Retrieving email very slow

I use nokia E75, but retrieving email through my email setup is very slow. Please can somebody be kind of enough to assist me I do need help.

Hi Mogul,
Download emoze from the ovi store and set up your email accounts on that. Its a push-email client so you get emails almost instantly.Delete the email accounts you have set up previously on the nokia native email to keep the phone clean. The emoze website has a video about how to show notifications on the homescreen, its all too easy.

  • Retrieval is Very slow on 6.5

Hi All,I recently converted 5.0.2p11 to 6.5. With tuning the database and config file I could get a very good performance on the calc time but now the retrieval is very slow. It takes as high as 4 times on big query. What should I be doing?Thank you,Mrunal

    Hi there Kiarash.97,
You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If the issues persist, try these steps:
Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
Check for sources of potential interference.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings

  • Email very slow on desktop and laptop so it's not one of my computers?

email very slow, if I delete message takes long time

Originally we were getting the error that the phone could not connect. Then, after deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it again, the error message CHANGED to having to log in to Yahoo and authorize.
When we went to Yahoo in a regular browser and logged in there was an alert telling us about connection attempts so it disabled mobile/iphone connectivity. It required that we change our password FIRST.
Then, we went in to Manage Apps and Webpages and saw that iPhone was not there but Facebook was.
After all of this went back to the phone and deleted then re-added the account again and SUCCESS!
It now also shows up on the Yahoo Manage Apps and Webpages.
Hope this helps someone else. Please consider giving me points if it does or like the post.

  • BIS email very slow in mornings?

I have two BIS email accounts set up on my Blackberry - been working perfectly for months, and I've not changed anything recently.
Yesterday morning when I switched the device on, I didn't receive any emails for over two hours, despite there being at least 20 on my ISP's POP3 account.  Then just before 9:00am, they were all received by the device.  Today the same happened again - no emails for ages, then suddenly they were all received.  I have a good GPRS signal, haven't changed any settings since it was working - and after about 9:00am, it seems to work well all day again.
I'm on O2, in the UK.   Edit:  O2's technical support line just told me that the problem might be that BIS email is copied across manually, so it might not get done until someone comes in at 9:00am - which gives you some idea what O2's customer service is like that someone might actually think that.
    Anyone else having problems?

    YES!!
I have the exact same problem with BIS being very slow to retrieve mail in the mornings.
I set my Blackberry to automatically "shut off" at 11 pm.
At 4:30 am it automatically turns on.
The last three days I have had delays ranging from 30 minutes to two hours before any of my email would download.
I'm using a Blackberry Bold on AT&T with integration to Google Apps For Domain.
PS - I've previously used this setup extensively on a Blackberry 8320 without a hitch so I'm very familiar with normal operations -- and this definitely is NOT it.
During the daytime everything seems to flow normally, though I do see the odd email or two that comes in very delayed.
Furthermore, in the morning my [email protected] account will send/receive no problem or delay.
My GMAIL based account will send no problem -- it is the receiving that is delayed.
    I've tried:
    1. Battery Pull (no luck)
    2. Re-send service books - this doesn't result in immediate email recovery though I have seen the activation email come through with one stray GMAIL -- then nothing for about an hour until suddenly BIS opens up and my GMAIL comes down in one big bunch.

  • Outgoing email very slow

Outgoing email is very slow. Happened suddenly with no changes being made to the Thunderbird account. Have checked with server (Execulink telecom) and we have no problems sending directly from their web mail site. Takes almost 30 seconds to send an email with no attachments.

Sounds like you might have anti-virus software scanning the email before it is sent.
If this is the case then, try switching off the scanning to see if this improves performance.
It is also possible that your Sent folder has become very large.
Archive old sent emails, delete those you do not want, then right click on Sent folder and select 'Compact'.

  • Email very slow

Has anybody else experience sloweness in email. I create a new email and the letters come back in loooong delay after I hit them on the keyboard. It does not happen all the time but often enough to be annoying. I have check and cleaned permissions several times. I have used the disk utility and Onyx several times with no help.
I just started happening in the last month or so. Any othet with similar issue? any ideas? I am not sure where to look for this.
    Thank you

I have been having the same problem since update to 10.8.2. When I start email, I get long delay with SSBOD. I also get long delays at tiems when opening an attachment.  I checked the console and it is full of sandbox errors.

My emails are provided via Microsoft Outlook. When first opening the account it runs really slowly or doesn't respnd at all, and when it does it sometimes goes off the page on to another one. Any ideas?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • Email very slow to send from Mac Mail

    Hello,
Wondering if anyone else has this problem. Whenever I open up Mac Mail, the first emails I try to send via the btinternet server take more than 5 minutes to go, sometimes closer to 10. It doesn't seem to be a problem with Mac Mail itself as messages sent via other servers go immediately. Once the first email eventually goes, subsequent messages send fine. I'm using POP (as I always have) with ssl, port 995. Mac is 10.6.8.
The problem started a few weeks ago when I went abroad for work and used Mail via my hotel wireless system. Not sure if that's just a coincidence.
    Any advice most welcome!
    Michael
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok. It may be that the Mail index files are clogged.
You can check your current 'envelope archive' size by entering this in the Terminal (simply Copy and then Paste the lines into the Terminal window to avoid any typing errors):
    ls -lah ~/Library/Mail/Envelope\ Index
Then to optimise it (cleans out stuff that has been marked for deletion but not actually deleted, defragments the structure, etc):
    sqlite3 ~/Library/Mail/Envelope\ Index vacuum;
Then check your envelope archive size again to see the results:
    ls -lah ~/Library/Mail/Envelope\ Index
In terms of size the decrease will not be huge, but you may well notice an increase in speed.

  • When starting Thunderbird to retreive my emails it is very slow and eventually no emails show up. Help

I use Thunderbird to retrieve my emails. When I click on the site at the bottom left hand corner it indicates how many emails are waiting to upload on my page. AVG AntiVirus scans the emails. It starts out very slow and the green bar comes across the bottom right hand corner very slowly. I may get one or two emails but then it just stops and the rest of the emails don't upload on my site. My husband has the same issue as he uses Thunderbird also. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    H Sean,
    Welcome to Apple discussion: )
What if anything have you tried or have done to trouble shoot the problem.
Look in your Console, found in the Applications/ Utilities folder for any
clue, check the console.logs & system.logs, for any clues & paste them in a reply post. Look for items that access the net.
Do you do any internet clutter cleaning, using a tool, such as OnyX make sure to get the correct version for 10.3.9 if you do download it.
See Neils User's tip article , on Clearing caches with OnyX
Do you do any Regular Maintenance/General Troubleshooting ?
Go to Home~/Library/Caches/Safari cache folder, and Get info on the size of the Safari cache folder, if it is larger then 5 MB's I would trash the entire Safari cache folder.
~/Library/Safari folder/Icons folder, what is the size of that folder, if more say 2-3MBS, that could slow things down. These are the icons beside every
bookmark & URL , when you trash this folder the Icons will all become default
blue bubbles, the icons will recreate, unless you set the "You -can" Read & Write to Read only, in the "Ownership & Permissions" portion of the "Get info" window. Same is true for the Safari cache folder.
System Preferences-> Accounts-> Start up items, the more items there the more CPU usage the more spinning you may experience, which items do
    you have there?
Which version of iTunes are you running, & have you removed the extra files?
Do you have and problems running Disk permissions repair?
    Please post back.

  • Performance is very slow, i continue to get the spinning color wheel whenever i try anything (email, browser, word, etc)  any ideas

    Performance is very slow.
I continue to get the spinning color wheel on whatever I try.
It doesnt matter if its an email, browser or document of any kind it takes several seconds for anything to happen.

Hello, see how many of these you can answer...
See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH7029
Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

The problem is with the new operating system  and sending photo via email when used in my iPad.
From photo I selected 3 photos to send via email. I choose the upload key and choose to send by email. Typing text on the email is very slow. This is solved by saving the email as a draft and opening the email again from mail.
Can you amend he system to allow emails to be sent from photo as previously.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

  • Email Spool Very Slow

Just migrated my site from CF 4.5 to CFMX7 on a new server.
Wow! MX7 fills the spool with our 7K+ emails in a flash! Used
to take 20 minutes on CF 4.5! But MX7 is very slow on the outbound
    side!
CF4.5 used to send 100 emails per spool cycle to the email
server. CFMX7 is only sending 20 -30. I have set my spool interval
to 5 seconds at this point. I cannot find any other pertinent
    settings in CF admin.
I am using an internal mail server program called Ability
Mail Server. I upgraded to the latest version on the new server,
and it has always performed well in the past. It appears to just be
    loafing along.
    Any help?
    TIA
    Mike

What he said ^. It's not very slow compared to my old WinMo phone which didn't refresh for days at a time even though it was set to 15-30 min increments.
No doubt you can get an app for email though (there is already one for Exchange servers).

  • Retrieving record from oracle DB very slow..pls help

Hi, i'm writing a VB code to retrieving records from Oracle DB Server version 8. I'm using VB Adodb to retrieve the records from various tables. Unfortunately one of the table are very slow to response, the table only contain around 204900 records. The SQL Statement to retrieve the records is a simple SQL Statement that contain WHERE clause only. Any issue that will make the retrieving time become slow? Is that a Indexing? Oracle Driver? Hardware Spec? Or any solution for me to improve the performance. Thanks!

Well, there are a few things to consider...
First, can you try executing your query via SQL*Plus? If there are database tuning problems, your query will be slow no matter where you run it.
Second, are you retrieving significantly more rows in this query than in your other queries? It can take a significant amount of time to retrieve records to the client, even if it's quick to select them.
