Retrieving backed up data from IMac to IPhone 4
Hi
I took my IPhone4 to the apple store today as I was receiving an error when trying to update to IOS6. They updated but all of the data was removed form my phone, which I thought was ok as I had backed up to my ITunes. Now I have got home and my ITunes isn't recgnising the IPhone ans my phone (it's now called Apples Iphone) so I cant work out how to get all of my information back onto my phone. Please can someone help

And my iTunes sign in is also screwed up... It is underneath my friends email (the one with my backed up data on his Mac laptop) HOW DO I CHANGE THIS SO THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD APP's again...I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone. Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

I began having problems with my iphone 5 after I updated to ios7. It began having several issues e.g. freezing, turning on and off by itself and the home button was not responding.
It is a long story because I had to talk to apple reps etc. to make a long story short; my iphone is now in recovery mode and only works when it is set as a new iphone.
Now my back up data on itunes will not back up into my iphone 5 and my iphone is still in recovery mode.
How can I restore my itunes back up data into my iphone 5?
How can I get my phone out of recovery mode?
How can I recover my potentially lost data, contacts, sms, etc., due to backing up my iphone and trying to fix the issues with apple reps?ArmanG wrote:

When you say that you have pictures saved on iCloud from those old phones, do you mean that you backed them up to iCloud at some point? Were the photos taken on the phones? Did you have Photo Stream? Is it the same iCloud account as your new phone?
Here's why I am asking - if they are on the same iCloud account and had Photo Stream, any chance you are still seeing the photos on Photo Stream on your new phone?
If you are certain that the last backups to iCloud that you did with those phones contain the photos you want, you could always take the radical step of restoring a phone to one of those backups, importing the photos, then restoring that phone to the other backup, and importing those photos....
Depends on how badly you want to get those photos....it would be a complicated process, and you would want to make sure that you had the device you were doing all of that on backed up as well, so you could ultimately restore it back to the way it was before you started messing around.....also, they would all need to be on the same iCloud account or you would have to then start messing around with the iCloud settings as well.
But just wanted to let you know that there would be a way to do it....just not a very quick and easy way.

I would like retrieve all my data from my IPhone 4S after I lost all my data due constant Apple logo on! After I restored this phone I lost all my contacts, text messages, pictures, videos..!!! The question I have is if I never backed up to iCloud and iTunes is there any way I can retrieve all my data that was before restoring this iPhone 4S. Please help! ? I greatly appreciated !!!
If you never synced your phone to your computer and your contacts were not synced to iCloud or another cloud-based service, everything is gone. You will have to start fro scratch.

I backed-up the data from my old iphone via itunes onto my computer. Now, I have "restored" the replacement iphone- or so I thought. There is none of my old info onto this new phone. Help. I am at a loss. Where do I go to get all of my old data- contacts, apps, music, etc...

Doesn't work. I have no contacts indicated and no notes, etc... from my old iphone.
I have an iphone 4 - so there is no SIM card. Maybe I didn't back up the data properly from the old iphone. I haven't deleted anything yet so I guess I could do the whole process over...

My iPHone is connected to my iMac, and I want to transfer files from iMace to IPhone. Instructions say to go to iTunes, look under Devices for my Device. I do so, and no devices are listed. How do I get iTunes to recognize my iPhone?
Make sure your iMac is on 10.6.8 or higher and your iTunes is up to date. If it is, then restart your computer, open iTunes, then plug in your device. If it still is not showing up, follow the steps listed here: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

Can I unlock an old, unused iPhone 3GS (to be used overseas with a local simcard) and upload on it data from a newer iPhone 4 on the same MacBook Pro?
I got approval to unlock my 3GS from AT&T and in the process of updating the operating system. I am now using a iPhone 4 on my computer. I just want to know the following:

Just back the phone up to icloud and restore iPhone from backup on the new phone. When you are going through the set up process it ask you if you want to set the phone up as new or restore from a backup. You do not nee itunes at all or anything hooked up.

I don't use iCloud back up, but I understand you can do that.
It's always better to use a mac/PC based back up, I'd only consider the iCloud back up if I didn't have a mac. -
Retrieving Chrome Library data from Time Machine?
How can I Retrieve Chrome Library data from Time Machine? It seems no Library data has been backed up. Any ideas why not and How I can get the hidden library to be backed up in the future and have access to it in Time Machine?
We might help you better if you possibly knew what you were talking about. OS X only hides the user's /Home/Library/ folder. Only the Chrome developers know where they would be hiding a Chrome library, if there is such an animal.
If you want to find the /Home/Library/ folder:
Exposing the /Home/Library/ Folder
Pick one of the following methods:
A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN.
B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.
C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:
~/Library
Press the Go button. -
RESETTING THE RESTRICTIONS PASSCODE - Even after restoring the iphone and bringing back the data from icloud you cannot reset your restrictions passcode as it is stored in the icloud backup.

Can I define a Function as part of the Report?
In an Oracle Report, I want to define a Function, to use in the report query. I defined a Function CALC_DIFFERENCE under Program Units. It compiled OK. But when I tried to use this function in the query it get them message ORA-00904 "CALC_DIFFERENCE"

I recently installed Photoshop CS4 and find the brush cursor faulty. Only a portion of the cursor shows up. With a small brush most of the cursor shows. With a large brush only a small segment in the upper left shows. Anybody else have this problem?
