Retrieving data after itunes sync

when i plugged in my 4s to sync with my itunes account, all my photos and contacts were deleted and no i had backed up yet. anyway to retrieve from sim card? or any other way to retrieve?

No. The iPhone does not store any data on the SIM card. If you did not back it up and you plugged it in and chose set up as a new phone, or restore from backup, then your data is gone.
If you set up iCloud and performed a backup to iCloud before you did this, then the data should be there. You will need to erase the phone and restore it from your iCloud backup.

When i sync my iphone 3gs, my iTunes hangs up after iTunes sync the apps, so i can't put music or videos etc. on my divice...
    Why is that so

Check the General -> Restrictions settings and see if perhaps the iTunes app is turned off there. If not, the app may have been inadvertently moved to another home screen or dropped into a folder. Do a search for the app or try resetting the Home screen layout: Choose General > Reset, then tap Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • How to restore lost data after accidentally syncing iPhone to new computer?

So, I've been reading around the forum on the correct stepst to syncing an iPhone to a new computer in order to keep all data. Unfortunately, I only saw these discussions AFTER automatically syncing my iPhone with my new computer. So all my phone contents and settings are gone and only my apps remain, because they're still on my iTunes. My question is: is there are painless way where I can restore all my lost data (e.g. contacts, phone setting, VPNs, camera roll photos, messages, etc.) onto my phone again?

lucky you have something left. in my case, i lost my first iphone so i bought a new one and im trying to register for online support and syncing it i just lost all the data in the new phone... all i have is this emergency call on the screen...please help....

  • Recover iMessages after iTunes sync

I have been having major battery issues ever since getting the 5s. I've restored a couple of times from iCloud, but it hasn't worked. Apple has said they can see a lot of crashing apps in the diagnostics report (about 30). The tech suggested I wipe it out and do a sync with iTunes instead of a restore, but apparently I would lose all of my iMessages. He said there are 3rd party apps to recover that. Anyone have experience with recovering iMessages after an iTunes sync? Any recommendations on what software to use for that? I'm assuming I would also lose any other data I have on my phone - like in Viber, Whatsapp, etc, is there any way to recover other data as well? Will I lose all of my settings this way too? I've come to depend on the iCloud backup and disappointed that I can't use it and have a stable phone.

    It gets easier still:
    1) Connect your Nano to you computer
    2) Wait for iTunes to come up.
    3) Click your Nano on the left and view the summary tab.
    4) Click the "Configure Universal Access" button.
    5) In the pop up window, uncheck VoiceOver

  • Email Deletes After iTunes Sync, WHY!!?? 3GS OS 3.1.3

Why does my email in my POP3 account inbox delete after/during sync with iTunes?

It shouldn't. Email account mailboxes and messages are not included with the iTunes sync process.
Do you have the email account selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes to transfer the email account settings from your computer to your iPhone? If so, this only needs to be done once and can be deselected after the email account settings are successfully transferred to your iPhone.
If selected, deselect this followed by selecting apply to see if this makes any difference.

  • Black nano freezes after itunes sync

    Already did update to 1.1.1.
After i sync nano to itunes, i unplug the nano and play a podcast. It always freezes before the podcast starts to play. I always have to do a manual reboot. Then afterwards works normally until the next time i sync.
Anyone have this problem as well??

    I experienced the same symptom.
In my case, every night downloading podcast of CNN News, and NPR news. and when I try to listen it in the morning.
Every morning iPod nano 8GB black freeze, just trying to push PODCAST PLAYing button.
So, I asked to change to new iPod nano 8GB Black at the shop.
but even though after changing it to new one, I couldn't fixed it.
So I tried to find out the bypass way, and finally found it.
I hope it will be helpful for this case, too.

  • Date & Time Wrong after iTunes Sync

I could swear I saw something about this in a thread, but couldn't find it after searching.
I don't recall this happening before today (might have and I just didn't notice) but when I sync with iTunes now, it changes the date and time on the touch to some date/time in 2005.

Happened again tonight. Each time I pulled the USB and reconnected, it synced to a different date and time. What appeared to work (although this is based on a sample size of 1) was to exit iTunes, then disconnect/reconnect the touch, then relaunch iTunes. Date/Time corrected on subsequent sync.

  • HT1766 Finding a recent backup (Recovering data after app sync fail)

    Hi there.
I have searched EVERYWHERE, downloaded programs, copied copies, and I still can't recover my data.
    Here's what happened:
On June 15, Before I went on a long trip, I synced my iPhone 4. I'd synced it the day before (June 14), but I wanted to add a new song.
Since I hadn't updated any apps, I unchecked "Sync Apps" in my iPhone's menu in iTunes.  I am almost 100% positive that I checked "Keep Apps" when the alert popped up.
    (FOOLISH MORTAL.)
We're on the road, and I am horrified to see that all my third-party apps are GONE.
When I get back from the trip on June 18, I rush home to sync all apps, making sure to re-check "Sync Apps".  Happy day, they were back...until I realized that all data on my third-party apps was GONE.
Not just preferences and saved passwords...but two years of budget records from my Tip Sheet app.
I decided this whole thing could be easily solved by restoring my phone to the June 14 backup.  But where was it?  When I went to "iTunes > Preferences > Devices", there were a few backups, but aside from the June 18 backup, all other backups listed were from March and earlier.  This made no sense to me, as I back up my device daily, both to my computer and through iCloud (though most recently on my computer, as iCloud started telling me I didn't have enough space to backup - so there's also an older backup on iCloud).
I begin my research and learn that iTunes only rarely creates a brand-new backup treats its backups like Time Machine, in that it updates the backup with only changed information.  But, unlike Time Machine, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to access a recent, but not most recent, backup.
All I really want is my data from Tip Sheet, a third-party app, which was apparently lost in the June 15 backup, but must be salvagable.  If I go to "Users/[me]/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup", open the most recent backup folder itself, and delete all files in the folder modified after June 14, and then try to restore my phone from that backup, iTunes gives the error message that my "backup is corrupted".  When I put the files back in, the backup works, but the data is still not showing up in my app.
    HELP ME PLEASE.

    Forgot to add:
I did use Time Machine to look into backups, and on June 14 I had backed up using TIme Machine...but the most recent folder in its "MobileSync/Backup" was Last Modified May 15(?!) and, sure enough, when I replaced the old folder with the new and Restored from Backup, the TIp Sheet data was there - from May 15 and before.
A month might not seem like much, but that's a lot of data that would be hard for me to replace.  I know that at least part of my June 14 backup is somewhere in the most recent jumbled-number folder of backup files dating back to October 2010, when I got my phone.
Any insight into this matter would be much appreciated.

  • Can you retrieve info after iTunes "Restore"?

Is there any way to retrieve my info from an iPad after completing the
    "Restore" process in iTunes?
In case I sell my iPad to a third party.
    Regards

It is supposed to be a complete wipe, plus it reinstalls the OS image. If you want to, you could ALSO use the iPad Settings option that resets all settings and data, essentially wiping it twice.

  • Can you retrieve data from a sync-deleted app

I just plugged my iphone into my computer and lo and behold the subsequent sync" sucked a random grip-load of my apps off of my phone, without me asking it to do so.
All the apps are backed up in my itunes and re-loaded easily enough. However, I had a bunch of data forms in an app called Documents 2—data I had entered for my work. Can I get that data back? I pulled the only .ipa file for that app out of the trash, which was from the iphone os update I did a couple of months ago (after which, that app was still working just fine and the data was still there.
The app is back on my phone but no saved documents. Wantsezes … …
I also lost most of my text message archive on a text-free app--anything that precedes three days ago, 2 days before the capricious app-suck occurred.

Unfortunately it's probably gone.  You could try a 3rd party program like PhoneView (mac) or Touchcopy (windows) to look at your phone to see if there's any app data left but you probably won't find any.

  • Apps don't work after itunes sync and or ipod update!

Today when I clicked on my apps they'd open for a split second and then close down. I did some searching on this forum and as a result deleted all my apps and re-installed them again (time consuming and frustrating as all my game data is gone!) and now they work.
I assume this has to do with me either syncing my ipod with itunes for the 1st time yesterday or downloading an apple update for my ipod touch.
Does anyone know if this is a regular problem (i.e is this going to happen everytime I sync my ipod or update it?) and is there any fix other than me deleting and re-installing my apps?
    Thanks!

According to some of the AppleCare advisors that I've spoken with, a reset as you've mentioned can result in data loss.
And according to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430 :
"Important: Only reset your iPhone or iPod touch if it is no longer responding."

  • To retrieve data after process abended

    Hi everyone,
Is there any method of replicating the DDL,DML 's fired after the processes like replicat abended.
Currently i am using : alter replicat rep1 begin now
It seems to work to make processes running again but the i lost the data that was replicated after the process abended.
    plz help......
    thanks
    Saurav

    Hi,
    1.
My Suggestion is NOT to use BEGIN NOW option with Replicat. This will make your target tables go out of sync and miss some of the DML/DDL as you are altering replciat to process from current time stamp instead of recovery.
    GGSCI>alter replicat rep1 begin now
Instead you should always start at seqno 0 and RBA 0 if you are starting fresh or starting Relicat for first time
    GGSCI>alter replicat <replicat_name>, Extseqno 0, Extrba 0
    GGSCI>start replicat <replicat_name>
    OR
if the Replicat has abended earlier and you would like to restart it, you should simply restart it as it will have all the checkpoint information with it and it will automatically start processing data from the recovery checkpoint(trail file).
    GGSCI>start replicat <replicat_name>
    OR
If you intend to start processing fom a specific trail file then you should use below command
    Example:
    $cd trail
    $ls -ltr
    lt000123
    lt000124
    lt000125
If you are sure that the Replciat processed trail file 123 and you would like to start from trail file seq 124 then try
    GGSCI>alter replicat <replicat_name>, Extseqno 124, Extrba 0
    GGSCI>start replicat <replicat_name>
    OR
If you want to start processing from specific record or start of transaction with in a trail file then you could use LOGDUMP utility to find the RBA and use the same to alter the Replicat.
    GGSCI>alter replicat <replicat_name>, Extseqno 124, Extrba 8999934
    GGSCI>start replicat <replicat_name>
    2.
As you have already lost some of the data and your target DB is already out of sync, I would suggest below method to resync it.
full database export using expdp(Oracle Source to Oracle Target)
    1) Enable Minimal Supplemental Logging in Oracle on source
    SQLPLUS > alter database add supplemental log data ;
    2) Enable Supplemental Logging at Table Level on source
GGSCI> dblogin userid xxxxx password xxxxxx
    GGSCI> add trandata <schema>.<tablename>
    3) Add Extract, Add Exttrail, Add Pump, Add Rmttrail on source
    4) Start Extract, Start Pump on source
    5) Create a database directory:
    SQLPLUS> create directory dumpdir as '<some directory>' ;
    6) Get the current SCN on the source database:
    SQLPLUS> select current_scn from v$database ;
    28318029
    7) Run the export using the flashback SCN you obtained in the previous step. The following example shows running the expdp utility at a Degree Of Parallelism (DOP) of 4. If you have sufficient system resources (CPU,memory and IO) then running at a higher DOP will decrease the amount of time it takes to take the export (up to 4x for a DOP of 4). Note that expdp uses Oracle Database parallel execution settings (e.g.parallel_max_servers) which have to be set appropriately in order to take advantage of parallelism. Other processes running in parallel may be competing for those resources. See the Oracle Documentation for more details.
    a.expdp directory=dumpdir full=y parallel=4 dumpfile=ora102_%u.dmp flashback_scn=28318029
    Username: sys as sysdba
    Password:
Note: The export log needs to be checked for errors.
    8) Start an import using impdp to the target database when step 7 is complete.
    9) Add and Start Replicat:
    GGSCI> add replicat <rep_name>, exttrail ./dirdat/<xx>
GGSCI> start replicat <rep_name>, aftercsn <value returned from step 6>
    Hope this information helps.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Lost my music after iTunes sync

    iPhone 6 - 128gb iOS 8.2
    iTunes 12.1.0.50
    MacPro 2009 - OSX 10.10.2
Yesterday, i plugged in my iPhone to my computer to add some new music that I purchased (though bandcamp, not iTunes, added manually to iTunes after download). My iPhone is setup to backup automatically to iCloud and set to sync automatically when connected. I have "Manually manage music and videos" checked as my music collection is too big to fit on my iPhone and I don't want my entire collection on there anyways. As per usual, I dragged the new albums from my music collection to the iPhone. After that was completed, I left for work, only to notice that I only had the new albums that I just added, plus a few random albums, which mostly look like they were purchased from iTunes. In total, I had 96 tracks of music on my iPhone, when I previously had over 6000. Today, I plugged my iPhone back into my computer, In the iPhone summary page, the indicator bar at the bottom still says have 45gb of music on my iPhone, and when I click on the Music tab under "On My Device" all the songs and playlists are there, not greyed out, with not sync icon beside them or exclamation mark. They look as normal as if there were on my iPhone. When I go to the settings on my iPhone, it indicates that i only have those 96 tracks. I deleted all the music from my iPhone, but I can't sync what iTunes says it already on my iPhone. ***?
I've done some searching online, but I can't find anyone that has had this exact same problem with same setup. I've read about the duplicate song problem, but that doesn't look like the problem. I really don't want to sit here and have to go through my entire music collection again and drag over the albums that I want.

You're not alone - many reports of the same issue - just spread across many threads.  I keep checking in hopeful someone found a solution.

  • Voice Memos Disappear After iTunes Sync

Anyone else experiencing this? My wife had 6 lectures recorded today on the iPhone before we synced it tonight. All of them had been recorded today. When she returned home she showed me the files on the iPhone so I can verify they were there.
However, once the first sync tonight completed, the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes only contained 3 of the lectures. What is worse is the iPhone now only contains these 3 lectures as well. Searched through the iTunes library and these are the only Voice memos to be found.
I performed a Restore (3.0) and then restored from the backup that was performed during that last sync and only recovered a short test memo we recorded that day before.
I will be filing an iPhone Feedback report, but wanted to know if this has occurred with anyone else. Cheers!
