Can old text messages be retreived from your SD card?

Only if you specifically saved them to the card, and that option is not available for most phones.

Applescript retreive text from dropdown menu safari

I need to get the text of dropdown menu in Safari
Eventually loop to each option to get every item (text)
But for now i just try to get one... Applescript allways return message (missing value)

OK i'v found
i get the number of option by
                            do JavaScript "var v = document.getElementsByName('customer')[0].length;"
then i loop putting the v variable at the end of the selectIndex
                            do JavaScript "var x=document.getElementsByName('customer')[0].selectedIndex=" & v & ""
in addition with the option
                            do JavaScript "var y=document.getElementsByName('customer')[0].options;"
and concatenate all
          do JavaScript "var full=y[x].text;"
voila !!!

Problem while retreiving data from a text file

I tried to retreive text from a .txt file.
By using following code, i get junk box after every character retreived. What may be the reason.

The reason would be that that is what your text file looks like (namely UTF-16) while you use a FileReader without specifying any encoding, which means that it will choose your platform default - which is not UTF-16.

i have transferred texts from a phone (LG A380 i am no longer using) to my sim card. now i would like to transfer those same text messages from my sim card to my bold 9900. i have found out how to save texts from bold to sim but not vice-versa. thanks in advance, sreg.

If Desktop Software will back them up, then you can simply restore them back to the device. It's likely DS wont' see them, though.

Select text from all_views returns an empty string

My application allows the user to select between the Data Provider for ODBC and the Data Provider for Oracle. (ODP)
When using the ODBC provider the statement:
Select text from all_views where view_name='MYVIEW'
returns the expected string.
If I connect via ODP however it returns an empty string.
(If I use 'Select *' it tells me the text_length is 154 in this specific case - so there is definately text available.)
I'm thinking it has something to do with the fact that the data type is LONG.
In both cases I retreive the data using rdr.GetChars(), which should work.
If I use the dbms_metadata.get_ddl function instead, it does return the string (Probably because the return type is not LONG)
Unfortunately that function only works for Views in the current schema, while the original Select works for any view.
(And I dont know what version of Oracle this function was added in - I have to support older versions too.)
Similarly, if I use one of the XML functions to retreive the text as XML it works fine.
(Again it is probably returned as a VARCHAR2 instead of a LONG.)
The strange thing is that when I created my own table containing a LONG column I was able to load and retreive data without any problems.
The problem appears to be specific to this column in all_views.
Anyone know a solution to this?

Thanks that was it.
I had not seen those properties since I am working with the 'generic' objects (DbCommand rather than OracleCommand, etc.)
What is strange is that I was able to retreive data from my own LONG column WITHOUT setting this value to -1.
(It defaulted to 0 in both cases.)
The only difference was that when I retreived data from my own column I specified CommandBehaviour.SequentialAccess.
When I retreived the all_views.text column I did not specify a behaviour at all.
However the Oracle docs said that SequentialAccess is not supported ... so I guess that is not correct.
(Maybe it doesn't 'work', but it certainly seems to cause things to work differently)

How do I stop the texts from other iPhone users trying to reach the person who has my old phone number?

I no longer have cell phone service but I still use my iphone every day for apps and imessage. Now someone has my old phone number. It seems that this person does not have a iphone. Everytime one of their friends with an iphone tries to text them the message goes to my iphone. I have tried many things to stop this. I took my old phone number off my apple account and I took out my old sim card. But I still am getting texts from other iphones attempting to reach whom ever has my old phone number. HELP please. This person is very popular, at first it was funny now its annoying. I'm sure the person with my old number is even more upset than I since they are actully paying for service.

Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

How do I copy text from a Spotlight search result quicklook window?

Is it possible to copy text from the quicklook windows that appear when you hover over a Spotlight search result? It would be useful to be able to copy, say, a phone number or email address straight from the address book card that appears in Spotlight. The only options I see are to display the text in large type and to Facetime (for phone numbers) and to perform mapping functions for addresses; simple copying seems to be disabled for some reason.
I am using Spotlight in OS 10.7.5.

If the PDF page content is an image (for text that'd by the image that any scanner provides) then it is an image that exports to Word.
Regardless, Adobe Reader cannot export PDF page content, cannot create PDF and cannot manipulate PDF page content.
Adobe Reader is a PDF viewer only.
Perhaps you have a subscription to one of Adobe's online subscription services.
(ExportPDF, PDF Pack, etc.)
Each of the online subscription services have their own dedicated user-2-user forums.
Easy find as there here in Adobe's Forums. Hmmm, just dumping somewhere means ... Ah well, won't go there. Miss Manners would not approve eh.

LIghtrroom 1.1 problem 1 & 2 importing-copying from CF cards (raw)

Hi.
With Lightroom 1.0 I didn't had this problem, but since I updated to 1.1 and Im importing from CF cards (raw files) and this is very darn often, Lightroom comes up with problems either 1 or two and its not able to copy 1, 2, or 3 files. But if I try to import again those missing files it does import them! And this is very annoying because I have to go one by one to see which one (s) it missed!
And much worst sometimes it doesn't read a big chunk of files. It shows that it found lets say 100 raw files and shows them in the import text box, when the finder (Mac OSX 10.4.10), camera, and other software its showing me the real 130 files.
Also, sometimes I select some of the images I want to import in that dialog box, and it imports some random ones. This has happend a few times. And when I try it again and it selects the same random ones even if a choose a completely different set of images.
Whats going on? I didn't install any new software/hardware to my MacBookPro computer but the Lightroom Update!
Please help Lightroom is killing me!

I've seen Lightroom (1.0) fail to import all images from a card reader, that otherwise works fine (I've never had a single problem just copying the entire DCIM folder from the card to my hard drive using the Finder). This was mitigated somewhat by Lightroom's duplicate detection; I'd say "import my memory card" and it would get 90% of it but miss a couple (and no easy way to select the ones it missed). But then I just say "import the whole thing again" and it would do only the ones it had missed the first time. Repeat until it got no errors, which sometimes took 3 or 4 passes.
The whole thing was not very confidence-inspiring though, so now I always copy the files from the card to where I want them, then tell Lightroom to import them at their current location, and I haven't had any problems doing that.

I'm now with BT mobile. When travelling to Bulgaria I had nothing but problems with this service. And also Cyprus. Bulgaria I had to choose from networks trying to get it to work which was always automatically dine on 02.
If I get a text from my friend in Bulgaria I never get them so now I have an 02 pay ax you go to receive then. They are also more expensive than 02. I would also when travelling receive a text from my credit card service saying they now see me in this country and will let the card be used there. This did not happen in bg or Cyprus.
when I landed in London Gatwick I received at text say welcome to montenegro giving me all the costs of everything. .not happy at all
