  • How do I retrieve a deleted email from icloud?

I have deleted an email from my trash and now need to recover it for legal reasons.  Can it be done?

    Hi there, thanks for responding.
Back at the end of Nov 13 I reset my original iPad to factory settings and my daughter had it whilst she contributed to a new iPad mini for me. It's all those documents from Pages that I can't access....the ones I wrote on that iPad. I can see they are in the cloud but can't get them even when I open pages. It doesn't give me an option to access files from icloud.
Also, I have managed to use up all my free icloud memory. Is that usual or have I been saving lots of unnecessary stuff. I have had an iPad for 14 months and changed devices par way through. I have just got an iPhone thinking that it would be great to have info on the phone from the iPad but of course the icloud memory won't allow all my contacts to come across as there's not enough room in the cloud. (I think anyway?)
I'm not at all a whizz with this techy stuff, I fact this all shows I don't know what the **** I'm doing!!!
    Help, help!,

  • Permanently deleting emails from Gmail, while saving them in AppleMail

I'm trying to figure out how to permanently delete emails from my Gmail All Mail folder without deleting them from the folders I moved them to in the On My Computer area of my AppleMail on my MacBook Pro.  I like the IMAP syncing function in Gmail that keeps my iphone, ipad and MacBook all synced from an email perspective.  However, I don't like my emails living on Gmail's servers any longer than they have to.  I don't want them living on Apple's servers either, so I'm not using iCloud.
I only want emails to remain on the Gmail servers for as long as I keep them in either my inbox or sent items.  I use those two folders as my holding zones for items that still require action.  Once I have done what needs to be done in regard to an email, I either delete it or I move it to a folder under On My Computer on my MacBook Pro for possible later reference.  If I move an email to a folder, I never want it to be deleted.  I use a Time Capsule to back up my Macbook through Time Machine, so I'm not worried about losing my historical email files from a hard drive problem.  I also back up the MacBook quarterly to a separate hard drive which I store offsite in case a catastrophe at my home destroys both my MacBook and the Time Capsule.
I have about 8 years of email history that I imported from my old PC into the MacBook in AppleMail and I now want to clean out the All Mail account in my Gmail to delete all those emails, but I need them to remain in my folder system on the MacBook.
Can anyone tell me how to delete all mail from the Gmail account without having the IMAP function delete them from my MacBook Pro?
Here's an added complication.  When I move an email from my inbox to a folder on my MacBook, I do want that email to disappear from my ipad and my iphone. In essence, I like to manage all my emails from my MacBook Pro if they need to be saved into folders, but I also like to be able to delete emails that don't need to be saved from any of my devices and have that deletion sync to all my devices.
I haven't been able to figure this one out.  Any help is appreciated.

Make local folders (On My Mac) and move the mails there, they will delete from the GMail servers but remain accessible in Mail, only in Mail.
All Mail (in Gmail) is not a folder, it is a label for all your mail, anything in there is also in one of GMails folders, when you delete from All Mail you are deleting the original mail.

  • Use iPhone/iPad to Permanently Delete Songs from iCloud/iTunes Match

I have iCloud and iTunes Match, but I am doing my annual "spring cleaning" (yes, I know it's winter) of songs I don't really listen to or want to keep anymore. I want to delete them permanently from iCloud/iTunes Match. I used to do this in iTunes on a computer. I would delete them from the Song list and it would prompt me with a question to the effect of "Do you want to delete these from iCloud as well?"
Well, I am operating solely on an iPhone and an iPad now. I don't have a computer anymore. So I don't have iTunes software anymore and thus don't have this means of deleting songs from iCloud. I don't know how to delete songs from iCloud USING my mobile device. If I delete a song from a playlist or from the device itself, it is still out there in iCloud and still shows up in the list of songs at my disposal. I DON'T want to cheat the system and turn off the settings feature that "shows all music" in iCloud because then I won't be able to see anything I have at my disposal in iCloud. I want to be able to see my songs in iCloud, but I want to be able to permanently delete from said iCloud songs that I don't care about anymore.
So how do I do it from iOS devices?
Please don't tell me it can't be done without iTunes on a computer. That will just irritate me and drive another nail in the coffin of my growing frustration with Apple.

I honestly don't think you can do it. Nothing I've found online allows you to do this, which is awful because these songs still show up and play when on shuffle. I've even selected "only show me music on this device" and I still see some songs I've deleted and are only on icloud and I have no option to swipe and delete. I'm with you... forcing me to do this on my pc when every other need for syncing has since been removed is very annoying.

  • How can I restore deleted emails from iCloud backup?

I have an Earthlink email account that never synced with the server before, so I went a little crazy deleting a bunch of emails.  It wasn't until I checked my WebMail that I realized it deleted them from the server, too.  I checked with Earthlink and they couldn't do anything for me.  But I had an iCloud backup from yesterday that I tried to restore.  Except the email account keeps syncing with the server and I'm back to where I started.  Is there any way to retrieve this data?  It's gotta still be in the backup, right?
    Thanks,
    Ann

If they were backed up, you can restore your phone from that previous backup.  If they weren't backed up, you cannot restore them.

  • HT5557 How do I permanently delete books from iCloud?

Trying to delete books from iBooks/iCloud.  Help.

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they don't show in the Purchased links for redownloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919 - with apps and iOS 7, after hiding them on my computer's iTunes I've been having to then log out of my account on my devices and then log back for them to be hidden on that device.
If ibooks that are only in the cloud are showing on the bookshelf in the iBooks app then you can turn that off via Settings > iBooks > Show All Purchases 'off'

  • How do i delete email from iCloud?

How do I delete e-mail from iCloud?

iCloud does not store your Gmail or AOL email.  Only your iCloud email is stored in your iCloud account.  If you wish to delete some of your iCloud email you can go to icloud.com from your computer, sing into your iCloud account, open Mail, then delete any email you no longer need.  When finished delete the trash to permanenly remove them from your account.
This article explains this in more detail, and provides additional suggestions for freeing up storage in your account: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.

  • How can I permanently delete apps from iCloud on my child's iPad

Up front, I'd like to say that this question has nothing to do with storage space - rather, it's about deleting apps, for parenting reasons, the iCloud.
We wish to permanently remove select apps from our child's iPad.  We cant seem to do this - while they are not active on the home screen, by going into itunes or the App Store, they can simply be downloaded again without our knowledge or consent.
Are there any provisions for parental controls over the iCloud?
    Thanks.

By going to settings - general - restrictions - parental controls can be setup to limit the age appropriate content including apps. By hiding those apps on your computer you may be able to change their visibility as well, but I haven't had a chance to check it - try it yourself if you want.

  • How do i permanently delete photos from icloud to free up storage?

My storage says that my phone is using 3.9 GB of the 5 GB available for the photos on my phone. I have deleted 230 of the 450 pictures from my camera roll and about 100 of the 200 on Photostream, however, iCloud still says I'm still using 3.9 GB. How do I remove photos from the cloud to free up space? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I would really recommend to use another/second storage option (local on your Mac or PC) or service like Dropbox (a few GB) or Flickr (1 terra byte for photos) for storing your photos.
You could also just delet your old backup and then create a new one, which should also free up some space.

  • How do I permanently delete emails ?

Hi can I permanently delete emails from my iminiipad without having to remove all my settings and data
Even though I am not logged in to my gmail account and have double deleted within gmail, some of my emails appear to be stored on the iPad and comeup when I do a spotlightsearch

Hi even though my emails are set to delete and not archive, they still seem to show up in the spotlight search.
I also need to get rid of some old emails  and other data and was just wondering if there was a way of removing all the data searched on too ?
When you reset your iPad it seems to give you the only option of removing all the settings or removing all the settings and all the data?

  • Is it possible to retrieve deleted emails from VIP mailbox

I deleted emails from my VIP mailbox and didn't expect them to be removed from my "On My Mac" mailbox. They are not in Trash. Can they be retrieved?
    OSX 10.9.2

    Thanks again Linc Davis.
I have tried all this, if I understand you correctly. That is,  having restored a Mail window I look at each Mailbox. The problem is that for whatever reason, deleting from VIPs also deleted from my created Mailboxes which appear in Mail under "On my Mac".
I thought that all deleted emails went to a hidden file which could be found if you knew where to look. This happens with a PC, is it not the same with Apple?
I would appreciate any further help.

Unless you kept a backup, no.
