Retrieving music already purchased

I recently moved jobs and left all of my purchased music, videos etc from iTunes on that computer. I called the network manager and the company has deleted my network account along with the information on the hard disk of the computer I was using. I "don't" want to purchase the items as I already have done that and believe I am entitled to them since I paid for them.
How can I get the music, videos etc onto my new computer at home? I can see what I've purchased but it doesn't give an option to download it again. What's the solution?

Hey, I have a similar prblm...I am kind of dumb when it comes to the technology part of this. I have a Nano. I have a library that is mine with a lot of songs on it, and tonight when I plugged my IPod into my computer it asked something about wanting to switch users or libraries, or something. I said yes because it didn't seem to want to let me do anything like buy more music...and now I have none of my music on my IPod...
Does anyone know where my library is stored now and why my the IPod did this? I thought that the last time I plugged my IPod in that it was at this same computer...but, I may have plugged it in at another of my computers in another city. When I plug my IPod into another computer does my library stay there???
I don't understand...anyone can help me with this??
Confused...

There is no such thing as "sub-accounts".
Multiple Apple ID's can be used on a single device.
Created unique Apple ID's for each user and use those Apple ID's on the appropriate devices from iCloud and iMessage.  This will not affect the media on the device.

You can re download past purchases using the same Apple ID for free > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Any truth to Apple letting you re-downlaod music already purchased that somehow got lost...or inmy case, deleted

I moved my music files to an external harddrive that has since been corrupted.  I can't retrieve my hundreds of songs and was really bummed about it until two people told me that Apple will honor a one time re-downloading deal for music that you already purchased.  I need to get up on that for realz

Upgrade to 10.3 or later and go to the itunes store and then go to Purchases (NEW). You can redownload them as many times as needed with the new cloud network. I know what you mean, I recently had my iphone to die on me and i lost everything from the past 3 weeks since my last backup, but itunes let me redownload them. hope this helps

  • How to download music already purchased to new computer?

I just purchased new computer, old one crashed. How can I download music that I already purchased from i-tunes to my new computer?

    Welcome to AD!
Sadly, you don't - iTunes Store give you one download, and you're supposed to back it up in case your PC crashes.

Do you have all your music on an iPod? You could get it back from that.

How do I download itunes purchases i have already made to a different computer/laptop?

If you are a U.S. resident follow the instructions here >  Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Don't forget to "authorize" your new computer. From the iTunes menu bar click, Store / Authorize This Computer.

  • Download music already purchased... What the??

I downloaded a album from iTunes.  1/4 of the songs were only 3-5 secs long.  That wasn't right, so I deleted the album with intent of downloading it again.  I clicked on the "purchased" link, and the album isn't there.  It is under "purchase history" of my "account information."  Hmmmmm...

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • Video of an iTunes bug when purchasing music already purchased....

    Hi Apple iTunes,
I sent customer support a description of the problem, but it's difficult to actually describe what happens in an email.
So... this time I made a video of the problem. Please feel free to share with iTunes qe & dev team.
I just published the video to YouTube. The title is "iTunes bug" and the tags are iTunes, Apple, Rockit
And this is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMuzUnqR-10
Hope this helps - it's much easier to actually show the problem than to try to describe it. If you would like me to make the video private to a specific YouTube user account for iTunes customer support, let me know and I am happy to oblige.
    Best,
    Gary

Hi Gary, welcome to Apple Discussions.
In summary the "bug" you are describing is this:
You can make a purchase from the iTunes store, which if you don't backup somewhere, it is possible for you to lose, either through hardware failure, loss, theft or an inadvertent sync.
The terms and conditions of the iTunes Store, set in part by agreements made with the various rights holders of the copyright material, permit a single download of each purchased item which you, as the end user, are encouraged to back up at the earliest opportunity. iTunes is no different from Amazon and other online digital resellers in this respect. There are stores which do permit subsequent downloads but it is not the standard model, at least with regard to media. Mobile Apps from the iTunes Store can be downloaded multiple times and it may be that over time the music industry will adopt the same model.
When using an iPhone or any other iDevice to makes purchases you should transfer these to an iTunes library as soon as possible and, further, you should also back up this library and and all its content.
In the event of an accident involving loss of data, e.g. a hard drive crash between purchase and backup then most stores will, if you explain the circumstances clearly and ask nicely, be prepared to allow a repeat download of the lost items, particularly if you are asking for one or two items rather than everything you've ever purchased. However there is no obligation for them to do so and while some users have had entire collections replaced that level of help will only be offered once, if at all.
If it matters to you, back it up...

  • How to retrieve Music/audiobooks purchased

    Hi,
My hard disk got crashed and I installed Itunes, i can see all my previous purchases from my account. I cannot see it in my library or purchased. how can i restore this?
    please help
    Thanks

The transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
If the purchases aren't on your iPod and if you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on any of the links on this page you'll find a space at the bottom to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • Can I re-downlaod music already purchased with another Apple ID?

I have an Apple ID separate from my family's so that I don't have all of their music I don't like. In the past, I was able to sign onto theirs with my iPhone and re-download songs they had that I didn't want to buy again. Then one day, it randomly said that my device could only be associated with one Apple ID and I could use another one in 90 days. I don't want to wait that long so I was wondering why this happened and is there a way I can still get their music? All of their music is on the computer and I honestly have no idea if I can put their music on my phone using said computer. Can I? If so, please give me steps how. Thank you.

  • HT1491 How do I retrieve my already purchased ringtones

HEllo I'm having trouble with my purchased ringtones I can't seem to recover them

They will only be where you put them.
    You cannot redownload ringtones.

  • HT201272 Can't re-download music already purchased, the download button is deactivated.

Itunes store has my purchased download button deactivated, so I can't re-download songs.  What is the problem?

Have the same problem. The country is the USA.
    USA permits re-downloads.
So do you have another suggestion? Here's what Apple support says:
"click the iCloud download button next to each item to download them one by one, or click the iCloud Download All button at the bottom."
Unfortunately there is no "iCloud download button". Did a google images search for same, and it's definitely not there. What is there is a greyed-out icon which says "Downloaded." Click on this and the only option is "remove from list."

  • ITunes Store no longer remembering apps/music already downloaded

    Hi,
i've got the latest iTunes, and it occurs to me a phenomenon that itunes store previously remembers and indicate the status of apps/music already purchased.
to make myself clearer, for example i have already downloaded Whatsapp a long time ago, but now if i go to the App Store, it used to display as "purchased" or "downloaded" just beside the app icon.
Now it no longer does, applied to hundreds of apps and  hundreds of songs.
    Is it a bug ?
