Return focus to custom property inspector?

Hello,
I'm working on a Dreamweaver CS3 extension that includes
custom property inspector for 'div' tag with specific attributes.
Using the custom inspector modifies part of the body and head
code on the web page. Here's the issue: modifying script code
between head tags makes the property inspector lose focus. I've
tried to return the focus back to original div tag to redisplay the
custom property inspector, but I get default 'div' inspector
instead of the custom one. I'd like to get the custom property
inspector back so the user can keep using the controls on it
without noticing the focus loss.
Here's the code that focuses back on original 'div' tag:
dom.setSelectedNode(originalDivTagReference);
and here's the header for custom property inspector:
<!-- tag:div, attrName:class, attrValue:myCustomClass,
priority:5, selection:within,hline,vline -->
Thank you very much,
Rudi

Which OS?
Which version of DW?

  • Adding a custom field to the property inspector in JDev 10.1.3

    Hello All
    I have a requirement where i have to add some custom entries to the property inspector.Say if we choose a text field in html there will be some standard values in property inspector.Now i want to add my own custom entry always on selection of text field.
    Or i am developing a custom editor and i always want property inspector to display some values on certain selections.
    I already went through the code samples provided for jdev 10.1.3 but i couldnt find one for property inspcetor.I also went through the oracle.ide.* packages.Could someone provide me a class or method from where i can start ???
    Thanks in advance !!!

    I was able to find the ide.jar file which contains all the necessary oracle.ide.* class files.
    I had another query....basically there are 2 kinds of packages of the form javax.ide.* and oracle.ide.*
    So suppose im faced with the situation of say adding menu items and defining actions on them then i guess it can be done in 2 ways using classes in javax.ide or oracle.ide.Can you elaborate how i should choose between these 2 packages.
    Is it if im using the <jdeveloper-hook> i shud use oracle.ide.* and the regular jsr 198 schema then the javax.ide.*
    Kindly clarify !!!! Thanks in advance

  • Help! Can't paste into code view or property inspector

    I'm experiencing a weird and extremely annoying bug in Dreamweaver CS6 -- I can't paste text from outside apps into DW's code view or into the property inspector (such as URLs).
    Pasting doesn't work no matter the method: Ctrl + V, right-clicking or using the Edit menu. Pasting works normally in every other program. If I copy within Dreawmweaver, pasting works fine.
    Does anyone have a solution for this? I'm running Win 8 and DW 12.1 through Creative Cloud. Searching the forums, I see others have reported the same issue. Some have been able to fix it by deleting the configuration file; that didn't fix the issue for me. I'd like to try reinstalling DW, but the Adobe Application Manager doesn't seem to allow that.
    I began noticing this bug about two weeks ago. That might have been about the same time I updated to 12.1. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Cory K.

    Adding to my last post, I used a clipboard format inspector called nclip (http://code.google.com/p/nclip/) to see if I could find a pattern between "what works" and "what doesn't".
    There are two cases where I'm seeing paste-into-Dreamweaver CS6 fail:
    Paste into Code View fails, but Paste into Design View works!
    Paste into either Code View or Design View fails
    I went through the list of programs that worked and didn't worked, using nclip to show what clipboard formats were being saved from each working and non-working source. It appears that DreamWeaver CS6 as of January 9, 2013 doesn't accept the most basic text clipboard formats:
    CF_UNICODETEXT
    CF_TEXT
    CF-OEMTEXT
    CF_LOCALE
    If these are the only clipboard formats used by an app (for example, Window's venerable Notepad.exe), Dreamweaver doesn't appear to handle them. Most programmer-style text editors output just these formats, because they are presumed to be understood any application that handles text. These fail for both pasting into codeview and design view.
    Interestingly, Chrome browser fails the code view test, but it does work in design view! It outputs the four clipboard types above, plus one more:
    Custom Format: HTML Format
    Hypothesis 1: Any application that puts HTML Format on the clipboard will paste into design view, but not necessarily code view.
    Next, Visual Studio 2010 and Sticky Notes, which doesn't include HTML Format as a clip type, works for both code view and design view. They both output this type in addition to the basics:
    Custom Format: Rich Text Format
    Two programs that output Rich Text Format without HTML Format are Sticky Notes and WordPad. These both work with Code View and Design View. From these limited tests on my system, it appears that for Dreamweaver to accept a text paste from an outside program into Code View, that program must output Rich Text Format to the clipboard. Otherwise, it fails. Dreamweaver will accept HTML Format, but only in Design View. Firefox is an exception in that it don't export Rich Text Format, but still works with Code View. It might use OLE, though (Chrome doesn't seem to use OLE, and it breaks in code view).
    Hypothesis 2: Any application that puts Rich Text Format on the clipboard will paste into design view AND code view.
    If Dreamweaver is really ignoring the basic text clipboard formats, and it's not just my system configuration, then this is a bug. Probably something that got overlooked in testing.
    To reproduce on Dreamweaver 12.1 build 5966:
    Try copy/pasting text from Notepad.exe into Dreamweaver Code View (DWCV). This fails for me.
    Try copy/pasting text from WordPad.exe into DWCV. This works!
    Try copy/pasting text from Internet Explorer 9 or Firefox into DWCV. This works!
    Try copy/pasting text from Chrome. This fails to paste into Code View, but does paste into Design View
    The Code View workaround:
    Use Firefox or Internet Explorer for your browser if you're copy/pasting source code.
    If you're working from another text editor, try copy/pasting into intermediate programs Sticky Notes or WordPad, then copy/paste from there into Dreamweaver.
    So that is my experience on Windows 7 64-bit. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

  • People Search and a Custom Property

    I am trying to surface a custom property in the people search query results. For example,
    http://<servername:port>/_api/search/query?querytext='*'&sourceid='B09A7990-05EA-4AF9-81EF-EDFAB16C4E31'
    I get XML results but when I look at the properties returned for each of the people result, there are no custom properties from user profile properties. How can I modify the custom properties so that they start showing in the XML results for people search?
    Rank, DocId, AboutMe, AccountName, BaseOfficeLocation, Department etc.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks!
    Update: I am using SearchExecutor class and its ExecuteQuery API.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your sharing! It will be beneficial to others in this forum who meet the same issue in the future.

  • Can't filter community query by custom property

    I'm trying to search for a community through the objectManager based on a custom property value (part of a LoginPEI that redirects the user on login to a personalized community).  The Query() call is failing with the following exception:
        ParseQueryFilter error on clause #0
        (0x80070057) Invalid property ID specified (0xc8)
    where 0xc8 is the ID of the property I'm filtering by.
    The same code works correctly if I filter by PT_PROPIDS.PT_PROPID_NAME instead, making me think it's something about either that property in particular, or just filtering managed objects by extended props in general.   I've confirmed that the property has been added to the community object through the Global Object Property tool.
    Code shown below (and, yes, I'm aware that the results if there are more than one matching object are undefined).  Any advice appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pete
        private int lookupObjectBySingleProperty(IPTSession session, int classId, int propertyId, Object value) {
          IPTObjectManager objectManager = session.GetObjectManagers(classId);
          Object[][] filter = {
                                new Object[] { propertyId },
                                new Object[] { PT_FILTEROPS.PT_FILTEROP_EQ },
                                new Object[] { value }
          IPTQueryResult results = objectManager.Query(
            PT_PROPIDS.PT_PROPID_OBJECTID, //Property properties
            -1, // search all folders -- might want to restrict this later
            PT_PROPIDS.PT_PROPID_OBJECTID, //sort
            0, // start at first result
            -1, // return all results
            filter); // filter
          if (results.RowCount() == 0) {
            return -1;
          return results.ItemAsInt(0, PT_PROPIDS PT_PROPID_OBJECTID);

    can you try filter this way:
    var sURI = 'http://<host>:<port>/sap/opu/odata/sap/ZTESTODATA_SRV/';
      oModel = new sap.ui.model.odata.ODataModel(sURI, false),
      sap.ui.getCore().setModel(oModel);
      var sRead = "/pdfset(customer='" + oTF.getValue() + "')"  ;
    oModel.read( sRead, null, null, true, function(oData, oResponse){
      var pdfURL = oData.url;

  • Custom Property Editors in jDev

    Hello,
    I have a custom property editor for a component in the viewer window. How do I access the component from my custom property editor? The propety editor does not have any reference of the component, since it is used to set the value of the property in the property inspector. Does anyone have a way to this?? Please help.
    Another problem I faced is that a Combobox does not show the items as it normally does when used in the UI of a custom property editor. Why is it so??
    Thankyou.

    already done that....
    apparently it's something to do with the inner properties of the editor being 'hidden' and the IDE doesn't notice that the bean has changed when its inner properties have changed.
    tried setting the property to 'hidden' as recommended elsewhere, but still no luck

  • Custom Property Renderer - class not found error?

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a custom property renderer in KM - just a basic Hello World for now, as in some of the other threads on SDN.
    When I use the renderer for a property in my layout set, nothing is displayed.
    My code is as follows:
    public class SBPCPropertyRenderer extends AbstractPropertyRenderer
         public Component renderProperty(IProperty property, IResource res, int maxLength)
              throws WcmException
              TextView t = new TextView();
              t.setText("Hello World");
              return t;// renders a property
    public interface IRFServiceWrapper extends IService
        public static final String KEY = "com.company.project.km.SBPCPropertyRenderer";
    public class RFServiceWrapper implements IRFServiceWrapper
         private IServiceContext mm_serviceContext;

          * @param serviceContext
         public void init(IServiceContext serviceContext)
              mm_serviceContext = serviceContext;
                CrtClassLoaderRegistry.addClassLoader(this.getKey(), this.getClass().getClassLoader());
          * This method is called after all services in the portal runtime have already been initialized.
         public void afterInit()
          * configure the service : @param configuration
         public void configure(IServiceConfiguration configuration)
          * This method is called by the portal runtime when the service is destroyed.
         public void destroy()
          * This method is called by the portal runtime when the service is released.
         public void release()
         * @return the context of the service, which was previously set by the portal runtime
         public IServiceContext getContext()
                return mm_serviceContext;
          * This method should return a string that is unique to this service amongst all
          * other services deployed in the portal runtime.
          * @return a unique key of the service

    Hi Tom,
    I've implemented similar behaviour but with the state of resource. The code is following:
    private static final class URLs {
              private static final String BEFORE_APPROVAL = "/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/etc/public/mimes/images/s_s_ledr.gif";
              private static final String APPROVAL = "/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/etc/public/mimes/images/s_s_ledy.gif";
              private static final String PUBLISHED = "/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/etc/public/mimes/images/s_s_ledg.gif";
              private static final String     ARCHIVED = "/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/etc/public/mimes/images/s_s_ledi.gif";
         public Component renderProperty(IProperty property, IResource res, int maxLength){
              Image image = null;
              try {
                   IRepositoryServiceFactory factory = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getServiceFactory();
                   IURLGeneratorService ug = (IURLGeneratorService)factory.getService(IServiceTypesConst.URLGENERATOR_SERVICE);
                   IStatemanagementManager stateManager = (IStatemanagementManager) factory.getRepositoryService(res,IWcmConst.STATEMANAGEMENT_SERVICE);
                   IStatemanagementUtilsResource sResource = stateManager.getStatemangementResource(res).getUtils();
                   Locale locale = res.getContext().getLocale();
                   IState state = sResource.readState();
                   if (state.getID().equalsIgnoreCase(States.BEFORE_APPROVAL))
                        image = new Image(ug.createAbsoluteUri(new UriReference(URLs.BEFORE_APPROVAL,null,null)).getPath(), state.getDescription(locale));
                   if (state.getID().equalsIgnoreCase(States.ARCHIVED))
                        image = new Image(ug.createAbsoluteUri(new UriReference(URLs.ARCHIVED,null,null)).getPath(), state.getDescription(locale));
                   if (state.getID().equalsIgnoreCase(States.APPROVAL))
                        image = new Image(ug.createAbsoluteUri(new UriReference(URLs.APPROVAL,null,null)).getPath(), state.getDescription(locale));
                   if (state.getID().equalsIgnoreCase(States.PUBLISHED))
                        image = new Image(ug.createAbsoluteUri(new UriReference(URLs.PUBLISHED,null,null)).getPath(), state.getDescription(locale));
                   return image;
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   StatePropertyRenderer.log.fatalT(e.getMessage());
                   return image;
    But you can simply take one of the properties of your resource with the method res.getProperty(<IPropertyName>) instead of state and check the value of this IProperty. I took images from KM but you can also add necessary images to your project and use them.

  • Property Inspector freezing jdeveloper

    I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.4.
    When I select a jsf component(command button) from the structure pane to load its properties into the Property Inspector pane, Jdev crashes.
    The cause seems to be my css imports, which I'm loading for my yui javascript components(http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/)

  • Java Bean Property Inspector

    I have two questions to the property inspector:
    First, is it possible to group the properties of a bean and how can I do this?
    Can I define the order of the properties myself or are they always in alphabetical order?
    Thank you for answering my questions!
    Walter

    Hi,
    First question: It depends. The grouping of the properties are not determined by the JavaBean, but rather by JDeveloper integration code.
    So, as a JavaBean writer, no, you cannot control the groupings. However, if you are writing integration code for JDeveloper (as of 9.0.4 which has not yet shipped) you do have control over the groupings, but those groupings will apply to all JavaBeans, not just your own, so any implementation would have to recognize objects of their own type and defer to a super implementation for all others.
    By default the groupings seen are based on the JDeveloper 'out of the box' integration code. These groupings have been enhanced for 9.0.5 to include: General, Visual, Model and Focus. Still more meaningful groupings will be forthcoming.
    Second question: same answer :-) JavaBean writers have no control. JDeveloper integration code is necessary and would affect all JavaBeans

  • First Play and End Jump go blank in Property Inspector

    I am using dvdsp2. In my Property Inspector window, when I go to the First Play drop down menu it is blank. There are no items to select in the drop down menu when I select the disc in the Outline tab.
    The same goes for End Jump in the Property Inspector when I click Track 1
    I tried a reinstall but it did not change anything.
    Any help please?
    So, what I'm noticing is that in the Property Inspector when I click First Play, where it says Menu 1 in the drop down menu it clears when clicked. This does the same in the Remote Control section. Drop Down menus Title, Menu, and Return all clear(go blank) when I click them.
    The same goes for Track 1 in the Property Inspector. In the Remote Control section
    Angle, Chapter, Audio, Subtitle drop down menus all go clear when clicked. Only the Menu drop down stays but does not drop down. It shows: Same as Disc.
    Maybe there's a link.
    Thanks

  • Select an Image? Proportional Resize in the Property Inspector?

    I'm working in Dreamweaver CS 4 on a Mac. My problem is that I want to resize a jpeg while keeping it's proportions but I can't select it (so that the resize handles appear). When I click on it, I end up selecting the div it's wrapped in (or a div further out in the code). I can select it in the code, but the resize handles still don't appear - just the info in the property inspector shows. So I have two questions:
    1. Is there a keyboard shortcut that helps you "drill down" to select the item you're looking for - like in some print layout programs where you can hit a few buttons while clicking on it with the mouse and it keeps giving you lower and lower objects?
    2. Is there a way to change size in the property inspector where the proportions remain constant?
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Max

    That's a cool trick - only specifying the width - thanks!
    (Eventuallly, I would resize the image in PS so it would not require the browswer to do resizing for me).
    In answer to your question, pziecina, no - it's not a background image.
    One of the images has a z-index specified because I thought that might help, but it didn't.

    MHR was asked to fix a “spongy” area of the floor by the bathtub in a tenant-occupied, rental apartment.
        <p>Once opened, it became clear that the spongyness was a symptom of structural damage done during installation of original plumbing. Sections of load bearing joists had been removed to make room for plumbing, leaving the floor system with critical structural deficiencies.
          Sponginess was caused by the separation in the toilet waste flange during flushing. </p>
        <p> Structure had to be reengineered but replacing the floor joists entirely would have been prohibitively expensive and time consuming. Instead, MHR shouldered the broken part of floor from the apartment beneath and then added posts in the basement which carried the load all the way down to the basement concrete slab. <strong>This re-enginneared design provided a level of structural integrity that exceeded building code requirements and was far less expensive than any alternative approach.</strong></p>

  • How can I get the value of a custom property from a resource object?

    I am trying to get the value(s) of a custom property, called "status" within a method. The method has an object of type IResource available to it.
    I have tried the following:
    PropertyName propName = new PropertyName("","status");
    value = res.getProperty(propName).toString();
    However, I am getting a NullPointerException when I try to create the PropertyName instance.
    Is there a better way to get the value of a specific property from a resource object?
    Thanks,
      Tom

    Thanks Praveen.
    I was missing the default namespace of "http://sapportals.com/xmlns/cm" - I thought I could just pass an empty string for the namespace, but it looks like I must always specifiy, even if it is default.

  • How can I add a custom property to an object, like a paragraph?

    Hi,
    We have a merge process that combine multiple document into one and I need to store the filename of the imported file at the beginning of each merge point.   Each document that we merge contains a Title paragraph and I was wrongly assuming that I could set the label property of this paragraph with my value for future references, but only to find out that the paragraph object doesn't have a label property.
    I also tried setting a custom property by doing this
    paragraph.properties["myCustomProperty"] = "value";
    It doesn't crash, but if I try reading the value it is always undefined.
    I'm looking for alternative, or on how would you approach this, can you please advice?
    Your help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Peter Kahrel wrote:
    You could label the paragraph's parent story. Is that any good?
    Peter.
    Well I tought about it, but then I have to find a way to keep track of which paragraph this value belongs to and so far I havent found a way to uniquely identify a paragraph and I can't assume that the merged document won't be edited so I can't use the index.

    Otherwise use a paragraph property that you never use and that doesn't affect composition, such as .bulletsTextAfter
    P.
    It may be an alternative, but that may cause problem in the furture if they ever decide to use or change that properties.  Plus, I'm not sure if can put anything I want in there, but that would be worth the try.

        <Properties>
          <CustomProperties>
            <Property
              Name="flex.tree.noLabel"
              ResId="flex.noDescription"/>
          </CustomProperties>
        </Properties>I had some difficulties to use the custom property editor. When creating a new related one by using an existing resource the property column value is not changed and the content 'Property' is generated. Because no relationships exists between attribute and the property, the entry is lost in the table referring custom property list for the attribute when your come back into the view object or if you save an another entry in an another attribute.
    So my first question ? Is the attribute editing part the right part to define custom property pairs if they are not related to attributes ? is it a bug ?
    My second question is : is it possible to evaluate the bundle in the expression (replacing the literal 'Pas de description' by an expression) ? What is the expression to use ? Where it is described to do such things in the help or in the documentation ?
    Thank you

    This is wrong
    ((Label == null) ? {FlexParameterModelBundle['flex.tree.noLabel']} : Label)
    What is the correct syntax to refer to the project model standard bundle in the groovy expression ?
    Thank for the help !
