Retrieve my photos from iPad

I recently lost my photos, and reloaded a backup through iTunes to iPhone, but the quality is terrible in the albums and events, only camera roll is fine.
I still have good photos on my iPad but I dare not plug it in to iTunes in case the photos get wiped.
How can I rebuild the mac iPhoto library FROM my iPad?

Thanks for your quick and accurate response. It's good that you just tell me cold what I have been dreading the truth of.
Not impressed much with Apple about this.  The word "Sync" to most people means something different to what Apple wants it to mean.  Also the iTunes "backup" (with regard to photos) is another misnomer.
Apple should stop hiding behind euphemism and strange semantics, and talking such BS about "just works" or "user experience", IF, they don't want to end up like Microsoft. (i.e. far too proprietary)

  • Retrieving ghost Photos from iPad

I bought a new MacBook Pro and iPad3.
I started to transfer my iPad1 photos (2500 photos) to the new Mac's iPhoto.  When 900 pics were left to be synced, the iPad1's screen turned black with a message "rebuilding photo library".  When I reopened the iPad 1 photo folder only 130 photos were available.
When connecting the iPad1 to the new Mac's iTunes, the iPad1 data storage still shows that 29Gig of photos are on the iPad but still only 130 photos are shown in iPhoto and on the iPad1.
NB.  The 2500 are new pics and HAVE NOT BEEN BACKED-UP to ANY other iTunes/iCloud account.
How can I recover these photo's seeing that the data is still on the iPad?

    Hi,
Due to the overall of the iPad processor because to the photo transfer, the iPad most likely crashed during the process. Unfortunately, this data is unretreivable unless it shows up in your photo or iTunes library.

If my ipad is stolen. Where do i retrieve my photos from icloud

You can retrieve photos from phot stream from an iPhone or from your computer, if you were using Photo Stream. If you were not using Photo Stream, the only other way to retrieve your photos is by restoring from a backup of the iPad, and that is assuming that you were backing up the iPad with iCloud and that you have another iOS device that you could restore the iPad backup from.
The Photo Stream solution is the most practical. If you weren't using photo stream, the photos are gone.

If you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup you can restore to that.

  • I can't retrieve my photos from my ipad to my PC.

PC and other programs I have used says ipad has 67 photos when I have hundreds. How do I get these photos from ipad to my PC?
Also, my macbook pro crashed a couple years ago that had my original itunes account setup. I've been afraid to sync my ipad with a new account because i don't want to lose all my photos.

Read this for the syncing issue. Follow the instructions and you should be fine. It will take some time and some work, but it's not that difficult to do.
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive
You can only import photos from the camera roll album to a computer.
iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
if you are trying to move synced photos back to the computer, you may need a third party app. This one works over WiFi and works pretty well.

  • How do i transfer photos from ipad to MacBook Pro about 100

After update to yosemite i have about 150 photos that are on my ipad and not on MacBook Pro.  Is there a way to sync the photos from ipad to computer

I did sync thro iTunes so will have to import them where i can find them...yuck
The synced photos should be in an album in the "Albums" tab of your iPod.
As long as you did not transfer  the synced photos to your computer do on no account activate "iCloud Photo Library Beta" on your iPad. That will wipe all synced photos from the iPad.
You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:
Email them from the device to yourself.
Copy them from the emails to your computer.

  • How can I recover photos from iPad to my Mac?

Hi! Have myself in a bit of a situation and I'm hoping there's an easy answer that I haven't found yet.
Last night, my external drive that I kept my media on died. No problem, right? I use Time Machine like a good boy...
...and then I see that TM excludes external drives automatically from backup. Oh heck. I can't believe I missed that. No backups of my years of media files.
So, that's not a problem with my music, redownloading everything using iTunes Match. All my photos are synced over to my iPad, and I figure, I'll resync them with iPhoto.
Not working. It'll show the last batch of photos I hadn't synced yet from my iPad, but that's it. It's like it thinks the old photos are still in the library, even though I just created the library file from scratch. (The original library file was lost.)
Is there a way I can get back my photos/albums/events back from my iPad and into iPhoto? I've backed up my photos from iCloud - is the solution there? or am I hopelessly screwed?
    Thanks!

That will be difficult. Your iCloud backup of the iPad will only include the photos in the Camera roll of your iPad, and you can only use it to restore the Camera Roll.
See: iCloud: Backup and restore overview
The albums, that you synced from your Mac to your iPad cannot be synced back - that is one-way, see:    iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:
Since you can only import back from the Camera Roll, you need to share  the synced photos to the camera roll or email them. Or shre them to a shared photo stream to yourself, if your system supports shared photo streams.
You can connect your iPad to your mac using USB and download everything that is in the camera roll to iPhoto or Image Capture.
What is your MacOS X version on your mac? And the IOS version on your iPad?  Can you use shared Photo Streams?

how can i retrieve my photos from i cloud ?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Photo stream is not available at iCloud.com. In order to see the photos taken on your new iPad, you need to use another iOS device, mac or PC which is logged into your iCloud account.

  • I can't retrieve my photos from an ipod back up on to my new ipod

i can't retrieve my photos from an ipod back up on to my new ipod

Have the photos been taken with the iPad or have the photos been synced to the iPad Air? Photos synced with iTunes to iOS devices cannot be synced back. See this link:  iOS: Syncing photos using iTunes
If the photos have been synced to the iPad Air, you need an external app as JimHDK recommended. Or mail the photos, which will be tedious. To delete them from the iPad after transferring them, sync again with iTunes, but select no folders to sync.
If the photos have been taken with the iPad Camera, you can connect the iPad Air to your Mac using a USB cable and then to launch Image Capture or iPhoto to transfer the photos. But that will not transfer synced photos.

  • I just purchased a new iphone5.  How do I retrieve my photos from icloud?

Please help me retrieve my photos from icloud

    Hello
The steps to import your Photo Stream are in the article below. If you have a Mac, then you will use the latest version of iPhoto. If you are using Windows, then you will need the iCloud Control Panel.
    iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455
How do I view My Photo Stream?
iPhone, iPad or iPod touch: Your photos will appear in the My Photo Stream album in the Photos app. If you're using iOS, you can find your photos by tapping the Photo Stream tab, then tapping the My Photo Stream album. In iOS 5, your photos are in the Photo Stream album.
Mac: Your photos appear in the Shared albums section under iCloud in iPhoto 9.5 or Aperture 3.5. In earlier support versions of iPhoto and Aperture, your photos appear in the Photo Stream section. In iPhoto 9.4 or later or in Aperture 3.4 or later, open the My Photo Stream album.
PC using Windows 8.1: From the Start screen, click the down arrow Down arrow in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud Photos app.
PC using Windows 8: From the Start screen, select iCloud Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.12).
PC using Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button, then click Pictures. Click iCloud Photos or Photo Stream under the Favorites menu in the panel on the left. Double-click My Photo Stream to view your photos.
Apple TV: After signing in with your iCloud account, you can view your photos by choosing iCloud Photos or Photo Stream from the main menu (or selecting Internet > Photo Stream in Apple TV Software Update 5.0).

  • How can I transfer photos from ipad 1 to pc

    I have an ipad 1 - ios 5.1.1
I want to transfer the photos on the ipad to a windows 8 pc.
Should be a really simple operation - yes? wrong.
After visiting 30+ webpages, downloading various 3rd party software (and deleting them again) - I am still unable to transfer photos from my ipad to a windows pc.
I connect the ipad 1 to a pc using cable.
    PC shows ipad.
Then you get the option to import photos (Which 20+ websites just repeat).
Contained in the DCIM Folder is 2 thumbnail photos. Yes - just 2. Two.
Stored on the ipad is nearly 3,000 photo's. NOT 2!
So how do you move photos from an ipad to PC?
    Next problem.
Someone recommended using Syncios - wonderful.
    All photos found.
All photos copied - except they are copied as thumbnails.
It would seem that ipad stores your photos as a thumbnail - but when you email the photo the true size is sent. (Thumbnail is 11kb - when I attach the same photo to an email it shows it as 1.1mb)
So - apart from creating and sending 3000 emails - so that I can transfer photos at their original resolution - HOW DO YOU TRANSFER PHOTOS FROM IPAD 1 TO A PC.
Apple really couldn't have made a 30second operation more difficult - or deliberately impossible.
There is NO option to do this via iTunes.
I can transfer photos from a PC to iPad using iTunes - but not the other way around.
So - please - does anyone have a degree in astro-physics that can explain how a person is supposed to transfer full sized photos, that are stored as thumbnails - from an iPAD 1 to a Win 8 pc?
ps... and yes I am irritated. This has taken me 2 days so far, and still unable.
pps... and no, I really don't need people posting - oh yes I have the same problem... I need answers.

HHow did the photos get on your iPad? since the original iPad does not have a camera, the photos were either received in emails, copied from the web or synced from your computer. If they were copied from emails or the web they should be available to copy off the iPad using whatever Camera or image capture application you have on your computer. Connect your iPad, start the application and transfer the photos.
if the photos were synced from your computer, they should still be on the computer used to sync from.

  • Unable to delete photos from iPad with Image Capture or PhoneView

I recently downloaded about 50GB of photos to my iPad. They are RAW+JPG. Some of the RAWs are from a new camera that does not have RAW support on the Mac yet.
Using Image Capture I downloaded all the photos to my Mac. They all have the green check-mark next to them indicating they have been downloaded.
After confirming that the images transferred without becoming corrupted, I went back to Image Capture and selected all, then hit the Delete button. I confirmed that I really want to delete them all permanently.
Then a little floating window appears that says "Deleting..." and it stays like that for a long time. Eventually Image Capture simply loses its connection with the Mac and simply leaves this console message:
    5/22/12 10:58:38.494 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.503: ([0x0-0x91091].com.apple.PTPCamera[9744]) Exited with code: 255
Back on the iPad, I see that some of the JPEG-format photos have been deleted while the RAWs that went with them are still there. Meanwhile for many others, both the RAW & JPEG both still remain.
Any ideas what might cause this? Is it because the Mac doesn't yet have support for the RAW file and therefore doesn't recognize it as an "image" file?

  • How can I delete photos from iPad but not iCloud?

Before setting up iCloud, my girlfriend downloaded photos from her camera to her iPad.  We now have iCloud set up, but the photos on her iPad remain in the "Photos" album instead of Photo Stream.  I would like to delete the photos from the iPad to free up storage space, and move them to the Macbook.  I'm guessing that I would need to somehow move them to Photo Stream then delete the old album where they were stored on the iPad...  Any ideas?

You don't.  There is the Camera Connection Kit, which let's you download pictures to your iPad via SD card, but the reverse is not a standard feature of iPad.  The best method would be to connect your iPad to your computer and transfer the pictures to your computer via iTunes.
