Retrieving Data from my fried I Mac G5's Hard Drive

I have an early model I Mac G5 that will no longer power on due to problems with the logic board. I would like to extract the hard drive and connect it to either another computer or to an an external hard drive or hard drive casing and retrieve the data. Is this possible/what would be the easiest way to do this?

My Macbook's hard drive had to be changed, and I'm trying to restore files from my Time Capsule onto my new hard drive, but all I see are three sparsebundle files (one for each Mac we have at home, including my computer/old hard drive). From that point I don't know what else to do. If I click on it, it opens a dialogue that says "opening volumes" and it stays on that for a while.
Does anyone know how to restore data backed up in my Time Machine from previous backups onto a new hard drive? Does it have to do with these sparsebundle files? Or, is there another way?

How do I access on my MacBook Pro data from my iMac stored on Lacie external hard drive.

i am attempting to use my MacBook Pro with the files and data from my iMac which is in the shop. On my iMac I backup regularly with Time Machine to my LaCie external hard drive. When I open my Lacie to my laptop the only data I see is from the laptop--I can't find the iMac data. I tried getting in via Time Machine--same problem. I tried searching through Finder--same problem. I tried logging into my laptop as the other user--same problem. both macs have latest operating system. Both are seriously souped up with plenty of storage and memory.

Connect the LaCie HDD to the MBP. Click on the icon. Is there a folder with the title Backups.backupdb? That is where the Time machine data is stored.

How do I get sync data from my mobile device to the new hard drive in my computer?

My hard drive crashed and I need to get my synced data back and the instructions for doing so aren't adequately explaining how to do so.
I have my mobile device in my hand, which has my Firefox data on it. I can't find the sync key. It is telling me to go to "sync options" on my mobile device, but that isn't available on my mobile device.

Transfering data from a Windows XP/PC external USB hard drive to MBP.

I recently purchased a 15.4" Macbook Pro and it is my first Mac computer. I have a USB 2.0 external hard drive currently attached to my Windows XP based PC and I am hoping to a.) get the information currently on this drive on to my Macbook Pro and b.) use this drive--even if reformatting is necessary--as an external device on my Macbook Pro.
Both computers are connected to the same wireless network (via a Linksys Wireless-G hub) and both have USB 2.0 ports--but my PC has no firewire ports.
I am simply wondering: what is the best way to get the information from the external harddrive to my Macbook Pro? The MBP didn't seem to "recognize" the drive initially when I plugged it into the laptop's USB port.

oh yes, you are unfamiliar with windows sharing. no prob.
First off you have to set up a network on your windows PC. I don't know how savvy you are with your PC, but basically you have run the network setup wizard. You might also have to set up a protocol in your network properties (usually IPX will do the trick). If you click on the windows start button and see a network button near the my computer button you are most of the way there.
Once you have your computer set up for networking you need to enable sharing, which you also do in the network properties (there is a checkbox somewhere).
Lastly, you need to specify which folder(s) you want to share! Just right click on the drive (D: for example) in my computer and click 'sharing'. Naviagate the menus and enable sharing.
Your MBP is already set up for talking to windows networks, so just go to finder and click on networks, pick the workgroup that you specified when you set up your network on your windows machine and click ok. A connection to your external drive should appear. Now you can drag and drop all the files you want.
Sorry if this is confusing, but I can't really rememeber all this stuff off the top of my head.
If you want more clarification, search for 'how to share in windows XP' or something like that.

Failed to retrieve data from the database Error

I had some reports setup in Crystal XI based on a Sql server but recently we had an upgrade, the database has been moved to IBM Informix.
There is a certain table that seems to be causing the problem.
The error:
"Failed to retrieve data from the database
Details: 42000:[informix][informix ODBC Driver][informix]A syntax error has occured .[Database Vendor Code:-201]".
I run the same query in MS Access and it seems to run fine.
I even tried to do a simple dump of the table onto Crystal but no luck.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
It seems your ODBC Driver is not compatible, try to download a driver which supports Informix through CR XI. I think you may have to download Data Direct Drivers 5.1 version to access Informix data tables through CR XI.

When I run the following query against two tables:

I get the following error:
Failed to retrieve data from the database
Details: 42000: DataDirect ODBC Paradox driver Extra characters at end of query: INNER. Database VendorCode: 3902

I tried the Add Command option and entered the SQL query as follows:
select ticket1a.patronid, phonelin.phonenumber
from ticket1a ticket1a inner join phonelin phonelin on ticket1a.patronid=phonelin.patronid
and still got the same error as before. Using the following SQL query:
select ticket1a.patronid, phonelin.phonenumber
from ticket1a, phonelin
where ticket1a.patronid = phonelin.patronid
I was able to get results using the DataDirect driver.
If I use the Microsoft Paradox driver (which is very slow. 15 minutes to run this query) and use the following SQL query:
select ticket1a.patronid, phonelin.phonenumber
from ticket1a ticket1a inner join phonelin phonelin on ticket1a.patronid=phonelin.patronid
I will not get the error and I will get results.
Any reasons why the DataDirect driver is producing errors?

It would probably be correct to assume that both PowerBook computers are equipped with FireWire. The article below could possibly be of interest to you. With a bit of luck, the old computer will be recognised.

Otherwise, it may become necessary to open the old PowerBook and remove the hard drive. The drive can then be connected to an appropriate external USB adapter, and read via another Mac.

Duplicate the details section when I retrieve data from Delivery notes

Hey all.
I built a query that retrieve data from ODLN and it works fine.
But, when I have a Delivery Notes Document that has items from some different orders (that I copy them to Delivery notes of course) it duplicate my rows in the report
I run the query at SQL server and it's work fine (on the same document)

Error while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query

The following error is coming while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query (on ODS) when the Characters are more than 50.
In BEx report there is a limitation but is it also a limitation in Webi report.
Is there any other solution for this scenario where it is possible to retrieve more than 50 Characters?

That warning / error message will be coming from the MDX interface on the BW server. It does not originate from BOBJ.
This question would be better asked to support component BW-BEX-OT-MDX
