapter, you can also use an 85W adapter with that computer. You would not use a 45W adapter with that computer; it would not provide enough power for that MacBook.
Using an adapter of higher wattage than the adapter that came with the computer will not cause the computer to charge more quickly or otherwise operate any differently than using the adapter that came with the computer. The tables further down in this article show the style of connector that initially shipped with each model of MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air.

  • Macbook Pro Retina 15' (early 2013) / Creaking noise and hinge loose

    Hi,
After a couple of months of using my Macbook Pro Retina 15' (early 2013) started to creak when closing and opening. At first it wasn't loud but now, when im not using it for couple of hours and then try to open it creaks really bad. Also i've noticed that on the left side of the hinge i've got more space then on the right side. Unfortunately my guarantee is over and i live in country where we dont have Apple Stores, ony premium resellers, and their services aren't good. In the links below you can find pictures of this loose hinge. My question here is: Does anybody know what i can do, or maybe know what needs to be done. Before taking it to my "professional" service i would like to know what's wrong with my macbook, so they won't rob me

  • MBP Early 2013 somewhat random but recurring kernel panic

Hi-I just bought an MBP early 2013 model.  I've had it just over a week and have had 8 kernel panics.  They appear to be happening when the computer is turning on - either cold (from being shutoff) or waking from sleep (however it doesn't do it everytime it wakes or boots).  I've got all the software updates installed (excepting Mavericks...I don't plan on upgrading to it for a while).  Here is the latest panic log.  It appears to be something with the video card, but I'm a relatively new mac user, so I could be completely off. The video card it came with is the Intel HD Graphics 4000. I plan on taking it back to where I bought it to get it looked at, but I'm curious if you guys have any thoughts on it.
    Thanks

It seems that your graphics card is causing the panics, or it MIGHT be your logic board (highly unlikely). What i suggest doing is running apple hardware test. to do this, shut down your computer and hold the D key on startup. If that doesn't work, try option(alt)+D, the rest of the process is simple

I'm not sure where on the internet or which store you mean -- but if you mean an Apple advertisement on the internet and an Apple Store, note that there was an ad for MacBooks that showed them with a variety of stickers but Apple does't sell the stickers and not all of the ones shown in the ad were commercially available.

Why would you need to do anything at all?  The machine is under warranty, if there's something broken, that's what the warranty is for.

Is there any way of undoing a shuffle? The CDs I downloaded to iTunes have all been shuffled into individual 'songs'. As most of these are classical and folk, it is inappropriate to have them separated into songs that play any old time (ie, a movement from Beethoven's 5th symphony followed by a folk song followed by one excerpt from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, etc. Can I restore them all to the original albums and make sure the shuffle doesn't happen again?
    Thanks!

Thanks! That has worked, but only partially - there are still some Beethovens mixed in with the Vivaldis. I'm sure I installed these as total albums.
I have noticed that too from time to time, I generally move the files into the correct folder and fix the index in itunes when one won't open, occasionally.
