Retrigger output witout giving users VA02

Hi,
My client is doing a GRC implementation and in the process of their roles remediation, we came across many non-Customer service folks having access to VA02 to re-trigger outputs which was causing SOD violations with their other functionality.
Is there any other ways for the users to re-trigger output for sales orders without requiring VA02 to do it?? This same issue existed in VL32N and VF02 but we were able to find the solution via VL33N and VF31 respectively. For delivery outputs, we gave users VL32N but inactivated the main auth object M_BEST_BSA that was also conflicting via ME23N by giving users SODs for access to change purchase orders. So, users go via VL33N and as long as other objects are active for activity 02, users can do re-trigger output to receive a purchase order or delivery note without actually going into VL32N.
And for billing docs, they can do VF31 to retrigger output instead of VF02. But I haven't found a solution for VA02. Is there any other VA* transaction that will allow them to re-trigger output without the ability to change a sales order? Otherwise, we got SOD conflicts across all business areas.
Will greatly appreciate any feedback from any1 else who has encountered this or has a solution.

Purchase order output determination thru User exit

Hi,
We are trying to find a way to determine the output for PO while creation (me21n) or modification (me22n).
We do not want to maintain output condition records for each fax/print/email etc..cases.
Can we do below thru a user exit or any other method ?
While creating PO, an OA partner will be chosen, so instead of maintaining the output condition records,
- user exit can access to OA's vendor master record and read Standard Comm.Method in Address section.
- according to comm.method, the PO message should be determined..
i.e: if comm.method is Fax, then message should be sent to OA thru Fax.
can this be done thru an exit ?

Reprinting output but originating user deleted off SAP

Hi,
We have an issue whereby our claims dept wishes to print off claims output but the user who created the document has left the company and their profile deleted. This causes an error when we request a repeated output. Is there a way to request a repeated output without using VA02 to change the document?

Maintain output device in user master data

when we try to print the Purchase order smartform we are getting the
following update terminated error message.
" Please maintain output device in user master data".
1. If we maintain output device in my user profile as any printer name
then we are not getting the update terminated error message.
2. when we select the network printer it is always printing
using the output device maintained in the user profile (example
LOCL). it is not printing using network printer.
when we select the network printer it should overwrite the user profile
output device.
Can we have the network printer selected irrespective of the printer
maintained in the user profile?

Hi
If you mention printer as LOCL the system will use network printer and the printer will be controled by Windows.
If you specify printer name the printer will be controled by SAP.
I hope now you can re-analyze your issue.

Sound output from other user accounts

It used to be that I would hear sounds from other logged-in user accounts; I'd hear my wife's new mail arrival sound, I'd hear her Skype ringing when calls were coming in, etc. I also used to be able to play iTunes in one account, fast-user-switch to another, and the music would still play.
This has all gone away recently. I'm not exactly sure but I think it coincided with the 10.4.4 update.
This is a big concern because my wife was used to hearing her incoming Skype calls ringing when I was using the Mac, but now she misses all her calls if someone else is logged in!
I haven't found any other mention of this in any forum. Is this just me having this problem? Any way I can fix it?

Okay, I just got off the phone with Apple support and they say that sound outputting from other user accounts was a "bug" that has now been "fixed." They said that this was patched sometime between the 10.4.3 and 10.4.4 updates. I'm surprised to hear that you are having this problem in 10.4.2 because I'm sure it worked for me under 10.4.3 at some point. None of the security updates released under either 10.4.3 or 10.4.4 make any mention of this patch.
Apple support says that there's no preference for this setting and we've just got to live with it now.
This is so irritating! I've got my Skype ring tone, she's got hers, and we'd hear it ringing and know who it was for no matter who was logged in. Now that functionality is busted, and when one of us is logged in the other misses all the calls, and if one of my kids is logged in then both of us miss our calls! I can't believe Apple considers this "bug" to be "fixed".
There's got to be a way around this; maybe by using the "defaults write" command or something? That command sets a lot of preferences that Apple claims are not user-settable.

Output Control at User level

Hi ,
I have a requirement. Is that in the Output Determination can we control the specific ouput type for user specific.
I,e In billing output for output type "RD00" for the print medium 1, i need to control at user level. One user should be able to generate this output & the other user should not.
Please give me suggestion on the above. This should be only controlled through configurations but not through any Z Programs.

Dear Chakri,
As you mentioned that one user should have access for Output but the other should not have the same.
Please contact your basis or security team to give the access to the person whom you want authorisation for Output and check the other user whether he is having access to Output generation, If he have authorisation ask Basis team to deactive his authorisation.

Store Print Output config in user presets

Hi, I use the 'print to jpg' option to prepare shots for submitting for external printing, and save the different output formats in user templates (e.g. '8x12 with 3mm border'). BUT, the user template does not seem to store the jpg ouput details - this means I always have to manually set the output file size etc.
Could this please be saved in the user presets too?

Error : please mention output device in user master data

I am new to ABAP development.I have created a smartform of address as a main window,then call the function module in a report program. When i run that report program, i m getting screen asking for output
device saying "please mention output device in user master data".
In main window, i have selected an address number whose details is to printed in the form,but instead of displaying the address, it's asking for output device.
can you please tell me where lies the error & how to get rid of that?

Update termination Error : Maintain Output device in User master record

Hi All,
For transaction IW32 when print is given we have getting Update termination error : Maintain Output device in User master record.
I have set the user_settings = Space, for output_Options passed the output device . Even for control_paramters I have passed the device while calling the Smartform . However there is no use. Still I am getting the update termination error.
Please let me know how to solve this issue. Any OSS Note is there for this.

In the user master record , if the output device is not given and in the print program if we pass the output device. the error is coming.Is there any way to solve the issue at the print program level with out maintaining the user master.Please let me know.

I'm a mere user in an enterprise situation. The printers all have cryptic names (alphanumeric strings) which I'm sure have meaning from the perspective of infrastructure management, but absolutely no meaning for the purpose of a mere user trying to
keep track of which printer on the computer corresponds to which physical computer out in the cube farm. Is there a way for a mere user to create an alias name for the network printer? If it involves administrators of any sort, it will likely not
happen, so a solution that requires only user privileges is preferred. However, I can retain the information for a procedure that requires administrator privileges so that I can opportunistically ask them to do it when the circumstances are right.

No you can't create a local printer that uses a Local Port in the format
\\printserver\printshare on XP as a standard user. This task requires admin access on XP
You would need Windows Vista and greater.
You will not be able to rename the printer connections name in any Windows operating system unless you are admin on the print server at which point you would break existing connection to the server.
A local printer is the better way to go in Windows 7 or 8.

How to not retriggered output type when changes are made in Purchase Order

Could you let me know how can I resolve this one?
We have a custom output type. Now this output type should NOT be automatically retriggered if a change is made to the document/purchase order. Currently the system automatically repeating the output type for every change made to the document/purchase order. But there is still an option for the user to be able to manually repeat the output.

1.In order to restrict the output type to trigger you need to write the requirement routine in transaction
VOFM> requirements>output control.
2. create the requirement routine in application EF and write the required logic and pass the sy-subrc EQ 4 if you not require to trigger the output type and pass sy-subrc equal 0 to trigger the output type.
3. assign this requirement routine to custom output type.

How do I set the default audio output for all users

Here's the story. I have a Mac Pro in a classroom that is connected to the audio system via the digital (Toslink) output. The systems are bound to AD and OD with some minor management being performed via MCX (printers, login, etc...)
When a new user authenticates to the system the output defaults to the internal speakers not the Digital Out.
My assumption was that I could configure default 0 key in the com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist to AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,4:2, which is the digital output.
However it seems that new users are still generated with the Internal Speakers which is AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,2:0.
Is there somewhere else that I can configure that default such that all users will default to the Digital Out, AppleHDAEngineOutput:1B,0,1,4:2? Or am I perhaps not configuring the SystemSettings plist correctly?
Most of these tasks were previously taken care of by another technician but he has left and I'm quickly trying to pickup the slack for configuration of our Macintosh environment.

Requirement Description in breif :-
1.I have a report and but when run in background, it should create an excel file and should be sent as attachment to sap inbox of the same user who is executing the report.
2.I have tried all most all function modules. the limitations were some of the F.M are not supported in background mode (which the sap it self uses) And I could able to send data to excel excel file only upto 255 chars per record. i.e these F.M's are allowing me to send a internal table but every record of 255 chars only.
3.Which is not sufficient to send my ITAB contents. and contents after 255 are truncating.

How can I Replay an output type BA01 on VA02

Hi All,
When a sales order V1 is created, OUTPUT type BA01 generates a smartform and in this code we fill in a table with spool data to generate a PDF. Yhis PDF is stored in specific table.
Manually we can generate VA02 --> EXTRA --> OUTPUT --> Header --> EDIR --> REPEAT OUTPUT a new BA01.
But we have to genearte a lot of!
If we know sales order number, do you know if it exists a program (Standard) or a function which allow us to create 'in masse' OUTPUT TYPE BA01?

Not sure of a standard program/FM doing this but try this sample code - fill in the correct values for your system where necessary. Obviously you will have to do this in a loop for multiple sales order numbers
