Retrieving deleted contact information

I stored passwords to everything under a contact on my iphone. When I had that contact open today, somehow I inadvertenly deleted all info under the contact notes- where I stored it all. How can I retrieve that information only using backup?

Contacts are included in your iphone's backup. If you have not synced since you deleted the info in question, you can use your last backup to restore that info, assuming of course the info was included in that backup. Disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected under preferences in itunes, which in windows is under the edit menu. Connect your phone, DO NOT SYNC, right click the phone in the device pane & select restore from backup. If you've synced since you deleted the data in question, then the data is gone. If you haven't, it should be in your backup.

I am trying to retrieve deleted contacts, but I do not see them in my iCloud account. Is there any way to retrieve them? Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple communities.
iCloud data is not part of your iCloud backup, therefore restoring your phone will not help recover your deleted contacts.
If your iCloud contacts are synced with your computer, then you can recover any deleted contacts from the backup you keep of your computer. Unfortunately if you do not sync your iCloud contacts to a computer or you do not keep a backup of the computer you will be unable to recover them.

  • Can I retrieve deleted contacts from Address book

Can I retrieve deleted contacts from address book on my mac or contact list on my iphone?

Yes if you have been backing up using Time Machine it should be pretty simple. If you haven't been backing up then they're gone.

  • Retrieving deleted contacts

I have 2 iphones, I was deleting contacts off my old iphone 4 and then realised all contacts have disappeared from my new iphone 5 and ipad, tried unsuccessfully restoring from icloud....now what?

If you have backed up your device to the PC using the BlackBerry Desktop Software or have BlackBerry Protect activated, your contacts should be there.
Otherwise, you cannot retrieve a deleted contact from the device itself.

  • Retrieve deleted contacts ?

Silly me deleted contacts from my address book, i have no backup. Is there any way i can get them back. They are not in the trash.....

As you're asking in the iSync forum (instead of the Mail & Address Book forum), does that mean you're syncing your Address Book contacts to a mobile phone?
If so, depending on which mobile phone you have you may be able to retrieve them from there.
You haven't mentioned which version of Mac OS X you are using. If you are using 10.5 and have Time Machine turned on, then you may be able to retrieve them from there.
With no backups at all there's no guaranteed way of getting deleted contact back.
However, if you're very lucky, this may work:
    1) Quit Address Book
    2) Navigate to {Your Mac HD}/Users/{Your username}/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/
    3) See if there are files called "AddressBook.data" and "AddressBook.data.previous"
    4) Backup, then delete the "AddressBook.data" file
    5) Rename "AddressBook.data.previous" to "AddressBook.data"
    6) Reload Address Book with your fingers crossed.
If that doesn't work, then you've lost your Contacts.

Bad mistake. You shouldn't have used your Apple ID on his phone. And you made it worse because now the contacts are gone, as you deleted them from your phone, they got deleted on iCloud. Your husband should have his Apple ID.
There is really no way of recovering the deleted contacts unless you backed up using iTunes and even then you will only be able to recover those contacts that were on a call list. Read here:

Suggesting you were using iCloud Contacts on your old phone, you can just sign in on your new one and the contacts are synced automatically!
If not, on old phone, sign in to iCloud and then sign in on new phone too. Syncs like magic!

  • How can i retrieve deleted contacts in my address book

Does anyone know how to retrieve contacts on my IMac because I didn't know they were synced to my IPhone 4s and I was just deleting them and now I lost about 60 to 70 christmas card address.

    What backups do you have?

  • Retrieve ldeleted contact info

Is there any way to retrieve deleted contact information?

The iPhone is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer for contacts, with the contacts stored in the supported application included with your computer's backup along with all other important data.
Contacts are also included with your iPhone's backup. If you sync your iPhone with iTunes often and you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since a contact was deleted from your iPhone, you can restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup - do not sync your iPhone with iTunes before doing so and decline any prompt to backup your iPhone before doing so.

  • A previously deleted contact reappears!!

I had an individual set up as a contact on my iPhone 3GS. The contact information included, a photo, phone #, email address, etc. I deleted this contact several months ago and prior to moving from Mobile Me to iCloud. Currently, my iPhone contact list is exactly the same as the iCloud contact list.
Here's what happened yesterday and I don't know why (remember I deleted the contact).....I received a call from the deleted contact and when I look under my "recents" phone tab, all of the information for this individual is totally populated (photo, phone #, email address etc) just like I had never deleted the contact! I looked at my iPhone contact list and the person is not listed nor is this person's information listed in my iCloud contacts.
Is contact information retained in some type of "memory" even if it's deleted??? Where possibly could this deleted contacts information be coming from??
Also, could someone tell me why some of the word "Info" shows at the top of some individual contact information but for other contacts the word "iCloud" is displayed? Does this cause a problem?

    Thank you Jay,
err=32 means, "object class violation". Typically
means that you're adding something that's not legal
to add where you're adding it.
I guess err=32 means "no such object". It seems to be missing something to create ("ou=default,ou=OrganizationConfig,ou=1.0,ou=iPlanetAMAuthLDAPServic
e,ou=services,o=abc.com,o=isp") may be that's the reason why the MOD operation fails.

You can manually remove any leftover junk from
deleted domains, or see if we have a patch that
actually addresses this. Latest public patch does
not fully address it.Indeed I already done this, but still the same. I will apply the latest patch to see if can be corrected.
    Thank you.
    Saludos.

  • Hello, I need help to retrieve deleted information to partition an external hard drive. What should I do?

Hello, I need help to retrieve deleted information to partition an external hard drive. What should I do?

I'm not about the question, and giving you the right answer requires me to ask a few more questions.
Do you want to retrieve deleted information for future usage, or to completely delete a partition? The latter is straightforward: simply erase the partition. The former is more complicated: it's very difficult, even using available commercial software, to recover deleted information. If the data is important, you may want to contact a professional like DriveSavers. It won't be cheap.

  • I have an iphone 5, i have stupidly never done a back up! And deleted a contact. When i search the phone text messages still come up from this contact but arent in my message inbox. Is there any way i can retrieve this contact?

With no backup? No. Are you not syncing your contacts either over-the-air or with a supported application on your computer?

Deleting an account from a device will not delete the information from the account, if that is what you are asking.
