Retrieve bookmarks from iCloud

I have accidently deleted all my bookmarks from Safari V 5.1.7 running on 10.7.4
I have icloud enabled to "backup" my bookmarks however I don't know how to get them back from "the cloud"
Any help for this dummy will be greatly apprecited.

Hi John....
Open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Bookmarks, then reselect it, then restart your Mac.

I have recently been having issues with my safari running slowly and not loading some pages correctly. I found a solution of deleting my safari folder ~Library/Safari... big mistake, I forgot my bookmarks pList was in here and I didn't make a backup... total tool I know.
However, I have previously been syncing my bookmarks with iCloud and I do have all my bookmarks there. I unticked sync bookmarks as soon as I realised my mistake. However, when I go to re-tick sync bookmarks it want's to overwrite my iCloud with the bookmarks saved on my mac (which are currently the default safari ones).
Both my iPad and iPhone, still display my bookmarks that are synced from iCloud.
So here's my question: Can I retrieve the bookmarks from iCloud to restore to my mac? If not, Can I retrieve them from either of my iOS devices? Or is it going to be a long and slow process of emailing all my bookmarks from the iOS devices?

How can I remove all my bookmarks from iCloud and start a fresh with only the ones on my iMac

I accidentally deleted bookmark gilders on my iPad 4 and iCloud removed them from my iMac, iPhone 5, iPhone 4, iPad 2 and MacBook Pro. I turned off Safari on all devices for syncing with iCloud and used Time Machine to restore my Bookmarks.plist on my iMac, but iCloud keeps removing it and replacing the plist with the latest version. I want to remove all the Safari a bookmarks from iCloud, but don't know how to do this, can anyone help.

Just a note about the difference between these two things:
* "export" and "import" use an ancient HTML document format that all browsers can understand. When you import bookmarks, Firefox may place them into an Imported Bookmarks folder, or into Unsorted Bookmarks. This does not displace existing bookmarks, and Firefox does not automatically remove duplicates.
* "backup" and "restore" use a more comprehensive JSON data file, which contains extra information about your bookmarks (such as tags) not contained in the traditional export file. HOWEVER, a restore completely replaces all existing bookmarks, so the restore feature cannot be used to merge in a set of additional bookmarks.

Some users find the disk-based Windows Favorites folder a convenient way to organize bookmarks. If you do, too, and you do not need to preserve tags on your bookmarks, you could export each profile's bookmarks to HTML and import them all into IE11. Organize them in the Windows Favorites folder, then export from IE11 to HTML and import that file into each Firefox profile. If your contacts are on icloud.com, download them as a vCard as explained here: iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard. Then import them to your phone as explained in your manual. If you aren't able to, you can create a Gmail account and import the vCard to Gmail as explained here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/183711?hl=en, then add the Gmail account to your phone and sync your contacts from Gmail.
If they aren't on icloud.com, I'm not sure how you would access them from a backup on a Samsung, even if there was a backup.

14. Select Backup file
15. You'll see progress bar
16. Red slider will appear; slide to unlock; step #1 to #16 is fast
17. Pre-installed apps will be restored first
18. Message: Purchased apps and media will now be automatically downloaded
19. You'll see a pageful of apps with Waiting/Loading/Installing
20. Message: Some apps cannot be downloaded, please sync with computer
Note: This restore from iCloud backup was performed with IOS 5.1.1

Your back up via iCloud is only for use for restoring your phone after wiping it. You can't inspect or utilise specific parts of the back up.

iwork on iOS uses different file extensions and formats (*.tef ) then iwork for Mac (*.number,*.key*.page) . It needs to be converted all the times so that the different apps can deal with the content of the documents.
