Retrieving Selection-Screen Button Variables
Hello,
Im currently doing a modification to a custom HR/Payroll report. I changed the report type to 1_MHR001 because I wanted the selections screen to include the 'Org. Structure' button, in order to allow easier hierarchical selection. The problem is that I need to make a comparison between the selected Organizational Units and a custom field, but I am not able to retrieve the values entered by the user. If you take a look at the image bellow, you'll see a blue square (covering the Organizational Unit field in the 'get PERNR' selection fields) and a red square (covering the top 'Org. Structure' button).
<a href="http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=selscreenil8.png">Image of the selection screen...</a>
I can get the Organizational Unit values (pnporgeh) but I can't get to the values that are input by the user after pressing the 'Org. Structure' button. I thought they'd be placed in the same variable, but they are not.
How do I access those values? In what variable are they stored? How can I get that information (for future reference) ?
Thanks in advance,
Robert
Did you try something like below
data: l_selvalues type table of rsselread with header line,
l_program type sy-repid,
l_workspace type wsid.
l_selvalues-name = 'P_WSID'.
l_selvalues-kind = 'P'.
append l_selvalues.
l_program = sy-repid.
call function 'RS_SELECTIONSCREEN_READ'
exporting program = l_program
tables fieldvalues = l_selvalues.

How to create a variant for a selection screen button
hi ,
i have created a selection screen for a normal report .
In the selection screen there is one button after the selct option for company code. when user enters some company code and presses the button the user i call a able contraol in which user gives some additional values for the comapny code.
how do i create variant. when i create varaint for the slection screen it does not take into account the other screen i called .
so every time user has to click that button and enter some values and execute. please suggest some way.
THANKX IN ADAVANCE:)Hi,
Inorder to create a variant for selection screen report, you need to enter valid data on the screen and click on the SAVE button which is available in the Menu.
And regarding the button you were asking about after select option, it is not created manually it comes automatically,, you can remove this by mentioning no-extension after the select-option. You can get clear information of this if you do F1 help on select-option.
My advice to you, make effect use of F1 help.

Tool-tip text for Selection screen buttons.
Hi all,
Got another requirement and need your help.
I have a user-defined selection screen in my program. I would like to know if it is possible to have a tool-tip text ( quick info ) for the Pushbuttons on this selection screen.
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Anand Mandalika.Function Buttons.
For report programs you declare the selection screen appearence with select-options, parameters and selection-screen commands, function key is one of them.
So a quick example
REPORT ZYX.
TYPE-POOLS: ICON.
TABLES: SSCRFIELDS.
DATA: WA_FNTXT TYPE SMP_DYNTXT.
SELECTION-SCREEN FUNCTION KEY 1.
INITIALIZATION.
WA_FNTXT-ICON_ID = ICON_GREEN_LIGHT.
WA_FNTXT-TEXT = 'Go Faster'.
WA_FNTXT-QUICKINFO = 'NO Speed Cameras'.
SSCRFIELDS-FUNCTXT_01 = WA_FNTXT.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN.
CASE SSCRFIELDS-UCOMM.
WHEN 'FC01'.

Filter value for variable selection screen
Hi & help !,
This could be a tricky or an easy question, but it seems too hard for me !
I'm storing version in my cube, and have a report which shows informations for the version you select (with a variable = ZVERSION01).
ex : Version :
V01
V02
V03
V04
When report is executed i have my variable selection screen (for variable ZVERSION01) which give all version [V01 -> V04]. But i want users have no access to version V01 & V02.
Variable ZVERSION01 is "single selection", i tried to filter with Default Values screen or Characteristic Restriction screen but it doesn't work.
ex : caracterisitic restriction screen : VERSION = !V01 / !V02
default value screen : variable VERSION = ZVERSION01
Any idea?
ThxHi,
In BI 7.0 there is Anaylysis authorisation RSECADMIN transaction. That you can use here or normal role concept will also do.
What you need to do is grant authorisation to the users for V03 and 04 version only and create 'Authorisation' type variable on version in the query. (type of variable - it asks while creating the variable). This way users will only be able to see authorised versions only.
Note you have to make version infoobject as Authorisation relevent infoobject. ( in infoobject properties).
Let me knw if you have any doubt.

How to clear parameters defined in selection screen on back button
Hi,
I have a report with parameters, few being input fields, and check boxes. After report is executed when user selects the back button, the selection screen is displayed again but with the old selection values. I want to clear them.
So in the Initialization even I added the code to clear all these parameters;
CLEAR: p_aaa, p_bbb, p_ccc.
I debugged and control passes through this code but still the fields are not cleared and they retain the old input values.
How to clear them ?

IMO, he only wants to clear the selection screen parameters on the click of 'BACK' button
in the list screen. If the OP clears the selection screen variables in AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT
even, the values assinged to the selection parameters in the INITIALIZATION and with the DEFAULT addition of the PARAMETERS and SELECTION-OPTIONS statements will also be overwritten even when the report is executed for the
first time.

How to add customize message on the variable selection screen in the query
Hi all,
Can we add an customise message on the variable selection screen in the query? If yes please let me know how it can be achevied?
Thanks,
RaniHi Rani,
I faced a similar issue (for what I understand your request is).
My requirement for the Variable Screen was to do:
1) place a link to a ppt file
2) remove buttons "Save", "Save As...), "Delete"... the standard buttons come when running the Query or WebTempl
We were using a Web Templ for BI7.0
I struggled trying to find out how to do it. My conclusions are:
- WAD, not sure we can accomplish it using a Web Template but i did not "play" a lot with the Web_Template Properties in order to know
- XHTML, I was told in my post HTML modification was the way, but I have close to nil background in HTML and couold not find the way of accessing the Variable Entry screen
For instance, I had to remove similar buttons and change some font size from a link on the Web Template (WAD), which was pretty straight forward. In WAD the buttons come with its own icon and to increase the Font size for that link we used XHTML (<font size="2" >). But the heck of the variable screen...well, i just did not get trhough to it to modify it in any way.
Good luck,
Definetly in a Query I would say that no.

Problem with variable in the woorkbook selection screen.
Hi All,
I have Problem with Variable in the selection screen. I have four variable in the report in this sequence
<b>Plant (optional), calendar month (mandatory), material (optional), Customer (mandatory). </b>
In Development system, I changed the query to fix the problem for a formula. saved and executed the query. In the selection screen appeared four variables and executed. after executing the query and I saved the work book also. I logged out of the Bex Analyzer. In the RSRT I generated the report by clicking the Generated Report push button. and again logged into the Bex analyzer and ran the work book, now in the selection screen, appeared three Variables only, I am missing the variable <b>Customer</b>.
The old report which is already in the Production system is working fine. What could be the mistake I did in the development system.
It is very urgent, I need to deliver this object as soon as possible.
Can I anybody help on the same.
Thanks in advance
NarendraYunus,
I did what you said. I removed the variable from characteristic restrictions, saved the query and executed the query, appeared three variables Plant, Calender month and material. executed and saved the work book. disconeted from Bex analyzer, in RSRT Generated Report and logged into Bex analyzer ran the work book for selection Plant, calender month and material and went into change query definition and added the variable for customer which was removed earlier and and ran the query for selections Plant, Calender monmth, Material and customer. saved the work book. disconnected from Bex analyzer and closed all excel sheets and work books. In RSRT Generated Report and again connected to Bex analyzer and ran the work book, now appeared only three variables again missed variable customer.
Yunus does any missed n the procedure what i did.
It is helped what Chris was answered.
Many Many Thaks for your time and replies.

Limit list of values in variable selection screen
Hi
Apologies if this has been asked / answered elsewhere, but I thought I would put it out there, at least while I continue trying to find a solution.
We have a requirement to limit the data from which a user is allowed to select values in the variable selection screen. I know how to write the ABAP code that will return the list of data from which the user can choose, but not sure how to implement that in the query variable.
Essentially, the BEx query needs an input on username, and the current user should be able to choose from a list of usernames. That list of usernames should only be usernames to which the current user has access.
Don't worry about the linking of current user to user names, that is taken care of in our DSO.
What I am after, is limiting the data that comes back when the "F4 Help" type button is pressed on the variable screen.
I can default a value in the customer exit variable using ABAP code in the i_step = 1 loop, but that doesn't seem to effect the list of data available for selection.
Any decent ideas?
Cheers,
AndrewHi Andrew,
As charlie suggested go for Analysis authorization that is the simplest approach to restrict values for any object, in another way you can use following BADI for value restriction using ABAP code, refer the below link.
By using customer exit you can only populate default values but you will not be able to restrict F4 help values.

I want to execute selection screen by pressing enter button
Hi,
I have a requirement like after giveing values in selection screen I want to execute it by pressing enter button not by pressing execute button.
Please give some sample code if u have any solution.
Thanks & Regards
Venkatrami Reddy BHi,
You can achive this.
You just need to do all your coding under even AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
But you have to put a check also say counter.
Define a variable of type integer and then put the check on the mail block of code (whole program eccept selection screen) as mentioned below.
IF lv_count > 1.
program lines..
ENDIF.
lv_count = lv_count + 1.

Report should executed based on the radio buttons on the selection screen
Hi everyone,

My scenario is I have 2 selection screen blocks on same screen..
One selection screen block contains input parameters as follows
Company Code - S_BUKRS
Business Area - S_GSBER
Customer Code - S_KUNNR
Fiscal Area - S_GJAHR
GL Account - S_HKONT
Posting Date -S_ZFBDT
Ledger Type -P_RLDNR
Open Item Key Date - P_ZFBDT
Another selection screen block contains 2 radio buttons with the option as follows
Collection Plan
*Credit days summary.
If i click Collection plan the report output should come based on the input parameters in first selection-screen block.
If i click Credit days summary the report output should come based on the input parameters in first selection-screen block.
Pls send me the sample code for this.
Thanks in Advance

Selection screen issue with hierarchy variable, due to compounding
Hello people,
I'm having this odd effect with a Hierarchy variable in the selection screen of a query, the IObject is 0PROFIT_CTR.
When I display the hierarchy values and pick up one of them, it returns ok to the sel.screen in this format: CO_AREA + "/" + ProfitCtr Value, example: "CANI/AR03". (CO_AREA is compounding of 0PROFIT_CTR).
Now, if I hit the "check" button in the selection screen, the system converts the value to an different one, by repeating twice the compounding (CO Area) value, therefore creating an incorrect value like this: "CANI/CANIAR03". Note the string after the "/" is supposed to have only the profit center value, however now has also CO Area value (repeated).
This value goes effectively to the query execution, but because this value does not exist, I get a message "SID value not found" and the effect is that the query does not get filtered by the value I picked up.
Note, the same happens if I go directly to the query execution without hitting the check button, as it seems internally the system its doing the same conversion before sending the value to the query.
I can't figure out if this is a problem of the variable, the hierarchy or the selection screen mechanism.... but I cannot find an explanation/solution.
I trust someone has already facing this!!
cheers and happy August to everyone.
FernandoSorry, but actually its the parent that needs tagging with "Never Share", not the level 0 member, so Alt_Entity1 and Alt_Entity2 etc, see Essbase DBA guide
understanding Implied
Sharing
The shared member property defines a shared data relationship explicitly. Some
members are shared even if you do not explicitly set them as shared. These
members are said to be implied shared members.
If you do not want a member to be shared implicitly, mark the parent as Never Share so
that the data is duplicated, and is not shared. See Understanding Shared Members for an
explanation of how shared members work.
So in the example above
Entity Dimension:
E1 (user has access)
E2
E3(user has access)
E4
Alt_Entity
Alt_Entity1 - Set to "Never Share"E1 (sharedmember)
Alt_Entity2E2 (sharedmember)
Alt_Entity3 - Set to "Never Share"E3 (sharedmember)
Alt_Entity4E4 (sharedmember
