Retrieving Lost Photos?

While trying to import photos, lost about half of the photos from the camera and just had a grey screen on the computer How do I retrieve the photos that were erased from the camera? They disappeared when I stupidly ejected the camera from the computer before importing the photos. I found up to photo 477 missing 478 through 780. I am afraid to remove the camera even now

No, it will help you recover the missing photos from the card.

If they were not backed up to iTunes or iCloud, then no, you cannot retrieve them.

How can I retrieve "lost" photos?

I have photos in my library dating back to 2007, but somehow I can no longer view them full size. I can see how many are in each album, and can also scroll through the tiny thumbnails at the top of the Event page. But the Event/Photo boxes themselves are just black/empty, and when I click to open one, I get only an exclamation point. Please tell me there is a way to retrieve them, because they have been deleted from my camera memory card!

Title says it all. I accidenttally deleted all my photos from my lumia 900 wp7.8. No skydrive back up.
The world is full of software that can dig out lost or deleted data as long as nothing is written over them. Nokia must have this also.
So how to save my photos?

There must be a way to make this phone show up as mass storage drive so I could use photo recovery softwares for rescuying my photos. It would be ridiculous not to be able to do this. But they say at Nokia care that there is no way to do this. This is unacceptable.
So any ideas are welcomed.

You can always restore from your back up, assuming your back up was last taken before your video was deleted.

Lost photos - no backup

I have lost most of my photos from the iphoto library. I have searched through the post to find solution, but in every post I see so far, the user has had a backup. I do not have any backup. Can I retrieve lost photos using iphoto Library Manager or anything else if I do not have backup? Is there anyway for me to retrieve the lost photos? When I look in my iPhoto Library under a certain date either all the photos are gone or only 2 or 3 are still there instead of the entire number of pictures taken on a certain day.

what happened that "lost" these photos?
How do you know they are lost - do you have thumbnails in iPhoto but no full sized photos - no thumbnails but still have full sized photos
Tell us as much as you can about what happens, what you did and what you have done since discovering the problem
And now is the perfect time to begin backing up - this will happen again (all computer fail sometime and without a backup yo are in trouble)

How were they lost? You have provided no background material for someone to work with. If you have deleted the photos and are on the latest iOS, there is a deleted photos album in Photos. If you do not have them in the deleted photos album, you could restore your device from a backup that contains the photos. If these were not photos from the Camera Roll and from syncing, they had to be removed by a sync, and could be synced back as long as they still exist on the computer. There are a few other choices, but I'll wait and see what you may have been doing.

Pictures are designed to be copied off the device regularly as would be done with any digital camera. There is no logical reason why anyone would fail to do this with supposedly important pictures.
If a recent backup exists, it is also possible to restore the device from the most recent backup, this may restore pictures to the device. If it does, COPY THEM OFF THE DEVICE IMMEDIATELY for safekeeping.

If you have a backup of your old phone, the backup should include your camera roll photos. Restoring the backup should recover them. This explains how to restore an iCloud backup: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud.

If you imported the pics from your camera roll to your computer, you can sync it back using itunes.
If you don't have either, then sorry there is no way to get those photos on your phone.

How can I find a group of lost photos from iPhoto?

When a recent Mac OS X update was installed on my computer which included the new Photo App, my iPhoto upgraded to this new app and was replaced by it on my desktop. In beginning to use the new Photo App, I discovered that it did not have the same editing functions as my iPhoto did. I decided then to go back to iPhoto, but when I opened up my iPhoto I realized in my album list that I had lost about a year’s worth of photos all the way back to the middle of 2013. I then decided to restore my computer to an earlier time using Time Machine so that hopefully my iPhoto would be restored with all of its photos. I went ahead and did this and had to do a rebuild of my iPhoto library to recover the lost photos. When I did this, I was not aware, that I had still lost some other photos out of albums from early September 2014. Before I was aware of this, I also erased my external hard drive and then did a backup because I kept getting messages in my computer that the computer could not do additional back up’s because there was not room on the external hard drive.
Earlier today, I tried to retrieve some photos out of albums from that. In early September 2014 and found that the album listed the photo number but there was no thumbnail and when I clicked on the photo it just brought up a silver triangle on black with an exclamation point in the middle indicating that that photo could not be found. I did a command option press and opened up iPhoto and I completed all of the various rebuilding and restoring options all the way up to and including restored iPhoto database. When I had completed all of this I found that I was still missing those photos, several hundred. I am wondering if these photos are still on my hard drive someplace. I could not restore them from the external hard drive because I had erased earlier backup versions, as I indicated. Is it possible for me to find and restore these photos? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.-MP

You created a mess and there is no solution - with the actions you have taken those photos are gone unless you have access to them from some other source - they existed in two place - in your iPhoto library and on your backup drive - you have traded the backup drive and restore an earlier iPhoto library so all you have is what you have
