Retreiving music from an iPod

I recently got rid of an old computer that I was using my iPod with, and I want to take all of my songs from iPod and put them on my new one, rather than ripping all of my CDs over again, and having to pay for all of my downloads again, but I know if I sync the iPod it will delete all of the music on it, so how do I take the music from my iPod, without syncing?

First, to prevent iTunes from auto-syncing the music off your iPod, as you said, follow these steps:
1 - Open iTunes.
2 - Get read to watch your iPod, and connect it.
3 - As soon as your iPod displays "Do Not Disconnect", immediately begin to press and hold the "Ctrl" + "Shift" keys for about 20-30 seconds. This should prevnet the auto-syncing from happening to your iPod.
Now onto the transferring of your iPod's songs to your computer. There are a few different methods.
Method 1 - Manually transfer your iPod songs to iTunes using MacMuse's post. See it here -> iPod songs to computer (MacMuse post)

Method 3 - Use a third-party program to get the transferring done. For a Windows computer, CopyPod should work good. Also, you can try out YamiPod.
