Retrieving footage from your SIM card with iPhone 3GS

I have some old video clips and photos from vacations and what not on my Sim card. Can I get those off my sim and into my 3GS?

I don't think so. The typical SIM card can barely hold a couple of hundred contact records and text messages, and doesn't really have any room for videos or photos at all. I suspect your old videos and photos were only on your old phone, and never on the SIM card at all.

  • SIM card with iphone?

I just bought an iphone, not knowing much about it. when I started experimenting with it, i noticed immediately that it doesn't take a SIM card. Well, every one of the four major reviews of the iPhone published last Tues. night / Wed. evening mentioned that you cannot insert another SIM card into the iPhone. It does have a SIM tray (requiring a paper clip to open), but is locked to your iPhone-plan SIM card from AT&T. Some have been able to remove the SIM card and place it into another unlocked phone successfully. This allows you use a cheap phone and still use your account periodically if you are concerned about damaging or losing your iPhone under certain circumstances. The reverse is not possible, however. You are stuck with activating international calling on your AT&T plan and paying the international roaming rates as you travel.

  • SIM card with IPhone 4s

It keeps telling me that the SIM card in my iPhone 4s is not the SIM card associated with my account. They have already disabled my other phone and I have no way to contact them or anyone else. Any suggestions?

I ordered my 4s from apple.com on Oct 7 around 2am in the morning...wanted to be one of the first to get it!   Arrived on Friday, Oct 14 around 11:30am CT.  When first activiting it I was getting the server is busy error...tried for about 4 hours and never got activated.  Called AT&T and they activated the SIM in my 4S which made my 3G stop working.  Then I started getting the 'The SIM card in your phone does not match the SIM card associated with your account' error.  Tried for another few hours and never could activate. Tried to call Apple at 800-myiphone and stayed on hold for over an hour with no answer.   I called AT&T again and decided I'd go back to my 3G so used a blank SIM I had at the house and had them switch back so I would have a working phone.  After they did that they told me my 4S SIM would no longer work and I would have to go to the AT&T store and get another SIM.  Went to the AT&T store last night and waited a long time to get a SIM while watching people walk in, buy a phone and walk out with it working,...argh.  They were convinced they could get me working so they put a new SIM in my 4S and tried to get it activiated.  They got the same error about the SIM card not matching.  Then they said the problem was on the Apple iTunes side. Oh...and they told me by the way...switching out my SIM put my to the back of the line...great!   They said Apple has to get their servers in sync with AT&T and until that happens I won't be able to get activated.  They thought it  would start working around 11 or 12 last night...assuming that things would be getting caught up.   I tried until about midnight.  Then got up and tried from 2am to around 3:30.  And tried again this morning at 6:30am with no luck!  I've also tried to find an Apple store I could go to today and there are no appointments available....of course.  May just switch back to my 3G for a few days and then try again.  At least I will have a working phone.  Never been so frustrated.  I am so disappointed in Apple....I think Steve Jobs must be rolling over in his grave...this is so not the way to roll out a new product!

  • Can I use Iphone 4 sim card with Iphone 3g?

Can I use the micro sim card in a Iphone 3g? I have to transfer from my iphone 4 to my iphone 3g. Thanks for any help.

As Deggie says, I have been using a micro sim in my 3GS since the iphone 4 came out last year. I was sent one free from my provider as I had registered an interest in the iphone 4 but decided to see out my 3GS 2 year contract. Got the number swapped over anyway and got a sim convterter for free from the provider.

Yes. Also log out of your Apple ID on the phone in Settings - iTunes & App Stores, Messages, and facetime.
Then go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings.
After the phone is off log in to iCloud with your Apple ID, click Find my iPhone, click on the phone, and then Remove this device.

  • Invalid SIM card on iPhone 3GS

I live in south america btw. I updated the phone to iOS 5.0.1 and it didn't function correctly so I even had to fix it and now it just tells me at the activation step that the SIM card is not valid. Help ?

where is your phone from?  was it originally sold as officially unlocked?
sounds like you're using a hacked phone, and by updating it, it has relocked to the original carrier.

  • HT201210 Downgrade to iOS5 from iOS 6.0 with iPhone 3GS

After upgrading to iOS 6.0 5 days ago, I've discovered that lots of files have been missing (photos, contacts, apps...).
And trying to restore to previous version iOS 5.1.1 IPSW is not validated by iTunes.
I could use my backup on Time Machine, but last update having been made 2 weeks ago,
I don't really want to do it and lose one week between backups.
    Any ideas?

There is no legit way at all to go back.

  • If you switch your sim card from your regular phone to the iphone will it affect the phone bill?

if you switch your sim card from your regular phone to the iphone will it affect the phone bill?

If you have a smartphone data plan it wouln't change it. Otherwise it would force you to choose a smartphone plan. But why don't you just call AT&T and ask? And why do you want to use your old SIM? You can just activate the iPhone with its SIM if the phone is new, and if it's used AT&T will give you a new SIM. Either way you will keep the same number.

  • Hello i try to use another SIM card with my iphone 4s now it said i need to unlock the phone with my Sim carrier

Hello i try to use another SIM card with my iphone 4s now it said i need to unlock the phone with my Sim carrier ... here is what it says below
The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.

So..  You need to contact the carrier for the iPhone's original sim card, and request they unlock it.  The carrier is the only one that can unlock the sim of the iPhone.

  • Every time I swap between my SIM cards with the iPhone all the messages that we're sent whenever the SIM card was not in my phone never show! is there anyway I can stop this and still get the massages?

every time I swap between my SIM cards with the iPhone all the messages that we're sent whenever the SIM card was not in my phone never show! is there anyway I can stop this and still get the massages?

    Hello SeamusFitz,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
In order to get your messages to show up on your other phone, you would need to have a backup of the phone with the messages, and then restore the new phone from that backup.
According to article iTunes: About iOS backups found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 iTunes will backup your Messages.
iTunes will back up the following information
Messages (iMessage and carrier SMS or MMS pictures and videos).
This will help you backup and restore your device:

  • Can I use a local sim card with my Australian bought iPhone and iPad?

I bought my iPhone 4 and iPad2 in Australia. I'm travelling to South Korea and Japan for two weeks. Can I use a local sim card with my Australian bought iPhone? If so, can I still link my iPad2 to my iPhone4 with a personal hot spot?

Only if your phone is officially unlocked. Is it?

  • Is there a way to remove your sim card if you don't have the tool that came with your phone?

Is there a way to remove your sim card if you don't have the tool that came with your phone? I wanted to see if I could upload my old information to the iCloud, by putting the new sim card into the old phone, since I didn't before I updated my new phone.

Any metal clip will do. Insert the tip in the little hole next to the Sim Card and press FIRMLY. The SIM drawer will pop out.
