Retrieve notes removed during syncing

I recently synced my ipod and lost all of my notes - is there any way to retrieve them?

Do you use iCloud? If yes, disable it. You could also restore from backup.

It sounds like your iPad is sleeping or you lose your connection before the process completes.  Try plugging the iPad in to a power out and do the update.  Make sure you have a strong wifi signal.

  • I can not remove podcast synced to touch....

Once I have listened to podcast and I plug in my touch they do not removed from my touch. What do I need to do? I have tried reinstalling iTunes but that did not resolve the issue. Please help

Try removing the tick mark next *Sync Podcasts* from under this same time. Then hit the Apply button to update the changes on the iPod. Once it has finished, go ahead and reapply it to sync your podcasts back over to it.
    Any luck there?

  • Listened to podcasts not deleted during sync

    Hi All,
All of a sudden when I sync my iPod Touch to Tunes it no longer will properly sync listened to podcasts. They used to get synced to iTunes and marked as read. Now, they stay marked as unlistened in iTunes (blue dot) and get remarked on the iPod as unlistened to (blue dot) even though I have listened to the podcasts completely through to the end.
It almost appears as though the sync from the direction of iPod to iTunes has stopped functioning and I am only getting syncing in the direction of iTunes to iPod.
I have not changed any settings in iTunes. I have it set to sync unplayed episodes of selected podcasts which has always worked correctly for me in the past. My listened to podcasts used to be deleted from the iPod and only the unlistened/new podcasts would be synced to my iPod.
How do I correct this problem?
    Thanks for your help.
    Sue

I've seen and reported something like this as well. In my case, what I think I've figured out is that the "update podcast" function isn't happening UNLESS there is a new podcast episode downloaded for that subscription. I'm not seeing the heard/watched podcast getting remarked as unheard/unwatched on my iPod. If I go into the podcast list and ctrl-click and manually say "update podcast" it will delete the heard/watched episodes.
I never played much in the settings, but always have download all available and keep unheard podcasts selected. When this problem started I noticed a setting on each podcast regarding "auto delete" that I'd never noticed before. They seem to have been set randomly to "auto delete" or "don't auto delete", but again, I don't remember seeing or setting this before so it could have been something I did. I selected all the podcasts and set them to "auto delete".

  • Playlist not updated during sync with added songs

I have a manual playlist set up in iTunes where I store my  music. I then have iTunes set to sync only this playlist to my iPhone 5. However, when I've added a newly added song into this playlist, and performed a sync, the song does not move into the playlist on the phone. I have to uncheck "Sync music" sync the phone, then recheck "sync music" for it to appear. Only started when I upgraded to iOS7

Yeah, iOS 7 may be beautiful but it still has bad quality issues.  Apple needs to fix the bugs and hold off an any new feature work for the next version of the OS!!!

  • Files that "remember playback position" are not updating during sync

I listen to long spoken word MP3 files that are not podcasts. I have the "remember playback position" option checked on these files. I will add it to my library, sync it to my 2nd gen iPod shuffle, then go play it. The shuffle will remember the playback position fine. When I plug it into the computer again, iTunes used to update the files on my computer with the new playback position from the shuffle. This is not the case anymore. The local files will stay at the spot where they were at the original sync (0:00 in most cases). The files on the shuffle will then go back to 0:00 as well. This is very annoying. Any ideas?
P.S. I'm using the newest Shuffle that was released along with the 4th gen Nano (mine is the 2GB blue).
I know this is supposed to work because I had a silver 1GB shuffle in 2007 that worked fine.

ROFL I've named this thread "Shuffle Woes" in my favorites list. I seem to have fixed this strange and VERY elusive problem for now.
I discovered a duplicate music file that had the same metadata as another music file. The only difference between the two files was the name of the physical file on the hard disk AKA the file name. The metadata (tags) were exactly the same. Now that I've deleted one of the two files everything seems to magically work again. Don't ask me!
If the problem resurfaces again I'll be back. No more shuffle woes!

  • Photo syncing not happening during sync

I got a new computer and moved all my media over to it. I the backed up my iphone and ran a sync. My calendar, contacts, apps, and music all synced with no problem. However the photo folders that i have chosen to sync are not doing so. Periodically i have seen a message that says something about a "mobile uploader" not working properly. I have since run a restore but am still getting the same results. Any suggestions?

Only photos taken with your phone can be restored, they are part of the iphone backup (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766). If you want these photos back, you'll have to restore from a backup.

  • Authorization will not work during sync

Trying to sync ipad and I get a window saying this computer is no longer auntorized for apps.... When I enter my itunes password it will not accepts it. If I cancel out it says it will delete all the apps from the ipad. I do I get passed this sync step without loosing all my apps?

Try getting rid of the SC Info folder mentioned in this article
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
If that doesn't work, try DLing the free single of the week. You might need to agree to the new Apple store license agreement.

  • Music not deleting during sync

I added a bunch of music to my iphone no issue. But then I got bored with some of it and unmarked said artists and genres from my sync settings and selected new stuff to replace it.
The new music added no worries. But the boring stuff wasn't deleted. I've checked it four times to make sure everything was unselected.
And no I'm not using iTunes Match.
I've tried resetting my iphone, tried toggling off Sync Music and then turning it back on. I'm not using a device backup so there's no old settings to have gotten corrupted.
And the double odd, my ipad isn't having this issue.

My one update: I talked with a Genius, and he said the memory fluctuation has to do with the converting to 128 kps.  Although now that I think about it, wouldn't that imply that as my phone memory changes from more left over to less, it should end up at the "more" level, with the less memory available value being for the non converted case?
Also what's odd is that if I turn off the convert option, my memory fluctuates by 4 GB, not 0.5 GB.  No one seems to be able to, or interested in, answering this question, but I thought I'd add more conundrum to the question.

  • Apps removed during sync  WHY?

I dont sync my iPod touch to my computer very often, but I did today and while it was syncing it deleted a bunch of my apps. WHY? I mean, what reason would there be for this? I HATE when computer software automatically does something for me. Why can't it ASK ME before it does something like this? why does it have to automatically sync like that anyway? I have it set to not sync the music like that because of issues exactly like this.

This only got one of the apps back on there... Facebook.... the others are still nowhere to be seen. I just dont understand what the problem could be. I mean, why would apps just dissapear?

  • Itunes will not remove or install apps on my 4th gen touch.

Please help before I take a sledge hammer to this thing! I purchased an app on my iphone 4S and transfered it to I tunes. Now my 4th gen touch will not remove or sync any new apps. It lookd like the changes have been made in itunes but they are not on the touch. I have removed the restrictions and unchecked automatic sync as mentioned in other posts to no avail. I have done a reset on the touch and restored from a back up and still nothing.

Try removing GBA4ios and then set up the date and other things correctly. Frequently with incorrect time/date you can't connect to some sites.

  • IPhone not removing played podcasts during sync(using the unplayed feature)

    Hi folks,
I listen to a lot of podcasts. When I used an iPod the sync unplayed option. Once I listened to a podcast it was removed (saving space for more podcasts). With my iPhone I've got the options set up correctly (i.e. set at Sync Unplayed) but podcasts are not removed once I play them.
I called up Apple support and their Tier II were able to confirm the problem and are sending it up to their engineers. Hopefully that'll mean a fix in the next software update.

I am having the same problem.
iTunes transfers all of my podcasts to my 2nd Gen iPod Nano (and replacement 3rd Gen iPod Nano), regardless if I specify 1, 3, or 5 “most recent” podcasts or even completely disable podcast syncing altogether.
How do I know all my podcasts are being transferred?
    1. I see that iTunes is copying them during “Sync”
    2. The podcasts (almost 3 GB total if iTunes transfers all of my podcasts, under 100MB normally) take up space on my 4GB 2nd Gen iPod Nano, preventing me from syncing my music and audiobooks (around 2.22 GB)
    3. On my 2nd Gen iPod Nano, illicit podcasts can be found via “Artist”, “Album”, “Song”, etc.
    4. I see the podcast files when browsing my iPod using third-party software.
What have I tried to fix this?
    1. Closed and reopened iTunes
    2. Checked to make sure I had the most recent version of iTunes
    3. Checked to make sure I had the most recent version of the iPod Software (1.1.3)
    4. Downloaded and reinstalled iTunes (7.6.29)
    5. Reset my iPod
    6. Restored my iPod from iTunes
    7. Reformatted and then restored my iPod
    8. Deleted and restored my entire iTunes Library via Time Machine
    9. Exported, deleted and re-imported my entire iTunes Library
    10. Deleted and re-subscribed to my podcasts
    11. Reinstalled OS X 10.5 (“Erase and Reinstall”)
    12. Purchased a 3rd Generation iPod Nano
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open iTunes 7.6
    2. Delete all podcasts, move files to trash
    3. Connect iPod Nano
    4. Uncheck podcast syncing and apply settings
    5. Subscribe to podcast via iTunes Store
    6. Sync
    7. Watch as the podcasts are synced to my iPod
    5. Confirm using third-party software (or browse to tracks on 2nd Gen iPod Nano via “Artist”, “Album”, “Song”, etc.)

  • IPod "removing" itself during syncs

Does anyone else's iPod do this?
When I sync it to my Mac, it will usually take 2-3 cycles of "updating iPod" then "Device removed was not properly put away" then starting over with "updating iPod".
All this while I am not touching computer, cable, or iPod. It seems to lose the connection during the sync without my doing anything, and I've had to "restore" it about once a month.
It otherwise does not behave like it has a hard drive problem--it is flawless in playback, and only misbehaves during sync.

I am having the same problem but you are the only other person I have come across who is experiencing it to. I have a new 5g 30gb ipod and every time I plug it into my Mac I get 'updating ipod' followed by 'Device removed was not away properly' again without touching the dock, wire or keyboard. When I initially setup the ipod I got an 'unknown' error message which may have something to do with it, but I have restored factory settings since then and haven't had the message again. I have also since been able to add my entire itunes library to the ipod. If I click on the itunes library while I have the ipod connected it crashes itunes and it will not let me set some of the other preferences like Ical syncing. Help!! I previously had a 3g ipod and didn't have any major issues with it in 4 years!

  • Do anyone know about recovering notes that I accidentally deleted from my iPad during sync process? Thanks

Do anyone know about recovering notes that I accidentally deleted from my iPad during sync process? Thanks.

If you are using iCloud you can check to see if they are still available remotely by logging onto iCloud.com on a desktop/laptop computer, or 3rd party app like Private Browser or Photon.
If your not using iCloud, or they were also removed from there, you can restore from your last backup (iTunes or iCloud). Unfortunately, this will only recover notes created prior to backing up your iPad. Hope this helps!
