Retrieving 'saved' numbers on iPhone

Hey everyone. Has anyone noticed that you have to press 'SAVE' quite a few times to save a new contact (save name, save number, save email address)? Anyway, I didn't press the final 'SAVE' for a new contact. So it's lost. Can retrieve the info without breaking into the code of my iPhone? (In case you're wondering, yes, this is the classic 'girl gives boy number, boy fumbles' scenario) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, if you didn't save the cotact completly there is no way to retrieve it since it didn't get saved in the end. All you can do is make sure you save it properly the next time.

Is it possible to retrieve phone numbers from previous iPhones through iTunes ?

iTunes does not backup any contact information.  Contact information is sync'd with your contacts program on your computer.  On a Mac, that would be the Contacts program, which iTunes will sync the content with between your iPhone and the computer.  On a Windows PC, people often use outlook, and their contacts are sync'd with its contacts.
You can also sync contacts with iCloud.
Do you still have the previous iPhones?  If so, just sync them with whatever contacts program you use on your computer, then sync those to the new iPhone.

How can I retrieve phone numbers in my contacts? Only email addresses are showing.  This is on my Iphone 4S.  Thanks!

Phone numbers are on phone only. I haven't been using iCloud to sync with iPad & Mac yet. This morning I started to text & my yahoo acct popped up &'asked for my password. When I entered it, that's when all info disappeared except for email addresses.

  • Cannot Open Numbers Spreadsheet (Numbers on iPhone)

I have a spreadsheet that I created and regularly update on my iPhone using Numbers.
I recently upgraded to version 1.5 of the Numbers app. Since then, one of my spreadsheets won't open - tapping on the file displays the progress wheel for a second and then nothing. The spreadsheet in question is 2.3Mb and contains a large number of formulae. All of my other spreadsheets are unaffected. When I try to send it to email / iTunes, etc. I see the message 'Send "(null)" to iTunes as:'. When I tap "Numbers", the screen displays a progress bar and "Sending...", but doesn't progress any further.
I used an application to recover the spreadsheet from the iTunes backup (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4974), renamed the resulting .numbers-tef filename as .numbers, but when I attempt to open the document in Numbers on my Mac, I receive the message 'The index.xml file is missing.'.
I also cannot import the retrieved file to my iPhone. After uploading the recovered document via iDisk and attempting to import on my iPhone, I receive the message 'Spreadsheet couldn't be imported. Numbers only supports documents saved with iWork '09.'
I opened the .numbers package and examined the index.db file and can see that it contains my data, but just can't figure out how to either:
    get it on to my iPhone;
open it in Numbers on my mac.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I received a message from the Apple team asking for a copy of the files I extracted. I have yet to hear back from them.
I did download and install the latest version of Numbers for iPhone - 1.6. The spreadsheet that I was having all the trouble with - that I had left on my iPhone -  opened after a short delay and none of my data was lost.
I was also able to email the spreadsheet to myself and transfer it to iTunes without issue.
    Problem solved!

  • How do I know if a number is saved on my iPhone 4?

Hi, I just transferred to an iPhone 4, and my old phone is the ancient iPhone 2G. But, I found out that I like the 2G better than the iPhone 4 SINCE in the 2G, (running 3.1.3) when I type a number in the keypad and it`s saved on my contacts, a small information sentence comes up. Example, I type 123456789 and it is saved on my iPhone as the number of Megan Fox, I can see under the number that it says, "Megan Fox Mobile". Also, I added numbers to my iPhone 4 and when I receive a text, I have to add them all over again because in the Philippines, it registers as +63 + number instead of 0 + number when someone texts you before you add their number. I need help with these problems.

There is a button on the left side of the green "Call" botton with a "+"
Tab a number and then tab on this botton. Then your are shown your options for saving the number.
Much better than just saving a number automatically.

  • Am I able to retrieve photos from an iPhone after it has been restored?

Is it possible to retrieve photos from an iPhone 5s after it has been restored? I had taken photos on my new iPhone 5s prior to restoring the previous settings and I never saved these photos. When I restored my phone from the old backup, my new photos were gone. I don't think they were saved to iCloud either.

Without a backup with the photos on it, you will not be able to recover them.

  • Retrieving phone numbers

Can i retrive my phone contacts from a broken phone ( The phones just been run over by a car!) Sim card looks OK, but does it still have my phone contact numbers?

iPhones store no data to your SIM.
Your contacts should have been synched to an application on your computer (Outlook or Address Book) or with a cloud service.
If you elected not to use your phone as recommended so this type of data loss wouldn't occur, then you've just learned a tough lesson.  You cannot retrieve your contacts from a broken phone.

  • HT4528 How do you delete 'SAVED MESSAGES' on iPhone 5s

How do you delete 'SAVED MESSAGES' on iPhone 5s?  It's taking up about 10GB of 32 GB capacity.

After much searching on the web and reading many (sometimes amusing) posts on this topic here is what I have found.
In Settings>General>Usage my saved mesages were using 3.2Gb and no apparently immediate way of deleting them.
However as the good book says "seek and ye shall find".
SO this is where I went:
Settings>iCloud>Account> then scroll down to ADVANCED and select Mail; again scroll down to the bottom and select Advanced and yet again scroll to the bottom (well at least to DELETED MESSAGES) and tap on the line called Remove.
Here at last you will find a setting that enables you to select the period after which iOS will remove your deleted messages.
The shortest period is one day so you will haev to wait 24 hours to finally have that memory back but it should work and is a nice feature in iOS although it is well burried!!

  • How to delete a row in Numbers on iPhone?

I'm pulling my hair out on this one.  The "Help" for Numbers for iPhone both in-app and on the web states that to:
Delete a row anywhere in the table: Tap the bar left of the row, then tap Delete.
So here is what I see before I tap the bar left of the row:
There is no bar left of the row unless I first tap into one of the cells.  Then, when I tap the bar left of the row, this is what I get:
I see no "Delete" on which to tap.  Nor do I see "Hide" or "Insert", which, according the the Help, should also be available options once I've tapped that left side bar.  The only things I am able to do with the row are move it up or down, and change its height.
Am I missing something, doing something wrong, or is this a bug in Numbers?  I'm on an iPhone 5s with auto app updates, so I have the latest version of Numbers.
    Thanks

    Hi Varcar,
Usually when I tap the bar, as you did, I get a popup menu with some choices. Cut, Copy, Paste then an arrow taht I can then tap to reveal Delete, Hide, Chart. Have you tried to retap on the blue highlight on that bar? It might just want more attention.
