Retrieving contacts and photos off a dead phone?
Hello all,
my partner has a Nokia 2330 (I think that's the model!) and it powers up, but the screen is blank and the phone doesn't seem to do much else. The problem is she has phone numbers and photos stored on the phone and can no longer access them.
Is there a way of retrieving them, even if the phone is basically dead?

Your bad luck is that the Phone has PC connectivity but ONLY thru' Bluetooth and no USB..hence it will not be possible.. Sorry about that...

In this case you would have to reset your new device (Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings) in order to restore it from a backup during the device setup.

How do I do it from my iPad ??He could access his contacts by signing into his account on icloud.com. You wouldn't need to sign into his iCloud account on your iPad. If you want to anyway, you would need to save any photo stream photos that you wanted to keep to your camera roll, then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPad and provide the password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in with your partner's ID. (This will only allow you to access photo stream photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.) When you're done, repeat the process, deleting your partner's account and data from your iPad, then sign back in with your ID to recover your iCloud data.
Camera roll photos are included in the iCloud backup and can be recovered by restoring the backup to a replacement iPhone (they cannot be recovered by restoring the backup to your iPad). -
My i phone 5 screen shattered yesterday, but phone still works. Is there a way I can still retrieve my contacts and photos from my other phone?
Yes, if it's an iPhone that support iCloud and the photos are in the iPhone 5 Camera Roll.
The other photos albums should be in your photos library on your computer. -
Hi, needing advice, my phone today has contacts and photos from nearly a year ago that were deleted. I have not connected to itunes lately and icloud backup is switched off.. Its only annoying as some of my family have changed there phone numbers and now i cannot tell which is the correct number as there are now multiples. Any help would be great. Thanks
Have you recently added your Facebook credentials? If you haven't synced with your PC recently, this is likely the reason.

I have accidentally retored my phone back to factory settings and lost my contact list, photos and all. I have retrieved my apps via itunes but is there any way to reverse this so I can get my photos and contact list back?

All contacts on your iPhone should be available on your computer. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for such important data. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
Contacts and photos/videos in the Camera Roll should be included with your iPhone's backup which should have been created or updated by iTunes as the first step during the restore process - unless you declined the option.
If you declined the option, the data is gone. If not, restore your iPhone again from the backup that was created or updated before the previous restore. -
My iPhone 4S had an update for general and I hit it and the screen had a line that filled up and then the phone shut off , apron restarting it shows you to connect to iTunes and when I did it told me to reset my phone which will erase all my photos and contact data . Is there any thing I can do at this point to back out of the upload or finish it without losing info?Keep in mind that at this point my phone will not turn on it only comes on and shows and tells me to plug into iTunes . There are many ways to back up photos and contacts on an iPhone:
Photos - copy them to your computer with a USB cable; the phone will appear in Windows or Mac as a digital camera.
Photos - Enable Photo Stream, which saves them to iCloud and syncs to your computers(s)
Contacts - set to sync to any contact app on your computer (e.g., Outlook, Address Book)
Contacts - Enable sync to iCloud. This is real time and will always be up to date
Everything on the phone (including contacts and photos) - Back up to iTunes on your computer
Everything on the phone - Back up to iCloud
All of these are described in the manual.
If you did not do ANY of these then the contents are already lost. -

Have you failed to use the device as designed?
If using the iPhone as designed, contacts are synced with a supported application on the computer or a cloud service. Pictures taken with the device would be copied off to the computer on a regular basis.
If you have been using the device as designed, simply sync the content back.
If you have not been using the device as designed, you can try restoring from the most recent backup. However, if that does not restore them, they are gone. -
I have given my old iphone to my daughter however cant seem to disconnect the two phones. I use icloud. What do i do to stop her using my email address, no for facetime, sharing info, contacts and photos????
To wipe phone
Turn off imessage in settings/messages
Turn off Facetime in settings/Facetime
Delete icloud account in settings/icloud
Erase all data and settings in settings/general/reset
Delete the phone from your profile in https://supportprofile.apple.com if you registered your phone there -
I used my apple Id and my iCloud account on my mom's iPhone and all my contacts and stuff went to her phone and hers on mine. I tried to delete my apple id off of her phone now how do I delete the iCloud? And will the data from my phone be deleted too if I delete my iCloud off of her phone?

Well, yeah. You want to create separate accounts for each of you, using individual Apple IDs. I know mothers and daughters like to share clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. but don't share Apple IDs. -

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

Lost contacts and photos during a backup. Can I retrieve them without a new backup?
I plugged in my husband's phone to add music and it made me update iTunes before doing so. I did and it restored my husband's phone to an old backup from a while ago. He lost all his new contacts and photos, which include our daughter's birth that was this week. I'm so mad right now. Is there any way to recover these without a current backup?
If you had an IMAP mail account then all your emails are stored on the server, so install Thunderbird and create the IMAP mail account to see folders and emails on the server.
If you had a POP mail account then all of your emails were stored on the computer and you should have been creating regular backups of your Profile folder or at least created a backup of your Profile (and any other documents / images etc on your computer ) before wiping the computer/reformatting and reinstalling OS. So you can use the backup to reinstall the Profile. If you used MozBackup tool to create the *.psv file, then reinstall MozBacktool and use it to restore the Profile.

If you did not create a backup of the Profile, but backed up/saved emails as .eml files saved to an external device, then you could use this addon to put those .eml files back into the new Profile.
