Retrieving password for expired email Apple ID
I have an old Apple ID linked to an expired email account, and my security answers don't work. Is there any way to recover my password? I'm trying to authorize some songs that we moved from computer to computer. Thanks!
Buddy, I had the same problem. You are about to have a long phone call with apple. Calling and talking to them is the only way to fix that... Here is a heads up, you should have a new Apple product that still has apple care protection on it or buy a new apple care plan, otherwise they might not help you. I know that's a bummer, but sadly that is what you have to do to talk to an apple rep :(

If you are signed into your current iCloud ID you shouldn't be prompted for the old ID unless there is another service still signed into it. Check the ID in iMessage (Settings>Messages>Send & Receive), FaceTime (Settings>FaceTime), Game Center (Settings>Game Center), the iTunes store (Settings>iTunes & App Store), etc. to make sure you aren't still signed in with the old ID. If you are, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.

If you are not able to receive a rescue email to reset your security questions and password:
You'll need to contact iTunes Store support to have your questions and answers reset.

After your password, security questions and answers are reset, I'd recommend providing a new rescue email address:
You can edit or delete your rescue email address at My Apple ID. To edit your rescue email address:
Navigate to My Apple ID using your web browser.
Click "Manage your account"
When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
Click Password & Security
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.

System preferences is asking me to put in my apple id password for my email acct. I forgot the password so I hit forgot password and it won't take me to another screen to reset the password. Any suggestions?

i have a 3g iphone. I dowloaded Icloud months ago. I have just today started getting popups on my phone to ...Sign in to ICloud... Enter the apple ID password for "my email address that i use on my iphone".

Accessing an iCloud account is not supported with an iPhone 3G.
There are no viruses that affect or infect iOS, unless you have purposely jailbroken/hacked your iPhone which removes all built in security included with iOS allowing you to download unofficial apps from unknown and untrusted sources which can include malware.
Don't remember where you access your Apple ID with the App Store with iOS 4 which is the latest version for an iPhone 3G, but have you checked there? If so, try logging out of your Apple ID followed by logging back in with the iTunes App Store. -
Not able to reset my password for an old apple id account
I have an Ipod that I purchased back in 2006. At the time when I signed up for an apple ID I used at the time an address that The University of South Carolina gave me since I was a student at the time. Once you graduate which I did they disable your email account, so I don't have that email account. I am not able to reset my password or change my apple ID because I don't know the password. Obvisously I can't have you send me a link to my old email to be able to set up a new password since I don't have that emaill address no more & can't use it. Everytime I try to answer the security questions which it has been asking me for my birth month & day it says that I have put in the wrong info, but I know my birth month & day. I really have no way of changing the password or the appl ID. What do I do & who do I contact about this. Now I can't download any music to my Ipod.

If the fomer Apple ID released the iPad Mini in the first place, then it would look like a new machine and the new owner could simply step in and set it up as his/hers.

I can't sign out of iCloud on my iPhone 4 because I have the locator turned on for my phone and don't know the old password for my old Apple ID. I've tried all of the suggestions seen on here and the Apple ID site and cannot delete the cloud. Help?

Help to find a password for an old apple id.
We have changed ISPs and have changed our Apple ID's. I need to find a password for the old Apple
ID that is in icloud so that I can delete that ID in the iphone and input the new one. I have tried all the passwords that I can find and none have let me log in.. When I input the birthdate it says that it does not match? I can not receive an email from the old ISP (comcast) as that account is not active. When setting up me new iphone - it is asking me for an iCloud password for an email address that doesnt belong to me - it is asking this info in order to retreive previously purchased items on itunes, etc. Help?
These are a couple different issues
The purchase issue means they came from a different Apple ID
You will need that Apple ID and password for those purchases
The iCloud account can be an Find My iPhone issue.
That could be the same Apple ID as the purchased or yet another one.
Once again you will need that Apple ID and password. -
HT6170 help with changing password for old email address
I changed my apple id to my new password over a year ago. Trying to restore my iphone and its asking for the password for my old apple id (old email address) which I no longer have access to. Tried the 'answer questions' to reset but it won't accept my valid birthdate. How can I make this prompt for my old email address go away and make it ask for my new one (new apple id). A similar issue is that iCloud keeps popping up asking for the password for my old email address as well.
You can't link to your new account (you created a new iTunes account, you didn't update your existing account ?) until removed removed the activation lock to your old account - you can then link it to your new account in Settings > iCloud.
If you can't get the password for your old account reset via http://iforgot.apple.com then try contacting Support in your country, after confirming your id and that it's your account they should be able to reset it for you.
