Retrospective Orders

Hi all,
We create retrospective orders, and with this VAt change next week it is going to cause aus a problem as when the orders are entered the delivery date is in the past, which is ok but the VAT is based on the services rendered date, does anyoneknow this can be changed, i have changed every date i can find but this makes no fiference......
Its a pain even though we all benifit....
Any help would be appriated.

Dear Steve
I think you have to rephrase your question.  Are you saying that you want the VAT to flow with old value or new value ??
thanks

  • VPRS standard cost.

Hi there we are using an additional standard cost ZPRS for a calculation with in the SD pricing. The standard cost is updated each month. Our SD calulation looks at the current selling price and if this is lower than the standard cost (ZPRS) the price used is ZPRS if the selling price is higher then the selling price is used.
We also do retrospective orders, these have delivery dates and pricing dates in the past. But when we price the order the ZPRS is set as of today, is there way this can be made to also look in the past the same as the normal PR00 etc.

    Hi
The scenario is very interesting. As per my understanding of the scenario, you want the back orders to consider the past condition records while determining the condition values. It can be done, but both the conditon types' records (PR00 and VPRS) are compared for a given date. One condition record of present and one condition record of past cannot be compared.
You can try using the field 'Price Type' in Copy Controls Functionality. This is only a clue.
Finally, when your issue is solved, please donot forget to post the answer.

  • Updating Sales Order Retrospectively with PGI figure

    Hi
Does anyone know if there is a way of retrospectively updating sales order with the value that has actually been POST GOODS ISSUED
    Thanks
    Tony

What do you mean by Value? does the Value of the item change during PGI?
If you mean to say, quantity, then yes, After PGI, go back to your order and change the order qty = PGI qty.

  • Purchase order commitment - retrospective generation

    Hello all,
I would like to ask, if it is possible to retrospective generate a purchase order commitment.
Until now, we didn't had activated the commitment for some order types.
Now, we are going to activate it and I wonder if it is possible to retrospective generate commitment for all those orders.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Peter,
You may try to run RKANBU01 report and afterwards RKACOR04 report. I'd suggest to do it in test system first. You may look at note 152571 for further information.

  • Sale Order without Division

    Hi,
I have an issue in prodution system, there is a sales order created in 2008 without division (I dont know how the system allowed), this sale order is created with reference to a contract, and the contrct is having division. And now users want to close the sale order. When i am trying to open sale order in VA02 / VA03, it is giving error mesage " Sales area 1000 10 is not defined". Now I am unable to open the order.
Pls anybody suggest me how to close this order??
How system will allow to create a sale order without delivery??
    Regards,
    Srikanth

    Hi,
I can see a way by which this could have happened.
Initially there was a sales area called 1000/10/00. For tihs sales area, some transactions were created. After sometime, by mistake or intentionally the assignment of this sales area is deleted in configuration. If this is done, it will affect the documents in retrospect and all those documents cannot be processed from then onwards. There is a possibility that this has happened in your case.
Check some other sales orders for the sales org 1000 created in 2008 and you are bound to get this error. If you realise that there are lot of documents affected because of this, please check the change logs in the sales area configuration and find out when was the sales area dimantled in the system. There can be some business reason behind this. Find out the business reason, tell them implication of removing the sales area, do the configuration once again and rectify the affected documents once again by means of a Zprogram.
Please check initially what is said, and let me know if you need more information on this

  • RE-FX Applying interest to open items after retrospective rental adjustment

    Hello,
Please can anybody tell me if it is possible to apply interest to retrospective rental adjustments, and if so what steps need to be taken in SAP RE-FX customising to set this up.
I am implementing RE-FX into an organisation at the moment that can sometime process rental adjustments a long time after the rent review date has passed (due to the time taken to carry out negotiations).  Their existing system (horizon), is able to apply interest uplifts to the open items generated by these retrospective adjustments, ensuring that the interest is calculated according to how old the open items are (obviously no interest will be applied on future uplifted rental items).
I know that interest calculations are available within standard AR, however this is against the whole customer account and therefore would not be approriate for this organsation.  It is only certain rental items we would want this interest to be appied to.
This must have been a requirement for other large commercial property companies that use RE-FX?
    Thanks in advance,
    Oliver

    Hi Oliver,
In addition to Hardik previous solution,
In FINT transaction (Interest Calculation) you can use dynamic selections to select a flow type or contract in order to calculate interest to your required open items. Maybe this could work to select only open items for specific flows.
You can also take a look at the following OSS note to have another idea/alternative on how could it be solved (the solution explained in the note is not you specific requirement, but could be helpful):
Note 842124 - Interest calculation for items in Real
    Estate contracts
Best regards and hope you find the solution!

  • Retrospective Compilation of Statistics (Rebate)

    Hi all,
I was wondering if anybody could help me with making the retrospective compilation work.  This is like computing Rebate amount including Purchase Orders created even before the Rebate Agreement was created but within validity period right?
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Tessa

The agreement has to be set up to allow for Retrospective Compilation (Subseq. sett. index ). You then run this report before you do normal subsequent settlement. Put the agreement in the selection at the bottom. DO TESTS FIRST. Test (Check Run) in a test version. If ok then  slect your structure and place it in your version. What is happeneing is that it is overwritting your structure and version with the generated info. Next do the update run as a recompilation.

  • Super Duper vs. Retrospect - Which one is better?

    Senior Members,
What is the best solution for creating bootable clones and back-ups? What do you use?
Acronis is the industry favorite for Windows, but they have still not launched their Mac version, which was supposed to be out by now.
    Thank you!

The choice depends on your backup needs. If all you wish to do is make a bootable clone, then use the Restore option of Disk Utility. The "free" version of SuperDuper can only do clones. If you need complex backup solutions then Retrospect or Synchronize! Pro X are excellent choices. See,
    Backup Software Recommendations
My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
    2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
    3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
    4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
    5. Carbon Copy Cloner (Donationware)
    6. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
    7. Intego Personal Backup (Commercial)
    8. Data Backup (Commercial)
The following utilities can also be used for backup, but cannot create bootable clones:
    1. Backup (requires a .Mac account with Apple both to get the software and to use it.)
    2. Toast
    3. Impression
    4. arRSync
Apple's Backup is a full backup tool capable of also backing up across multiple media such as CD/DVD. However, it cannot create bootable backups. It is primarily an "archiving" utility as are the other two.
Impression and Toast are disk image based backups, only. Particularly useful if you need to backup to CD/DVD across multiple media.

  • Best for cloning - Retrospect Duplicate, SuperDuper!, or CCC?

I would like opinions on what is the "best" and fastest program for cloning my startup volume to another bootable drive. I have been using Carbon Copy Cloner for quite a while, but the new version is still beta. I have Retrospect, but have used only the "backup", not the "duplicate" function. And, I have seen good review about SuperDuper! If anyone can give me comparisons on these, to include speed of cloning/duplicating, I would be much obliged. Thanks.

Retrospect is an excellent backup utility although it hasn't been updated in a long time. However, the easiest way to clone is to use the Restore option of Disk Utility:
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the startup or source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    8. Select the destination drive on the Desktop and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. At the bottom in the Ownership and Permissions section be sure the box labeled "Ignore Permissions on this Volume" is unchecked. Verify the settings for Ownership and Permissions as follows: Owner=system with read/write; Group=admin with read/write; Other with read-only. If they are not correct then reset them.
For added precaution you can boot into safe mode before doing the clone.
    For general backup:
    Basic Backup
My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
    2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
    3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
    4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
    5. PsynchX 2.1.1 and RsyncX 2.1 (Freeware)
    6. Carbon Copy Cloner (Freeware - 3.0 is a Universal Binary)
    7. SuperDuper! (Commercial)

  • Time Machine vs. Retrospect Express

I just bought a Mac Mini and an external hard drive to utilize Time Machine. The external hard drive comes with Retrospect Express, and I'm wondering if there's any point in installing it.
Is there a consensus on which is better?

Personally I don't use TM because of its reliability problems. Retrospect is a better choice in my opinion. Unfortunately, I don't believe Retrospect Express can create a bootable backup. Other alternatives include:

  • Creating Release orders

    Hello Experts,
I read that when creating release orders, "assign an order item to a contract retrospectively."
Can you clarify what is meant by that? why retrospectively?
    Does it mean:
    1. can add an order item to a contract after a contract created?
    or
    2. assign a order item to a contract by way of release orders?
    or
    3. ?
    Thanks.

Retrospective , generally means to take a look back at events that already have taken place.
Create a Release Order, wrt  a contract.

  • Xserve/XRAID to HP Tape with Retrospect. Problems?

We have a quad core xeon xserve connected via fibre to an XRAID with ~2TB of data. If the data is lost we're in trouble. We have a used HP StorageWorks 1/8 Ultrium 960 Tape Autoloader we can use for tape backups. I found that EMC Retrospect can work with this particular model, but we'll need to purchase a SCSI card to connect it to the Xserve.
My question is; What problems, if any, should I anticipate having with this configuration? I've heard SCSI can be a nightmare, but is it ok under Leopard Server? Is Retrospect the best/easiest option here? Anything else you can add with regards to this would be very helpful. Thanks

Ultra 320 SCSI? I tried to install the card, but I misunderstood the manual which led me to believe I had a PCI-X and PCI-E riser card in the server. Apparently since we got it from Apple with the fibre card it came with two PCI-E risers. So, we now have to order the PCI-X riser in order to install it.
The card came with no real documentation beyond the pages from the server manual showing how to install the card and that to configure a SCSI card you would need to use Disk Utility. At any rate the tape autoloader has a terminator on its second port. Would that normally be enough or would I need another one on the expansion card's second connector too?
And a terminator isn't brand specific is it? I would imagine we have some laying around from HP hardware we use. Would that be usable?
    Thanks

  • Retrospect vs. time machine?

In connection to a recent question about a failed HD on our server in the office, I was talking with a friend who strongly urged me to dump Retrospect in favor of just using time machine. (note we don't actually run leopard right now, we would need to upgrade) I wanted to pose the question to the forum hear with our setup to see if anyone had any expert opinions before we move forward here.
Currently our office has 6 macs all running tiger and being backed up nightly to a dedicated 500gb drive on a Powermac G5 we use as a file server. Now, keep in mind, i didn't setup this server/backup configuration, i just happen to be in the office and am knowledgeable about how to fix it when it goes wrong. So problem one with this scenario is that the backups have no back up, and of course what went wrong recently is that this 500gb drive that Retrospect is writing to died. But more to the point of how to run a backup, my friend believes that when running backups in an office environment that is relatively low traffic/file size where everything is a mac, retrospect is overkill.
the problem with upgrading machines to leopard and running time machine seems that we would have to buy individual FW drives for each machine in the office as backing up across a network seems dodgy unless you use a time capsule. without a lot of in depth knowledge, Time machine seems mostly useful for needing to pull up a two week old version of a file which is something we don't really need.
All we need is a reliable and simple solution that is making regular backups of the machines in the office in case one of them dies a horrible death. i guess the heart of this question is, is using retrospect in an office where no one really knows what it is doing or how to ever retrieve files from it if a drive dies really helpful? would a more user friendly approach here be better? is it worth dumping and using time machine? if dumping it and using time machine what would be the drawbacks?
    thanks.

Here's the deal with TM. All users can maintain there own individual machine backups to the shared drive, but that drive needs to have at least twice the capacity of the sum of all the drive capacities that will be backed up. If each computer has a 100 GB hard drive, then 6 computers require 1.2 TBs of storage space for the TM backup drive (6 x 100GBs x2) at a minimum.
Non-TM solutions would require half the space required for TM provided backups are non-archival - old files are simply replaced by new ones at each backup. Furthermore, TM backs up every hour. It is not suited to a "once per day" backup schedule. Retrospect is better suited for that. Note that there are other backup utilities you could use instead of Retrospect:
    Backup Software Recommendations
    1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial)
    2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
    3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
    4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
    5. Carbon Copy Cloner (Donationware)
    6. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
    7. Intego Personal Backup (Commercial)
    8. Data Backup (Commercial)
    9. SilverKeeper 2.0 (Freeware)
    10. Tri-Backup (Commercial)
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore. Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files.
All of the above including Retrospect are capable making bootable clones and doing scheduled backups (full and incremental) at the schedule of your choice (once daily or less or more frequently.) All (excluding Retrospect) have relatively easy to use and understand user interfaces. However, except for Retrospect they would require partitioning the backup drive so that each user would backup to their own respective backup partition. They are not suited to creating multiple and independent machine backups on a single large backup volume.
I do not know what your maximum storage requirements might be and if you should replace the backup drive you are now using with a larger drive. However, you can provide some redundancy to your hardware by pairing two backup drives (in a single enclosure) into a mirrored RAID. A mirrored RAID uses two drives each of which is a replica of the other. All data written to one drive is automatically mirrored on the other drive. This protects your backup in the event of a drive failure. Although one drive is a backup of the other, a mirrored RAID does not eliminate the need for a way to backup the backup. That may be done with either one large drive to which you backup the backup drive (or mirrored RAID) or a second mirrored RAID. This provides both backup protection and redundancy to help prevent data loss. I use a scheme like this. My main startup volume is backed up daily to a mirrored RAID. Once per week I make a backup of the mirrored RAID to another single backup drive. A good friend of mine does something similar to me but once per month he backs up to a third backup drive. That drive is then stored off-site until the next monthly backup. He does this to avoid loss of data due to theft, vandalism, fire, etc.

    Hardware or Software RAID?
RAID Hardware Vs RAID Software - What is your best option?
RAID is a method of combining multiple disk drives into a single entity in order to improve the overall performance and reliability of your system. The different options for combining the disks are referred to as RAID levels. There are several different levels of RAID available depending on the needs of your system. One of the options available to you is whether you should use a Hardware RAID solution or a Software RAID solution.
RAID Hardware is always a disk controller to which you can cable up the disk drives. RAID Software is a set of kernel modules coupled together with management utilities that implement RAID in Software and require no additional hardware.
    Pros and cons
Software RAID is more flexible than Hardware RAID. Software RAID is also considerably less expensive. On the other hand, a Software RAID system requires more CPU cycles and power to run well than a comparable Hardware RAID System. Also, because Software RAID operates on a partition by partition basis where a number of individual disk partitions are grouped together as opposed to Hardware RAID systems which generally group together entire disk drives, Software RAID tends be slightly more complicated to run. This is because it has more available configurations and options. An added benefit to the slightly more expensive Hardware RAID solution is that many Hardware RAID systems incorporate features that are specialized for optimizing the performance of your system.

  • Rebate Condition Type cannot be reflected in sales order?

    Hi Guru:
It seemed to be a issue? I set up the rebate agreement and ran the vbof successfully regarding this condition type rebate, and the retroactive billing also can view its rebate condition type as well as the accruals, and I believe the rebate settlement had been run too, credit memo to customer will be aslo routed to accounting side for sure, but I failed to see the rebate condition type and accrual value in the sales order based upon the retroactive all billings, please advise what I should do,thanks.

    Hi Klaas,
If I remember well, in the standard price determination there is a conditional formula that only shows rebate conditions in the invoice, therefore you should not see rebate conditions in the sales order.
    That is standard functionality.
For a Customer I took out the formula condition in the pricing so he could actually see the rebate condition in the sales order, the reason was to had access to this information before end of month invoicing. The problem is that in case of changes in rebate agreement or in case of retrospective agreements the rebate condition is only updated in the invoice, not in the sales order.
    Best Regards,
    Franck
