Return Code of a Labview Standalone Executable

Does a standalone executable built with Labview return a RETURN CODE?
If yes, is there any way control the value of this RETURN CODE?

In general, I would agree, but executables (.exe) can contain functions. For
example, create a Call Library Function, and type LabVIEW.exe in the Library
name... This is an executable, and does have functions, that do return
values.
It's just one big mess, dll's ocx, tbl, exe, com etc. (e.g. try browsing to
a dll when selecting a ActiveX automation reference, or selecting a ocx in a
Call Library Function... To use a protocol, the file need to have several
required functions, e.g. DllRegisterService for dll's). In general, a return
value it the value of the eax register (on processor level), but this cannot
be controlled in labview. So creating a LV dll is good advice.

How to generate the return code automatically through EP

Hello all,
I have created a transaction Iview and i am calling transaction SE16 to which i am passing application parameter as the table name which i want to see.Now i am getting the SE16 screen with the table name successfully passed on to the input field. But i want the Iview to process this screen also so that i dont have to press enter to see the next screen. i want this iview to process the SE16 screen directly and show me the next screen. I dont know how can i pass the return code parameter which will directly execute the table name entered in SE16 screen.suppose my table name is "ABC" and i have set the application parameter as DATABROWSE-TABLENAME=ABC&~okcode=ANZE where ANZE is the sy-ucomm value.Plz reply at the earliest.

If called in a thread, without using Runtime.exec any where, then you use a return at the end of the main method, but, if you are looking for a "return code" from an entire application, you're probably looking at Runtime.exec anyway. Otherwise, you are better of writing it so that it can be used in a real OOP manner (i.e. you don't have to call the main method of another application at all, you simply start instantiating and using the classes involved), in which case, a "return code" from the "application" is meaningless.

Question on Labview 8.2 Standalone executable

Hi Fellows,
I have a question, I have created a standalone executable labview file of a vi created to test a circuit board I am working on. Whenever I open the executable file, the labview panel opens up running. Is there a way to create the executable file so that when opened initially, it does not run until I hit run on the labview panel? I don't want any voltage going to my circuit board until I hit run. Is it possible to do this? Since this is the only vi, it is also my startup vi.

There is a bug in 8.2, that will prevent from still standing applications. The workaround is to build the application as debuggable and force it to wait on the debugger (be aware that the exe will be bigger).
But such a thing should be programmed in the application, IMHO.

PDW : DWLoader in Execute Process Task, Success Value return code

Hi,
I'm using SSIS Execute Process Task to call DWLoader.
It seems the Success Value return code is 2.
Which is working fine except that after all data are loaded in my table a 0 return code is sent.
And so my task fails.
Any idea how to handle this ?

My understanding is - When DWLoader process returns 2, everything goes fine but in another case it returns 0 then task fails.
You can Set: FailTaskIfReturnCodeIsNotSuccessValue
to FALSE so that task will not care about return values
But in case of any other error such as syntax - save
error in MyVariable and verify if MyVariable != ""

Getting Return Code for cl_gui_frontend_services= execute

im using the static method cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute to start a program locally. The program is openens synchronously and i need to get the return code of the program. I mean not the one from the method-call but from the external tool on OS-level.
Is there a way to get that one ?

well seems there is no way...solved it now over a result-file which is get written by the called tool and later read by sap.

LrTasks.execute not getting correct return code

I'm writing an Export Filter Provider that, in the postProcessRenderedPhotos function, calls an external Python script like this:
            exitStatus = LrTasks.execute(command)
            log:debug("Task returned, exit status is " .. exitStatus)
            if exitStatus ~= 0 then
At the end of my Python script, I use
sys.exit(0)
and have verified that running of the script indeed returns 0 by running it in the shell and then checking the return code
echo $?
returns 0
Whenever I run this script from my Export Plugin, I always get an exitStatus of 256. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I would first assure that in the Lightroom case as well, the script is executing up to the sys.exit statement as well - I suspect it is not (but don't really know...).
I have called python scripts from plugins both successfully and unsuccessfully, although I can't be certain I've checked the actual return code from the sys.exit command.
Consider trying an ultra-short script which writes to a file and exists with a code - make sure you can read the file in your plugin before assessing the return code.

In previous BI versions, you can skip an update of a field by returning a return code 4. How is this done now using the OO programing in 2004s?

Hi Dae Jin,
The logic still remains the same, yet you have to distinguish between key fields (previously characteristics in InfoCubes or key fields in ODS Objects) and non-key fields (previously key figures and data fields in ODS Objects).
Non-Key fields (conditional update):
Raise exception CX_RSROUT_SKIP_VALUE
==> Value is initialized (same behavior as RETURNCODE <> 0 in previous releases).
Raise exception CX_RSROUT_SKIP_RECORD
==> Skip record (new feature).
Key fields:
Raise CX_RSROUT_SKIP_RECORD und CX_RSROUT_SKIP_VALUE ==> both skip the record.

1. That already does not exist in TS 3.5 -> RunState.Sequence.Main["Call Executable"].ExitCodeStatusAction
2. I think that the correct form is -> RunState.Sequence.Main["Call Executable"].Result.Status
I suppose that ExitCodeStatusAction == Result.Status
If i am not right please correct me!

Return Code - Query for Multiple Rows as XML

Hi,
I'm executing an MSSQL stored procedure through the "Query for Multiple Rows as XML" activity in LiveCycle ES. I do this through a call statement such as this:
{ call MyStoredProc(?) }
This works great, the stored procedure always returns a record set (with or without records). I use this activity rather than "Call Stored Procedure" because I can transform the record set into XML right away within this activity. Unfortunately any exception arising from invoking this stored procedure cannot be handled within the workflow as this activity does not have an exception handler (lightning bolt). In an attempt to handle at least some exceptions we have decided to use try/catches within the stored procedures and return different error codes. Now the problem I am faced with is that there is no way to retrieve the returned code within any of the SQL activities. We don't want to have to write an execute script for each of these SQL calls. Is there any way to do this? Seems like I'm 95% there.

I am trying to create a 2-node RAC 11gR2. I am using OEL 5 Update 4. I am using NFS as shared storage. The time on both node is same. Both nodes have 4GB RAM each. Following is my IP settings from /etc/hosts on both nodes:

I am trying to setup Oracle 11gR2 RAC setup on RHEL 5.4 64-bit machine, during grid installation i am also getting the same error.

Looks like your RFC destination is wrong. The proper syntax is FINBTR@<system>CLNT <client>.

i would like to ask query related to buffer area of pinter on solaris server.
we are trying to print cheques using oracle application on network printer.
some times it is printing the cheques with out any problem but sometimes it throws and error message in concurrent request log file.

What is the status of those concurrent requests (Completed with Warning or with Error)?
1) Do we need to delete any temporary files from server related to printer.Usually, you do not need to delete any files manually, temp files will be created by the application, and there should no issues with the files permissions (unless you have some other instance running on the same node with different applmgr user). However, you can safely clean (.t and .tmp) files as per the following documents.
Note: 435437.1 - Most Common Solutions to FRM-41839 and .tmp Files Not Being Deleted
Note: 145487.1 - Files Types .t and .temp and .tmp, are Saving Under /var/tmp
Note: 162232.1 - Why Does Oracle Forms Create .TMP Files Which Fill Up The Filesystem e.g. /tmp ?
I would also suggest you search Metalink for APP-FND-00500 and you will get many hits, go through the documents and see if it helps.

skgtag: not-accepting APP-FND-00500: AFPPRN received a return code of failure from routine FDUPRN. Program exited with status 1.
This is my error. My same request output is printing to other printers. But it is not printing in particular printer.
My printer is shared is windows 2000 system and we have installed Unix files & printer sharing windows feature.
while executing below command from soloris command line

skgtag: timed out error is coming please give advice in this.
