Retrieving corrupted pic. files from ipod

Hi,
I recently formatted my hardrive and stored all my photos on my 30g video ipod. The photo were then accidently deleted off my ipod. I then downloaded a software that retrieved the files off my ipod. The software is called "Data Doctor Recovery". When I recovered all my photos I could not open any of them. My computer told me that there was "no preview". The photos were all the right sizes though. Could anyone tell me how I could get these photos back?

Do you have anything else connected to your computer, such as an external harddrive, Printer (especially one with flash drive slots), etc? If you do, disconnect them.
Also you might want to try updating or reloading your USB driver before the next attempt: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136
Make sure to use a rear USB port when you connect.

  • Is there a program I can use to retrieve corrupted .MOV files, from a HD memory card where some files will open, and others wont?

    Hi,
    I have a Mac OS X version 10.6.8 with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory.
I have recently shot some still and moving footage on my Cannon EOS 500 D (digital camera) using an AMICOE SD C10 8 GB high speed memory card.
After uploading these photos and movies onto my Mac, I am only able to open about 2/3 of the files that appear on the screen.  In the case of the movie files, I can see a number of the file icons, however about 1/3 of them will not open (I get a message saying that Quicktime does not recognise this file - yet it is a .MOV file. Interestingly I can see a small thumbnail for each of these files that will not open, however I am unable to expand the thumbnail into the larger size) and there are a number of photos that simply do not appear as a file or thumbnail.
Is there a program I can use to retrieve these corrupted .MOV and JPEG files from either my computer or the memory card?
Thank you for your interest in this question.
    Cheers,
    Shaughno.

....to add to the last part... When adding to the iTunes library,- I need iTunes to make a quick-scan to verify that media I am adding isn't already in there,- preventing duplicates that make remedial tasks of removing* duplicates so annoying and unproductive...

  • GETTING FILES FROM IPOD TO HARDDRIVE

I WANT TO RETRIEVE FILES FROM IPOD BUT ITS LINKING COMPUTER IS NOT AROUND.
I ASSUME THIS CAN NOT BE DONE AT ALL, IS THAT RIGHT?
    PLEASE RESPOND!

the short answer is no. the long answer has to be yes, because the music is stored on the ipod. i believe it is stored in invisable folders on the ipod and it may be possible to get them off it. how this system works im not sure. there are all sorts of costly programs to do this that i have seen. your best bet is to try to view the invisable/ hidden files on the ipod and copy what looks right

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • I installed PS EL. 7 on my laptop w/ pic files from desktp.  How do I get organizer to recognize?

I installed PhotoShop Elements 7 on my laptop w/ pic files from desktop.  How do I get organizer to recognize the work I did on the desktop? Tags, comments, catalogs, etc?

Any tags that you added to media, should show up in Organizer when importing media. If not, please check Keyword Tags panel in the right pane in Elements Organizer.
Also, you may turn on to see File details which would also show tags and caption in the media grid, by using the option - View > Details in Elements Organizer.
    Thanks

  • How to create a proxy to retrieve the xml file from web services

    Hi Every one,
We have a requirment where we receive a xml file from Kenexa, a third party HR tool using a middleware tool. from SAP side We have to create a proxy to retrieve the xml  file from web services by initiating call through middleware tool i used earlier.
these are the steps i intend to follow to accomlish the requirement.
    1) middleware tool has to initiate the call to kenexa web services to  receive the xml file when it is available.
    2) On SAP we need to create a ABAP Proxy service provider to middleware where this file can be received.
Can any one guide me how i can create a proxy to retrieve the xml  file from web services by initiating call through other middlewre (its not PI).
Any help would be really great, i am not a ABAP developer, so please help me with this. Thanks.

    Thank for reply.
The computers are in different locations, but yes it's possible, the users in this enviroment are all local administrator of the machines, and we can distribute the script centrally from the DC automatically
Acrobat use Java, right? I'm not so expert in java, but something about it could not be so difficult to manage.
Do you know some place where i can get some info about JS and acrobat?

  • Retrieving (Coherence) log files from EM

    Hello,
quick question. Although I can see in the documentation that EM allows to create logs alerts:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/install.121/e24215/coherence_monitor.htm#CFADEHFI
I was wondering if I can retrieve a specific log from any of the machines within the Coherence cluster, without having to log on locally.
    Many thanks
    Angel

    HI,
    thanks for your reply.
In this case, the cluster is being monitored/managed using Cloud Control's Coherence Management pack.
I was wondering whether there is any feature on EM Cloud Control which allows to retrieve a log file from any of the "monitored" hosts (machines on which Coherence member run) without having to remotely log into the machine (SSH, RDP, etc) to obtain it.
I hope this shed some light on my question. Thanks

  • Retreiving files from iPod post-computer crash

My G5 crashed last week and so I had to reinstall all applications. My iPod however still has all of the files from my library pre-crash... how can I retreive them?! I have tried the manual transfer but can't access the iPod's files. Help! Thanks!

The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there's a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to your Mac at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
If you prefer something more automated there are also a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. I use Senuti but check the others out and choose whichever you are happy with.
