Return to previously viewed page

I can link a word on an iBook page with a bookmark elsewhere in the iBook.
When the reader touches the word, the link takes him to the  bookmark on another page elsewhere in the iBook.
What do I need to do as an iBook author to let the reader touch something on the page he was taken to that will take him back to the original page he left?

it seems you answered your own question. make a word link to return the same way you made the one to go forward
When the reader touches the word, the link takes him to the  bookmark on another page elsewhere in the iBook.

  • Camino : How to remember last scroll position on previous viewed page?

I am switching from Safari to Camino. Sa far it was a good experience except one issue:
When i scroll to half way of a page and click a link, i will be directed to the link within the same tab. After finished viewing the new link, i press the DELETE button to return to the previous page. Camino returns to previous page but not remembering the location, in this case which is the half way of the page. It just loads back the previous page and scrolls to the top again
Is there any way to configure Camino to remember the last scroll location of the previous page?

I'm not sure there's a way to do what you want, but if you select command click on a link "open in new window" in Camino prefs, you should have the original window and scroll position in place behind the new window.
    Hope this helps,
    Miriam

  • Impossible return to previous web page in Maveriks

Is it impossible return to the previous web page, just watched, in new os x Maveriks??
I am tired to reset my previous page only by clicking  "chronology" in Safari...
because in the new OS X when I want to return in first page i searched
( for example: I am in Facebook "home"
I am interested to a new Post where there's a link,
I click that link...and then I want to return to the previous
page "Home"...with Mavericks I'm back in my FBook profile page
and not to that previous Post...((
when I was in Lion, clicking to the left arrow in the top of panel
Safari returned to the previous page...Mavericks NOT. )
Sorry for my bad english. Hope to be understood.
    Any suggestion?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
    Now empty the Safari cache.
Back to Safari > Prefereces then select the  Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Facebook.

  • Start Firefox and homepage is not displayed; cannot navigate back to previously viewed pages using back or forward arrows; bookmarks toolbar not available on start-up though selected in options menu.

    1. Start firefox and my homepage is not displayed--there is no webpage displayed on initial startup. A homepage is listed in the options menu. In order to see homepage I need to manually press the home icon to the right of the search box.
    2. I am not capable of using the navigation arrows to the left of the address bar to navigate to previously viewed webpages. The arrows are present but are gray. Is there a setting in the security tab of the options menu that disables the navigation arrows for security purposes (i.e. not remembering webpages or cookies, etc.)?
    3. Though the bookmark toolbar is selected in the options menu, the bookmarks toolbar is not visible when starting firefox. Instead there is a red firefox toolbar located at the upper left of the screen. In order to view the bookmarks toolbar I need to go into the options menu and de-select the bookmarks toolbar (causes the red firefox toolbar to disappear) and then re-select the bookmarks toolbar.
Any information to help correct these issues is greatly appreciated.

''framerotblues'' suggestion worked for me. I was having the following problems after 10.0 update:
    >No back/forward buttons.
    >Nothing in address bar.
    >Bookmark toolbar would not automatically load. Even though it was checked as a toolbar to view, I had to uncheck and check it again every time I closed/opened Firefox.
    >Could not access add-ons. Neither through menu toolbar nor using ctrl-shift-a
Restarted Firefox with add-ons disabled (help->restart with add-ons disabled). Removed ''Facebook Disconnect'' from add-ons. Restarted and everything seems to be working.

  • Safari always returns to previously opened page

Is there a way of stopping Safari returning to the last page I had open each time I start a new session?

The only drawback to this solution is that now you have turned off this feature for ALL applications. Fine if that's how you want it. If you prefer to have some apps remember their last state, you can recheck the box and use option-quit to quit applications for which you want them to forget their last state.

  • Pictures black when return to a viewed page.

After choosing a link from a Web page and viewing that link, I return to the previous page and all the pictures that were displayed on the page are black. Only way to show pictures again is to refresh the whole page. This issue started after the last update. I use a Note 3. What can be done to remedy this issue on my phone?

That's interesting, I noticed this problem recently too. I'm running an HTC One M8 on Android 4.4.2.

  • In the latest version of Firefox, I have lost the little arrow by the back button that brought up a list of previously viewed pages that I could slelect rather than having to back up page by page- - how do I get it back?

I have now got version 4.0.1 and am running on Vista.

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker

  • How can I return to previous page? There used to be an arrow in upper left side of screen that would allow this, but it has disappeared.

I have the latest version of Firefox, 5.0 installed today, but no arrow in upper left part of screen that previously would let me return to previous page.

can I somehow edit the location of where I can find all the sheets (right now they are on top of the page, and you can't see all of them listed at quick glance but must scroll/arrow through them)
On my machine I just hit shift-command-j (the keyboard shortcut I assigned in System Preferences) and a list of the sheets in the current document pops up:
I type a number from the list and jump immediately to that sheet. The hands never have to leave the keyboard.
(This particular document had a sheet named for each month.  But the sheets in your document automatically will be listed instead.)
This is done via a Jump to Sheet Automator Service (Dropbox download).  To install just doubleclick the .workflow package and (if needed) click 'Download Anyway' in System Preferences > Privacy & Security.
Installation will cause a new item to appear in your Numbers > Services menu.  Then, if you want a keyboard shortcut, go here in System Preferences and add one:
You can rename or remove the service by holding down the option key in Finder and choosing Go > Library > Services. You can also view the AppleScript contaned within the service by opening the .workflow package in Automator.
Note, also, that in Numbers 3 you don't have to use those left-right arrows upper right to slowly scroll left-right to the sheets that are out of view.  Just move your cursor up to the "band" with the "tabs" and drag left or right.  That's much faster than using the arrows.

  • How to return to previous pages without going back one at a time

I do a lot of work on ebay and have to return to previous searches or pages and I used to be able to have a button that would show all the previous pages and I could go down the list and click on it. The only option I have now is to go into history and it only shows recent pages and it's for ALL the tabs open. I want just the tab for ebay previous pages. For instance if I go to ebay sold and relist an item it takes me through the prompts and if I want to return to ebay sold I want a drop down showing that option. I no longer see one. This normally wouldn't be too much of an issue except that the ebay sold is on ebay.com and relist is on ebay.ca so I like to go back to the previous page instead of going to bookmarks, ebay, my ebay, sold etc to get there again. Too much work!!! thanks, Iris

  • How can I return to the previous browsing page in the App store?

How can I return to the previous browsing page in the App store?

Thanks for your reply but problem not solved. If I have reached page 5 for example, I can not go back to the previous page 4. Instead it goes back to page 1 when I use the back track arrows, gestures or the back or forward commands!! The girl at my local Apple dealer says that it can't be done. This should be a very basic browsing function in the App Store. I know other people have the same problem.

Every time I press the delete tab in Safari it either returns to my previous web page or crashes?

Launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. If that doesn’t work, then in the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash logs related to Safari, WebProcess, or PluginProcess. Select the most recent one of each and post the contents -- the text, please, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.)
