Retrieve password keeper and memo pad

I have an 8900. After recently having technical difficulties w/my device, a security wipe and restore were necessary. Restore via DM did restore all but my password keeper and memo pad. How can I retrieve these very imortant applications with data intact?

You will need to install the OS to your computer and then use loader.exe to install the apps back to the device. What OS version do you have on the new device? Compose a new mail and in the body type "myver"without the quotes and hit the space bar. Please post that version number and your carrier.

Hi all,
When I pair my Torch to the PlayBook it all goes as expected. I can browse the files on my phone and also open the internet browser; however, when I try to open Tasks, Calendar, Messages, Contacts, and Memo Pad I get:
Error 404 - We can't open the webpage that you requested because it could not be found
Bridge Browser and Bridge Files still work fine though.

Hi Guys!!! Have you already updated your software version to the 1.0.3..1868?
The best thing would be to delete and reinstall the bridge app from your smartphones and download it again,
Maybe the bridge app was corrupted on the first download. So, check if you have the latest software on the playbook and also the latest app version of the bridge on the smartphone.
Even so, it's better if you delete the app from your smartphone and downloaded again. One more tip would be to delete the bluetooth profiles of the smartphone on the playbook using the little pencil icon. Good luck guys! .

Password Keeper and Outloook Tasks

I have just purchsaed my first IPhone- 3GS 32GB. I'm trying to get used to the differences between it and my Blackberrry Curve. I have used Blackberry since its inception.
Couple of things I miss that wonder if anyone has any solutions to:
1)On Blackberry there is a password protector that requires a high enciption level passowrd separte from the phone password to get into. This stores all your infinite passwords to various sites, acounts, etc. It is an excellent tool that I will trully miss. I can see that IPhone does not offfer this. Can I get an app on IPhone to do the same?
2)Synching with Outlook does not bring over the TASKS. Any solution to this?

1) LOTS of apps, and many of them will sync with desktop versions. 1Password is often highly recommended---I use Wallet myself, because that's what I use on my Mac. There is also eWallet, and SplashID, I believe.
There are a number of third-party sites that replicate most of the app store but are much easier to browse, bookmark, compare apps, etc. This is the only one I can ever remember:

Question about Password Keeper

Hello All,
This is my first forum post. Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve password keeper information from the blackberry desktop manager? I did a backup and restore on my old phone, which had a broken screen, and am trying to retrieve the passwords to put on my new phone. The at&t rep did not know if the desktop manager kept this information or not. When I did a restore on my new phone, the passwords did not transfer. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Hello ToddStoner and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
The password keep should have backed up the data. If you go to do an advanced restore (as shown in KB23680 for Desktop Manager 6.0 or KB03953 for all other versions) you should see the Password Keeper database.
When you access the Password Keeper on your BlackBerry, did it ask for the existing password or create a new one?

Password Keeper - Character changes

Hi everyone,
I've been using a Blackberry for the last couple of years and I love them to bits!
I recently got my hands on a new blackberry Curve 8310 running v4.2.2.181 (platform 2.5.0.35) (recently to me is about 1 year.)
I'm security minded but lazy at the same time, this has resulted in me using the same strong 11 digit password (alpha, numbers & Special chars) for almost everything.
Wanting to help change this, i have started using the Password Keeper on my blackberry and everythings going fine, i've populated it with details of almost every online account and physical account i have.
The thing is now I want to start using the "Generate Random Password" function to its best effect.. only one thing is buggin me....
I've done the math assosiated with cryptography at college.. adding more character length to your password is cryptographicaly stronger than using a wider range of characters.
That said an 11 digit passwod using lowercase letters, numbers and special characters is stronger than a 10 digit password using lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and special characters.
I'm looking through the options on the password keeper and it allows me to choose if i want to use numbers, if i want to use letters and if i want to use special characters, but it does not seem to have an option to let me decide if I ONLY want to use uppercase or lowercase.... if i select YES to alphabetical characters its uses both.
Does anyone know of ANY WAY i can change this?
I idealy want to use letters as well as numbers and special characters but not uppercase letters as all they really do is add confusion.

If I were you, I'd try and look for a third party application that deals with passwords. Maybe one of them will provide the features you are asking for as far as generating passwords is concerned.

i just tried the utility from msi called password keeper and im not having any luck with it.i put all the info for a site with user name and password along with url.has anyone used this program and had any luck with it?it also seems to lock up alot.

Password keeper disappeared

Updated to v4.5 and my password keeper and notes icons dissapeared.
I tried to reload through Desktop Manager Advanced Restire by seclecting it individually from my back-up but it is greyed out and does not let me select it.
Help?

Password Keeper won't sync

Greetings,
I've opened Password Keeper, and when I go into Settings and turn Could Synchronization to On, I get this error message:
"Password Keeper is unable to connect to BlackBerry ID and can't perform cloud synchronization. Check that you are connected to a mobile network and that you are signed in to BlackBerry ID."
I tap OK to make the error go away.
I've verified that I'm signed into BlackBerry ID by going into Settings > BlackBerry ID. Everything looks fine there. I'm already connected to a mobile network. I've tried turning off Wi-Fi, but it didn't help. Is there anything else I could try?

Password Keeper Problems

So I gave my password keeper a password that I know I wouldn't forget. There is only one password it can be. It worked perfect for a few days and always let me in using my password. All of a sudden today, I tried getting into password keeper, and it says the password is wrong! I know for a fact it's not. I retyped it a few times and made sure i spelled it right and everything. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm 99.9% sure I have the right password.

Crazy: I just posted on the Password Keeper thread about same problem. Major disaster brewing for me if I can't restore my data in there after I hit the 10th try and get wiped. Others have said to back up to Desktop Manager, wipe the Password Keeper with 10 tries, then restore the file with a new password from DM. Sounds too simple so I'm waiting for some encouragement from other before I take the plunge. Stay tuned.

Memo Pad sync?

The screen on my bb curve stopped working so I had to get a replacement phone. Verizon was able to help me sync my contacts from my old phone to my new one but couldn't sync my calendar or Memo Pad. If I download the bb desktop software, will I be able to sync calendar and Memo Pad from my old phone to my new phone? Thanks!

Accessing Password Keeper Data using Desktop Software

I recently had a pressure crack to the LCD on my Curve 8310.
I need to access my stored passwords in Password Keeper, however since the LCD is toast, can't read anything on the phone.
I'm waiting on a replacement LCD, but need Password, ASAP.
Is there any programs to view the program on the pc?

I tried a solution which did actuall work, so I figured I would post in case anyone else has this same problem.
I had previously backed up the data from my Blackberry Curve 8310 using the Desktop Management Software.
I downloaded a Simulatr for my Curve 8310 and installed the software. I found the simulator at BlackBerry Smartphone Simulators - URL

Once the program was installed I ran the program, which brings up an image of the phone.
I started my Desktop Management Software.
Now back in the Smartphone Simulator
In the menu, I selected "USB Cable Connected" which simulates connecting the smartphone.
Once I did this, the Desktop Management Software prompted me to create settings for then new phone.
Once I set up this new Virtual Phone, I Restored my backup from the Desktop Management Software to the New Virtual Phone.
I could then use the mouse to go to the Password Keeper and open the program. It prompted me for my password and all of the data appeared.

Hello, did a full backup and restore to a new z30 but no password keeper data, - i had tried deleting password keeper, and restored the password keeper application ( still no previous data)- also tried to re-install password keeper and import data, but can not finde the fil, what is the file name or location of the file? any sugesstion ?thanks-you

Password reset for passport password keeper

Setting up new computer hp pavilion HPE thought I was storing passwords in a file for password protection and forget to record password for password keeper and now can not open my desk top because it has been password protected and I do not have password to open...

Firstly like King Penguin says log out ,i would clear cookies and history in the safari settings, then I would restart the unit and then open up ITunes and try using the last PW you entered when you changed it.Cookies can be a bugger.

Manual Sync issues - no tasks, no memos, no calendar events or entries in the Password Keeper sync with my computer

A year and a half after purchasing my phone I realized it has not been syncing hardly anything.
It will sync my pics and videos and my contacts. It says it syncs my call logs, my texts, my calendar entries, my tasks, my memos and my "applications" which I hoped meant my Docs-To-Go and my Password Keeper - applications which were on my phone when I purchased it.
However, when I look for these, the applications are nowhere to be found and the tasks and memos are unreadable. The calendar entries just don't appear at all.
I have Windows Vista 64 on my computer and the manual says the tasks and memos should appear in Microsoft Outlook. They do not.
I realized this when a manufacturing defect forced me to replace an identical phone after only a year. It took me 7 days straight to re-enter all of the information from my previous phone into its replacement. After all of that, the phone still won't synchronize.
I realize it synchronizes "wirelessly" now, but from what I can tell I would have to send each entry through email, which is time consuming.
Why can I not plug in the cord from my phone into the USB port on my computer and it backup everything? AS I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD WHEN I PURCHASED THE PHONE?

Yeah, I sort of agree...
But the dock is clearly a culprit.. my phone syncs with no problem when in the old dock, and gets hung up when connected to the combo dock with the BT headset attached.
