Retrieve trash emails

Hello,
does anyone know how to retrieve emails from the trash folder. The target email was in the trash folder. Today I opened the trash folder, saw the email, then it disappeared. Please help

Can you use the computer to access the email account directly rather than through the phone?

  • Retrieving Trashed Email

    Hi -
I accidentaly deleted and then trashed an e-mail that I wish I hadn't. Is there any way I can get it back? How long do e-mails generally stay on a server?
Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Julie

    Hello Julie.
Emptying the Trash in Mail removes any messages contained in the Trash from the hard drive. Recovering this deleted data will require using a data recovery utility as with any other data deleted from the hard drive unless this message is still available at the incoming mail server for the account.
How long do e-mails generally stay on a server?
For what type of email account - .Mac, IMAP or POP?
If a POP type account, you control when messages are removed from the server when downloaded by Mail via the account preferences.
If a .Mac or IMAP type account, the message was removed from the server when moved from the account's Inbox mailbox unless you store deleted messages on the server but even if so, your emptied the Trash so the message is gone regardless.

  • Can I retrieve an email from the trash on my ipod Touch?

I accidently sent an email to the trash can in my ipod Touch and I need it back. Is it possible? thanks

    Hello,
I never synced the Ipod touch to my computer's email since I just retrieve the email using the Touch when I'm away. The account linked to the Touch is an AOL account. On my computer it's the same AOL but I view it through my Mac mail application. I Since I first checked the email in question with the touch it pulled it off the IMAP server so I can't retrieve it on my computer or even at aol.com.

I use MAIL to retrieve my email.  One spam email will not delete.  HELP!  How do I get rid if it?  This is on an iPad2.

Try this. Don't open the email. Swipe across it in the preview window and a red delete button will pop up. Use that to delete it. You can delete it from the trash the same way if needed.

How do I retrieve deleted emails and messages?

If you want to retrieve your mail, and you don't know how to recover deleted Emails. You can sign in to your email first.
Then click Trash along the left side of any Gmail page. Locate the message you'd like to move to your inbox, and check the box next to the sender's name. Click Move to Inbox. See, the email recovery is as simple as Data Recvoery. Just try this way.

  • HT5361 Trash email

My wife's mail account is doing this: today at 10:28 she started an email and finished it at 10:36.  In Trash there are 15 versions of this email, backups of it every 30 seconds.  Why?  How can I stop this?

I noticed this problem in the past month or so as well. My trash has 100's of backup email. On occasion I want to retrieve an email I hastily deleted. It is very difficult to locate it now.

  • TS3899 On a 5C, how do I delete and trash emails to where they remain deleted? Every time I check emails it gives me the prior day's too even though they've already been dumped. Highly annoying!

Settings/Mail,contacts,calendars. Tap on the name of the account. Tap Advanced. Tap Remove after one day.
Also, do not try to read or delete messages while they are downloading. Wait until they finish and the phone beeps to confirm. If you delete messages before the mail retrieval session finishes they will not be removed from the server.

  • Mail only retrieving one email at a time

    Short history behind the problem:
About a month ago my Mac stopped retrieving new email completely.  Re-starting, re-building, etc. did nothing.  Using 'Get account info' I could see that the last email it thought was on the Gmail server looked a bit odd - no subject, etc.  After deleting that in Gmail I could then get new mail.
But now, even though I can see that there are about a dozen new emails on Gmail, the Mac only downloads one at a time.  Therefore at maximum 'get' speed that takes 12 minutes.
Interestingly, 'Get account info' doesn't show the latest emails, but Mail does get them - just one at a time.
Anyone got any ideas on this?
    Thanks,
    Richard

I might have found the solution for this.
Right-clicking on Inbox and selecting 'Get Account Info' I could see quite a few 0 size emails left on the server.  After selecting these and clicking 'Remove from server' it solved the problem - Mail now downloads many emails at once :-)
Hope this helps anyone who gets this problem too.

  • Hello and Thank You for your help!, I recently uninstalled malware from my computer. Since then I cannot open my gmail account and retrieve my email. ail.

I removed the ASK tool bars from my computer and since then I keep being told the cookies is either enabled or disabled. I refreshed Firefox and that solved nothing it just erased somethings that I setup on my desktop. I'm not dump but I'm not that well versed in resolving this issue and I don't want to make matters worse.......please help! And thank you so much! One more thing......I can still retrieve my email using Explorer but chose not to because of the lack of support for XP which is what I have. Again Thank You

Good afternoon and thank you John99!... for the reply and advice to my problem the other day. To give some insite to the issue I presented...the ASK toolbar was somehow downloaded onto my laptop and I not knowing that it was as malware and dangerous to my computer at first I left there. I did not like the fact that it was there and how it seemed to take over my setup. Well I looked into it which was fairly easy and found out what I did about Mindspark...not good! I also discovered while trying to solve the problem after receiving you responseto this problem that JAVA ORACLE can carry the Ask toolbar thru their updates. When OKed an update I found it wanting to add the ASK toolbar. I know that in the past I have not allowed other things that carry the ASK toolbar to download this because I liked what I had already setup. Well some where along the way it got downloaded. Anyway...I tried what you had suggested and nothing has changed. I receive email's thru Exployer and bring up my desktop to get onto Mozilla. This is not working!!! I just want to get onto Firefox, click into gmail and anything else I want and use it!..I can assure you that the one thing I cannot do is get into my gmail. It wants to tell my about my cookies...I have pressed all the right buttons and this is not solving anything at all. I was wandering that if I remove Firefox and download it again will this solve the problem. And will I be able to use all the same information or will I find it telling me that someone else already has that email, password, name, etc. because it did not clear everything when I removed Firefox from my computer? Remember, I'm not an expert on computers so any information you may have or suggestions you can give would be highly appreciated but step by step details are also welcome and needed! Again...Thank You so much, truly! Diana12

  • I suddenly am unable to retrieve my emails.  I discussed this with my Internet provider, but still get an error message and can't access my emails.  Any suggestions???

I am unable to retrieve my emails since yesterday.  I called Time Warner Cable, my Internet provider, but they could not help me; they stated that the settings had changed, since they were upgrading.  I adjusted the settings, but still get an error message:
              Alert
There may be a problem with the mail server or network.  Verify the settings for account "Mail 1" or try again.
The server returned the error:  The connection to the server "smtp.roadrunner.com" on port 110 timed out.
I changed the server, and the port, as Time Warner Cable tech rep recommended, but to no avail.  They recommended I delete my current email account and recreate it, but that I check with Apple first, because I might lose my contact list (and any email messages I'd previously saved!?).  They suggested Apple might be able to tell me how to not lose the contacts, emails, profile.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, what Interface are you using, & which one are you checking?
Each Interface will have it's own settings.
Though all of these steps may or may not be needed, I'm including them all.
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
    10.4 instructions...
Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations.
    If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
    Click OK.

  • How do you recall or retrieve an email using safari

How do you recall or retrieve an email that was sent by error using safari?

Unless otherwise noted, sending an email can’t be undone; its content will be in the Sent folder and can be retrieved from there, but the email itself has left the places you have access to.

Yeah not a problem. It does seem though that if you did not have a Time Machine backup then you may not be able to recover the deleted folder :/ But for future reference to prevent any of this, a Time Machine backup is a great investment.
What it does is create an entire backup of your computer anything from personal information down to the screen saver.
What you first need is a new external hard drive (I would recommend a 1TB or higher just to prevent running out of space soon).
after that, just plug in the drive to your computer.
once it is plugged in, in the top right hand corner, close to the wi-fi symbol, you should see a symbol that looks like a clock with a backwards arrow around it.
click on that and select "open time machine preferences"
just turn the button to the "on" position, and select the backup drive and Time Machine does the rest
    very great tool
