Retrieving admin username and password

Hello:
Can someone tell me how I can retrieve the username and password for the admin URL? The DBA is gone and he didn't document any of this info.
Thanks.

Hi,
You can follow the steps here to change the password for the admin account ( the user name is ADMIN ):
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/db_install.htm#CIHBHAFJ
It basically just involves running the @apxchpwd.sql script from the apex install directory ( in oracle home ).
best,
john

  • Admin username and password not recognized for upgrade

I'm trying to upgrade a user account on my computer to Yosemite. This is that not the admin account.  My admin username and password are rejected.  It is also rejected when I try to do something such as change the power settings.  If I'm doing this within my admin account the same username and password work just fine.  I have no idea how to fix this.

One more follow up question. I logged back into my admin account to upgrade to Yosemite.  The software was already downloaded in the user account using the apple ID and PW associated with that account, which is different than the apple ID associated with the admin account.
Within my admin account, on the first page of the app store app it shows OSX Yosemite as 'downloaded' and nothing happens when I click that button.
The only other option is to click 'learn more' under the OSX Yosemite image. From that page it asks me to sign in to the App store to download Yosemite. The Apple ID box already contains the other Apple ID (not the one I want to use), and there is no option to change that.  All I can do is enter that password.
I'd like to complete this with my Apple ID but I don't know how to change it.

  • ICM ADMIN username and password

    Hi frnds
I have installed SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12 on my system. I have started the application server and it works fine but when i click on ICM in MMC it is asking me to enter ICM ADMIN username and password.
What needs to be entered please let me know?
    Thanks

    check this  <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/82/9e98d786f040209e6a9e8145153939/content.htm">Create Administration User</a>
    1.      As user <sid>adm go to the directory where the executables are kept and call up icmon &#8209;a pf=<instance profile> .
    The following appears:
    Maintain authentication file
    ============================
    File name (icmauth.txt):   .
           2.      If you are happy with the default file name, press the enter key, otherwise enter a different file name or path.
           3.      In the next menu choose a (add user to set).
           4.      Enter the user name, then the password twice, the group name, the subject of the X.509 certificate (wildcards allowed, and it can be left empty).
    User Name: icmadm
    Enter Password: *****
    Re-enter Password: *****
    Group name: admin
Subject Value of Client Cert: CN=template,*
    new entry locally created
The user created is in group admin, the user is therefore an administration user without administration authorization. In particular this user can create further users in the Web admin interface.
If you select another group name other than admin, create a monitoring user that can monitor, but not administrate, the ICM/Web Dispatcher.
If you want a user to be able to log on only with the X.509 client certificate, you can enter an x as the password (with queries), which makes the following entry (in the example) in file:
    icmadm:x:admin:CN=muster,*
           5.      Choose s (save changes of set to file), to copy your changes from the local buffer to the authorization file.
           6.      Choose q, to quit the program.

  • Reset Admin UserName and Password?

Is there a way to reset you Admin username and password? Do I have to re-install?

Following information is from Installation Guide, Troubleshooting section. It seems to indicate that you have to re-install.
If you do not remember the administrative user name that was supplied during installation, try the user name admin. This is the default user name specified in the server configuration dialog during installation.
If you still cannot determine the user name, look in the following file:
    domain_config_dir/domain1/admin-server/config/admpw
This file contains the administrator's user name followed by the encrypted form of the administrative user's password.
If you do not remember the administrator's password, then you will need to uninstall and reinstall the application server.
If you do not remember the administrator's password, then you can delete the administrative domain using the delete-domain subcommand of asadmin and create a new domain with a new administrative password.

  • APEX is running. I'm at the login page. Now I can't remember my admin username and password

After hours upon hours of finding fixes to get Oracle Application Express running, I am now on the verge of finally getting the test environment setup. In the frustration, I have now forgotten my username and password that I had when I created the thing.
    Help?
BTW, is my default workspace called "Internal?"

login with sys account over installation folder..
    e.g C:\apex>sqlplus
    connect:sys/xe@xe as sysdba
    SQL:>@apxchpwd
You can reset ADMIN password(e.g Apex_4.2)

  • Lost admin username and password

I recently was given this IMAC for free, by the school I work for. Unfortunatly, the person who was at the time the main administrator did not leave his username and password. (He recently quit and moved out of state). Thus I cannot open files, add software, ect. Can I start over from the begining? Any help would be gracefully accepted.

if you have the installation disks handy, you can put the first disk in, restart the machine, and hold down the C key.
this will boot from the DVD/CD drive.
once the install wizard has started, go to the utilities menu, and select password change.
this will allow you to change the password for the admin user.
you could also reinstall the os entirely by going through the installation wizard (this assumes you do not want to keep any information on the machine)

  • How can I change the admin username and password

how can I change the default admin adminadmin username and password for the server

What version of Creator are you use?
In Creator 2 Update 1, using Application Server version 8.2, you can do the following..
    1) Log into the Admin Console using the default UID/PWD
    2) Expand the tree view by following this path:
    Application Server > Configuration > Security > Realms > admin-realm
    3) Click on "Manage Users"
    4) Click on the UserID "admin"
    5) enter the new password that you would like
    6) Click on the "Save" button on the upper right side of the page.
That should do it for you.
    Good luck

  • Retrieving my username and password on my router settings.

Okay. So a while ago i secured my network and then i happened to unsecure it cause someone in our house couldnt seem to get their computer to access the internet even though all the other computers were able to. anways. I want to resecure the network, but I went to the ip 192.168.1.1 to change the settings back and it brings up a username and password window that i never remember popping up before.
so i assume that i made a username and password for my router and just dont remember? anyways, How do i reset it to factory or get into my settings. arg. **bleep** technology.

some of the lights were still flashing when i hit the reset button but its weird... i have tried the username and password that i figured i would have used to secure it and then also tried username "admin" w/ password as the password and also just password with no username. it goes to a page that says Opening page with the window to enter my info on top of it but it just says loading the entire time. nothing happens. not sure if that means i typed it in right and the site just sucks or what? cause I left it up for a good 5 minutes and it was still doing the same thing.

  • Need help resetting or changing my admin username and password without the installation disc

I accidentally clicked on the check box that is located in system preferences in accounts that says "Allow user to administer this computer" and unchecked it. So the account that I set up the user name and password to is not the administer anymore and I don't know what account is. So now every time I want to make changes to anything and click on the lock button it will not accept my username and password. So how do I reset my username and password for the administer without the installation disc and without losing any files or folders????

Those changes require an installation DVD. However, see:

  • Forgot admin username and password

I a computer from my work with enterprise on it and it is locked and i cant log in. I dont know the username for it, or the password.  Is there a way i can restore it so i can create a new admin account, or to bypass it? Thank you for the help

you can reset the admin password if you have any other user who has administrator privileges. otherwise there is no recommended
way by Microsoft to reset the administrative passwords.

  • My admin status has been changed to standard after the yosemite software update, now i have no admin and can't tso anything as before doing anything it asks for admin username and password, which i don't know as there is no admin!

admin status changed to standard, currently no admin, what to do!?

Please take these steps to restore administrator privileges to your account. This somewhat tedious procedure is only necessary if you've confirmed that no administrator account exists on the system.
If you don't already have a current backup of all your data, you must back up before taking any of the steps below. Ask if you need guidance. You won't need the backup unless something goes wrong—which is always possible.
    Step 1
Start up in Recovery mode. The OS X Utilities screen will appear.
    Step 2
Take this step only if you use FileVault 2. Launch Disk Utility, then select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the  Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
    Step 3
    Select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Select your startup volume if not already selected. Pull down the menu labeled
              Select the user account
    and select
              System Administrator (root)
Follow the prompts to set a password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9. I suggest you write down the password. If you don't write it down and forget it, you'll have to start over from Step 1.
    Select
               ▹ Restart...
    from the menu bar.
    Step 4
This step, like Step 2, applies only if you use FileVault. Log in as usual, then select
               ▹ Log Out...
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-Q. Don't restart. You'll be returned to the login screen.
    Step 5
At the login screen, click Other... Enter "root" (without the quotes) in the Name field, and enter the password you set in Step 3 in the Password field. You should now be logged in as root. This is a potentially dangerous condition. Do nothing while logged in as root except as indicated below. You'll be fine as long as you don't deviate from the plan.
Open the Users & Groups preference pane. Select your usual administrator account in the list of users and check the box marked
Allow user to administer this computer
You'll be prompted to restart. Do that and log in as yourself—not as root. Your administrator status should now be restored.
    Step 6 (optional, but recommended)
Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "Disable the root user." You must authenticate in Directory Utility as "root" with the password you set in Step 3. Authenticating as another administrator won't work.

Thanks very much. This helped me debug my first connection to a MySQL database.
I am new to J2EE and would like to develop applications the right way. Is there a book/ tutorial that is recommended as the best simple first 101 example for J2EE application development and deployment using the MVC approach.
It would be great if I could use an example with complete details on the preferred method for setting up the connection to the database, creating web-services and using the connections and web-services in JSP pages.
