Retrieving account information without Firewire?

I had been using a first generation Mac Book until it crashed last week. The store diagnosed it as a hardware problem and told me that the hard drive was completely unreadable. (They couldn't save my data). I purchased a new MacBookPro. I didn't have internet when I set it up, so the computer couldn't access my apple ID and information. Now that I have internet I am wondering:
1) Can I get my old account information on this computer without doing a Firewire transfer?
2) Can I get this computer to recognize my iTunes account, which is linked to my apple ID? (As of now, it won't let me listen to my own music without authorizing it) (Also - this is off topic, but will iTunes let me redownload the music I already paid for?)

Your iTunes account doesn't change. Open iTunes and authorize the computer. I'm not sure if you can re-download the music you've already paid for, but you can certainly give it a try. I know you can re-download iPhone apps.
If your old computer's drive is unreadable, then you will not be able to access the drive via Target Disk Mode.
The only information Apple keeps based on your Apple ID is your personal information you provided when you completed the Setup Assistant forms. You cannot retrieve that information from Apple via the internet.

Every time I try to upload a picture from my gallery to Picasa I get and message " Failed to retrieve account information" . I have full strength 4g and data connection is good, my Picasa albums show up in my gallery, but I can't add a photo to an album for the life of me. Ideas?

It turns out that if I have Drop Box installed on my GNex then pictures won't upload to Picasa. I have confirmed this to be a problem with a few ICS devices and even found some info on this issue on Google's forums ( http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/mobile/kW1D7jt-DMw ).
Basically until an update to ICS or Drop Box comes through the only solution is to uninstall Drop Box :-(

You are trying to find a loophole to circumvent a basic rule that prohibits the transfer of purchased content from one Apple ID to another.
Content tied to an Apple ID are bound to that Apple ID forever. You can not merge or trade accounts. Well, not (officially) anyway...

i have trial account on 'Siebel on demand' and want to retrieve the information from account or any object. There is one method mentioned in the 'OnDemWebSvcs.pdf' file as 'ContactQueryPage' ,but how to used this method is not clear.
So can any body give any pointer on this?

Apple IDs never go away, so it still exists.
But lets be clear. You actually stopped using an Apple ID and created a NEW Apple ID. You didn't just change the email address of your Apple ID? That means that all of the music and apps purchased with the old Apple ID will have to be purchased again.
If you really did create a new Apple ID you will need the password associated with the old one to disable Activation Lock. There is no way around this. As I said, the old one still exists. You can use the standard tools to recover the password at https://appleid.apple.com.

How come I get all account information without specifying the username pass

I intsalled the sun directory server and try a couple of sample programs available on the net to see how can i get the infromation form the server.

How do I get past "Unable to Verify Hotmail Account Information" on iPad2? Can't retrieve my Hotmail e-mails from my iPad, Help!

Bought a new iPad2 with wi-fi access. I am at home on my wi-fi network using iPad. Trying to add my Hotmail account to the iPad so I can retrieve my e-mail messages. When I try to add the Hotmail e-mail account to the iPad, I select Windows Live Hotmail on the iPad. I then enter my Hotmail e-mail address and Hotmail password in the iPad. The iPad then says Verifying. Then a box pops up saying "Hotmail Account, Unable To Verify Account Information". I spent about an hour on the phone with iPad support and they tried everything they could to no avail. iPad support said I would need to contact Hotmail support. I have learned that Hotmail does not have a support phone number that you can call, only a search area that is of no help. I am able to log onto my Hotmail e-mail account no problem on my regular computer. I was able to program my wife's Comcast.net e-mail into the iPad no problem and bring up her e-mail on the iPad. I can not get past the "Unable to verify Hotmail Account Information" message on the iPad. Frustrated, want to be able to retrieve my Hotmail e-mail messages from my iPad, please help! Thank you.

My hotmail was working properly until one month ago , then I do not what happens ... My mistake has been to cancel that account and try to re-load it... I am blocked at "unable to verify account details".

You definitely can.
To remove your payment information open iTunes and go into your account. An easy way to access your account is from quick links on the store home page. After you login there will be a payment type listed with an edit button next to it. Click edit then select none under card type (next to visa, mastercard, etc).
Afterwards at the bottom of the page select done, then your card will no longer be on file. It will prompt you for a card next time you try to download something that isn't free.

If the Account name is wrong in Settings>iCloud you'll have to scroll to the botom and tap Delete Account, then sign back in using the correct ID.

If you need to change the iCloud ID on your new phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

DA Reporting: "Accounting information can only be retrieved for 3 months"

I've configured my DirectAccess server for Inbox Accounting (reporting) and twelve months' storage. When trying to view a report of greater than three, I get the following error:
"Accounting information can only be retrieved for 3 months. Specify a range of 3 months or smaller."
How can I view Reporting data going back longer than three months? Is there a WID viewer that I can point at the data? If so where is the data file located?

Unfortunately you will need to contact and negotiate with your Communication Provider as BT Retail (an ISP who operates this forum) can't help you as you're not a BT Retail Customer.
Openreach (a BTplc Group Company) own, maintain and install the exchanges and telecommunication lines for the majority of ISPs and Communication Provider. However Openreach is a seperate line of business to the rest of the BTplc Group and have to treat all ISPs/CPs equally and BT Retail do not get any priority.
Openreach do not talk to end users like you and I, they will only talk to the ISPs/CPs.
I'm afraid you will need to take this up with your Communication Provider.

Problems with PPTP VPN server authentication - Could not retrieve key agent account information

Errr so far switching to a mac based server has been a mess. I have had it with permission issues!!
Here is my latest problem. After rebuilding the server several times my VPN clients can't connect. Every other time it has been fine but for some reason its just not working. I did recreate the vpn from a back up. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Anyway below is the error I am getting. Anyone have any idea what is causing it? Thank you for your help John. Before I could even employ your suggestion the server crashed. I don't understand why I am constantly dealing with these issues. Go to iTunes menu, STORE and sign out. Then you can sign in from there or create a new account which should match the account you have on your iPad and iPhone.

Weird message in iCal "Error Locating Account Information"

I've a problem syncing iCal with Google calendar.
It works in the beginning very well, but sometimes I receive the message:
Error Locating Account Information
Request encountered an unexpected error (domain CalDAV No Calendar Home Error / code 1).
And the calendar stops syncing.
What is this message ? Why works well and then, suddenly, stops ?(without change any setting)

That is an error message coming back from the Google CalDAV server when iCal requests an update of your calendars.
1.) First make a backup of your calendars by clicking on each one, one at a time and going to File > Export > Export and then saving the files somewhere for safekeeping.
2.) Delete the Google account from iCal > Preferences > Accounts
3.) Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical and / or "ical"
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
4.) Launch iCal and then go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and re-add your Google account being very careful to type in the user name and password correctly.
See if that helps.
